My anti-virus blocked a lot of files, thus I turned it off, slowly downloaded every patch one by one, making sure they all run alone, until the final V1.08. On and for anyone new on this page, V1.07 is included within V1.08 file. Had to look at that patch notes read me file.

Mods have removed my comment for no apparent reason for giving people knowledge that this game has a version 1.07 readily available elsewhere. The same place tIGG got Ryza 2 update also has the last update to Ryza 1 yet it's still not up on this site after months since this game's last update. Actually i tried tha game, and the controls aren't so bad. They're good and functional for this type of game, i mean, you dont need precise aim or something.

Every time I try to launch the game it just takes me to the steam store page. I downloaded all three parts and had no trouble installing anything so idk what's wrong now. EDIT: Applied the updates and now i just get an error message. a PUP (Potentially unwanted program) is not a positive virus or malware detection. It's just the anti-virus/malware software saying "we don't know if this is bad, but it COULD be bad, because it installs things, and maybe you didn't want it to install things, because it might be something different from what you expect, at least it could be, maybe." Which mostly happens because its a cracked version of the game, which is different from the actual version of the game, as it's cracked. At least that's the gist of it. Someone with far better technical knowledge than me could probably explain it far more accurately. So to clarify, no its not a bad thing, just the anti-virus/malware overreacting and shotgun blasting anything that is even remotely possible to be harmful. The REAL question here is: Why the heck would you download your pirated games into your video folder, dude please keep your stuff organised =D (just kidding <3)
download the base game, download each of the uploads and install them in order and they will update the base file. you need to do it in order or it will fail since each file is updating based off of the previous updates files. it also makes sense that it uses around that much because the DLC themselves are around 10 to 15 gbs because they contain a few extra storylines and extra maps, new enemies, materials and recipes

Working fine with GTX 1050 always got 60 fps gameplay. For anyone who using GTX GPU and stuck at the game first loading screen, try forcing the game to use your pc GPU.
It is a yes way for me though, run the game on 1080p, no overclocked, and all graphic settings turned on. I've even read some post on the other sites that someone can run the game with GTX 980 on 720p and always got 30 fps. Didn't believe it? Well that is fine too.
i ran the game with gtx 980 titan thing, don't know if it's because it has more gpu but the game ran at 60 fps fine for me, i also have an over clocked intel i7 4790 4.00 ghz and 16 ram so i don't know how much those effect it but i didn't notice any stutters when i was playing.
From what i've heard, this game with a GTX 1050 will be 40-50 FPS average on normal settings. As for the guy you mentioned, it seems he got a vsync problem, like a half refresh rate.

when its downloaded and extraxted you get an iso file, mount it to a drive via deamon tools or something like that and install it from there, when the installer pops up apply the coxed as well by ticking the box, it fixed that issue for me

How do I make this work with steam controller? I can only go past the PRESS ANY KEY menu by pressing B and then I have to do the rest on keyboard. If you are using Nvidia card, just search nvidia driver on google, then submit your graphics card spec in Nvidia site. If AMD, i think it is on Catalyst control panel.

Yes some games allow to skip old updates if they applied the previous patch on newer updates, but some doesn't, especially for updates that includes dlc you can't skip that or your game will crash.

How do I update the game? I have downloaded the files and went to the Update folder and clicked on setup, it did something and I thought it was finally installed but nothing happened. The game stayed as it is the first time I downloaded it.

PS2 controllers aren't even meant to work on PCs. It would likely have a bad driver, even if you could use it on PC. PS3 or PS4 should be the only Playstation controller you ever try to use. If you do use them, make sure that Steam isn't running, since it will hijack the controller functions, if it is set up in Steam.

i know its a mid-low tier card, for todays triple A standard. this game is not even CLOSE to triple A graphics, this is more like 2010ish graphics, and thats being very generous considering the anime style, polygon count is pretty damn low comparing to real triple a titles, this should not require a 1050..... i am not complaining, i have 2070, i am just saying this is pretty ridiculous considering the grade of graphics here.
I'm back. In the game's directory theres a file called Atelier_Ryza_Launcher.exe , You can set to fullscreen from there, you also can change graphic settings and controls there.
The update doesn't seem to work. After the patch I put the files from the codex file to the install dir and press the start button it directs me to the Windows store. Update: Just found out that I have run as admin and now it works properly again.
Lol game's core gameplay synthesis got a bug ,(not sure if international but bugged in my download, unupdated ver.?) upon synthesizing a node, u can move ur cursor fast into another node then quickly selecting (requires a pretty hard timing) and it will bug to allow materials be used in ur node from the node you dragged to and it will work just fine. I practically use this conveniently (not sure if there are consequences haven't noticed)
Just figured it out. Open steam_emu.ini and change "Language=english" to "Language=xxxxx"; xxxxx can be tchinese (traditional chinese) , schinese (simplified chinese) , japanese or english.
I'm sure that I'm just doing something wrong, but I'm having issues even getting to the title screen. It's constantly loading at every turn, taking an absolute eternity to load even just a few seconds of splash screens. Did I miss something? Am I doing something wrong? Gust/Koei Tecmo always overstates the graphical needs of these games, because they're so badly optimised - the last three or four Atelier games are exactly the same. The graphics card requirements have very little to do with the graphics themselves. I don't have a 1050 and it runs fine on my machine, with a few dips here and there.

