people Dont understand that piracy most of the time do good for video games, I bought most games I end up liking and also saved me a lot of wasted money in bad games, I would't pirate if we had demos, but since demos aren't a thing anymore we have to use this.

Can you explain why rdr2 requires a NASA supercomputer to run at 0.7 fps? If a CPU is old it doesn't mean it's weak nor outdated. Plus it minimum recomended settings to run this game properly, not what you must have to run it
New hardware includes new software advancements and this new software depends on the new hardware. A good example is ray tracing; It CAN be done on older GPU's but you need a new GPU with Tensor cores to process it in real-time.
It's the same with CPU's, the new ones have new tech and so they easily natively support new feature's that older hardware needs to emulate.

I'm stuck at the main menu, my hands move correctly and my body follows my head but if I use my oculus controler to move I can't move I can't select or interact in any way whit the menus altought the "selction beam" is coming from my hand and I can point it at the texts The text also responds to the beam but if I click trigger or any other input I can't interact whit it I'm literally stuck like this whit no way of moving or interacting whit menu's how do I fix??? Ok guys I found a way to make it work... sadly Bonework's doesn't work whit oculus andd OTT so you have to use Steam VR to play this game this does mean that you will lose some performance, but it's not too bad unless you (like me) are playing whit a computer that is not made for vr in that case you might have some problem's whit performance Tl;dr: To play Boneworks on Oculus use Steam VR

I got this (https://www.nexusmods.com/boneworks/mods/17) it's a 'Developer save' so it has 134 Hidden Hidden objects! and all you do is copy it into the Boneworks folder! (BUT NOT the Main Game folder! The game makes another Boneworks folder as soon you play the game once. (C:\Users\You\Appdata or Public.. (I think) just search for 'Boneworks' folder in C:\Users, then copy the mod in, overwriting the 'Boneworks' folder.. (it just adds to it,,..) This mod worked with the version there now (WHICH IS THE VERY NEW V 1.3 BTW! :) (on the Google links) At least it was when I download a couple weeks ago... it might even be 1.4 by now! :)
Just run the Setup / Install file and in there the GUI has 2 check boxes, one says: 'Copy VREX' (and the other 'Don't make an Uninstaller') Just Check Both and it is FIXED. I have seen (ISO) games released like this for years, ..???!?!

Hey, If you want Boneworks updated faster, then feel free to just buy the game. It takes time to crack a game, Especially newer ones with more piracy protection. Also, if they didn't care, then why would they even upload the game here in the first place?
I cant seem to get part 2 working, it downloads just fine but when i try unzipping it it says 'Information error BONEWORKS.VR-VREX\vrex-boneworks.vr.iso' Part 1 works fine tho.. Anyone know why this is happening?
When this happens to me for other games, I try downloading the part again from a different site it was uploaded to (If you downloaded from mega, Try google drive, ect.)

