when I paste the first fix you mentioned, as soon as I enter the game, I get an error telling me my save files are from a different version and that I need to downgrade or something. I tried to delete the save files and it did let me to enter the main menu, but when I try to start a new game, the game crashes while loading it.

updated not really worth it since this game the same pattern and no additional story, just a few updates on new skin for the gun and zombies. its been 2 years waiting for SoD3. I hope some will be released this year and get a crack.

Is it just me or do the updates refuse to install, starting with 27? I download the original CODEX version of the game, and every time I try to update it gets an error and cancels, and then I have to uninstall and reinstall the game to try again, and it does the same error. Just wanted to let you know I ran into this same exact problem. After deleting the game, the solution for me was to make sure "Copy contents to CODEX directory" is Unchecked while installing the base game as well as each sequential update, only checking the box on the final update.
Sounds like the crack wasn't applied properly. The game shouldn't be trying to go online if it's cracked. Did you check the box "Copy contents to CODEX directory" on the last update?
Otherwise you can simply do it manually by going to the CODEX folder you downloaded, then copy and paste the contents of that folder into where you installed the game. Be sure to replace files if it asks you.
Any one who finds the game easy there are mods where just a single bite kills like the walking dead. At night the dead become faster and much harder to kill. I accidently installed them a few weeks ago and ended up losing half my team in under 5 min once i adjusted to the brutal difficulty. I started to really like it. I had a nightmare zombies were chasing me all from this game that made it far more life like. I normally like easier games but i have to admit the mods make this game way better!
When I try run a campaign it loads for about 1 mins then it crashes. No crash screen or error screen. I don't click anything and I let the game run but it still crashes. I have multiplayer off.
They changed this game so much! It's not like it was when it 1st came out I played on normal as soon as a blood infected bites you, you die instantly you used to have time all the time improving characters then one bite and they are gone with the weeks it took to improve them i hate it now even on easy they die too they need to give players time to at least get a cure or to even take the cure i died with 2 vials of cure in my pocket! I sent another guy out and all my stuff that was on the infected character GONE! Vanished now they used to just drop it or they remained on the actual character but they changed that too I really hate the new changes they made to this game they ruined this game it used to be one of my favorite games. I tried to use a trainer to help but it doesnt matter when they bite you all gear is gone along with your character. I'm going to look for mods to make it go back to the old game play or make it where you have time to find a cure not die instantly!
Looks like some mods activated where just a single bite kills instantly. They made the game really brutal. another doubled the amount of zombies on screen. I was wondering how the game got so difficult but now i really like the challenge! It makes getting blood plague useless.The game feels like a real zombie survival now. I just wish i could have saved my best character a split second slip and she got bitten like watching the walking dead when one of the lesser characters gets careless.
Go into your sod2 iso file, find a folder named support. In there you'll find a folder named "Gaming_Services". Inside this folder there is a package file"Microsoft.GamingServices_....". Run that and you should be fine.
I ran the uninstallation file and it deleted my entire documents drive. 200gb of data completely gone. Work, school, other games, literally everything just disappeared into thin air. Funny thing is, the only files left over were the state of decay files :)
I dont understand why they put single updates for last time when i installed update 28 it didnt work i had to delete everything and install main game then each update to 28 now with update 29 same thing! I tried to just install update 29 it keeps failing 3 times now so i delete the entire game file reinstall main game then update each update to update 29. Not sure why but this happens with all IGG-games updates they might as well just release the entire game already updated to save us time. I know a few people who get the updates to work if it did work for me then it would be a lot faster. This is very frustrating i dont get why i have to keep installing the whole game???????

For anyone who experience this after changing the resolution, go to %AppData%\Local\StateOfDecay2\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor change your GameUserSettings.ini to default setting. always change this in case you have to lower or higher the resolution
You can't play pirated games on official servers and even if you could, every time theres a minor, tiny update that is not even worth releasing a cracked version the game would no longer be compatible to the servers and to other players versions until a major update is released that is worth cracking and updating.