indeed, some games are safe to have pirated dlc in them, but some aren't(heck some of them got troll content in it when you got pirated dlc in it lel), so the only safe way to find out is by trying it offline

Oooookay this is the 3rd Atelier game that shares this issue...along with Lulua and Lydie and Suelle.... Notably, when I try to swing my staff to hit enemies to start battles or stones or trees nothing happens apart from the characters making sounds....(this makes Lydie and Suelle totally unplayable as I cannot progress in tutorial because I cannot destroy the rock) Anyone knows what causing this?

Mine is running with Intel HD graphics 520 and AMD R5 M335 and it is at least playable so far... Try editing the setting configuration file in the documents..
Try changing your windows power options to High performance or try changing the switchable graphics to High performance in your dedicated graphic card settings... Or change the main resolution of your computer to game resolution and try to run the game
your specs are actually significantly higher than most modern low end hardware, which could be how your "older" hardware can run it better. 16GB RAM is also overkill, which can significantly improve performance, even with integrated graphics, though you use a GTX 10 series GPU from NVIDIA, which is already more powerful than most budget GPUs that most people still have
This game is NOT optimized for PC whatsoever. This is a pretty disappointing port. That being said, I guess I shouldn't be surprised that KoeiTecmo doesn't care for PC.
People would like to test the game out before purchasing it. And some, like me can't afford it even if I want to support buy the legit game. Also reviews from steam are complaining about graphical and control issues. So best wait till they fix it.

What if I told you, you didn't have to wait for exceeded quotas (on Gdrive). Click the Gdrive link, get taken to the black page with the "Download" and "Connect More Apps" button, look to the top right for the triangle (Gdrive icon) with the '+', click the button to add the file to your google drive. Now go to your google drive account and find the file and right click on it to open the menu. Click on "Make a Copy". Now download the copy of the original file. After you're done downloading, delete the copy from your drive and the trash bin of your drive.
yup, i've done this all the time. just copy the files to your gdrive, and you can download it whenever you can. Not enough space? just create another account for another 15gb space. I've created 4 account just to download, because i'm on limited data plan, so i can download it later when i can without worrying it will be deleted.
You don't need to make new accounts. Just delete the "Copy" from both your drive and your trash bin and you'll get your space back. I've probably downloaded over a terabytes worth of data from the same free 15 GB space that Google offers.

how in the fuck this game has minimum requirement gtx 1050? This is higher than almost all the triple A titles lol wtf
this game is not even CLOSE to triple A graphics, this is more like 2010ish graphics, and thats being very generous considering the anime style, polygon count is pretty damn low comparing to real triple a titles, this should not require a 1050.....
i am not complaining, i have 2070, i am just saying this is pretty ridiculous considering the grade of graphics here.
lets think to fix that~
In the game's directory theres a file called Atelier_Ryza_Launcher.exe , You can set to fullscreen from there, you also can change graphic settings and controls there.
maybe that would work.
Update: Just found out that I have run as admin and now it works properly again.

Also its playable on my Ryzen 5 laptop with Vega 8 and 8gb ram. Can run very smoothly if its on 720p but on 1080p it lags. I'm glad I can still play newer games on this spec. If I save enough I could get a external GPU.

Notably, when I try to swing my staff to hit enemies to start battles or stones or trees nothing happens apart from the characters making sounds....(this makes Lydie and Suelle totally unplayable as I cannot progress in tutorial because I cannot destroy the rock)

Click the Gdrive link, get taken to the black page with the "Download" and "Connect More Apps" button, look to the top right for the triangle (Gdrive icon) with the '+', click the button to add the file to your google drive. Now go to your google drive account and find the file and right click on it to open the menu. Click on "Make a Copy". Now download the copy of the original file. After you're done downloading, delete the copy from your drive and the trash bin of your drive.
No need to create new accounts.
