Thing is, most players who love Gothic 2, like me, just really enjoy everything you dislike. "you never know where to go and who to talk to." If people who give you the quests knew, why would they even ask you ? "You end up just entering every house randomly, hoping that one of the guys will help you finish your quest. This is simply pitiful." That's just being pretty bad at the game, I am sorry... Gothic 2 gives nice hints about what to do in the game, but gotta think a bit about it. It all makes sense. Or you can waste your time. "Controls are the worst I've seen in the history of games." Hey they're pretty bad indeed, but Gothic is not really about gameplay and combat, though. Just get used to it :D " try to train your memory." That's it, and it's actually pretty fun, as you feel like you're alive as a player, and not just watching and following the game systems. "the game does NOTHING for you." That's what is the most enjoyable, in fact. What's the point playing a game you have nothing else to do but follow a path & markers to find what you are looking for ? I wish life would be that way too, but it's not. Game developpers decided to go that way, and that is what makes Gothic a true exploration RPG to me. Overall, I feel like you do enjoy modern games who give you everything without doing anything ? Gothic 2 was my 1st ever solo RPG, and is still my favorite with The Witcher series, because I do not feel like being assisted for anything that happens in the game. Be an adventurer, and find the way, no one is gonna find it for you.
It's shit if you're talking worst about this game though. You may never knew, how can so irritating to know someone insult our favorite game is. Yes, I admit Gothic 2 are so confusing at beginner, but If you play more than a year, you will find this game are so enjoyable. Not having Quest Marker, Vague Quest are the parts which more exciting about this. Full of Mystery, Good Story, etc. I'm already finish this game more than 20 times already and I'm still enjoying it. Please don't say it piece of crap about this game. You don't know, how hard the developer to make this game. You'd say the graphic suck? Yes, I admit it. But that's just because it released around 2003 or maybe 2002 which technology are still worse. If you don't like it, don't play it. But, please don't say a crap about this game either. Tq
