This is one of the rare singleplayer games I would gladly spend money on just for being so original and showing that I appreciate the pure artistry that went into making it. However the developer abandoning updating the game is a massive letdown to anyone who spent money on it.
The base game is insanely good. Its worth replaying 3 or 4 times but there isn't enough content for more than that. If they wanted to add a new chapter every month for 2$ each or 10$ for a lifetime of torment edition, many fans wouldn't hesitate to pay it, even now.
pretty good game but it would have a larger following if it were in english some important spots its in japanese or chinese and as an english player i have no idea what the heck is going on because of the language barrier! a good part is translated butfor me it's not enough! I really hope they make an english version!
Lol this was made by an English speaker. The Japanese flavor text is decoration. Whatever it means is either irrelevant or has an English translation under it.
This game is 100% playable in English though what are you talking about? The Japanese letters are just flavor text, and most of the time it's translated. Also the game is originally in English.
Yeah I think so, because everything else looks updated, like the custom mod section or when you hover the mouse over the "continue" option and it says that saving and loading will be enabled in the Halloween update. Edit: Yeah, look in the bottom right of the main menu, it said 0.9.16!
Yeah, the reason for this is because .0.9.16 is just a modding update with some bug fixes. The menu only shows the latest content update (new cases, features, etc). From the looks of things there's gonna be a Halloween update real soon too.
I think there are missing files in the download. IDK because of Antivirus but I'll redownload again. EDIT; Just checked, there is no steamapi64.dll and steam_appid files in it. Could be why it's not running
Windows antivirus will automatically quarantine and eventually remove those files because it falsely flags them as viruses. You may have to allow them manually.
You are missing 3 files. steam_api.dll steam_api64.dll steam_appid Generally, when a game is missing these, I just copy and paste these from a different game's folder from this site.
The thing is, there have been no correlation between piracy and loosing out on a sale of the pirated game. This is a debate that has gone around in circles for years. The thing that is known, has been studied and has the numbers to back it up is this: A downloaded pirated copy does not automatically mean a lost in sale. Technically yeah, it could be considered a lost sale because someone has a copy that they didn't pay for, but odds are, they most likely wouldn't have bought the game anyway if there was no pirated copy to be had in the first place. Most people d/l the games because it's there and it's free and chances are, if they really do like the game it's a pretty safe bet they end up buying it on console OR buying it outright because of missing features etc. I'm all about supporting indie games more than any other, if I really like the game I d/l (SubNautica, Terraria, Stardew Valley, Dark Woods, Sunless Sea etc etc) I'll buy it on console if available or PC. Early access games are a different beast tho but if you do find yourself enjoying the game, you should buy it at some point to support it's development.
you probably wont believe this, but in some countries, even if they are willing to sacrifice their 13 us dollars per working day (which is 12 hours not 8), its simply not possible to buy the game, like there are not any methods for money transactions, even if you have access to internet (and yes internet connection is actually affordable in some "third world countries" and you actually need it for daily life)
NO MONEY is a auto-lie bro, that mean I'm rich and I don't know it for have 10 bucks, yeah!! I said precisely cause 10 is nothing for this kind of game.
I want to give them money they deserve but I'm not giving because I don't have enough time to actually enjoy the game ! I have played like few hours a day and I can't even finished games I already brought...so yeah...A lot of games to play but not enough play time is stopping me from actually brought just to support...games...I just don't wanna spend money on this and trouble my self playing... You know, the feeling you had when you don't wanna start playing the game or simply not knowing what to expected from it, but once you get to actually playing it, and then just keep going at it until you drop or it's ends...and then the rest is turns into just memories...It's that kind of feeling that I refrain me from actually keep doing it...
I get your point and understand it. I simply can't support the devs sometimes. Sometimes it's even hard to buy food (yes I work). I try to support them with fanarts - and nice reviews on the game. Till I can actually buy that game. (And most of the times the bought game rots in my game library - since I already finished the pirated one)
wtf is wrong with you, does fear rule every decision you make? I have crippling anxiety so every day for me is a struggle to get out of bed. To say you don't want to support something you like for the reason you stated; means you might as well not breath for fear of suffocating.
its playable but there are part where it crashes for me, like using the tiny key or going into the light house, THEN again is could be wine causing it to crash "linux user here" sooo there is that.

for modding purposes
Edit: Fixed it, antivirus removed steam_api without notifying me. Added file to excluded files.
steam_api.dll
steam_api64.dll
steam_appid

Edit1: Is this game "story" in full version? Or just ... half-way work in progress?
