I downloaded this version because i want to verify what others people saying, and to be frank, i really hope that people are lying and you were telling the truth, you using different version of the game or you never made it far to where the emperor told your ''4 colony has been captured'' progress cutscene, THATS when the anti piracy start deleting all your progress, this anti piracy is disgusting because i never seen any devs doing this, even other dev who doesnt condone pirate prob wont go as cruel like this.
To be frank, this game is shit, it is fun at some point, but at the same time its killing your enjoyment at the same time, its massive time consuming especially even on 1 level, or that dumb exploration where your character moves and shoot like snail, is it worth buying? if you are masochist, yes. I do play on normal difficulty though, while it not as hard like the other one, it is fucking punishing you over small mistake and cost you few hours of your life.
(also wtf why cant you make more than three row of walls? that doesnt make any sense, you are the one whos in charge to defend the colony, this rule is just dumb, the dev really taking away your freedom to not have fun in this game)
dont think the dev is doing better treating legit customer either, all i see on steam is bunch of people also complaining how theres no save/load section and the dev putting their head on their ass calling it as ''feature'', especially with how they kept removing that ''save/load'' mod system and never allowing other to mod the game.
so yeah at the same time, they deserved to be pirated 100%, but im sure theres better game out there that will appreciate more of your time and effort, i hope igggame can fix this one though.
(edit: the survival actually playable and has every tech, much better over campaign imo)
I'm the anon above and I'm telling you 100% I did not get that issue with the progress deletion. I managed to play until the last level and beat that level but there right as I kill the final zombie my game crashes. I thought that was the anti piracy feature inside the game.
You are right for the critique of the game, it had potential but the devs are massive retards. Imagine what we could've got with mods and qol features...
There's perhaps a benefactor that know exactly what was the last version without anti-piracy measures? Years ago i played without any issue trought the campaign, unlocked last mission-map, then i "reinstall" and restarted playing without knowing of the "bad news"; now i can't remember the version, i think it was 1.0.10 or 1.0.14, some post declared that 1.0.5 was the last one, i see that is possible to recover many old ones, even from the IGG torrent site.
Hey I saw your post and I actually had the v1.0 of the game along with the v1.0.5 patch. Its the last version that doesn't have the tech tree reset anti-piracy problem. I'm not sure if this version has random zombies spawning in your base, but I didn't have any problems up until the 6th level I played. Here's the download that has both the v1.0 ISO that IGG uploaded on June 19, 2019 and the v1.0.5 patch inside. This is the Steam version not the GOG one.
Thanks you sir for the info and tips. Meanwhile i installed and tried some other version, the most recent one that don't seems to have the anti-pyracy tech tree reset is: "They Are Billions v1.0.14.44-GOG" (founded not on IGG, the steam non GOG version have anti-piracy) but i presume that the last one working crack , Steam version, is the one you very kindly share the download: "v.1.0 HOODLUM" updated to 1.0.5. Our posts sure will help the IGG community.
I went back to install v1.0.14.44 to test that version and you're right, the tech reset anti-piracy problem does not happen. In v1.1.4.10 ( the latest version), the tech reset does happen on level 7, win or lose. So the first 6 levels are safe for the latest version of the campaign, but yea just play on v1.0.14.44.
Yea if anyone wants that version you can download it from the IGG torrent site or Google "They Are Billions v1.0.14.44-GOG" and it'll be the 1st result. I don't know if the random zombie spawns where they spawn in your base and cause you to lose are a problem in this version, but you could have both v1.0.5 and v1.0.14.44 installed and switch to the older one if you run into that problem. I would make a backup of your save files in the "Documents/My Games/They Are Billions" folder just before you play each level in case you run into any problems.
Anyway, thanks for the info about v1.0.14.44 being free from tech reset anti-piracy problem.
READ THIS For everybody, please compleatly describe your process of startuping, playing and loosing your progres in comments, iam trying to understant this problem and solve it, BECAUSE NO ONE will help us! So I actualy dont have that issue but i think its just luck....
According to the Steam/GOG forums, the Devs put the Tech Tree reset in the game as deterrent to pirating. There is a 'fix' but it is locked in the Steam Forums and you need the game in your Library to access that info. The only suggestion I found was reinstalling the game, but the problem will occur again. :(
i have some issue. as i play the game the tech tree begin to reset on its own after i reach a certain level. it happens when i go through the same level
I discovered the tech tree after a few missions, and started putting point it just before the mission when you are on a plain, after the first one (you have to go up). I got towers, built one, then lost shortly after. I went afk and closed the game, then came back and started a new run. All ma tech tree was erased at the start of the new mission, couldn't build towers or soldiers anymore. More specifically, after completing the mission, all my tech choices were reset to zero but I didn't get my "science points" back, so you are effectively gimped forever. Haven't tried any further, don't want to lose more time on this.
I see that the devs have implemented yet another anti-piracy measure. Does anyone know what version this measure works in? If someone does know pls reply so people know which version to download. I assume the base version is fine and only the two update versions are affected.
your best option is to search free gog pc games and download it by torrent file the gog version has no anti piracy measues but you lose the custom maps best trade off
For me the latest version 1.1.4 got buggy and crashed after some time, disabling itself after some time. The version "Dip Sarn" provided works flawlessly.
