okay okay I am HERE TO HELP: FOR ALL OCCULUS USERS LOOK ON HERE I have figured it out and will share with all of you ! Step 1: Right Click on TWD icon and choose Create Shortcut Step 2: Right Click on TWD - Shortcut and choose Properties Step 3: in Target: you add -steam at the end (as shown in picture) Step 4: Launch Game Step 5: (I'm assuming you're using virtual desktop and the game will load via Steam VR). Open Settings (NOTE: YOU CAN EITHER DO THIS ON YOUR PC OR IN YOUR QUEST by pressing both menu buttons on your controllers at once) Step 6: Choose Manage Controller Bindings Step 7: Choose CUSTOM Step 8: Choose CHOOSE ANOTHER Step 9: Choose your game mine is called "TWD-WIN64-SHIPPING" Step 10: Activate any bindings in this menu ( i have circled a few for reference ). Try which ever one that works best for you. As you can see there's an official binding from the developers and also saved bindings from other players with similar issues as us. So please try what deems best for you! I have been looking far and wide to find answers and it's been super annoying and tedious to find different types of answers from more than one person. So I hope doing this will help anyone else running into the same issues as me ! Note: IDK if you guys will run into the same issue as me when it came to using my quest joy stick to move, but I had to click down on my thumbstick every time I wanted to walk. So if anyone is running into the same issue, that's how i over came it. I haven't tried out enough of the other saved bindings from other players, so maybe that wouldn't been issue with other bindings. Therefore, just try them all out Hope this helps guys!
Thank you for the detailed guide, but the "Choose another" option does not appear in my SteamVR. The program is telling me to launch steam to edit bindings which I have done, but it still says that. Any suggestions?
To anyone wondering if they could transfer their save data from an old build without the Aftershock dlc-yes, yes you can. Everything you have as well as objects placed down in game are saved along with any story progression. In my experimentation, I have found that as soon as you download the new updated version, it automatically detects your saves. It reads off of the save file from the old build which could be located at C:/Users/(username)/AppData/Local/TWD. I suggest to anyone that reads this to make a backup just in case. If you cannot see the AppData folder in Users, that means you do not have it to where you could see hidden files. If you don't know how to enable hidden items, just look up "how to view hidden files"
For anyone having the crashing issues on startup, create a shortcut of TWD.exe and make sure the shortcut has -steam in the target at the end. When I made my shortcut, it already had it, but it never hurts to double check. Worked for me, hopefully for you guys too.
I haven't played this game on my quest 2 yet, but the the method I used to get half life alyx to work was by using quest link (opening "meta quest link" on your pc and then launching quest link through your vr headset) , then opening steam vr (through either your vr or pc). You can either load into the steam vr home or be on the loading screen with the red and blue mountain ranges, and when you are at this step launch the game through your pc. That worked for me after struggling for quite awhile to launch HLVR
No, I just bought the both games so I could move the save file and it didn't even work because the cracked and legit versions have different save file locations
Nevermind I fixed it, apparently pirated chapter 2 has the same saves as chapter one. I just deleted a save from chapter one and bought chapter 2 legit, imported my save, quit the game and put the chapter 2 save game in the chapter one folder. So if you want to import saves you need to buy both games and then refund again
I got a Quest 2, connected, lets me play all the vr games I have no problem, but this one just pops up with an error saying that I dont have a valid vr headset connected, when I do. Also im using Link, not virtual desktop
As far as I know, you cant use quest 2 Virtual Desktop with it, only Link...
You can manage to launch the game if you go to VD tray icon and use the "Launch Game" option (remembering to select the .exe on TWD>Binaries>Win64, NOT the TWD.exe), but thats about it, the controls don't work.
And since its cracked, you can't access community workshop to download community bindings, you could manually setup all bindings, but you would have to see a screenshot or video of which binding goes where, I think someone who own the game could help us.
If someone own the game on steam and are reading this, post a screen shot of all Oculus Touch controller bindings that are working from the workshop (and if you're having more problems, also remember there is an official fix for Virtual Desktop users if you google it)
It does not let me extract the .rar file. It has a "Disc Image File" and it keeps telling me I have to get a new volume or something like that. Any fixes for this?
group up the parts in one folder and highlight all of them then left click and select "extract to" (you need winrar for this), after that install normally using the installer if there's any and copy over the crack. Your saves should be located in: C:\Users[username]\AppData\Local\TWD\Saved Make a copy of those files before reinstalling the new version with DLC, paste the files back in once you've reinstalled the game and if the saves are compatible with the new version(if the version difference is too big sometimes it doesn't) it'll work.
Ok I got it. You can't play it with steam VR using oculus quest. So it's unplayable using virtual desktop but properly installed oculus link will launch it without using steamVR somehow and that works fine.
It works flawlessly with the Quest 1, can't see a reason the Quest 2 would be any different via Oculus link(Airlink and Virtual Desktop might not work though)
it does however you needed to have "-steam" at the end of the shortcut path to make it work got patched about 2 months ago only just now did people start asking for a fix in mass and got it that being some thing like "-steam". all cracked steam games should already have this anyways to avoid it in the future for other games.