I see some have the same issue I have with the one exe file doing nothing and the other launching the steam store page, but I see no resolution to this issue. There is no crack files or installer so I assume it's a cracked all-in-one, but it simply doesn't work.
There was a codex installer. In order to apply the crack if you did not do so already through the installer, you have to open the .rar or .zip file in the install when you extracted it. then open the folder named "CODEX" and drag and drop the two folders in that folder to the S.O.D directory. If you need a more in depth fix, just say the word ;)
Hi, I kinda don't know how to launch this game, I normally don't have problems with anything, but, when I open the folder and click on StateOfDecay2, it does nothing. When I open StateOfDecay2 folder, then binaries and Win64 there's StateOfDecay2-Win64-Shipping, when I click on this, it sends me to steam to buy it, so there's no crack ? or setup or anything ?
Anyone has the same problem? The game runs smoothly after 2 days or so. Then, my game keep freezing in the area I'm in today... I started a new game but same problem keep bugging me.. At first, I thought it was my laptop that froze then I realized it was the game because I can still close it using Task Manager. I decided to re-download the whole game now. Also happened to me yesterday. Wonder if it means something. I even reinstalled my system to do clean instalation, but it helps only for creating new community and after saving and reseting the game it is stuck again no matter what i do.
NVM Tip: Extract all the parts at the same time. Mark all 4 parts then click extract files. Beacuase extracting them one and one didn't work for me started showing some errors.

Hi Guys! Need a lil help! How can I change profile from Codex to my Xbox one? I tried reinstalling the Game but I am still showing as Codex. :( Cant seem to play multiplayer because of it.
It should look like this. Be sure to apply v19 to connect to other v19 players if there's an update 20, just apply the crack and move those 3 files again to new folder or delete it. PS: those 3 files are essential for the game to work in offline mode if you lost your connection.
The dlls are codex64.dll, vcruntime140.cdx and vcruntime140.dll. Just move them to a new folder away from the main .exe file but keep the StateOfDecay2-Win64-Shipping.cdx file inorder for the crack exe to work.
let's wait for update 20, only can be online with fellow v19 users. . . u can still try by moving those crack dll to a new folder away from the bin folders then make a fake microsoft account, enable game overlay ang login with it. once in the main menu if it's still codex just switch users and login the fake account.

Apparently, the updates are the crack files. The download and installation instructions is quite confusing and unclear. I even thought the game download is actually already update v19 just because it said it in the title. The torrent file does not have the crack files, cannot run the game. It just takes me to the game's store page on steam when executing the launcher. Please fix

Same. I had played through a whole 2 runs before I started a third community and got about an hour or two in and did a trader mission to get a valuable item only for it to crash. I was like "huh, that's new." So I started it again and a few minutes in it closed again. I wanted to try once more before investigating and this time it didn't even let me get into the community. Then I remembered that people were having crashes since the green update and it all made sense. Indeed though we're gonna need that 18.1 update. I'll try to ask for it in the request section.
Did you mean it broke a save from an older version, or does saving just not work at all? I'm installing this for the first time, so as long as I can still save, I'll update to 18.
it doesnt open v17 games anymore, at least happend to me. I started a new game again with new survivors and after 2 in game days it CTD and again didnt open the savegame, so even with a fresh start doesnt work. With v17 i got a group surviving 36 days! without a single problem... poor desiree... 1400 zombies killed and counting.. hope to recover her XD. Forgot to mention, happend when the game saves.
I actually ended up trying it anyway and played for about a half hour before saving to see if it would work, and when I loaded the game back up, my save was there. I even checked the settings to make sure I correctly updated to v18, and I did. So saving should work with a fresh install and new game. But I know how you feel about losing a good saved game. It sucks when an update fucks it up.
There's a folder named "Codex" if I remember correctly. Go into there and copy those files into the main game ones. If you updated to the current updates, the updates should also have a codex folder so you can just do it with one of those folders too. Most times the "crack" folder won't be named that. It'll be named after the group that cracked it. In this case it was Codex, so that's where the crack files should be. they should look the same as some of the main game files, like an .exe and other files.
NEVERMIND I fixed it you have to copy the engine and the stateofdecay2 folders into the directory you dont go into the file and copy them into it you replace the folders then it should work i hope this helps any of you if it doesnt contact my discord T08Y33#0589
Disable the Antivirus completely and it will work. Especially real time protection if you use Windows Defender ( which by the way :) its a water gun HAHAAH :)

I installed the game today and when I started playing my character moves left to right non-stop (as if the player says 'no' with his whole body non-stop). Does anyone know what I need to do to fix this?
Has anyone been able to get the daybreak stuff to unlock properly? I beat all waves over 5 times now and still it's only showing the first item in each section unlocked. If anyone knows a cheat or mod to just unlock everything so I can get it in single player that would be much appreciative.
I know its an old comment, but did u find a way to easy unlock stuff? there is some sort of save editor that lets you do it but it requires the original game only so it doesnt work on pirated game, and its annoying to grind endless daybreak over and over again.
No I haven't. There is the "community editor" program for the original which works with this but all that lets you do is straight add the gear to your storage and not unlock it like you played the DLC. I even tried using a trainer hoping to AFK daybreak but it just seems to break the mode. It makes the technician invincible but when the last wave ends I still get the failed message and nothing unlocks. lol

That usually means the crack hasn't been installed yet. You might wanna check if a) your antivirus/windows defender/etc wasn't running and ended up deleting it and b) you copied the crack folder into the game directory properly.