Hi ,I want to ask is anyone download it very slowly like 200 KB to 100 KB ,it's so shocking,it cannot be seem when I download other games.I have download it for hours ,it make me feel blue.
The game crashes after killing the last zombie on the last level. Am I the only one with this bug? Is this a new anti-piracy feature? I couldn't find any info on this bug.
I dont think they updated it yet. I requested update too but they ignored it. Same for AoE2/DE, they just ignore all update requests. igg-games is kinda dead, they dont update anything anymore.
begging here does absolutely nothing igg simply share the cracked games, they are not associated with any of the scene groups. If no one is cracking the games then igg will never have it.
Warning : this game have anti-piracy measures and reset a few things every restart of the game. Make sure it is a GoG version or do not download because you will loose your progress I'm looking for a download with the game up to date with no anti piracy measures...
I keep getting a bug where all my tech progress has reset. Some people online is saying this is an anti pirating feature. Is anyone having this issue or can anyone help?
When I launch the Steamclient_Loader.exe, It keeps trying to install SlimDX runtime everytime I launch it even if I already installed it in the first time. Anyone knows how to fix this?
nah, the main link downloads a "They.Are.Billions.v.1.0.19.9" directly, the updates are remains of previous builds, left to confuse rookies in purpose i think
Got the same problem at the start because I was trying to run TheyAreBillions.exe. Run steamclient_loader.exe instead. That worked for me. Also, if you create a shortcut of the loader, just rename it to They Are Billions so you wouldn't confuse it with something else. You can also right-click that, go to properties and change the icon (browse the theyarebillions.exe file to get the proper icon).
Hello Guys, Is there any more game like this which have... Low/decent graphics / Building / Management / Survival & Defend I recently played some base building game but they are just about survival like force of nature or PlanetBase etc. I am really looking for defending kind base building games but not with linear game play. I really loved PlanetBase & FoN but sad no defensive building is there :(
Couple games I can think of that may somewhat be what youre looking for: Judgment: Apocalypse Survival Simulation Rise to Ruins Few others not exactly like, but still highly recommended for base building / survival / management: Frost Punk Kenshi Raiders Forsaken Earth State of Decay 2 Juggernaut Edition Satisfactory
Oh I see now. You ware spanked by your daddy when u ware small. So mutch anger from you, you damn troll cry baby. I bet hi shared you with his friends too
Awww...do you need a friend? Seems like you wanna be BFFs at this rate, lol. Im not interested. Go poke at someone else if you need a friend so badly & need so much attention.
omg ur so damb dude. just go f and again go f xD. kinda like you want so mutch of a friend xD. go cry in a pillow xD. like the f you are 5 or 6 yo? xD so fckn cry baby. mummy i cant get this cracked game i get for free and bad ppl want to take it from me!! mummy!. like the f kido xD
Lol, just so you know, Im not even reading your long, idiotic rants at this point. Learn - short & succinct. Meanwhile, have fun with your long pointless ranting.
Same these nasty developers implement new anti piracy measures with each update sick and tired of wasting time all cheat engines online carry virus so can't use cheats they either work or don't plus infects your pc with virus
Thanks for letting me know. I really can't believe they added new anti-piracy measures into the game instead of more or better content! I use cheat engine 7.2 and it works fine i have 3 different malware and anti-virus programs and it's never alerted me to cheat engine. I really thought after they added the secret ninja zombies when the game 1st came out, you know the ones that just appear out of no where inside your walls bypassing all your defenses? I thought that was bad enough and they did it just to make a point but now they added more! If i paid for this game would be mad at the dev's If it's messed up to play it I'll probably just delete it then. If you need a good free antivirus/malware with a membership so you get full protection so you will never get infected. Let me know i can tell you where to go. I use it and have never had an issue actually it's saved me a few times already! Ok good luck and thanks for the heads up on the new anti-piracy program!
tbh I get the messues but come on this sounds like they are going into a full on war for this shit. the community will not stop finding the ways around it but what in the name of fuck shit should I know to avoid? whats the current live anti measures.
i use AVG antivirus, AVG Tune Up and also AbbasPC.Net_Malwarebytes Premium 4.1.2.73. I know a site that gives it to you for free! No BS Just a free full license as if you paid for it like what igg-games does with video games. If you can PM me i'll give you the site been using him for years well worth it.If i had to pay for the programs i use? I'd have to say about $200-$350 for one year.
yup thats the one took me a min to figure out you need to just use that it lauches the game by making it think steam is open, also close your steam before hand that goes without saying
help, the campaign mode it doesnt work and it closed by itself... can someone tell me how to fix this ?? i just can play survival mode...or my pc is just kinda potato spec
YES.......put over 100 hours into campaign, just to have it keep crashing seconds after defeating the last wave at day 120 on last mission.......the ultimate troll. Others have posted here about having this same issue as well... IF this is in fact an anti P move then FUCK YOU Devs & the people here seriously need to take this game DOWN or FIX IT!
