Tokimeki Memorial Girl's Side: 1st Love Plus the 1st is the best, I didn't get to play the others because the 2st talked about mermaids, very uninteresting, but the 1st is about past lives, with a very nice system to play, if the true love gameplay changed I think it would be like this game. Not much I can think of with this growth statistic mechanic that was also a dating sim. Princess Maker series was kinda similar in mechanics but not a dating sim. Other VN/dating sim with H-scenes I remember back in the day that were decent Tokimeki Check In!, The Sagara Family, Family Project, X-Change. These were fairly unique at the time being in English, now there are so many VN that are similar. Brave Soul was a simple RPG....I really cannot think of others just like True Love, its what makes it a classic.

It seems there is a version in the making that runs in the Ren'Py engine and is more compatible with modern computers because of that. Owners of the Steam version can install a beta version of this.

What a lazy release. If you still own the original release you might as well install that because no changes have been made whatsoever to the game. And yes, this means that you won't be able to hear the soundtrack at all because it's raw midis lol. The best way to play this game is still a windows 95 vm. How some execs pull this kind of shit and expect to make money I have no idea. This is even worse than the yu-no remake because that one had new graphics at least, as shit as they were. It still showed that more than 5 minutes of work went into the thing. Such mismanagement of classics should be punishable by hanging. Edit: It is my understanding that the script has been edited to make all the girls 18+ instead of high schoolers to avoid steam's retarded censorship. Yet another strike against this particular release when it is clear by the visuals alone that you're dealing with high schoolers.
I have the windows XP version of this game, and of course as you might expect, it didn't work on windows 7 some years ago and of course in windows 10 too... So if I might want to play this game again, I do hope this version could run in windows 10...