Use ALVR or Bigscreen VR. Once its installed on your headset you can download this game, then run it while ALVR or Bigscreen is open on your headset, the headset should auto connect to the game, I use virtual desktop so im not sure if its the same, but I use cracked games on my quest 2 using virtual desktop and i think its worth the 20 dollars

Hello I have a problem with the crack of Saints and sinner. The game has 7 different packs 6 in 5 and 1 in 1.5 gb size. On my hard drive is still 70 Gb free but whenever I try to unpack the winRar data always comes the message that I do not have enough space. Some of the smaller environment objects are missing for me. I see their baked in shadows (basically black shapes on the ground) and checked some walkthrough videos and they are visible there. Did anyone experienced the same issue?
Yup, bought the game and can confirm that this version is bugged. Some of the smaller scattered props (wooden planks, bricks, paper) are missing and you only see their ugly black shadows on the ground.

I found fix for controllers not working in menu on Quest2. When inside steamVR options change controllers configuration and activate one of the people's configs. I used some guy's config with vive and after that I clicked right stick and it worked. Just mess around in steamvr controllers bindings with configs that people upload. Sry for my english. Hope it helps.

Just tried it on Quest 2 and it worked perfectly. And for anyone having the problem where it loads into a black screen then eventually crashing after a few moments as mentioned above in the featured comments, here's a little more details on how to fix. Just go to the folder as shown in his comment and right click on the TWD icon, not the one with the folder, but the one with the picture. After right clicking, make a shortcut by sending it to the desktop. Then go to the shortcut and rightclick. Choose properties and the Shortcut tab. Go to the target section and click once anywhere in the text. Now just hold down the right directional key on your keyboard until the text cursor is as far left as it can go. Ok, now all you have to do is press the spacebar once, then a minus sign, then the word steam. And thats it, Your done, press apply and ok. Now just double click the new shortcut and enjoy.

Hey. I have a small issue. Ive installed games the same way from this site all the time. You extract all the parts then open the .iso. You go in the .iso and run the installer. When its done you eject the new drive that shows up. It worked perfectly fine for me. But, for my friend, instead of making a new drive called THE WALKING DEAD SAINTS AND SINNERS, it renamed his already existing D drive with all his stuff on it to that. And its not giving him permission to rename it.

When I launch the game and use virtual desktop through my oculus quest, it won't detect the controllers. It will ask me to use HTC controllers and to recallibrate or something. Also, the controllers are invisible though the beam of selection is still there. Stuck like that in the main menu of the game and can't play.
You have click on the pause button wich opens the steam thingy and then just go to binds, there is no official support for saints and sinners on oculus quest.
how did you even install this? I downloaded all the parts and now what do I do? I extracted the first part and I got an ISO file which I assume is what the other ones have to how do I combine them??
I figured out the problem of not being able to add the -steam to the target. i put -steam after the ". like this: TWD-Win64-Shipping.exe" -steam Hope this helps, it did for me :)
FOUND THE FUCKING ANSWERS!!!!. First listen to what ashouri said then do what kupoking said. If you get a message retrace the destination of the file like where the .exe file will be found and fix it to it's proper spot. Add me on discord if you need more help HaxGod#7507.
For those who -steam isn't working for you must have steam installed after that you open it press the add a game on the bottom left find TWD.exe if you cant find it press browse and navigate to the folder you have it installed in add the game and wait a bit for the game to appear after that press on the game press the cog wheel on the right then click on properties then click on set launch options and type -steam click OK and launch the game
There is a way to play it you have to use something called ALVR and change the mode under options to vive. If that dosent work just use a link oculus now supports the charging cable for link. I have been using the link with the quest for a few days and it works fine.
try adding "-steam" into launching properties and laucnh the game from VD games tab ... otherwise thats all I know that could help, I just basically also started solving these issues