Waaah, waaah, waaah, I got sand in my Mangina I want my Pirated games to work. MOMMIES, DADUMS, THE BAD MEN BROKE MY FREE GAME I DIDN'T PAY FOR, SUE THEM DADUMS, SUE THE BAD MEN FOR TRIGGERING MY ENTITLEMENT
ur just so damb man xD like fck ur comments made my day lol. u get something that ppl hard work for just via click and you cry like mther fcing child xD ur so retarded. get a work u damb f and u can buy it
Not that Im aware of. It seems to be hard-coded into the game to keep checking & kicking you every 15 secs or so once you reach a certain point in that last map. Saving & restarting, etc, etc didnt bypass it & was only thing I could think to do.

yeah, IF the update doesnt mess up the games files save... at this point, we know we actually beat the game, so Im just going to youtube the end game video sequence & watch it & pretend it my ending lol
It seems that the game has a strange bug that might have something to do with anti piracy measures. Sometimes you'll lose your research points in the campaign. Is this game automatically cracked, or is there no crack yet? It's hard to tell since I don't know if the bug happens because the game knows it's pirated.
It's the crack. It's a false positive. Back in the day, all cracks triggered AVS by how the crack operates. Most AVS have figured this out and wont trigger. Sometimes a crack may need to do something special in order to bypass a newer anti-piracy check (like this game here, seems to keep adding new ways to thwart piracy attempts) When in doubt, upload the file to a live AVS checker and see what other AVS programs have said about it and dig into the file itself and see what actions it creates, what it does and if it tries to "call home" etc..
What or more why are there these six password protected files? I know they are game files but why are they password protected? Something seems hmmm.... SoliderEdition.dat ZXCampaign.dat ZXCampaignStrings.dat ZXStrings.dat ZXRules.dat SniperEdition.dat
Latest version atm is V.1.0.14 for steam (Test Branch) and v1.0.14.44 for gog "UPDATE V1.0.5:" and "UPDATE V1.0.10.16:" is for old versions, do not try even install this crap. if you ask why mods still keep these updates available, you ask a good question :) the game is different numbering in the form of a file and different in the game menu, so there is a misunderstanding and an attempt to install older versions. There are many versions of crack, each can generate different problems with the save of the game, random zombie spawn, random zombie, crash, etc. . even supposedly using a working steam version of ALIEN Repack or ElAmigos saves may not "work" with the GOG version. Virtually every Steam version requires a block of it using a firewall to work properly. I assume that the GOG version does not require this. Nevertheless, it is better to use one version, either Steam or GOG, when talking about state saves. Remember to clear the remaining files from previous versions if you had problems before.
So, which one do we use? The latest version seems to have the missing research point bug, but some people said that installing the first update somehow fixes it.
I played this a while back, Install the first update only, Second update causes random infection. However some users said it won't happen if you disable internet. I haven't tested that out, You can try if you want to.
Ugh.. It's too hard, I thought i had enough fire power to defend my people but on the 22nd day the undead wave came and annihilated everything i had built. cries
i just found out Random infection is the anti piracy because we use crack to play free and the game still connect internet try disable internet and play it work for me one time only and the upgrade tree still not lose just after online and star next mission win or lose it all gone again
after i finish mission one by cheat and hold to hard house Random infectionand lose mission 2 one time i star cheat upgraded point and mix all the zombie stop Random infection i don't know why but to safe i put 6 to 10 wasp gun there to watch
end i use cheat and hold zombie house Random infection win mission and star crossrow mission i think it not going to Random infection again but still the same just day 10 is star infection and i lose now i ask how to win the cheater game like this need some help
need help i star new game play 800% first mission but lose my my house has zombie i try play again 2 time and put the archer and build the wall to house but it still became zombie house Random infection still there.
you should stop playing until the Random infection is fixed you are only wasting time and effort even if it is fixed like old updates it might break your save
about Random infection i star watch the house that infection is star put one zombie in canter house i saw it in time. and one thing when your archer kill the first house zombie fast it will re infection that house forever and the easy way is just put def there
Unfortunately 1.05 instantly crashes on the Crossroads. Never had a random zombie spawn though. On the first map of 1.10 a random zombie spawned in NE corner of base. A completely inaccessible spot. So definitely random spawn. Crossroads worked on a save from 1.05 at least. Save wasn't playable because tech got wiped and I had no points. Both have breaking issues unfortunately.
Are you sure you are not confusing Crossroads with Narrow Pass? Because The Narrow Pass only crashes in 1.0.0, it was fixed with 1.0.2 so it should have zero issues in 1.0.5.
Using the Hoodlum Torrent, which claims to be 1.0.5, it crashed every time (I didn't use 1.0.5 update because it said it was there already). I may have got the names mixed up. It was the 2 star level in the middle of the map.
yo guys i set up the game witrh the installer thingy and i click applied crack and when its done i click the game and it lead me to the steam site did i do anything wrong or forgetting something?
