I for one don't understand the point of these games... so you just read and listen to the story? and that's the game? THis would be SO DOPE if it had a fun game under it. like some card battle or triple triad or something cool. the story and voice acting are great, but that alone doesn't do jack for me.

a lot of VNs are pretty much interactive books where you read the story and said story is heavily affected by your choices , it seems offputting for a lot of people but it is simple and effective and can be used to make some dope ass story telling like FATE , or you could use the tention from not knowing a lot about where your decisions will lead you to make horror stories that far exeed stuff pourd out of hollywood like ZERO TIME DILLEMA , or it could be a porn based dating sim , point is , its pretty engaging in its own way

Visual Novels, especially the ones with well written stories and choice systems, are pretty popular over in Japan. Although the following isn't as substantial in the US or Europe, some still like them, particularly people are into reading fiction novels

Yeah, but a fair number of them you literally just read. I mean, I can go to a library any time I want.
I'm not arguing against the game type, it just seems like a waste.

Well, to you it may seem like a waste, but to others, they're a good alternative to books. I'd wager some people have a harder time concentrating on just words, so the combination of words and the visual presentation that comes with VNs just...does it for them, I guess. I can't say I'm in this category of person myself, but I know there are definitely a substantial amount of people who prefer visual novels to novels, for one reason or another. Could just be simple preference as well.
Personally, I like them because the art is often really good, but I also appreciate how well written the stories can be, and I like a novel where I can potentially choose how the story goes.

some people just want to have a chill and immersive story.

Japan loves their visual novels.
They've been having them since before the PSX era. Back then it was more about stat management tho. Still, it's the same as reading a book.

Got super excited seeing this here, thinking to myself 'wow it's finally done" and.....nope still early access. lol It'll be a great VN once it's done if that ever happens. The demo was pretty good as others have suggested, especially if cyber punk is your thing.

STILL in the fckn early access. This thing will never get done. Ffs, was really happy to see it, because the demo was awesome.

I bought this one, it's point and click VN, but sadly early access. I liked the demo when it came out.