I found out how to make this game work with Oculus Quest (ALVR) All you need to do is open ALVR and go to 'Other' and change the Headset Emulation mode to 'HTC Vive'.

I was able to get it sorted out i started steam and steam vr loaded the game then I was able to mod or change the controller setup to one that says its TWD and that one is able to control the game

For the life of me I can't get this to work. I'm using the latest version of VD (1.10.1) and have added the game to oculus home and steam but it will not show under Games in VD and launching it from SteamVR gives me controller mapping issues.. works fine using link though!
I finally managed to get this working last night on my Quest using the Hotfix and the new Virtual Desktop beta 1.9.8. Great to see it working and untethered but, I have a strange problem. Walking is backwards! If I push forward on my left thimb stick, I go backwards and vice versa. I'm using the correct bindings and there is no option to reverse the control. Why would this be happening?
Go to the shortcut you just created (located on the desktop or etc.).
Right click on that shortcut -> select "Properties" -> In the "Target" field, add the command line parameter "-steam" to the end of the path. For example, we will have: C:\The.Walking.Dead.Saints.Sinners\TWDSaintsAndSinners\TWD\Binaries\Win64\TWD-Win64-Shipping.exe -steam Done and enjoy like i do :)

Download, install, play had no problems with my Samsung straightaway worked. Make sure you update everything first like windows, revive, steam, nivida etc. Once all installed add shortcut to desktop and add a space then -steam eg (" -steam).
On my samsung odyssey plus I cannot retrieve the journal it does not light up on person and cannot be seen, could somebody help me, it will not let me play until I can retrieve the journal.
Never had that problem at all just press the grip butter at your chest should grab it. Only problem I've had has been switch the light on in Lone Echo.
i just used a bunch of premium link generators to download the files. only took about an hour to download all 8 parts for update 2 and 3. game works fine now.
Dont know about Oculus but for steam you can start SteamVR without steam or start steam then SteamVR then close steam by the incon tray to keep steamVR on.

It should recognize it and allow you to install. if you lower vignetting all the way in the options it's really not that bad. it comes up a bit when you're low on stamina but otherwise i dunno why people needed a patch for it
That hasn't even been released yet... it clearly says on steam that it is "pre release notes" right in the title. Meaning this is what the fix will fix when it releases. at least wait for an update to come out before requesting it... and maybe then try requesting in the request section of this site like you're supposed to as they don't go to these pages to check for that stuff. It'd be impossible for them to do that with every game as there are thousands on this site.

yes you need all the parts, why are you only going to download 1 part when it shows you need every single 1, if you want to make it easier on yourself use the torrent dont use the rar files /facepalm

yes but i thought that was what you do to unlock physical crouching but only after you download the hotfix/get the version with the hotfix and i currently have the original version that never coded for physical crouching

Are you sure you're adding the -steam correctly? I've seen tons of people doing it wrong. Try reading through the comments to see if you are adding it the right way as apparently the pinned comment isn't clear enough to understand for some people.

Damn, you're having all the bad luck huh? As James said, make sure you meet the system requirements for this game. The devs have said on steam that people that have not met the specs of this gave have been dealing with crashing. Specifically their CPU. This game is supposedly very CPU hungry so you need that Ryzen X 1500x (or equivalent) at bare minimum. I'm really glad I decided to buy this game. This one seems like a headache to get running for some.
Make sure you have at least the minimum specs requirements and also to update your drivers(sure you already know this but just in case something passed by).

