Ok so, this is supposed to be the new November update, but no matter what I tried, I could not get the game to start. There is only black screen after the Ori loading screen. After downloading and running the May update successfully, I have realized, that this current download is missing a large chunk of crucial game files. At least 3 GB worth of data, to be exact. May version is 14.4 GB, and this November version is only 11.3 GB. A proper version of this update will need to be uploaded.
The May 14 version works perfectly for me. A new patch was also released on November 20, 2020, which supposedly fixes the black screen issue. I guess we should start requesting the update on here.
i think i diden't do it right, i tried to extract the part 1 to the Ori_and_the_Will_of_the_Wisps-HOODLUM folder and there was no game in it and then i tried to extract both the files to the folder and i got the same result. another question, is part 2 supposed to be 221 mg?
I see some of you got a red herring when opening the "setup.exe" file. I had my doubts too but as my computer is just for gaming, I really don't have any information to lose. I added an exception on windows defender for the mounted drive (ISO) and ran the setup. It will open a weird-looking window (childish) but you get to install the game. Don't hit crack as it's not needed. After it finished installing, I put back the exception to block the ISO again and voilΓ‘! The game runs and I could play it. There are always risks when downloading these type of files but as far as I can tell, the installer seems to be clean.

You can still play games even if you have lower RAM than needed. Windows takes care about Virtual Memory automatically. Just don't expect that the games will always behave perfectly.
Help, i turned off the antivirus before extracting and installing, the game won't open, is it no compatible on win 8? (doesn't even have an uninstaller now that i check.) Another problem I had is that the installer would not let me change the installation path, I could change it after making millions of clicks on the button lol... now i can't do it again. :(
An update patch was released a few weeks ago(?) that would solve the issue. Unfortunately, it hasn't been updated yet here. I downloaded this game again 3 days ago to see if they did. Just gonna have to wait.

my gpu usage is close to 100% everytime I run the game but the game runs great - great graphics - great everything ... and I have only 8 GB of ram - the minimum recommended ... but they dont go to 100%

So after 2 weeks i donwloaded it again but i run in the same problem. Game not opening after succesifull installation with no antivirus. I tried again a couple of day ago and everything went ok. I also recvered my lost saves and the black screen problem resolved itself. The only anomaly I got was in the game play (I got stuck outside of the map sometimes, and had a bad time trying to enter again in the map) Everything else went perfect.
Don't worry guys there is a patch that Moon Studios is working on,not sure when is the patch coming out,but it is said in the coming days,seen it in the Steam Community Page http://thing.you can check what are the things they fix and what they are still working on.
opening setup.exe in the iso makes my computer get just a pop-up window saying the file wasn't executed as it contains a virus or possibly unwanted software. wth is causing this?
For me the audio keeps lagging and the GPU usage is also ridiculously high (like 90%). Anyone knows a fix or will it be patched or is it just the crack?
I tried moving it to my SSD drive, and it runs a whole lot better. The audio issues are also gone. But now it registers the left and right trigger on my controller as the same button so yeah....no way to play it with a controller. Im just gonna wait for a patch.....really disappointing :/
yeah, better wait for a patch. I did move to SSD too, didn't do better. (it was a pain in the ass to move to the SSD since it's the default drive and it was almost full)
the game is too big to make it a single file so its splitted on two files, what u have to do is download both files on same folder and when u press extract on one of the files, it will start extracting from both files like if it was one file
this game was stupid to install......i had to log into admin account then turn off my antivirus AND windows defender -_- but this game is fucking wooooooorth it holy shit. The only other game i dled and played immediately for a couple hours straight was octopath.

I cant really game while downloading, true, but i mostly let it run at night so its alright. And my go to is mega, max number of parts i ever downloaded at once was like 8 for borderlands 3, and since megabasterd is a thing, thats not a problem either. But i guess it depends on the speed of your internet.

well, i kind solve. i game on my notebook with a external monitor, i realize that when i game only on the notebook screen it works, or if i run the screens in duplicate mode or if i configure the external monitor at 125% scale
same problem, its something with my gpu (nvidia gtx 1050ti) because when i turn it off the game runs, unplayable, but run. the same thing happens with cuphead, but cuphead i can play because it can run in a potato, so there is no need for gpu
Hello i have the same antivirus as you , this happens to me a lot of time, if the antivirus is bitdefender uninstalled it, this antivirus is a headache when you pirate with having it installed, install avira antivirus or kaspersky ,or just use windows defender and have common sense ,believe me , you will thank me later, the antivirus change the privileges of the file that has been delected by it , making it impossible to move or copy, or even re-downloading it, wanna know why because when you unzip the file that has the crack , it wont come with the crack due you too the antivirus blacklisted the crack somehow,( this happens even if the antivirus is disabled ) , and dont believe that fake shit , its another false positive

