Simply this Lars admitted he took on too much, the original concept
was the new Morrowind and more,he developed some quite decent games to
fund Frontiers So after I had given up hope as the pretty looking
Frontiers was practically like watching a slideshow and crashes and bugs
abounded in vast quantities.Hence the complete rework
and graphics downgrade he actually recoded the game from scratch and
the backers do actually get a near vision of the original gameplay and
mechanics,so far no bugs and runs well no more slide show graphics, just a
bit Daggerfalled now

This is one of the most incredible development stories I've ever seen.
I think it's unique in the history of games.
I mean, we know that some games from E3 are downgraded, right?
But this downgrade is MASSIVE.
I remember actually enjoying this game (despite being very buggy and broken) some years ago, and graphics were very very nice.
But now, the developer decided to throw everything to the garbage bin to make it look like a mid-90s game with an early blocky 3D style...?? WHY? HOW? WHAT?
I do love old games(right now, enjoying the hell out of Ashes 2063 mod for Doom 1), and I even play 80s 2D games, but come on, such a downgrade is ridiculous!
lol the Steam forums are entertaining to read... People can't believe just what happened.
Imagine what would happen if Cyberpunk 2077 was downgraded suddenly without any good reasons, and that it would look like Fallout 3 (without any mods lol).😂
Was all of this a massive trolling from the developer or something?
He could have waited for April's Fools, at least.

I'm fine with the graphics if the game is fun. Is the game fun?

Yeah kids these days cry foul if the graphics are not super duper,I wonder if they ever played Chaos or the recent Baba is You those graphically are like a toddler drew them in paint, but gameplay and mechanics make those games not the graphics.

Just different kinds of people I guess. People that play games like they want to see a movie. I play games because I want to PLAY games not watch games... Thus we have lets plays on youtube, lol.
Looking nice is always a bonus, performance is more important than looking nice, and gameplay should be the first thing.
Anyways I thought I downloaded this before but turns out I own it on steam lmao, think it was in a bundle.

Well that explain why you get some HD screenshot and video when you google the name of the game.
Thanks for the info, I guess it doesn't even worth the try.

Read a lot of coment saying the game is abandoned and didn't get any update in a year , and they are from end 2019 , so I doubt this will be any good just becuase it's "out of early access"

On Steam there is also an announcement from today called "The Final Update":
"I've posted a Kickstarter update going over the last few years of development and my plans moving forward.
CLICK HERE TO READ THE UPDATE
A new build - the final build - has been pushed to Steam. The game has exited early access. It's not perfect - not even close to what we'd hoped for - but it's done. Janky, ugly, compromised, buggy, missing tons of promised features... and done. You can install it, launch it and play it from start to finish. I've done so dozens of times. (And never will again, knock on wood.)
Thank You Everyone
Not everyone here was a backer, but many of you put serious time into playing the alpha and into reporting bugs on the forum. Thank you again for all your help."

Yes but my point is that if the dev team don't update the game for a whole year and then suddently drop the " out of early access" update out of nowhere, chance that it will be pure garbage are really really high.
So yeah...

Well considering my money went to make this why not try it before making assumptions ?

Because I will not bother trying a game that changed his Graphic engine for worst mid-process and most importantely didn't made any update during the past 12 month without any news then sudently releasing it out of early access.
That sound like a big scam low tier game, and have been already seen in the past, that's all.
Maybe that's an "exception" but a lot of "exception" turned out to be blanty the same as the scam before. It's cool if you manage to bring people to try it out and explain to them why the long absence and why the sudent change of art-direction, but I doubt replying to someone hiting your precious game on a warez site would make any profit to be honest

He rewrote the game from scratch,at one point it was a dead duck no game at all, dropping the better graphics just meant he could develop the core mechanics,as he admits his programming skills were not enough for the quality he originally wanted.
No body who backed the game expected anything, also in the KS update he mentioned Limit theory a now dead game the lead dev though very talented suffered from mental issues so game dropped.
Lars had a kid mid development, another dev on KS dropped his game after his wife sadly passed away during the campaign.Shit happens in real life and I'm not Lars I backed his game he was a regular on the Limit Theory site possibly as the devs started to struggle more and more with their projects as a lot of KS devs actually helped and promoted each others games it was the Kickstarter ethos at the time.

Well Okey that's sounds credible and all, but again maybe making a video to explain all that face to face cam with an honest voice and view of the game would help
I'm not wanna bring down the "comunity" since you can probably find amazing people here, but that's still a warez website man, I'm not sure this is the main target to sell the game or at the very least make an explanation of the why of the who what...
But if you're honest welp I hope your game will sell well and see a decent profit...
