You cannot get rid of it since it seems like the argument was built into its launcher. Even if you downloaded your addons, they won't appear in that list but still be implemented into the game. If you really want it so bad, just buy the game.

The antivirus detected it as a malware. So, if you want to fix it, just turn off the antivirus. There you go. Or, if you use Windows Defender, go to settings, then go to excluded files and locations, choose the game root, add, save, and that's it. It will cause the antivirus don't scan to the game root, so Windows Defender willn't detect it and delete it anyway.

THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT FOR MODS (READ ALL OF IT OR IT WONT WORK) i searched for a solution for days , and i thanked myself so hard for finding it first of all you need 7zip and not rar and you need gwtools 3.0 now find an addon then go to https://www.steamworkshopdownloader.io/ and do the direct download option after that download the mod you want by copying the mods url from the steam workshop on the web then after that you can simply watch a video about how to do that if you are to lazy to do that ima tell you put the file you downloaded and gwtools in one folder run gwtools ("DO NOT RUN IT ON ADMINISTRATOR") and then put the file you downloaded to it , it will say you need to extract it , right click on the new file you got from gwtools and click extract here after that put the new file into gwtools and Voila after that go to the gmod folder (if you dont know where just right click on the gmod.exe shortcut and click properties click open file location then after that go to garrysmod/addons put the file there assuming its just an addon (mine was a folder and the mod was a spiderman mod) NOW THIS IS CRUTIAL there is cfg file that its only function is to register your pc as banned and deny access to addons now it is located in garrysmod/cfg then you'll know the files when you see them DELETE those and try to run the game and it should work properly my version of the story was the addons did not show up in the addons section but when i search for the mod on the search the thing (spiderman) while on the Q menu i see the addons right there. If a cracked game has a multiplayer in it, and a LAN option to the multiplayer, its 95% sure you can play with anyone in LAN with the right connections(Im talking about hamachi, radminVPN, zerotier one)... If you have problem with server connection, TRY TO UPDATE, if you have problems with addons, you have it WRONG istalled (manualy), and if you have other problems (like updating), unistall this game and then download NEW files from there

I downloaded the game and installed it. I ran the updater and clicked on patch. The patch finished and the game started. I checked if singleplayer was working correctly, and it was. I also downloaded the cs:s content pack. But i have a problem: I downloaded some addons with the workshop downloader website and extracted them with GWTool and put them into the addon folder. But none of the addons are showing up in game. I have no idea why. Please help me, if you have any ideas on how to fix this.
of course if you have steam, you can login to steam and find some multiplayer servers. such as prop hunt. or just a regular sandbox server. and maybe even some obstacle courses in the steam workshop you can create your own server. hope this helped kismagya05 danis.

It's not a virus , you need to crack every thing right or your system will think it's a virus , the good thing about this site is that it can't go down because THEY pay for the ads , support the site and legaly keeping it safe. I have Starbound , CrossCode and more and i never got a single virus. Trust me , its my mine o' gold.
for any questoin if it works on 86x/64x/32x all valve games work on most of systems, so gmod and hl2 should work also igg update the gmod on the torrent site and if it asks to update dx, just re-install it or update it (you can do it with msupdate) and need at least (i think) dx 9.0c (tested on winxp machine of 9.0c, it works)
Cedric , make sure your steam.api file is cracked. If you safely extracted all the components from the file , it should work fine. If not , try going to a .txt file and got to: SteamName:"Null" and switch the Null with your Username.

cough i think i found how to work the app uses a crack launcher which is giving a error to wine,playonlinux you can use another app like SmartSteamEmu (haven't tried yet) and just add the hl2.exe to the app and then add the commands line that its needed I am looking forward to make most of these apps to work on linux so everybody can play no matter what operating system :)

This crack for the game is from storgino cs portal which they made the servers too, Storgino CS Portal made the servers so everybody can play, they changed some of the files of the original game
Nope. The crack makes it so it doesn't need steam. Steam has a piracy check on games, so the crack gets rid of the steam check, but steam features like steam cloud won't work.

Yeah I know however half the mods I install don't work. The only mods that I got working was the tellytubbies playmodels and that's it, I tried S-Cars, Midas Canon I even tried the Steam Workshop Downloader however nothing worked.

Guys if you want it to work extract them all to one file, do copy and replace to all. After that it will start to do an update which will take roughly an hour to complete
Hey, Umm whenever I run this it doesn't do anything. Not an error... Or anything at all, am I doing something wrong? I launch the game but nothing even pops up is a better way to say it.
2- you will have a zip file, what you have to do is copy from there the steam api.dll and steam api 64.dll and move it to Garrys Mod/Bin/

i tried to open it from steam itself i added it to steam as a non-steam game
just run updater.exe and click patch dont forget to run steam then the game will start
when i go to check the files on ''updating garrys mod'' as soon as he checks ''garrys_mod.exe'' it says ''check cacelled due to an error'' and the ''garrys_mod.exe'' file somehow changes to ''garrys_mod.lamebak''.
Don't really know what to do here fr. Would appreciate sum help.

Even if you downloaded your addons, they won't appear in that list but still be implemented into the game. If you really want it so bad, just buy the game.

is this cause I downloaded it on a different drive cause i hope not
i searched for a solution for days , and i thanked myself so hard for finding it
first of all you need 7zip and not rar and you need gwtools 3.0
now find an addon then go to https://www.steamworkshopdownloader.io/ and do the direct download option after that download the mod you want by copying the mods url from the steam workshop on the web then after that you can simply watch a video about how to do that
if you are to lazy to do that ima tell you
put the file you downloaded and gwtools in one folder
run gwtools ("DO NOT RUN IT ON ADMINISTRATOR") and then put the file you downloaded to it , it will say you need to extract it , right click on the new file you got from gwtools and click extract here after that put the new file into gwtools and Voila after that go to the gmod folder (if you dont know where just right click on the gmod.exe shortcut and click properties click open file location then after that go to garrysmod/addons put the file there assuming its just an addon (mine was a folder and the mod was a spiderman mod)
NOW THIS IS CRUTIAL
there is cfg file that its only function is to register your pc as banned and deny access to addons
now it is located in garrysmod/cfg
then you'll know the files when you see them DELETE those
and try to run the game and it should work properly
my version of the story was the addons did not show up in the addons section
but when i search for the mod on the search the thing (spiderman) while on the Q menu i see the addons right there.

tried restarting, didnt have antivirus turned on, tried clearing caches and so. Doesnt seem to work even after restart

also igg update the gmod on the torrent site
and if it asks to update dx, just re-install it or update it (you can do it with msupdate) and need at least (i think) dx 9.0c (tested on winxp machine of 9.0c, it works)

Saying this for the linux users
However it's compatibility is very... bad.
the app uses a crack launcher which is giving a error to wine,playonlinux
you can use another app like SmartSteamEmu (haven't tried yet) and just add the hl2.exe to the app and then add the commands line that its needed
I am looking forward to make most of these apps to work on linux so everybody can play no matter what operating system :)