If it is an ISO file, Right click it and choose 'Open with' then: 'Windows Explorer'. It will 'mount' the ISO as if it were a cd-rom. Open the Setup or Install file, choose location, MAKE SURE TO CHECK THE: 'COPY VREX FOLDER?' CHECKBOX!!! Install, then play. If you really like, then buy! With more and more mods coming, like Skyrim VR and GTA 5, this is one that's worth the price!!!
I tried looking at the .exe but it looks like they havent changed it since mid 2018, which at that point the game wasn't even released yet. Headset arrives in a few days so il update you once i can actually try it out.
Good news! I've tried it out and it is version 1.3 which I believe is the newest version. If you're new to VR, I recommend you to play Job Sim, IEYTD, Lone Echo, etc. Then move on to games like HL:A and Boneworks, anyways have fun with VR!
I wish this site would list when they update games. I never have any idea if the date listed is the version they have, and with so many games in Early Access, you don't know if you're getting an almost finished game or one that's barely playable. I'm sure it wouldn't be a lot of work for whoever updates the page to include "Updated on xx/xx/xxxx"
Agreed. It's difficult to complain about free stuff, but the fact of the matter is they are generating ad revenue and there are other sources such as quality private torrent trackers that do a much better job of curating files. Hell, even most game torrents uploaded to public trackers generally have accurate version info right in the file name. You'd think they would take some pride in offering a good source for updated files with proper labeling.
windows mixed reality does work but the hands will be broken, so you will need to go into the steam menu in game ( pressing down analog sticks) and go to controllers then keybinds and you can grab keybinds from someone who made them
go into the bone works folder ( and you should see files like "cosmos_bindings") delete all the files that say "_bindings", one of those bindings is breaking your wmr.
O+ user here asking... How do you own one and not know? WMR supports SteamVR. SteamVR is everything. Yes, this and everything that matters WMR fully supports. It was reported with HL: Alyx that Odyssey Plus is the second best headset overall for the game, only behind the Index.
If you already downloaded the new version, just use Steamless by atom0s to patch the drm out of the .exe, worked for me and is a lot easier than it sounds. Just hit a button after selecting the BONEWORKS.exe. A new .exe will be created which you need to rename to "BONEWORKS.exe" and just get rid of the old one / rename it. I tried this and ran the new exe, but the game doesnt run and redirects me to the store page. Can you tell me which options are you using in steamless when you crack the game?
Had the same problem but i managed to fix it by putting Steam Emulator Launcher. Pretty much you download SteamEmu and put into the folder, than open the SSELauncher drag the cracked Boneworks into the Launcher and the should be GameAppId in the Game Setting tab. Put 823500 inside the AppId, then click save and launch the game through the SSELauncher.
So for those that are trying to get it work: go to smartsteamemu.ini and configure the appid as the upper comment says(823500), and also change the Target to BONEWORKS.exe and #StartIn to the location of your boneworks folder.

Yeah you need to crack the BONEWORKS.exe. https://github.com/atom0s/Steamless/releases Download this, than open Steamless.exe. A window should appear, look for 1. Select File To Unpack, when you find it than next to it there should be 3 dots horizontaly click on those dots, than another window should appear now in that window find the Boneworks folder, and select the .exe by double clicking on it. Then you just click "Unpack File", after that another exe should appear in the folder called "BONEWORKS.exe.unpacked.exe" now delete the first boneworks.exe and rename the unpacked.exe to "BONEWORKS.exe", and now it should launch. (Sorry for my english)
If you can't afford it but you can pay 400 bucks for a headset and 800 more for a PC capable of running those games. Something is wrong with your priorities. I have a problem.The game worked with my nvidea 1060 but after christmas I bought a Amd Radeon RX 5700 XT and now when I start the game I see all "pieces " of the Hud double. Example: THe STress level Zero mark or the Inventory or all the Menus.And this makes the Game unplayable without getting dizzy after 5 minuits. Pls Help me and sry for the bad english im not english
I know what you mean, I returned my RX 5700XT. If you still can do the same, keep playing on your 1060 for a few more months (6?). AMD will fix their issues, and in the summer both NVIDIA and AMD are releasing NEXTGEN GPU's. So prices will probably come down or substantially better cards will release.
Game is fun but im just not into tech demo like games im sure in the future, physics based games will evolve much more games like half life alyx and all sorts, so yea im happy pirating games exist helps alot with money and decisions.
Not a tech demo. There is a whole story with lore (there is an entire google doc explaining it), and it just feels like a tech demo at first because of how easy it is at the beginning. That is just normal difficulty ramping though, it gets more difficult as you progress, and enemies get more complex. Even Portal's first chambers were so easy a baby could do it. I do think that it is definitely not the full scope of what we will see with vr games in the future though, but it is a great step in the right direction, like mario 64 for 3d games.

True, pirating a game is more likely to test if the game will be suitable for you to buy it officially i pirate games just to test to see if i enjoy it. you shouldn't keep it because it doesn't update automatically thats why steam does it for you without no problem.

