Hi folks, I'm the creator of this VR experience - I appreciate your interest in this kind of content and if you would like to support my work please consider buying the piece on Steam. This is very much a project of the heart and took me 18 months as well as thousands of rendering hours to create. Thank you, Marc

The graphics are good, which make me want to try it, but then the VR is a dealbreaker for me. Also, I have a large backlog of games I haven't played yet.

  1. Overpriced
  2. "the next big thing" since 1980s without substantial improvements
  3. uncomfortable no matter how light the set is, remember 3D TVs? people were lazy to even keep track of and wear a pair of glasses
  4. VR sickness-nausea ,headache
  5. cable management LOLOLOL
  6. Not much content and Lame games
  7. dodgy motion sensors
  8. less graphic fidelity than conventional gaming setup. what you see on adverts are fakes.
  9. requires a substantial update to an already fulfilling gaming setup just for a headache lol
  10. And finally VR is totally surviving on the novelty. the first time , yes everyone will go O.O but then just headaches LOL
and ofc billions of dollars are pouring into it and it is understandable , anything goes for the corporations LOL.

No every one gets vr sick. i never have. ive had 0 issues with my cable and there are wireless options for some headsets. theres actually a lot of fun content out there but a lot of it just unfortunately on the short side. Dodgy motion sensors how? I have a rift S and it tracks perfectly unless i put the controllers out of the cameras view which is to be expected and not often needed. Graphics are actually pretty damn good on the rift s with some games. yes its a step down for some games but its also an entirely different experience. Update how? vr can be run on as low as a 960. I built my pc a couple years ago with a 1070 and it hasnt had a single issue with vr yet. And yes vr is the most amazing the first few times it is used, but it is still a blast to play after that. More better games are coming out that will wow people again. Part of the reason VR isnt as popular is due to people not supporting it and its still relatively new on the consumer market. You can now buy an oculus quest for $400 and not need a pc and have wireless gameplay. That makes it a lot more accessible and should help spark a lot more interest in vr. The only downside is the graphics are a pretty decent downgrade but what do you expect for spending $400 instead of $1000 on a gaming pc + $400 on a rift s. in another few years it will be even cheaper and even cheaper pcs will be able to run it. once that happens adoption will rise and AAA companies will start making full length games for it.

"Part of the reason VR isnt as popular is due to people not supporting it and its still relatively new on the consumer market"
that is the point dear. people are not supporting it, because "people" are not dumb like very few spoiled brats. like i said before remember when they launched 3D TVs with pairs of glasses? that didn't take off because people found that even reaching for a piece of plastic everytime you want to watch TV was stupid and tiring. why you think google glass din't take off?? it is the little comforts that matter most when it comes to entertainment. a box strapped to your head? LOL
btw it maybe new to consumer market now, but its been around since 80s , it is because corporations thought this is the time to make money and sadly , it failed but people don't realize it. and they will try everything to keep the buzz going. it may become mainstream if vr somehow can be projected by some super duper advanced contact lences or directly inducing visuals in brain through some devices sized like handsfree... you know that level of shit can be mainstream in a second maybe in distant future, but a box strapped to you head, I doubt lol

I'm 40 years old and thouroughly enjoy my VR headset. I have waited for VR to become consumer ready since the mid/late 1980's when I tried the Virtuosity headset. The only thing that's evident to me from your misinformed and outright incorrect ramblings is that, you've never actually tried VR and are salty that you don't have a HMD.

You keep saying yourself that because you don't want to feel robbed lol
I mean look at even the most promising VR games like upsoming Medal of Honour, extreme physical annoyance, the very basic problem. catch a grenade?? seriously?
I don't know about you people but I play games for fun after annoying every day physical and mental chaos. I even find mouse and keyboard too laboury. BUT if you fat fucks who sits and play VR to find a bit of physical activity and self worth by owning "New Tech" that is not my problem.

You make so many assumptions and inject so much personal conjecture, not only is it laughable it's downright incorrect. Is VR perfect? No. Is it worth having? For me and many others, absolutely. I have way more fun with it than I do with "pancake" games, and I have less trouble with it than other PC hardware I've owned in the past. Keep going with your personal attacks... it's really helping your case here. LOL!

