That's not true. Some games have LAN and some even have dedicated servers.

You can't play Mp on donwload games, this is the same since the video games exist, try it, if you love it than buy it

That's not true tho' , in modern games it is really rare to find those, but back in the days there were a few games that you could download and can play online (and even came with bunch of hack like wallhack and such)
And not to mention Hamachi, but that's a different type of online.