Can I save a game in a middle of a chapter / scene / level ? I take a lot of breaks during a game and every time I start the museum it starts from the beginning and not from where I left, and I have to go through all the places again. Most of them I just run by but there is no way to skip the puzzle, for example.

You got it totally wrong. VR is a fucking expensive piece of hardware, we spend several hundred dollars on it and then they expect us to pay another several hundred for games that are at best can be compared to demos and betas. Nope.
That is why you only spend money on the games that have real content. Or just don't buy a VR headset... It is very new, so it is kind of hard to develop for, and people are less likely to make good games just yet since the hardware is just now getting good. Once Alyx comes out and more companies make real games, VR will get much better. VR is still a premium luxury item, if you can't afford it don't buy it...

I feel like that's not a great analogy for what you're trying to get at. More like buying a car and bitching to Ford that you have to pay extra to get more power and more features. But no... he's totally correct. Pay $10-40 for a game that you might only get a couple hours of fun out of, and if you play it a HAIR TOO LONG, you might not be able to get a refund for? These things should be a bit more content-based for price. Hot Dogs, Horseshoes, and Hand Grenades is basically just a shooting range (think the Sandbox in Boneworks)... for $20. Yeah, the mods look neat... but i can't imagine buying that and thinking "Man.... $20 well spent."

So my analogy is correct.. the cost of a car has nothing to do with paying extra for more power or features. Yeah, the Index is $1,000 if you have no other VR hardware. But the Rift S is quite a nice headset, costs about as much as a new console, and doesn't need a TOP TIER pc to make the most of it. I'm using my Rift S on an RTX 2070, yeah.... but the rest of my hardware is 6+ years old. And in no way does it seem like he's saying that he should just be handed free games just because he bought a VR headset to go with his computer. He's basically saying exactly what I previously said. You can find non-VR games with LOADS of stuff to do for free, if not for about the same or lesser cost than most of the VR titles currently available. The downside is that 90% of those VR titles don't have a whole lot to them, and don't really get updated all that often..... if ever. For example. Pistol Whip. $25. and it has what.... 8 songs to play in 3 different difficulties? Boneworks. $30. Yes, it has a story, but some controls seem only thought out half-way (mounting a platform is a royal pain compared to other titles), and not really any replayability aside from the arena. Pavlov. $25, 4 game types. Yet if i wanted to, I could go on Steam and play Ragnarok Online, a sprite-based mmorpg that i originally started playing like 15 years ago off and on, that is still updated at least weekly, for free.

I downloaded the game off of torents, and there is no "how to play file"..... I'm new to cracking vr, been cracking pc games for 5+ years now. So is it just run the exe, add it to steam, or yolo and try every way possible? Can someone copy paste the text file here so I don't have to re-download the game from here? x_X
It's freezing on start. My screen does load to the main menu but i have an infinite "loading app" in VR. Same problem with Pistol whip. Anyone has the same ?

on samsung odyssey, the view occurs from the side on the character in the start menu, the character himself performs chaotic actions! what could be the problem?
Kinda hard to explain why, but sometimes this happens in random games with WMR when the room boundary is messed up. Exiting SteamVR, restarting WMR portal, starting SteamVR and the game again usually solves it. If not, you can try re-configuring your boundary.
Game is poorly optimized, lots of reprojection, and crashing. I'd wait until they stabilize it before giving it a play. Don't spoil it for yourself. Asgard's Wrath runs better than Boneworks and I'm sure we can all agree, this shouldn't need a beefier GPU than Asgard's Wrath requires to run.

