Hmmmm I really love athletics, and we desperately need a good athletics game on PC...
Too bad there's no swimming and diving, apparently...
Olympic Gold (Barcelona 92) had it in 1992, on Megadrive...🤔 (it still has some entertaining parts, even in 2019!)
This game doesn't do much better than Decathlete, released on Saturn in 1996!😲

One thing I loved back then was how charismatic and memorable characters were.
In this game, they just look like the boring "Mii" on Wii. lol
At the moment, I guess the most fun athletics game is still the latest "Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games" ? I have it on 3DS. These characters too are memorable and lovable.
Edit: OK I played with it for an hour. It's not that bad. But it feels VERY much like a mobile game. Also, almost no options whatsoever. The game will run on a potato, at least. There are no tutorials and I had to figure out the controls, but you do get visual hints, which are sometimes not enough to succeed, though. (I wonder if I'll ever see a game with a proper pole vault event which doesn't make me ragequit...)
You can play with your mouse(I highly suggest you don't, because you'll break it... Many events require you to click very fast...) Choose a gamepad instead.
I like the archery event, but I feel like the wind effect is very random.
Sometimes, it's just 5m/s East so I adjust to aim for the 10... But then if it's 9m/s, you have to adjust way further, but less if it's 7m/s? Sorry for my bad explanation, but anyway, it seemed very random to me...
I really appreciate that I can practice as much as I want any event, and set the difficulty level freely as well.
Again, it's not too bad, but I'm actually not having more fun than with Olympic Gold... lol
I can't wait for Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 !
