Decent game, it's an openworld RPG/Roguelike with atmosphere and world similar to Darkest Dungeon. Personally it just made me want to play more of Doors of Trithius(a game less focused on being gloomy and more on being well designed and enjoyable) and to give Bastard Bonds finally a try(seems like it's a game that does a dark setting in a more interesting and uncompromising way).
buddy 32 bits is already outdated, it was already outdated for years but still recieved some support, with windows no longer supporting 32 since 2020 its dead, dead dead, no 32 bits hardware is getting made and a lot of programs are discontinuing support, just get a newer pc/motherboard

check the antivirus if have put the steam_api.dll on the trashcan of virus and restore. this happen for me sometimes is a false alarm of the antivirus :P
Need help, the game wont work and it doesn't show me what the problem is, I just formatted my pc a couple days ago so it could be a Windows Security problem but the Windows Defender isn't blocking anything named Steam API like comment below say, i tried to download a steam API from a DLL site but it still doesn't show me what the problem is, all help is appreciated

Kickstart backer here. The devs are stubborn little shits who can program for nuts. They work slow as snails and are stubborn, pandering to toxic hardcore nutjobs. They already have earn enough. No need to support them. Please 'try' this game as much as you want and don't feel guilty about it. The only highlight is the graphic artist.

i managed to run it by allowing the steam_api.dll file in windows defender, because apparently it detects the file as a virus and prevents the game to run. hope this helps
for those who can't get it working: open your Steam, find any game, click on it's settings, then Properties, then switch to the Local Files tab, then Browse Local Files, and look to see if there is a steam_api.dll file in it. If there is, copy that file into your Stoneshard folder and try to boot it up. Repeat with a different game if it only brings you to the Stoneshard steam page. It takes a bit, but it worked for me.

A beta version is still very buggy and not really playable. Here, it's playable, but until you see it reached v1.0, it's still early access and in development. Personally, I don't play this game because I think it's going to be GREAT, so I wait until it's really complete. 😄
Thanks. It fixed the issue for me, although my first attempt pasting the API caused the game to boot up Steam and load me to StoneShard's steam page. I also found that the API files seemed to have different file sizes for different games, although that could just be my imagination. My second attempt worked after I pasted the steam api from HackNet. Thanks for the help!

I've read the reviews for the recent update and apparently it fucks with the save mechanic on levels that cannot be described. I am happy they decided to revert back to the old version.
The details of the save update seems to be that you can only save at taverns now. They got rid of the autosaving and you also cannot manual save. That is a problem because you could possibly spend hours on something, go back to the tavern to save, screw up, and lose hours upon hours of progress. I think the admins will only put 5.8.3 back after they fix this issue.

Np save anywhere make the game easy and auto save is broke because autosaving when you have a hungerstaste without food/money is always dead or autosaving can make you lost in a random place of the map
Yeah, it's pretty sad honestly. The reviews used to be very good. There were a lot of good ones and very few bad ones. However, the recent update made the negative reviews spike pretty drastically.
If you scroll down, you can see the review statistics and they don't look good. Basically 80% reviews are just people complaining about the save update
so unless they fixed this issue , there's no point in asking for this game to be updated at the moment. better wait for a few months for the next update maybe

the game is good but I wish theres an indicator on the map telling me where I am...got accidentally lost by missing one or two blocks away from town in the map and got ambushed hard by bandit in the forest
I learned the game the hard way...you can actually play it safe by following the road in the map it takes longer time (you'll get hungry & thirsty more often) but the road being broad and open having less chance of being ambush by bandits or pack of wolves which is annoying encounter in the forest...while the forest is more of a shortcut its not a safe route unless your level is high enough
if your save are from 0.5.7.5 u must start game again :( i have done this :( and what more i cant find a book what i find on the old save. Pyromantic book lvl 4:(
im not suer i played 0.5.7.5 and they updated to v0.5.7.12 and i couldnt so i think in later version still will not work but u should can try myself and test
cryengine 2 is a fucking PC murderer because its more cpu demanding than gpu it only use 1 core and push it to the limit with the risk to end badly damaged you got lucky that your cpu didnt get fucked up man even me with my 1080 ti and my i7 6th gen i dont have balls to take the risk with that game
So, Stoneshard doesn't seem to work properly, don't quite know what is happening. it starts for a few seconds(2) with a white screen then it just closes. even the proccess.
You need to add the "steamapi.dll" from the download to the exceptions list in your AV. Mine was silently deleting it every time I unpacked the game. I went to the quarantine tab and manually restored it & added it to the whitelist, the game worked fine afterwards.