Update v15.1 works great, it fixed the long loading time on faster pc. It took no more than 2 seconds now (using ssd). And multiplayer still works too! Thank you
it means either your windows firewall or your antivirus deleted the file while you were extracting the contents of the zip folder. You'll have to disable them all and re-extract and re-install the content of the game

it works... i tried it... sometimes it crashes... but its pretty quick to join again... but only the host can do shit... the other that join the host world cant really do much besides looting and dropping off at home... not really that fun multiplayer
THERE IS A WAY TO PLAY MULTIPLAYER WITH FRIENDS. First, follow the instructions by Idaero Ace (first comment at the very bottom) to enable multiplayer in State of Decay 2. Once that is done, enable multiplayer in Settings. Go to Settings then Multiplayer, then Enable Host Multiplayer Game. Go to your campaign and from there, press escape on your keyboard to open the side menu and you should see below your profile empty slots. Click on one of the slots and another side menu will appear on the right side. You should see your friend's username from the list of friends. Click to invite. On your friend's side, let him / her accept the invitation to the game. Then a popup should appear that it requires you to open xb-multiplayer or something. Cancel that. Once your friend cancels it. Tell your friend to open the same side menu by pressing escape. Then make him / her click Multiplayer in the side menu. Not the multiplayer tab in the settings. Just Multiplayer. Then the same side menu should appear in the right side. Let your friend join your game by letting him / her click your username from the list. There you have it. You can now join your friend's session in State of Decay 2. Read and follow every step. EDIT: You need to first complete the Prologue / Tutorial in order to unlock the multiplayer mode.

Yes just make sure to copy the whole engine folder and replace it in the game's main files and that the StateOfDecay2-Win64-Shipping.exe will also be replaced in the game's StateofDecay2 folder.
I apologize for my stupidity my friend, I thought MULTIPLAYER meant more than one or two players playing together. Which you can absolutely do that by pressing O in game to open radio and go to multiplayer and start joining other's map or calling for help (so anyone can join your session/map). Tho it's limited up to 4 players per session. I am truly sorry for my ignorant

the steam version(this one) doesn't have pre-order dlc, these are only for the microsoft store version. but I sent a message to the devs because I really wanted those dlcs too and they said that they are trying to implement them in the game, just keep an eye on updates !

When I move forwards my character choice to control has vibrate constantly switching from looking left to right (movement glitch or something?), but it does not do this when I'm in fighting. please help

I had the same problem as him as i detailed in my other post here.It seems there is a few people here and other places that had the same problem.I tried several things i even reinstalled it using the installer to apply the crack automatically.Just in case i didn't apply the crack correctly.Like it was suggested somewhere else.Firewall exceptions.Firewall off.But still didn't work. The only way i can make the game work is waiting for 10 minutes or maybe less in the first screen and then click to start.I shit you not if i click before that the game gives me the ''you need a valid xbox account'' error. After that when the game is loading(sod 2 logo spinning)the time it takes to load varies between 20 and 40 minutes or so. When i finally get to the game options screen and click continue Campaign it takes another 20 minutes or more to start. My PC is relatively new and i have all the settings in low.But even if that was the case when i first started playing the game was set to high and played it for several hours without problems.And the loading was still the same.

The big difference i noticed is the later is way larger then this newer one the older one i have is over 30 gb while this one is 17gb i was thinking maybe they cut something out or compressed everything but good question i was wondering the same thing
State of Decay 2 is microsofts version as this one is steam version. There might be some other key differences? I know the microsoft version was a pain in the ass to get working after one of the windows updates though.
I finally found the reason why i got this error.It was the damn firewall.If you have one.Either uninstall it or reinstall it.That piece of shit firewall was not just causing this errors and long ass loading times.It also crashed the game after some point.I didn't realize it.Until i i checked event viewer.After a crash.After i uninstalled it.It worked without problems no more errors and the loading times problems were gone too.

There're like two successive Juggernauts (the fat dude) spawned near my home site, and they're like a pain in the arse to kill. Yup. State of decay 1's juggernaut is not this hard I believe.
I get my survivor to base and then close the game. When I start the game again, my survivor is in a different location (the last house I searched), but the car that I drove is parked in the base. So I guess the game saved that I reached the base with my car but didn't save my survivor inside the base? Any help with this?

