Fear the dark unknown is 3rd person, horror, action, shooting, interactive, exploration, adventure, role playing game where character goes to a haunted mansion to rescue her dad from undead and monsters. Graphics and detailing are great. But, demands heavy pc requirements. So, I had to run on lowest settings. Sounds and music exist. The game has different camera view angles for different locations which is little difficult to play. 12.7 gb big installation. Overall, I rate it ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Updates required to fix errors. Felt like playing modified resident evil series.
It has potential but a 4 slot inventory is hell. Imagine, 1 slot for ammo (and you cant stack them), 1 for a health item, 1 for a save item and you only have one slot for smth new you find. So its going back and forth to your storage box all the time. Especially because you have only one free savepoint, others need a save item, and OF COURSE savepoints and storage boxes arent at the same place (that makes you waste a huge amount of time)
You should, the game is really interesting and some gameplay mechanics are fun. Tho i stopped playing at some point for one of the reason above and the other one, because i was dying on situations that already made me take a long time to get back to it without any save point. And with the all inventory issue, i got tired of this. So great potential, but they should change a few things. Save points without save items ? Stackable ammos ?
Sup, just coming here again to say.. the game it bugs after 1 hour and 30 mins after playing good xd i didnt play it again, looks good tho, it was fun anw

For those (new and) looking for some solid first person horror titles to play, these are options: Condemned Criminal Origins Zombi Alien Isolation White Day: A Labyrinth Named School Devotion Resident Evil 7 Biohazard Amnesia: The Dark Descent
I swear i tried playing these, But eventually i always end up going to youtube to watch markiplier's gameplays, Because i don't have the guts to play them myself!
i mostly do the same but not because i dont have the guts but because most horror games are shit and i dont like to waste my time downloading garbage and hell no i like a gameplay with no commentaries markiplier is a funny guy but always talk :/
Ha ha ha it's okay, I always do that too. I really enjoyed watching Pewdiepie playing Outlast and Alien Isolation, a few years ago. He was good too while playing Resident Evil 7.
Nothing wrong with that. It goes to show there are still those ones which are effectively terrifying to play assuming the role as that character. Alien Isolation had me white knuckled, teeth clenched, and intensified towards playing through to the end. That was a memorable finale to get to.
It's funny that you brought up the game Visage. I've been re-listening some Silent Hill tracks the past few days. Like almost nonstop my ears be bleeding. Anyways, that game you mentioned had a nod to The Room as a gag reference. I thought that was strangely entertaining for the developers to add that in their game. As for Layers of Fear, throughout the game had me invested. I even enjoyed the DLC where you play as the daughter going back into the spook house. BTW, have you heard and/or seen The Beast Inside. That one looked interesting. Subject matter delves into paranoia and I think you control two different characters at different times.
ha ha I have the OST of the first Silent Hill, it's definitely good for losing sanity.😅 Super creepy and sick. One of my favorite OST, when it comes to scary(kinda scary) games, is Left 4 Dead. Reminds me of great memories too. I didn't know about The Beast Inside. I'm watching the trailer and I'm impressed by the lighting, it really makes the game creepier. Also, environments are "3D-scanned", apparently? It's too bad you get a gun, though. I wish some horror games were more psychological and didn't involve fighting or shooting.(man, I would love if they did Psycho or Shining...I love the motel bates and overlook hotel. ha ha But maybe gameplay would be too limited, like a walking simulator...) Lots of horror games use paranoia and losing sanity (I think the first Amnesia also had a sanity system).
That's one thing I loved about the first Layers of Fear was how it's directed towards investigating the unknown. Rather than run and hide tactics, you get to play the game in fear face front. One of my favorite sanity trickery in a horror title has to go to Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem. That was a one of a kind game. I could talk all day about what I wish would be included in my preferred horror games. It all boils down to one thing that I look forward to. This is the suspense build up and on point timing of scares. No cheap ones for the sake of artistry.
Thing is with the Beast Inside that it turned at some point into a FPS with a boss battle. I wasnt expected this after a few hours of just walking around and jumpscares. It totally ruined the atmosphere for me when suddenly you have a gun and an invisible dude running after you in the dark. Layers of Fear 2 was meh, I liked it but since we can die, it felt like a complete different game. Song of Horror tho, was like GREAT. The ultimadeath is a pain in the ass but the rest is just awesome.
TBI still has me interested and it's various gameplay ideas. It kind of does it's own thing while has some similarities to RE7. I felt that LoF2 overstayed it's welcome. When compared to the first one, it bit off more than it could chew. I still haven't played Song of Horror, but definitely look forward to it once all the episodes are completely in together. That game gives off the same vibes as Alone in the Dark to me. Like a spiritual successor or something.
that's cuz these types of games are easy and cheap to make, and don't require much of a creativity. though I played some really good first person horror games, like SOMA and Amnesia.
Still not using argumentation I see. It's not that hard honestly - just try to apply some logic to your thoughts and use words to say it and voila ! Do you need help ? Here you go : http://search.lores.eu/schopeng.htm Promise me to use it only for the good of mankind though.
Hey so here you are !!! You fled pretty fast from our argument earlier - you know, the one where you were making an ass of yourself while explaining how jews control the world or whatever. Remember that ? Anyway, I find it hilarious you dump on people for being

The most cynically half-assed posting barfed onto the forums today: 3. Criticizing popular stuff just because 2. Criticizing popular people just because
Narcissistic attitude of generalized edgy contempt
Being unable to accept criticism of one's criticism due to nihilistic view of the world
Being so far up his own ass as to leave no choice to others but to smash his ivory tower By the way - Pavlovian got nothing to do here and is mismatched with reflexive anyway. Wanted to try a brand new word or something ..? https://media.giphy.com/media/26Fxwhhc4quEKDra0/giphy.gif
They all are, these copy-pasta first-person jump scare turds. In fact, most FP games are junk -- they're easy to make and, thus, churned out like junk food.
Updates required to fix errors. Felt like playing modified resident evil series.
however this has a poor execution ;(
The visuals remind me a little of that DreadOut game. Stylish, I must say.
I am going to try it. ^^

Some people call it the scariest game ever.
Personally, I have never tried, so I can't tell, but I think these people might be right, according to the videos I saw. lol
It's not my favorite genre at all, but so far, one of my favorite first-person horror games is https://igg-games.com/layers-of-fear-157713454-inheritance-free-download.html.
Haven't tried Layers of Fear 2, because the atmosphere doesn't seem as good.