When I play video games, I prefer to not have to move any part of my body other than my fingers and occasionally my head. And no, I am not lazy, I am capable of walking miles in 90-105 F while wearing a fleece-lined water-repellent jacket. I just prefer to keep my entertainment and my physical activity separate.

they know it as well, but they just can't admit it because like i said below, they only feel worthy by these niche shit. the moment you have to strap a mini theater on your head and completely cut off from real world and look like a retard, any sensible people will instanope it. look at these shills upvoting. beyond recovery. haha they want so badly separate people from reality. these kind are the stupid fucks who buy lootcrates, cosmetics for real money, paying for preorder /beta early access and other shit. these types are the ones who make apes look more intelligent.

Lol, are you one of those spoiled kids who ONLY get fulfillment by bragging about using these niche shits and calling others can't afford and jealous? you are the most entertaining to us and most milky cows for the tech corporations.
listen boi, when I was younger and had only a laptop with on board gpu and I used to be drooling over those max graphics settings gameplay videos and longed for a proper gaming pc. Now I OWN a gaming pc with a GTX 1060 and can max out almost anything and guess what, I am not having the same kind of gameplay fun when i had that shitty laptop, then I realized the truth, the more I engage in gameplay the less fuck i give about graphics / or even fps. many people know this truth. further more, the regular PC shop i purchase my stuff has the display units with VR , latest gpus, high refresh monitors etc....and yes I know what all of them are like. I may be not richer than you but CAN afford any of them if i wanted (and i am saving for a 144hz monitor because it is something.). but I out of of all of them VR is the most cringeworthy niche shit. there is nothing wrong with calling niche , niche snowflake. go put on your VR and pretend you are in future retardo.

I grew up with those controllers but also witnessing the failure of more sophisticated kinect and ps move. vr is the same category forever niche for mainstream. lol horizon my ass, I see a horizon of stupid fucks taking mini theaters off their heads and oblivious about real world.

also, you can have anything you want. whatever floats your boat. at least i've given a piece of my mind to tell you how other feels and i'm sure you'll try to reply with "here's how i feel" cliche, so i get you. you don't need to reply. but you really should see things differently since you might not really see a lot that is happening already. just my two cents

lol you talk about more engagement in gameplay yet are shitting all over vr which is the way to be the most engaged and immersed in the game play.... Have you even tried vr with a good fun game?
also hahahahahahahahaha at running almost anything at max with a 1060. maybe on a 1080p monitor at 30/60fps in some not very demanding games. also why buy a 144hz monitor if all you have is a 1060? you wont be achieving 144hz unless you drop to low settings or play low demand games.

I mean engaging game play requiring skills. not to hold two dildos at my hand standing still with a box strapped to my head pew pew ing at zombies or awestruck at a dinosaur coming at me LOL. people are already upset at how dumbed down conventional games are. TALK ABOUT VR games LOLOLOL...
what are you ahahahahaha'ing about a 1060 (6G) maxing out almost anything? yes i play on 1080p and can get 60-70fps in farcry new dawn 80-100fps in gta 5 and sub 60s in newest titles...oh you mean maxing out means 2K , 4K with raytracing LOLOL tell me how many times you look at parts of the monitor other than the the very small center ? especially playing first person shooters and racing games, answer is you don't. that's correct even on a 1080p display you don't look at 80% of the screen while seriously engaged in gameplay.
for the 144hz, I am not getting that for current shit pile of interactive movies.I know they are just graphically bloated shitpile with extremely dumbed down gameplay, i don't give a shit about trying them with 144z. i am getting 144hz for real GAMES. old gems like half life 2 , mass effect 2 , f.e.a.r...etc
I tell you what , take off your VR shit off your head, TRY half life 2 in a 144hz monitor with a beer. tell me which experience was better.
ps - don't try to grab a bottle while being VR strapped.