For Asgard's Wrath, I had to lower my VR displays to 80 or 90hz and still ended up with asynchronous re projection at 40-45fps and it seemed laggy. You either ran with all settings at lowest possible on Asgard's Wrath and are trying to max Boneworks or your lying and your PC sucks, or you are having a rare bug that nobody else is experiencing. I am guessing the latter. Reinstall on your best drive or something. I am using a i7 8700k @ 5.1ghz, 32GB RAM and a GTX 1080 @ stock clocks and it works even better when I OC to 2GHZ.
I have been playing Boneworks for a few days on a 1080 it works flawlessly, Asgard's Wrath it far more demanding considering you have to use Revive to play it. I think somenthing is wrong on your system, because what you say is contrary to my experience in every way. I have an Index headset and both games original, Boneworks works perfectly fine, for Asgard's Wrath I have to use low settings.

The pirated version is a buggy mess. I've seen people have great experiences with the game after purchase. I bought the game and instantly my issues vanished.

I would imagine its just regular delay, like somebody with a copy who knows how to plug in a steam emulator needs to do so, upload it, igg admins need to find it and upload it here, and so on. And due to the fact not everybody has a vr headset Im guessing its just taking a while for somebody with a copy to upload it.
I'm not in contact with the administrator, so I'm not aware of when the update is going to be posted. However, considering the popularity of this game, I don't see any reason why the update wouldn't be posted. It might just be that it's taking a while for IGG to update it, he does get hundreds of requests every day after all. Edit: For anyone who sees this, the update has since been posted.
i wish i could play this.. but not going wireless completely ruined VR for me.. i'm saving up for a wireless adapter, so i can finally turn around freely in VR and not become a pretzel. honestly i think VR should have came wireless, considering most VR games need you to turn your body. and the turning mechanisms on the controllers kinda ruin the experience
I know the thought about it. I bought one because I wanted to see for myself what the whole VR was about. It had cables with it, and it was little weird. You legit forget about the cable/s, and it becomes seemless. Now I don't know how it is in a super large room, but at the minimum room scale I couldn't tell the cable was there. Even with my headset with wire hanging. (I have the Oculus Rift S)
once you start to manage the wire behind you, you forget about it just like how if you use local motion instead of teleporting for a while it doesn't make you sick
any way to have a binding set for WMR?, when I launch the game everything seems to work correctly but not the bindings, it says that there is no binds set but when I try to go and download a binding made user from someone else I cant do that to since the game is supposed to be pirated, any way to import a file with a premade bindins file to the folder or something I can download??
I believe if you hit the joystick and look at the community bindings someone should've made one, if not then igggames has to update the game, I haven't tried it yet as im not home right now but let me know

Hello. After downloading and unpacking, im launching game via SSE launcher( as administrator) as mentionetd in txt. folder with STEAM VR already on. Game launches for 5 seconds and then it crash.. anyone has any solution ? Im htc VIve user
no actually valve looked to this game while in development for inspiration and guidance in building half life alyx it is actually part of the Steam "master list" which is used for circulating valve software to employees and only a few dozen non valve games are on there.
nope i tried that doesn't work because the game wont find the json file thats why they had to rebuild the game again to then read the holographic_controllers.json so we cant do anything until its updated

I feel like this is a correlation doesn't = causation i pirate all my games but i feel like piracy doesn't affect sales at all if a game is popular more people are gonna pirate it thus why it'll have higher piracy, some people like try before buy but most people just want a free game i only buy multiplayer ones, but every single player is free :)
If you are talking about museum at the beginning of the game, then that was just 1st chapter. You have to go through recycle room to go to the next chapter.
No technical problem starting it. Problem is motion sickness. Pavlov, Onward, Climbey, Project Cars - I can play those games for an hour or two without feeling sick. This game: sick within 15 Minutes - nauseous close to a throw up. Anyone else having it with this game??? Question: I download games before I buy them because there is often no demo. If you buy a VR Game on Steam - do you get a refund for motion sickness? What is with "normal" games - if I buy Zoo Planet and don't like it - can I get a refund too?
This is just not working for Oculus Rift (or Quest via Virtual Desktop). The game takes about 5-10 minutes to load and then I see nothing but black in my headset, but can see part of the Boneworks homescreen on my computer monitor as well as hear the audio. This crack is just all screwed up. For $29.99, I might as well just test it out I guess. It got outstanding reviews on Steam.