There have apparently been issues with this game crashing if your CPU isn't up to the task. This comes from the devs themselves. This game is very CPU intensive supposedly, so you need to meet the specs for this game.

I am playing this game with an oculus rift S. But everytime i start the game it crashes and brings me back to my desktop, when i try to change the path target as said in the .txt file it says the path doesn't exist. Can someone help me so i can just play the game?
you need the hotfix to enable crouching and then you need to enable HMD tracks in order to crouch. without the hotfix all it does is reset your height.
worked for me with "KUpoKing tip". But i'm on Pimax 5k+ and i can play only on small FOV other wise there is 2 black bars on each side i don't know why. ^^

You're clicking on ads... not the ACTUAL download button. That's how file hosts make money, they try to trick people into clicking onto those fake download buttons as it makes them money. You need to click on the PROPER download button on those pages to get the rar file for the game itself.
It works for me. I used the mega ups. For some reason you have to click 3 times on the download button and exit out the popups quickly enough and you can download them all. Just ignore the exes, you only want the rar files.

The Mega Ups work, I did them several times. You have to keep clicking the download button til it gets grayed out while exiting out the ads, then you should actually have the download starting for the rar file. It's tedious, but it will work.

Yep. Played it on my Oculus Quest today and it worked fine. It freezes after a while, but it's the same that happens with all games. Disconnect the usb, plug it again and you can keep playing like normal.
Is the patch uploaded on here now? I looked on the game request page and saw The Walking Dead Saints and sinners on the 28th, when I downloaded it on the 25th, but it says uploaded. So did they add the update, or did they just reupload it?
I downloaded it again, it still didn't have it sadly. I will hope when they do update it it will be a separate download and not something we have to download the game all over again for.

Game freezes in cut scenes. So basically after a cut scene the only thing i can do is crouch and look around. I cant access inventory or move. Any ideas?
It sucks that the first good game based on TWD would be VR only. And before those with VR say something like "It must suck to be poor" or some other dumb elitist thinking, it's not that I can't afford VR. I bought VR exclusively for modded Beat Saber, learned I love almost everything I have tried in VR. Most of which looked like utter shit to me. It just goes to the adage of "you can't judge a book by its cover." Something around the price of a console, with hundred of games to pirate... I didn't see much of a down side honestly. Made the investment worth it just for the curiosity alone. Best of all, if it isn't for you, they sell really well used. You get a good chunk of your money back.

You're clicking on one of the ads on the file host page, not the link to download. If the file size is small, or anything other than a .rar file, then you are downloading the wrong thing.
It gets blocked after the download is complete. The File I wanted to download was 5Gb. When It's complete it says Chrome Blocked it because it could be dangerous. I know I get a warning with Java files, but I never got a warning with zip files, or any file from this site. :)

With this update it´s possible to physically crouch which is a must-have for a VR game like this. With the version you uploaded it´s not possible to physically crouch, but only by pressing a button which is lame as fuck in VR games. Many people cried because of this and the developers reacted to this feedback by releasing an update 2 days later. Would be perfect if you could upload this update!

No, Right-Click on "TWD-Win64-Shipping" and create shortcut. Once the shortcut is made, right click on that shortcut and go to properties. In there, find the "Target" box and add "-steam" (without quotes) and click "OK" To run the game use this shortcut instead.
No, this is VR only with no plans for a pancake mode. It wouldn't work non VR anyway because of how heavily it relies on real life physics. I'd look into saving up for a VR headset. You can get used Rifts for just a couple hundred bucks. Well worth it seeing as there are hundreds of games to choose from on here alone.

Are you an AMD user? If you are then you have to roll back to older drivers as this game does not work with the latest drivers according to those on steam.

