Wow, this is actually super cool! It's like the first Might and Magic games, with cute old-school pixel art, and good old turn-based combat. Of course, it has more options, HD resolutions, it's easier to save, and it's just way more comfortable to play in general. (Do you remember how painfully slow the first M&M games were?) I don't know if it's just me, but I find it veeeery easy, but it's really great for bad gamers like me. he he๐ You won't find a very complex battle system and complicated quests here. The UI is one of the best I've seen ever. It's so easy to cast magic, change your equipment, etc. Everything has been well-thought. As for the story, a Steam review says it better than me : "World lore is simple, but in a purposeful and charming way." It works for me ! Also, it's great that you're free to go anywhere you want, which means you can encounter too strong enemies almost right away! Careful! To answer the comment below, the developer said the game isn't 100% finished, but he's patching it almost every day. It's already perfectly playable and totally addictive ! I didn't expect much when I saw this game the first time, but I love it! lol If you want a - MUCH - bigger challenge, you can try https://igg-games.com/grimoire-heralds-398718645-winged-exemplar-free-download.html. Legends of Amberland is much easier and much more accessible.
I love the old Might and Magic games. The difficulty options are strange in this game. You need more xp on the higher settings to level up. Would feel way more rewarding if the enemies are more difficult (more damage/hp/resistances/new abilities) but you also get more xp and better stuff. Would spice up future playthroughs. But all it does now is making future playthroughs a slog when enemies are harder and you're needing way more xp to level up.
Maybe the developer shouldn't have left early access yet. It's unfinished, but he's working on it every day really hard, and I'm confident he'll complete it soon.๐
