It's too bad that it's a "screen to screen" exploration. I would have really liked if we could explore freely like in a classic FPS. It doesn't feel that different or better than scary hidden object games. (I recommend the "https://igg-games.com/?s=haunted+hotel" series.)
The kind of format in an adventure game that's been done to death for sure. By any chance have you heard of a point and click horror title called Scratches?
Yeah, for me, this kind of point and click exploration reminds me of Myst and Riven, which I saw first on Sega Saturn in 1995/96. Not the best support to play such games. lol Oooh yeah I think I played Scratches ages ago. But didn't it age a bit too?
Most definitely the Myst games were the ones that laid the groundwork for these exploration games. They did however remade the first Myst so you can play with free movement. Possibly a more liberating choice to go about the environments. Scratches was one of those games I discovered in the bargain bin at a Circuit City electronics store back in the old days. It has aged more like cottage cheese rather than full on cheese...the thrilling adventure kind. A weird analogy right.
What the... I feel like mods are getting better and better. Personally, I'm already having more fun with mods than AAA games anyway. Anyway, thanks for this, I'm downloading it from gamebanana right now! Have you tried Ashes 2063 mod for Doom 2 recently? So far, I think it's the best mod I've ever played.
I agree. A real First Person movement scheme would have been a better direction for the game. I don't normally play this type of game but the I liked the idea you could be a modern paranormal investigator and use all the tools they claim to have today. If you happen to know of any games that do that, please let me know.Thanks.
Cool I'll look into them Thanks. I found out there was a game called Ghost Theory which is either dead or in serious development hell. They tried to get backing from Crytek through a program Crytek was doing then they shut down the program. They were going to use Unity but decided it didn't fit the bill of the scope of the game. Ghost Theory would have been just like you see the paranormal investigators on TV

There's also Layers of Fear 2, but I never tried and heard bad things about it.
The only games in which I played paranormal investigators were hidden object games.๐