So it's not a problem with the file itself...Can you try deleting the shortcut and make a new one to your desktop? If that's not working I have one last idea.
The last idea I have is: In the shortcut delete the ".exe". Maybe it doesn't find the file because in your folder it is missing the "exe". If that's not working I'm out of options. Sorry.
I found The games must be on the hard drive (c :) My games folder is in (f :) so it doesn't work, I moved the games to (c :) and changed the shortcut and it worked
Download them all, and then extract them all. For a file this big there will likely extract to a bigger, single .zip file, then u extract it again. Then u have the installer.
On this site, each part is 5GB. When you have all parts downloaded, you extract it and get an ISO file. You mount the ISO file in Daemon Tools Lite and run the setup to install the game. When you do, you have to make sure to copy the crack files.
install them all first then put them in a folder and extract the first part. From there u should get a folder. open the folder then u can probably solve everything else on your own. (havent downloaded it yet)

I have figured it out and will share with all of you !
Step 1: Right Click on TWD icon and choose Create Shortcut
Step 2: Right Click on TWD - Shortcut and choose Properties
Step 3: in Target: you add -steam at the end (as shown in picture)
Step 4: Launch Game
Step 5: (I'm assuming you're using virtual desktop and the game will load via Steam VR). Open Settings
(NOTE: YOU CAN EITHER DO THIS ON YOUR PC OR IN YOUR QUEST by pressing both menu buttons on your controllers at once)
Step 6: Choose Manage Controller Bindings
Step 7: Choose CUSTOM
Step 8: Choose CHOOSE ANOTHER
Step 9: Choose your game mine is called "TWD-WIN64-SHIPPING"
Step 10: Activate any bindings in this menu ( i have circled a few for reference ). Try which ever one that works best for you.
As you can see there's an official binding from the developers and also saved bindings from other players with similar issues as us. So please try what deems best for you!
I have been looking far and wide to find answers and it's been super annoying and tedious to find different types of answers from more than one person. So I hope doing this will help anyone else running into the same issues as me !
Note: IDK if you guys will run into the same issue as me when it came to using my quest joy stick to move, but I had to click down on my thumbstick every time I wanted to walk. So if anyone is running into the same issue, that's how i over came it. I haven't tried out enough of the other saved bindings from other players, so maybe that wouldn't been issue with other bindings. Therefore, just try them all out

You can manage to launch the game if you go to VD tray icon and use the "Launch Game" option (remembering to select the .exe on TWD>Binaries>Win64, NOT the TWD.exe), but thats about it, the controls don't work.
And since its cracked, you can't access community workshop to download community bindings, you could manually setup all bindings, but you would have to see a screenshot or video of which binding goes where, I think someone who own the game could help us.
If someone own the game on steam and are reading this, post a screen shot of all Oculus Touch controller bindings that are working from the workshop (and if you're having more problems, also remember there is an official fix for Virtual Desktop users if you google it)

Make a copy of those files before reinstalling the new version with DLC, paste the files back in once you've reinstalled the game and if the saves are compatible with the new version(if the version difference is too big sometimes it doesn't) it'll work.

Just go to the folder as shown in his comment and right click on the TWD icon, not the one with the folder, but the one with the picture. After right clicking, make a shortcut by sending it to the desktop. Then go to the shortcut and rightclick. Choose properties and the Shortcut tab. Go to the target section and click once anywhere in the text. Now just hold down the right directional key on your keyboard until the text cursor is as far left as it can go.
Ok, now all you have to do is press the spacebar once, then a minus sign, then the word steam. And thats it, Your done, press apply and ok. Now just double click the new shortcut and enjoy.

If you have an AMD graphics card, use "ReliveVR" and set the headset type to "HTC Vive Pro" and not "Oculus Rift S"! Then start with "TWD.exe -steam"!

ALRIGHT for those trying to use the hotfix 2 patcher it DOES work however it takes a very long time to finish mine started working after 11 minutes. i might have finished faster but I Ticked the Verify Hash button
unzip the folder run install and select the directory TWDSaintsAndSinners. It should recognize it and allow you to install. It didn't exit itself properly and was stuck on the last part of finalizing and i had to close the process but it still seems to work. then follow the steps in the text document to enable physical crouching.

As James said, make sure you meet the system requirements for this game. The devs have said on steam that people that have not met the specs of this gave have been dealing with crashing. Specifically their CPU. This game is supposedly very CPU hungry so you need that Ryzen X 1500x (or equivalent) at bare minimum.
I'm really glad I decided to buy this game. This one seems like a headache to get running for some.
