As a Ps1 sucker I can say that... this isn't good Ps1 based graphics. Yes, first games in 3d don't tend to look good comparing them now. But they didn't look that bad. They could use something like Resident Evil based were there was a job in background department. Fuck, Lost in Vivo, another Ps1 based, it was better made than this shit. Because in that game there is a job in trying to do retro graphics feel good, not just ""nostalgic""
I think there's a difference for Dogshit graphics and aesthetic, if something isn't aesthetically pleasing and looks like a 4th graders artwork then it's garbage in terms of graphics, now if it's a 2d game with really nice visuals in terms of quality then it technically counts as good graphics.
I kinda agree with you on this. Its already year 2020, the visual graphics should be better. The PC hardware are getting cheaper and easily accessible to everybody. They should have the ability to do it. If they are inspired by the retro game, they should adapt it into the current generation with better graphics and similar gameplay. Basically a remake.
Yes its getting cheaper. Try compare old graphics card price with the newer one. At the same price of the old and now graphics card you can get more more performance value out of it. Hence its cheaper.
i guess some country might differ, but here for example 1080 ti is STILL more expensive than launch day + any current gen (2080 ti etc) is far expensive. Also not counting external factor like unoptimized game and more. But overall, is far more expensive here from all parts
Do you know that you don't need to buy the top and the latest GPU to get the best game performance out of it? It depends on the resolution of your monitor that you're playing on. You also doesn't need to use Nvidia GPU, try checking AMD. There are other alternative too, like a 2nd use GPU. I myself are using 2nd GPU and it works fine, nothing is wrong with it. Depend on the GPU, you can get it around 50% less or more.
yeah i just use the top line model as example (since the price difference is really heavy there) Also depends on everyone, since i'm not mainly gaming, and most software in dire need of CUDA (3d software, etc) , so NVIDIA is the only choice for me (heck even some developer really strict to only work on nvidia gpu only). But yeah, the main problem is most part still ain't getting cheaper (especially RAM that price been x2-x3 last around 2017-mid2019) and more (except CPU since AMD really succeed since ryzen)
When you planning to create a game you already at the point of investing. At this point your budget should be above the requirement to buy the hardware for it. You don't need the best top of the line card to develop a game. It won't become the most pretty out of them all but at least its reaching today standard on the visual graphics department. If you talking about speed progress it might be slow but its not like its unworkable compare to the latest and greatest GPU isn't it?. Its more like on the skill department on your ability to use the game developing software. You can try buy stuff on the internet from other country. that might help with the price differences and try checking the used GPU like I said, that is the best spot to get cheap GPU. I see alot of news on the RAM price dropping after the mid 2019 supply/demand.