For engaging games that require skills theres plenty of multiplayer games. Echo arena/combat, rec room for sports and other stuff, space junkies, pavlov, onward, beatsaber, ect. Shooters in general take more skill than flat gaming because you actually have to physically move and aim.
lol at not looking at all but the center of your screen... in competitive games you look all over your screen. Also a higher res doesnt always mean bigger screen or more to look at. It mostly means things are sharper and easier to read. I play a lot of overwatch and a few other shooters and use most of my screen when looking out for enemies.
soooooo what are you calling shitpile interactive movies? I got a 144hz monitor for competitive gaming like rocket league, overwatch, racing games, ect. The smoothness helps a lot with fast movements.
Half life 2 is an over rated game btw. played it and thought it was okay but nothing spectacular. just not something i enjoyed. Not saying all newer games are massively better, but if you arent having fun with newer games you likely just arent finding the ones that fit your tastes the best.
FYI I can actually grab a drink/food while wearing my vr headset, hell Ive even used my phone while in vr. My headset has the ability to see your surroundings via passthrough cameras and while its black and white and little distorted due to being IR cameras, they perform the job well enough.
Literally the only reason to shit on vr right now is due to the lack of long AAA quality single player story driven games. Heres the thing though... If vr is just constantly shit on and not supported by a big enough user base, it will never get those types of games. Its just like consoles. The Wii U had a very small user base to start with and it never grew into a large enough one so it didn't get any top notch 3rd party games.

before going into vr , first i address the elephant in the room regarding hl2 or anyother old proper 'game' being mediocre or annoying for people like you is the very dumbing down of games and ofc you. guess why bf1 even had an auto lean? kids these days so dumbed down that they defend the offenders themselves. i mean look at you even though it is pretty much obvious how much retarded vr is , you still find excuses to make it look like a thing. please tell me honestly how often you want to detach your self by strapping a box on your face? and your last part, lack of "QUALITYZZZ GAMEZZZ FOR VRZZZ" is an oxymoron itself isn't ? how can they even think of quality content without a reliable, precise navigation and other vital game play mechanics? like i said before it is always going to be 2 dildos at hand or some teen 'OZZOM'NG' at a demonstration holding a rifle pretending to be real soldier lol. hell it is so bad i don't even know where to begin to address these kids.

lol dumbed down games arent ones that i generally play. also your standard military shooters have been pretty much garbage for a while now.
You just seem mad that people actually enjoy vr for some reason.
and honestly what the fuck does it matter what i look like to those around me as i play? im having fun and enjoying it. thats all that matters. if you are self conscious enough to feel like you are holding 2 dildos and looking retarded when playing vr then you have issues.
Also funny how you mention playing vr as an escape. all video games are an escape. all video games grab your attention and cut you off from the real world to some degree, depending on the person.
You act like im a child speaking nonsense when im 30 and grew up playing the nes and beyond. vr isnt perfect but its still fun as hell and in its infancy. it wont get any better if everyone just shit talks it and abandons it. fuck vr has the potential to help a lot of people outside gaming. its social. people with issues that prevent them from leaving home or who are in a hospital can use vr to be transported somewhere else and hang out with friends and socialize.
you act like it is objectively shit tech with no uses and everything about it is awful. I coulda said the same exact thing about the first computers, tvs, game consoles, cellphones, or litterally any tech.

you don't understand and you contradict, you said you grew up with nes and you don't realize that this vr shit been around since 60s lol. it is not new, just refurbished like it got similar pushes in 80s, 90s, early 2000s. never took off lol. and it never will. trust me, greedy corporate WILL pour billions even if a cent to be profited. it doesn't mean it is mainstream just because you like new techs and admire them. you have to see beyond your personal likes to really understand what will take off and what will not, than purely relying on how old are you or what classic console you grew up with lol.

lol yeah vr in a very very rudimentary sense. old vr didnt have much for accurate tracking or even controller tracking for hand movement for the most part. hell i had a virtual boy and wouldnt even consider the old vr stuff to even be remotely the same category as we have now.
also if its not gonna take off then why have the oculus quests(the most approachable vr with the lowest price of all current vr) been sold out pretty much everywhere since release?
I mean the wii got a lot of the same criticisms being called a fad, but yet its one of the best selling consoles ever.