The crack exist, is legit and work 100%, @NoBODYHere share its name here 18 days ago, i pick it from a similar to IGG site, no malware, i dont know if sharing the site name is a good think, i cant read the "Comment Policy"....moderators! i ask your powers! help us ^_^
im gonna pretend i didn't see that and also the random infection varies beetween computers if the game is able to detect that you are using a pirated copy random infections happen but there is some lucky fellas who don't get detected for now i reccomend using 1.0.5
Smart move to use previous crack, maybe that can resolve the two anti-piracy issue that appear to many if not all, on the 1.0.10.16!? Nice that you shared the info, its strange that happen to you, not happen to me and for what i see to anyone. Hope you dont encouter the random infection behaviour(houses become instantly infected in middle of the base); but also i want to reassure you, and other, that the 1.0.10.16 update was named only as 1.0.10 inside the game menu, and same written on the change log that you should find it just near the vers that you read, bottom right, maybe you can test if 1.0.10 is applied in this way: you should succeed on opening the change log, then you can read it, and one of the last patch content is a new sound slide for the movie videos. I hope to be understandable, im not english native. ^_^
no but i on map lvl 4 it deadly the run zombie come to fast i has only 3 WASP i near lose but still can take back home slow and near lose the first wave it come alot like 20 time at one
I have the same problem as you, I retired from a mission and then I lost all my campaign technologies and didn't get a refund. I didn't get random infections though. I hope codex takes a look at this game. They always release good cracks and they update often.
It's still there, since the latest update is an UpdateOnly (so I assume there's no crack?). Had zero issues with 1.0.5 for the entire campaign, but then I downloaded 1.0.10 for the extra difficulty mode and got random infections on the very first mission.
ok,.. you have the same problems 1 time 2 times 3 times,... is better search this: Crack Proper (Lootbox/Goldberg) <- i try this , and the problems GONE. on the actual patch.
Yes! i confirm that the version "Crack Proper (Lootbox/Goldberg)" works for me too, no more random infection and no disappearing thechs, and continued campaign with save backup, where the 1.0.5 ,here, was good when updated to 1.0.10 instantly start the random infection. Thanks a lot NoBodyHere for the sharing info.
I found and downloaded from another similar to IGG Games, site. No malware or unknown installation software seems to happen on my pc. But also i see the recent post here, by "thank you" user, that have applied the 1.0.5 crack over 1.0.10 , if i can suggest, you can try that before reinstall the repack from other site(the one version i found was an already cracked installation, i have unistalled and copied the save folder, that i backup, to continue campaign) hope you resolve and maybe let other, here on IGG community, know how did it go, retro.
If you have reinstalled the "Crack Proper (Lootbox/Goldberg)" vers. from scratch, being certain that all folder, i mean also all the config and save files in (on win10)>C:\Users"name"\Documents\my games\They Are Billions< ...to me the random infection appear in middle of a campaign save(was also after many hours of play and the 3° or 4° building mission), only after the updated 1.0.10, and after the reinstall i backed up the same save and like it have appear it disappear in middle of gameplay/map...i hope you, and others, can resolve.
how do you guys get random infections? I just completed another mission, where I had to get 700 colonists, it took me 38 days ingame time and I did not see any random infections, all worked flawlessly, game is updated with the 2 updates you can download here.
hmm, did you played previous versions or so? Because I reinstalled the game X times with updates and the problem persist :/. I even deleted all configs + savegames and started a new campaign. Still random infections, usually every 10 days
I installed the initial release, played some missions, then installed 1.0.5, but did not play that (only started to check if the patch applied correctly and is seeable in the main menu bottom right, it was), now installed the newest and play it now.
Yup, 1.0.10 has the random infected anti-piracy shit. I opened up an ongoing game from a previous version and it immediately happened, then a few minutes later happened again. Both times in places inside several layers of walls, that were perfectly safe in the previous version. Garbage. Pity, cause the incompetent, blockheaded devs did add some important fixes in the updates, and a new difficulty level and some other stuff. But coming from people who have false Steam accounts they use to berate people in the forums who ask them to fix their shit or add important, completely optional improvements like saves, I'm not surprised they went out of their way to add some more anti-piracy "features"...
"They are billions must be played through the Steam Client" In version v0.10.5 I fixed this - it was something about delete or rename one of the steam_api files but I didn't remember which one. Can anyone help ?
This is happening because you forgot to copy the crack contents from They_Are_Billions_Update_v1.0.5-HOODLUM into your games installed location. Copy everything in HOODLUM (Crack) into the main game location and it should be fixed.
What about the random infection? It's even on updated versions (v1.0.5 & v1.0.10.16). Am I installing it bad or something? its usuallly after day 10. Thanks
After the v1.0.10.16 update zombies are randomly appearing in my houses and all the technology researched is erased!!!! How to get over this anti piracy feature??? The game was working fine until the 1.0.5 update but the 1.0.10.16 just destroys it!
There is a mission where you must defend your base and there are around 800 zombies (those zombies that puke). However, you couldn't use any unit but rangers. I used +2000 rangers to win this mission, I practically painted the whole screen with rangers and I doubt it that it is possible to defeat without cheating.