Game runs fine but WAY too many sound glitches during cutscenes and stuttering. Is there something that can be done about this or do I need to just wait for a new version?
I downloaded 2 parts. I put them in the same folder. I started extracting them with WinRAR. When it's near completion i get checksum error. I re-downloaded 2 parts again and same error is displayed. I dont know if you solved your problem,but here is the steps for Google Drive when too many viewer message appears: 1.You need a G-Drive Account its free,so dont worry. 2.Click on the google-links/parts,you will see too many viewers. 3.Click in the adressbar/line,it look like this: //drive google com/uc?id...,change the word "uc" to "open" and press enter. 4.Now you have darker screen,in the right upper corner are 4 icons/symbols,click on the first one,it should say something like my drive. Click on it. 5.Now you are in your G-Drive-Account(if not,just open your G-dribe account).You should see the download(usually the file name). 6.Rightclick on the file and choose make a copy,then you see a copy of that file,rightclick on the copy and choose download. Remember after download to delete all files in account,G-Drive has only 15GB(means 3 downloads at once,after that just delete files in account,also the ones in the bin). You can do it all over again. AND thats it. I hope this will help at least for the future.
WARNING:kids, remember this game got released yesterday and obviously like any recent released games there will be bugs, after all it was made using the unity engine and some of us know how shitty its that engine the same thing happened to blind forest it got bugs and they fixed until the definitive edition and i have no doubt this probably will have one too
Hey Brother, im from Portugal, stil using an windows 7, and i didn't had any problems at all regarding to bugs. I did, however experienced some minor bugs in smoothness and Sound glitches in Windows 10. Windows XP dind't have had any problems either. i did not tested in win 8 nor either 8.1, sorry
I already finished it.There werent any for me. Its not game devs problem that most people use windows 10 which is real culprit. Win 10 is a buggy mess and devs and all other people r forced to use it cause microsoft is funding them and keep pushing for win 10.It is still in beta.Those stutter r caused when win 10 is screwing up communication with graphics driver. Game crashed after cutscene on win 10 and so i installed on my win 7. It was smooth as butter.

After I got the power to use hook bullets/monster/plants etc to jump further the screen became black and I can't resolve this. Ori is moving, consuming energy and everything but the screen is black, i can see the click, the life/energy and the skills.Everything else seem to be perfect. What happened to that part of the game? Edit. After 4 hours of game I can't open it anymore. Not even in administrator mode.
Copy your save, uninstall the game and then reinstall it. That's the best way to resolve it I think. I haven't ran into any game breaking bugs like that yet, but I do get a sound break in the music every now and then, but it's really rare.

Maybe try this: Switch audio device to stereo 48KHz in sound control before playing game. 1.Right-Click on the littel speaker icon,select sound. 2.Choose Playback,click your speakers and click on properties 3.Now you choose Advance at top,here you can choose inside Standartformat the quality.Example:24bit,41000hz to 24bit 48000hz. I hope this works,there are user they did this way and worked.
It still doesn't work. My previous settings were already 48000hz but 16 bit. Then I changed it to 48000hz 24 bit as you said, but still doesn't work. Thank you for your reply though
theres many issues reported in the steam forums sound bugs, sluttering and other things if you look at the game testers here you will see some of them even with their beefy machines are having troubles

it depends of the size of the game. If the game is heavy and has multiple parts, I highly recommend you use the magnet link (torrent). Otherwise try direct links. It also depends on what you think is better (torrent has an"upside" and downside. The "upside" is that you can interrupt downloads and like separate it on multiple days or even weeks. The downside is that torrents often have slow download speed.)

your comment is not deleted, its just needs to be approved first since your saying the game is harmful which is not true. the trojan warning is a false positive that happens with many crack files, but assuming it is actually a trojan, why would it make your pc blue screen? thats not what trojans do because that doesnt benefit anyone. it sounds like your pc has some pre-existing problems if it froze while installing, and restarting while installing may have corrupted some windows files resulting in the blue screen. you should try booting up windows in safe mode, and doing a system restore. you can also open file explorer find the hard drive that your pc boots on right click it go to the tools tab and check for errors. another method is going to control panel and search the word "memory" then use that diagnostic to find and fix errors. hopefully this will fix your pc problems
It had finished installing, and not all files that should be installed were there, andi while I was going to try to delete everything and try again, it froze, I waited some minutes and nothing, so I tried restarting it, and then it happened, thank you for the tips, I guess it wasn't the file after all, and i'll pay even more atention from now on, honestly I was expecting useless people making fun of me, but I guess that wasn't the case, thanks! Yea it "installed" ori and the will of the wisps,only the data folder and then the pc froze, and when I restarted it, there is a file missing and I can't acess my pc anymore , also before I launched the installer, I had the anti virus activated and it said it was a trojan, I trusted igg games and allowed it, guess I was stupid to believe this....
I've played the definitive version of the first and loved it. I was just stating an observation I made. Context is everything dude. Also, don't forget about another similarity where you find a guy traveling around that sells maps.
its not the program that their using, its the fact that its a modified exe or the installer makes use of system registry so the files are similar to the way trojans/virus' are distributed and AV programs have the "better safe than sorry" mentality so they remove them