No worries i just checked again and Man i tried to click just as the game loaded and got the same error of verified account blah blah blah.I tried again and waited for 15 minutes before clicking and...it worked(you see the sod 2 logo spinning).Then it took another 15 minutes or more to just get to the menu where you pick an option to start a campaign or other game options and then when i finally choose to continue campaign i think it might have took another 20 minutes just to start.This shit is weird i don't understand what it's going on with this game or my own PC or it's the crack itself. Forgot to add something.You can alt-tab while you wait for the game to load.After you click start campaign and the game finally starts it will switch automatically.
there is a easier way worked for me block StateOfDecay2.exe in your firewall but don't block StateOfDecay2-Win64-Shipping.exe if you block StateOfDecay2-Win64-Shipping.exe you will get “Login Failed: State of Decay 2 requires a valid Xbox Live account.”
Been there done that.I still get the valid xbox live account error.What i have noticed is that any time i exit the game for example to the main menu.It takes a shitload of time...like between 15 and 20 minutes.It's a pain in the ass but it's doable if you are patient and just do something else but the problem is that sometimes the game tends to freeze and back to square one.

the game is optimized for the Xbox, more GPU less CPU theres not much to do.. some people complain their room heats up like a sauna. When you played the dark souls 1 game on PC, right after its frist release, did it looked like hardware/software problems ? it probably was... But the game was almost running on an emulator mode.

Back then DRMs that would ruin games, Make you have to jump hoops to play games, Some games you needed online connection just to play them, So it was better to pirate them, But steam was different, It didn't ruin the games, you got adventages like steam workshop, Steam discussions, support from devs and automatic updates. I haven't played this game since the first crack release and although I had my fun, I got sidetracked and ended it up deleting it on accident. Try this:
NOTE: I found this error and fixed it in Update v19
and paste it to the Game directory
It should look like this. Be sure to apply v19 to connect to other v19 players if there's an update 20, just apply the crack and move those 3 files again to new folder or delete it. PS: those 3 files are essential for the game to work in offline mode if you lost your connection.
Just move them to a new folder away from the main .exe file but keep the StateOfDecay2-Win64-Shipping.cdx file inorder for the crack exe to work.

First, follow the instructions by Idaero Ace (first comment at the very bottom) to enable multiplayer in State of Decay 2.
Once that is done, enable multiplayer in Settings. Go to Settings then Multiplayer, then Enable Host Multiplayer Game.
Go to your campaign and from there, press escape on your keyboard to open the side menu and you should see below your profile empty slots. Click on one of the slots and another side menu will appear on the right side. You should see your friend's username from the list of friends. Click to invite.
On your friend's side, let him / her accept the invitation to the game. Then a popup should appear that it requires you to open xb-multiplayer or something. Cancel that. Once your friend cancels it. Tell your friend to open the same side menu by pressing escape. Then make him / her click Multiplayer in the side menu. Not the multiplayer tab in the settings. Just Multiplayer. Then the same side menu should appear in the right side. Let your friend join your game by letting him / her click your username from the list.
There you have it. You can now join your friend's session in State of Decay 2. Read and follow every step.

The only way i can make the game work is waiting for 10 minutes or maybe less in the first screen and then click to start.I shit you not if i click before that the game gives me the ''you need a valid xbox account'' error.
After that when the game is loading(sod 2 logo spinning)the time it takes to load varies between 20 and 40 minutes or so.
When i finally get to the game options screen and click continue Campaign it takes another 20 minutes or more to start.
My PC is relatively new and i have all the settings in low.But even if that was the case when i first started playing the game was set to high and played it for several hours without problems.And the loading was still the same.

Just wanted to add a bit more info.A few weeks ago i tried to install gears 4 and got the same problem.I also had the original SOD 2 until it stopped working due to a windows update.I uninstalled both games a while ago.The only one that i have installed and might be related it's the original SOD Yose Edition.I also blocked the game in the firewall.

Back then DRMs that would ruin games, Make you have to jump hoops to play games, Some games you needed online connection just to play them, So it was better to pirate them, But steam was different, It didn't ruin the games, you got adventages like steam workshop, Steam discussions, support from devs and automatic updates.
Steam just has a different look, The DRM isn't meant to stop you from pirating games, It's just that you won't get any of the sweet benefits if you did.

that aside dead state 2 are one of project to bait user to upgrade to win 10. off course it was incompatible with previous windows even tho the game require nothing crucial from win 10 that win 7 cant handle.