Not that I'm aware of, but incidentally it has the best anti piracy implementation so far, a version with extreme overkill issues that make the game incredibly hard and unplayable on higher difficulties. That said, I do think 1.0.5 has an anti piracy measure on the first map of the campaign, but it's easy to deal with. The first waves triggered all the zombies on the map to attack.
I there The campaign has some "solo" mission, where your character must obtain some items and escape of the building. If you miss an item then you can't play it again. I don't mind much about it but some items are related with the history (newspaper). Is there are a way to play those missions again?
the level 2 campaigns are a fking pain in the ass to do no stone walls no resources no tech and all you got is a base in the middle of an open field good god dont play nightmare
Yes, 1.0.8 is extremely important but sadly still not out. The overkill bug is an extreemly big issue and makes the game completely unplayable on higher difficulties as you get instantly overrun.
Does anyone have similar problem? "The narrow passage" mission is crashing the game. It's the one after killing 1000 fast infected horde. After loading it crashes to windows instantly, no error message. Loaded from save 3 times. Once, from a "backup save" the game does when it crashes, and it loaded the map for me... kinda. But without Command Centre spawned xD So i have no vision at all, map is black, and no control, just can unpause ^^
Ok so I'm trying to update to 1.0.5 for hours now, trying everything possible and failing I dunno if I'm an idiot or what but somebody please help UwU Edit: Dang I thought that I had it but I'm still stuck at 1.0.0 even after applying 1.0.5 Edit 2: Well I finally did it after all that frustration and wasted time sigh I'd post a detailed guide on how to update to 1.0.5 but I'm just so tired after all that but if somebody asks I'll make one :P
Ok, i reinstalled the game FROM ZERO "0', clean registry, folders, regedit key, and some clean internet cache, and the infected random house, piracy , disappear,.. (REINSTALL THE GAME OFFLINE! IMPORTANT ),.. BUUUUUUUUTTTTT,... when u play another map, the SKILL THREE points... RESET TO 0 again,.. and can't upgrade NOTHING, than the first skill... there is another anti piracy bug,.. to make imposible advance in the game...
Here's how you update to 1.0.5: Copy 2 folders and 3 files from 1.0.0: x64, x86, him.ini, steam_api64.dll, SteamConfig.dat Apply update 1.0.5 Paste 2 folders and 3 files from 1.0.0 Done. Enjoy 1.0.5
So what you likely did wrong is have the previous version of the game cracked on your drive, then you used the updater to update that version but you didnt then reapply the crack from the base game afterwards. so basically you need to install the base game, then the update, then apply the crack(from the base game) as the updater installer uses the same crack but does not come with another copy of the crack. good luck with the horde jon boy.
So the update failed because he already cracked 1.0.0 before cracking 1.0.5? I tried the same thing and I'm still at 1.0.0 after cracking 1.0.5 I would really appreciate it if you explain it from the beginning to end because I've been sitting here trying to figure out this thing god knows how many hours :P
I'm writing via google translator because I'm Brazilian and I do not know how to speak English. I installed the game, downloaded by the torrent link, and in the second mission of the middle of the map in the campaign which I do not remember the name of the map, whenever I start my game closes completely without explanation. I tried to download the update 1.0.5 as a way to try to solve this crashing, but after installing the update the game stopped opening, executing the game steam is opened on the page of purchase of the game, and the game does not start. Does anyone have a solution to any of the two problems?
When you download the update, the update itself does not come with a crack.and you must re-crack it. you must go to the 1.0.0 crack and reapply that one for it to work.
Portuguese translation if this helps.. Quando você faz o download da atualização, a atualização em si não vem com um crack. E você deve refazê-la novamente. você deve ir para o crack 1.0.0 e reaplicar aquele para ele funcionar.
sadly i always die right after 1st zombie attack i always miss the ninja zombies until it's way too late! I hope they patch them one day! Even using a trainer don't help with ninja zombies!
I'm having a problem with They Are Billions İts erroring to me all the time and ı cant fix it, its saying ''Please Check your account has rights to access that folder/ ZXLog.txt''
Lmao, you have the patrol command. Use it. When you go out exploring the moment you find a horde of zombies, stop exploring. find the chokepoint and set a patrol there, 1 ranger is enough to handle walkers. Only focus on expanding on one side only. Dude you can use starcraft tactics in the game and it'll work just fine.
