I downloaded it and I still get their same error

finally had a look at this today. in case anyone is interested, here's how i got it working under win10 (my old xp machine runs it without any finagling):
i took some of the advice from wildtangent's page on the matter, but to keep it simpler don't bother with anything there besides getting the 'persistent' folder established. to put it briefly, you'll need to create this on your windows drive (probably c):

this should enable the 1280x768 wide resolution. if there's still trouble try changing the top line's value to 1024 (this is how i got past the problem initially.)
okay, so to get the game reading that file at all, you'll need some junk added to the registry. i took this from https://igg-games.com/fate-1-2-3-free-181419072-download.html ...sort of. SetupReg.exe doesn't work right under 10 either. so the next thing is to and paste the following to a new notepad:

you'll need to change the "InstallDirectory" values to the correct path to the game, then save it as fate3.reg (on desktop or wherever) and run it. it only adds a few entries to the registry, so don't worry if windows squawks about it. then you're done. play the game!

I get runtime error to what do i do

You guys are missing the Persistent folder in the game to apply the fix that wildtangent released so this is straight up unplayable on win10.

Your version of Fate: The Traitor Soul provides a runtime error if attempting to run on Windows 10. WildTanget provides a workaround (https://support.wildtangent..., but the issue is that there is no "Persistent" folder in the directory of your version of the game, so that fix cannot be applied.
As of right now, your version of this game is unplayable on Windows 10. Any word on a fix for this issue?