Looks like scam to me! When you have a huge budget, one is expected to make something more than a 'sandbox'. If this is not a mere, (boring) sandbox, then what are the names of the enemies? What is their motivation to kill you? What is the point of any of it? I ONLY took a look at the game for research purposes, I am a independent developer, I WANTED to be SURPRISED and INSPIRED! I got the game to load on my HTC Vive, I can walk around and it detects my hand movements but the buttons don't do anything. Does anyone else have this problem as well?
some help for oculus user, for me works 1). close steamVR server in task-manager if running 2). start the normal steam VR 3). go to folder ..\BONEWORKS\BONEWORKS_Data\Plugins 4). start SSELauncher.exe as admin --> a new window apears 5). right click on the bonework icon --> select properties --> check if "Inject SmartSteamEmu" is unchecked-->click "Save" 6). richtclick on boneworks icon --> click "Launch"
Got it working perfectly ! Follow the instructions found when unziping the game. Make sure to have steam Running already with Steam VR ON ! Then start up the Steam Emu and click boneworks. Give it a bit and it will start right up !
Yes, had the same error after it starting up perfectly the first time. Got it Fixed by restarting the PC and turning off Bluetooth in Steam VR. Seems to boot just fine with the lighthouses already powered up :)
Yes, turn off Bluetooth on steamVR before shutting it down or have it running before clicking on Boneworks.exe in SSElauncher. Both seem to fix the error.
If you have the index, this game kinda sucks. Controls are bad. Having to press the trigger and grip button to grab stuff is fucking retarded. Then you grab things from the wrong angle and hold them weird and have to throw the item around in order to hold it correctly and some items cannot be grabbed properly in certain scenarios. I got it working a bit better using Opencomposite instead of SteamVR. Still jerky at times and slow to load though. Maybe my PC isn't quite up to running it smoothly.

What are you talking about? I'm playing this on Oculus and it is fine. You don't run the Boneworks.exe boy. It's the SSE launcher. You run it from there duhh that's the crack. It wouldn't work if you run boneworks.exe straight away. Go to plugins folder and there is the launcher.
When i try to launch the game it says: The code execution cannot proceed because UnityPlayer.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem.
Has it worked for you? I got the game to start and my knuckles are registered but none of the buttons do anything. Edit: On the second try everything worked. Weird.
The game works fine on my oculus rift s. Just lanch the game in the folder : boneworks data/ plugins/ sse laucher and dubbelclick Then you see the skull, don't dubbelclick the skull bud use right mousebutton en choose launch game.

I had the same problem for an hour, my fix was launching steam vr itself and made sure it was running and functional, then ran boneworks afterwards. worked like a charm for me. also if steam vr fails to launch by itself you might have to sign in and out of windows.
first make sure to turn off that horrible win 10 real time protection. game launches and for some reason all the text is seen only from left eye and TWICE. on right eye there are just blanks where there is supposed to be text. is there a way to fix this?

Nah it doesnt, i got my clean copy and used standard Steamless to unpack the exe then use Ali213 v1 Emu. I reckon it's the same procedure for the new WMR update
First, go to go to the BONEWORKS-Data folder, then run “SSELauncher.exe” as administrator. Once SEE is open, right click on “BONEWORKS” and click properties. From there, check the “Inject SmartSteamEmu” option and click save. The game should now work by launching it normally through SSE, hoped it helped!

Mixed reality as of rigth now dosent have support neither on this version or the oficial one(they are the same i think. The devs are working on a fix. I suggest you research a bit i migth be wrong.
I fixed it by deleting these folders and re extracting them to the BONEWORKS_Data Folder. Folders: Plugins Resources StreamingAssets ilcpp_data Hopefully it helps you (Also i'm not sure if you really need to delete every folder that I typed but thats what fixed it for me.)