Update on the anti-piracy thing and quick overview of the game: The massive wave on the first map is gone, though be warned that sometimes a big wave spawns and goes through the bridge (which is physically impossible to defend, you can't place anything there), at the same time the main wave comes through from the chokepoint in the north. So if you're a good player who expanded up to there, and you've got your troops fighting the wave and only a secondary contingent around the bridge, you will get FUCKED. I was able to rescue my town, despite the bullshit attack, but then I still failed the mission because an enemy was left somewhere and I didn't have enough time to find it after I finished cleaning the zombies and rebuilding back up to 400 pop (the fight lasted 4 days, and you have 5 after the last wave). Overall, the campaign feels pretty shallow and kind of rushed. It's like playing smaller-scale sessions of the old survival mode, and there's also a really boring mode where you have a single character exploring a big fortress, and the horde missions which I haven't played around with much. The tech tree feels a bit bad, like some of the paths make very little sense. For instance, to get the Wasp automated turret, you have to go through the whole research path of... drum roll... getting a bunch of resources every time your train comes! Makes so much sense! I like the idea behind the train, but I'm starting to loathe how it actually plays into the game. Unless they add pre-placed walls around the tracks in the later maps, it's an unavoidable hole in your defenses that you can only defend by massing bodies and hoping your troops kill all the infected before they chew through them. Awful. The game also still fails to give you good feedback when more than one thing is happening at a time. You can be micro-managing some troops and getting the alert that some of them are being attacked, and completely miss how your entire squad somewhere else was suddenly wiped by a bunch of runners. And just like the one I mentioned above, the game has issues with the win conditions. They're never very interesting and usually a pain in the ass with little problems here and there. Overall, it's fun enough, as the core gameplay of it feels exciting and tense just like when it launched, but it's much more padded out and repetitive, and while there's some good things about the campaign, it's hard to say if they outweigh the negatives.
But I agree on is that the game gets very dull after awhile. The hero missions are interesting as it gives you insight on what happened to the world and they give you old newspapers of how the world plunged into undead chaos. Gameplay-wise it's basically a Where's Waldo mission and I freaking hate it.
You can place gates over the train tracks. Also if you're playing on higher difficulties (higher than accessible) during the horde attack even the zombies from across the bridge will come towards your base. Unless you've cleared them
Yeah, I just discovered that, I don't know how many base building missions in... Fuck me, that's so retarded. At no point in the entire game so far are you ever told "hey, those forbidden tiles around the train tracks do allow you to build gates, haha, good luck finding that out on your own". I've been playing in 100% difficulty so far, so yeah, the whole enchilada came for me through the bridge when I played it.
That's because when the final swarm happens all other zombies on the map attack your base as well, that's why it's important to clear the whole map before then, just remember you can use the Chase mode on your units to find any that you may have missed It's kinda bullshit how there's no proper tutorial to the game that tells you this stuff and you had to know about the mechanics from other sources like streamers or having played the game already in EA
Yeah, I didn't realize the first mission had only a single swarm, even though I should've guessed when I saw how close the swarm date was to the end date. And having played this game since EA, I'm still unsure of how to utilize Chase mode to have your units actually go out and seek enemies, which is usually a separate command in normal strategy games. Chase mode is more like the "aggressive" setting on AoE and stuff like that, where your troops pursue the enemy instead of holding their ground. At least, from what I've seen when I've used it once or twice hahaha. P.S: Lovely name and avatar you got there
Is anyone else having problems with the first mission of the campaign? I cleared the map of zombies and got population of 400. I cleared the one wave of zombies before day 25 with no problems and I still get defeat. Is this an anti-pirate measure? I got the checkmarks for map clear and population but I didn't get the checkmark for resisting all waves even though there was only one wave and I beat it.
Yeah, I had a similar problem, it's just shitty design as I think it was an enemy spawned from the wave that had gotten stuck somewhere and made me fail.
So guys first off can you guys say to me for reals if the anti-piracy is still in this version or not, no saying "I've played a few missions and runs and it's not happening to me" just say yes or no(so other people can make it sure
This is a problem for me atm when buying stuff online and the closest store to buy steam cards and are a few hours trip so its kinda hard to buy it when in Philippines, I'll buy these kind of games if its easy to pay online.
This games requires to backup your savegame because you could screw your game anytime (especially at the end of the round) It's located at C:\Users**your username**\Documents\My Games\They Are Billions However, it says that it generates a backup of game, so you could check this folder and try to recover a backup. For example: mysave_Backup.zxsav rename as mysavel.zxsav
i think this game is cheat than poeple use cheat just lvl 2 city i play 50 day to fight the big wave i not unlock lvl 2 yet and no lvl 2 wall and trap the end is i has to fight 50k zombie first i saw the map has oil i don't care must be not many zombie anyway but wrong fight 4m still come no stop i star lose use 130 sniper. becarefull the lvl 2 map i need to say is i has star new game use cheat point to get to lvl 3 troop
Just want to ask when I extracted the game I use 7 zip not deamon but when I do that it keeps telling There are some data after the end of the payload data what does that mean?
1st mission I had to go with 50% because even normal(100%) is dumb amounts of hard. Second one a zombie randomly sneaked onto one of my barracks and caused a domino effect, then I lost. If there isn't a piracy troll thingy still going on even with the Crack, then this game is extremely unforgiving. If it's the latter then I'd rather watch someone else suffer through rather than praise the devs.
I have the same problem. It is impossible for a zombie to sneak when I have all the stores surrounded by archers patrolling. To others it always little time before approaching the final attack.
i did the first mission in 4 attempts on 100%, and it was pretty easy, clear everyon on the bridge side before 20 then barricade the north side and make ton of archers. setup a ton of layers of walls and its easy
pirates have anti-piracy measures (we have to deal with it until they patch that crap) legit customers however have other problems check the discussions seems they fucked up the campaing after release
you are just noobs, they had an antipiracy thing before but it has been cracked long time ago. You need to watch the map constantly so no zombie sneaks into your base. I played 6 missions yesterday and didnt have any problem
well i was planning to download and see how it is but with those comments about an anti-piracy measure i suppose i will have to wait just wondering what the anti piracy do ingame?