You should use roads as landmarks, it makes navigating way easier. Whenever you need to travel, have a look at the map first and remember points that have 3-way road
u dont need when u remove game th save still is if im not wrong its somewhere in Appdata the most save are stored there so after unpack updated version of game the game sill start search your older save and it fine but u will get message the save are with older version of game and u must start game from the begining if u really wanna know where the save are stored give me some time and i will find Edit: exactly this folder is save game C:\Users\your user\AppData\Local\StoneShard

This was the first thing I tried, to no prevail. Had to use the previous steam_api.dll, since I could never get this file to unpack even with exceptions made. Seems to work fine now.... hmm, strange.
I used the steam_api.dll from the previous downloaded package (beta 0.5.7.5). Copied it from the previous package and placed it in the 0.5.7.12 folder where the .exe file is. Unless, you have the earlier download, I don't think this will be much help to you.
well ... as of 02/08/2019 (update 0.5.7.5), I did all of the quests from the primary town and the seccond town... The seccond town quests are over and the first town's quests keep looping over and over... Besides the very annoying save method ( I agree that it shouldnt be easy... but the way it is atm is just too much in my opion.... And the seccond town doesnt have a better quality cloth vendor yet... That set aside, the game is really good with a really nice feel of an Turn based RPG... it has some diabloish aspects like the builds and points, and also some touch of darkest dungeon.. with your character status changing according to what happens in the battle... I went as a Pyromancer and i dont regret it! Cant wait until the full game launches !

The saving of the game got changed in the update of last night. You are now able to save at camps that you cleared out. (The camp positioning and frequency also got adjusted to go with this) This should make it a lot more playable for a lot of people. I would just like to save whenever I want as I die very often, but I guess that would make it too easy. :'( Now we just need that version here.

Yeah, hi, there are poor countries in the world where ther IS no starbucks and a coffee costs 1$ or less not 5$ or more. Many of us can't afford new PC's yet alone buying games. That being said, many of us still support indie devs, but the Starbucks thing is a little tired.

In essence, EAs are for people who have more money than common sense. It's basically a way to "donate" to keep developers afloat, much like Patreon. I say "donate" earnestly. Because paying for something implies you're going to get something in return, whereas with EAs all you really get until proven otherwise are promises and hopes. EA means that you are aware that it might have bugs, glitches and are unfinished sometimes its not easy to tolerate that and the worst part is that those EA take long periods to be released or they are simply abandoned
No, I would rather have a finished game, than one being released with no guarantee that it will ever be finished. Many of the AAA studios are starting to fall back on the "Early Access" crutch as well- releasing games that are buggy messes and then trying to clean it up afterward.

This game is currently a VERY early access version. The developers ESTIMATE that the game will be complete in 2 years. Their previous estimations were off by almost a year. From what I've seen the game is something like in an ALPHA state right now, with not even the intended game-play loop being complete (The Caravan feature which makes it more a roguelike than an RPG is not yet implemented). It might be best to let this one sit and develop before trying, or risk getting a bad impression and not bothering with it when it shapes into something nice later down the line. It's up to you !
It was a reference to the making of Diablo 1... Stoneshard is like the version of Diablo that was supposed to be released but got changed to real time and they cut the need to eat because of time constraints.