What can i do?
If a CPU is old it doesn't mean it's weak nor outdated. Plus it minimum recomended settings to run this game properly, not what you must have to run it
Also minimum usually means 720p, lowest settings, at 30fps.
It's the same with CPU's, the new ones have new tech and so they easily natively support new feature's that older hardware needs to emulate.

sadly Bonework's doesn't work whit oculus andd OTT
so you have to use Steam VR to play this game
this does mean that you will lose some performance, but it's not too bad unless you (like me) are playing whit a computer that is not made for vr in that case you might have some problem's whit performance

If you still can do the same, keep playing on your 1060 for a few more months (6?). AMD will fix their issues, and in the summer both NVIDIA and AMD are releasing NEXTGEN GPU's. So prices will probably come down or substantially better cards will release.
I take a lot of breaks during a game and every time I start the museum it starts from the beginning and not from where I left, and I have to go through all the places again. Most of them I just run by but there is no way to skip the puzzle, for example.

VR is just a piece of hardware... the headset makers don't make the games.
But no... he's totally correct. Pay $10-40 for a game that you might only get a couple hours of fun out of, and if you play it a HAIR TOO LONG, you might not be able to get a refund for? These things should be a bit more content-based for price. Hot Dogs, Horseshoes, and Hand Grenades is basically just a shooting range (think the Sandbox in Boneworks)... for $20. Yeah, the mods look neat... but i can't imagine buying that and thinking "Man.... $20 well spent."
So my analogy is correct.. the cost of a car has nothing to do with paying extra for more power or features.
YOu know when you buy a car you need fuel, registration and insurance.. well buying a VR headset required a good PC (Registration) and buying games (fuel/insurance).
He's not necessarily saying that VR headsets cost too much. Yeah, the Index is $1,000 if you have no other VR hardware. But the Rift S is quite a nice headset, costs about as much as a new console, and doesn't need a TOP TIER pc to make the most of it. I'm using my Rift S on an RTX 2070, yeah.... but the rest of my hardware is 6+ years old.
And in no way does it seem like he's saying that he should just be handed free games just because he bought a VR headset to go with his computer. He's basically saying exactly what I previously said. You can find non-VR games with LOADS of stuff to do for free, if not for about the same or lesser cost than most of the VR titles currently available. The downside is that 90% of those VR titles don't have a whole lot to them, and don't really get updated all that often..... if ever.
For example. Pistol Whip. $25. and it has what.... 8 songs to play in 3 different difficulties? Boneworks. $30. Yes, it has a story, but some controls seem only thought out half-way (mounting a platform is a royal pain compared to other titles), and not really any replayability aside from the arena. Pavlov. $25, 4 game types. Yet if i wanted to, I could go on Steam and play Ragnarok Online, a sprite-based mmorpg that i originally started playing like 15 years ago off and on, that is still updated at least weekly, for free.

That makes no sense man. This game runs flawless at 120fps on my Index. For Asgard's Wrath, I had to lower my VR displays to 80 or 90hz and still ended up with asynchronous re projection at 40-45fps and it seemed laggy. You either ran with all settings at lowest possible on Asgard's Wrath and are trying to max Boneworks or your lying and your PC sucks, or you are having a rare bug that nobody else is experiencing. I am guessing the latter. Reinstall on your best drive or something.
I am using a i7 8700k @ 5.1ghz, 32GB RAM and a GTX 1080 @ stock clocks and it works even better when I OC to 2GHZ.
I think somenthing is wrong on your system, because what you say is contrary to my experience in every way.

i'm saving up for a wireless adapter, so i can finally turn around freely in VR and not become a pretzel. honestly i think VR should have came wireless, considering most VR games need you to turn your body. and the turning mechanisms on the controllers kinda ruin the experience