I've been playing the whole time, no problems about it so far. They also spawn a huge horde at the start of the game as an anti piracy thing but I haven't faced any of that yet. My advice, just get the game. Delete all traces of the pirated version.
kind of like a trojan horse i like when developers do this they prove that they dont need to purchase an expensive DRM like certain idiotic AAA companies
I am around 7 missions in the Campaign and had zero trouble with its anti-piracy measures. I have a theory that the people who do are ones who had a previous version of TaB installed and the anti-piracy measure stuck around because y'all didn't do a full complete uninstall of that one. Tell me if I'm getting it wrong. The game DOES have issues though. Launching the 'Narrow Pass' mission crashes the game. This has been fixed with patch 1.0.2 a while ago so I'm just waiting for an upload of the new updates.
I needed to manually install the crack, but after that the game launch to the mainscreen and then just after putting my nick the game crash back to the desktop
No, it's unfair for people that is not a masochist. a) autosave mandatory. b) no manual save (for a strategic game, it is stupid and if you are played strategic game instead of call of duty, then you know that :-P ) c) punish for lost a game. d) requirements too high, even at easy level. e) and the game is under the clock.
sadly this kind of game made for maso people from the start. the goal of the game is to make player suffering and get rekt by zombies in the end. honestly who can guest what numbers of the ultimate horde of zombies when it max out ?!
Not true. You can go across the bridge and kill the zombies. If you do, they won't come. You HAVE to kill them to finish the mission, anyway. But if you haven't by the time you get swarmed, they'll just come to you... across the bridge.
this is the only way, i can play against anti piracy.... aafff.... UPdate: i beat the first misión.. another problem come.. the mission don't finish,.. become infinite..
In my case, the first level requires to have 400 population (your image has only 123). So I filled the map with houses and I barely beat the first damn level because they also need to feed, and it is at the easy level.
They swarm from the bridge cause you don't clear them out on the other side of the bridge. Also you can put a gate at the front of the bridge. as far as I know, the horde comes in from the north entrance.
im playing in the first map of campaing, and randomless a zombie attack is summon on the center of the base.. or another place near the base.. someone have this problem meanwile play the map ?... HELP.
im playing in the first map of campaing, and randomless a zombie attack is summon on the center of the base.. or another place near the base.. i think is that anti piracy shit.. or not..
I haven't had any of those issues tbh. I've been playing up until the Narrow Pass mission and that mission crashes the game when you start it. I'm waiting for the patch for that.
It isn't unfair. It's simply not fun. I used Starcraft tactics to beat the game at max difficulty on map 1 during survival runs. Honestly, I wanted to play the game casually and just chill while playing on challenging. Instead I get stress and flashbacks of stressful starcraft gameplay. Like you gotta play in a specific way as you do in starcraft, or else you're going to die before you even reach halfway on any difficulty. That is simply not fun. There's hardly any creativity. But I do have some good advice at least. Cause you're only allowed to make few mistakes. The 1st thing to rush, always the soldiers center and start spamming rangers. The 2nd thing, expand rapidly by day 13 or 14, kill the zombies fast by micromanaging animation cancel on your rangers until they become vets. only use vets to patrol around your colony. The 3rd thing, you should have to have colonized at least 40-50% of the map after wave 1. If you haven't, you're going to increasingly struggle against the next waves. One way to know if you're doing well is when you have 200 colonists before day 10 (for me). Before wave 1 you need to have at least 15 rangers or 10 soldiers. By wave 2 you need to have at least 30 rangers and 20 soldiers. And so on. Don't think about "Muh FoOD anD ELecTriCty BiLLs" keep them as low as you can when you're reaching the end of the match. A squad (5) of soldiers (non vets) can take on a mini swarm of ~35 runners if they have walls. Without walls they can take on ~20 runners. If you have a surplus of wood, always make walls. And I kinda like to follow the way they make the 3 walls from AOT. CAUSE IT WORKS REEE, you make triangles on a segment of your wall, you put soldiers and maybe a shock turret. You can use this tactic when you're on campaign doing those infected swarms missions where you have to defend the outpost.
yup that what this game is, become more and more unfair till you get totally outnumber and be destroyed in the end. at least that survival mode made for.
You are right for the critique of the game, it had potential but the devs are massive retards. Imagine what we could've got with mods and qol features...
Years ago i played without any issue trought the campaign, unlocked last mission-map, then i "reinstall" and restarted playing without knowing of the "bad news"; now i can't remember the version, i think it was 1.0.10 or 1.0.14, some post declared that 1.0.5 was the last one, i see that is possible to recover many old ones, even from the IGG torrent site.
https://mega.nz/file/csdyCQLS#VdD3-a_PQANfsJy5va9BVED51-GwSGHK_9rqDkKTpUY
Here's how to install.
