Personally, I don't want to randomise the genders or have to pick the genders of each side character. I would rather the author picks their gender so I can enjoy the story without wondering whether the author intended them to be male, female or non-binary etc. Not sure if anyone else shares this view.
That's a valid point, but I think that also comes down to the author's writing skills. A character that volunteers, likes fashion and sports, plays an instrument and is friendly and outgoing could reasonably be male or female. A character that is known for throwing great slumber parties, is the fashionista for the school, whose favorite color is pink and always carries a heart pendant of them and their BFF sounds like it was intended to be female and it would definitely put me off if they were a male. So I think as long as they don't fall into this trap it could work out fine.

It's a roleplaying game you dimwit, any choice you get to have in the game is a plus. That's what the genre is.Tons of games have things like options on appearance and hair color which have no impact whatsoever but people prefer it nonetheless, why? Because it's a roleplaying feature and they want to play as whoever the hell they want. I dont really see how mythical it is lol. I have non binary friends so im used to this,in french we dont use a they/them (using plural form is weird yes) but a mix form of the male and female pronoun so tbh its less confusing and easier.
Finished the game. It was less than satisfactory. I feel the relationships were forced in the end. Especially with Blaise. The whole school mystery plot.. Very short, like literally the last part of story, and suddenly *poof Ending.
How did you get Blaise? I want him and it seems I always made him expelled. Then I think I met him at the mine, but I failed to actually see if it is him or not!
Oh my god! I just finished the game! I got in to university, cleared my family's name, ended up marrying Hartmann, and we're having our honey moon! Also, the best things are I saved Blaise and Miss Dalca too! God I hate Lady Renaldt so much. Thank God I was brave enough to escape the mine and expose the truth in front of everybody. Second game that I played from the same "dev" and I would say it should've gone visual novel if it's to make a linear story.... Yeah, even if you have multiple choices, it's just to change 1 or 2 sentences. The epilogue is what disappointed the most because it gives a short resume on how your relationship became with X character and that's it. So I don't recommend this game for replay ability but if you want something quick that you can finish in 2-4 hours (depending of your reading speed) you can go for it. Just don't expect too much from the plot.
quickly dropped couldn't name the characters and the game aks me all the time about non binary characters which should be referes as them / they -.- . In most situations i would like to know better how the chracters acts before i decide their identity, finally a character called max same name i used for mine appeared which led to more confusion
That's because some of these of games ask you to set everyone's gender/sexuality before you start. That way you control how much or little you encounter LGBT content. People do complain, a lot, if the devs just force in LGBT characters. Even I, who tolerates this stuff to a decent degree, can find it overwhelming when they dump it in - especially the zir stuff. I much prefer the setting up at the beginning.