For everybody, please compleatly describe your process of startuping, playing and loosing your progres in comments, iam trying to understant this problem and solve it,
BECAUSE NO ONE will help us!
So I actualy dont have that issue but i think its just luck....
The only suggestion I found was reinstalling the game, but the problem will occur again.
:(
as i play the game the tech tree begin to reset on its own after i reach a certain level.
it happens when i go through the same level
I got towers, built one, then lost shortly after. I went afk and closed the game, then came back and started a new run. All ma tech tree was erased at the start of the new mission, couldn't build towers or soldiers anymore. More specifically, after completing the mission, all my tech choices were reset to zero but I didn't get my "science points" back, so you are effectively gimped forever.
Haven't tried any further, don't want to lose more time on this.
Same for AoE2/DE, they just ignore all update requests. igg-games is kinda dead, they dont update anything anymore.
igg simply share the cracked games, they are not associated with any of the scene groups. If no one is cracking the games then igg will never have it.
So got anybody leggit site with crack?
now I just need to get the editor to work...
Make sure it is a GoG version or do not download because you will loose your progress
I'm looking for a download with the game up to date with no anti piracy measures...
http://Mega.nz (Work but limited)
And game version and platform?
and it goes to steam
Also, if you create a shortcut of the loader, just rename it to They Are Billions so you wouldn't confuse it with something else. You can also right-click that, go to properties and change the icon (browse the theyarebillions.exe file to get the proper icon).
Low/decent graphics / Building / Management / Survival & Defend
I recently played some base building game but they are just about survival like force of nature or PlanetBase etc. I am really looking for defending kind base building games but not with linear game play.
I really loved PlanetBase & FoN but sad no defensive building is there :(
Judgment: Apocalypse Survival Simulation
Rise to Ruins
Few others not exactly like, but still highly recommended for base building / survival / management:
Frost Punk
Kenshi
Raiders Forsaken Earth
State of Decay 2 Juggernaut Edition
Satisfactory
(╯°□°)╯︵ ( ͜。 ͡ʖ ͜。)
na pasta HOODLUM tem o crack do jogo
please delete the two patches the version of the base game is newer then this patches.
can someone tell me how to fix this ??
i just can play survival mode...or my pc is just kinda potato spec
crashing seconds after defeating the last wave at day 120 on last
mission.......the ultimate troll. Others have posted here about having
this same issue as well... IF this is in fact an anti P move then FUCK
YOU Devs & the people here seriously need to take this game DOWN or
FIX IT!
I want my Pirated games to work.
MOMMIES, DADUMS, THE BAD MEN BROKE MY FREE GAME I DIDN'T PAY FOR,
SUE THEM DADUMS, SUE THE BAD MEN FOR TRIGGERING MY ENTITLEMENT
it look like a anti piracy measure ...
Is this game automatically cracked, or is there no crack yet? It's hard to tell since I don't know if the bug happens because the game knows it's pirated.
When in doubt, upload the file to a live AVS checker and see what other AVS programs have said about it and dig into the file itself and see what actions it creates, what it does and if it tries to "call home" etc..

"UPDATE V1.0.5:" and "UPDATE V1.0.10.16:" is for old versions, do not try even install this crap. if you ask why mods still keep these updates available, you ask a good question :)
the game is different numbering in the form of a file and different in the game menu, so there is a misunderstanding and an attempt to install older versions.
I haven't tested that out, You can try if you want to.

Random infectionand lose mission 2 one time i star cheat upgraded point
and mix all the zombie stop Random infection i don't know why but to
safe i put 6 to 10 wasp gun there to watch
you are only wasting time and effort
even if it is fixed like old updates it might break your save
Random infection at first mission now i lose 2 time in row by it
On the first map of 1.10 a random zombie spawned in NE corner of base. A completely inaccessible spot. So definitely random spawn. Crossroads worked on a save from 1.05 at least. Save wasn't playable because tech got wiped and I had no points.
Both have breaking issues unfortunately.
IDK if they're legit tho
if the game is able to detect that you are using a pirated copy
random infections happen
but there is some lucky fellas who don't get detected
for now i reccomend using 1.0.5
Don't they know that the best defense against a game being stolen is it being free? XDDD?
I hope codex takes a look at this game. They always release good cracks and they update often.
Had zero issues with 1.0.5 for the entire campaign, but then I downloaded 1.0.10 for the extra difficulty mode and got random infections on the very first mission.
Crack Proper (Lootbox/Goldberg) <- i try this , and the problems GONE. on the actual patch.
But also i see the recent post here, by "thank you" user, that have applied the 1.0.5 crack over 1.0.10 , if i can suggest, you can try that before reinstall the repack from other site(the one version i found was an already cracked installation, i have unistalled and copied the save folder, that i backup, to continue campaign) hope you resolve and maybe let other, here on IGG community, know how did it go, retro.
from scratch, being certain that all folder, i mean also all the config and save files in (on win10)>C:\Users"name"\Documents\my games\They Are Billions< ...to me the random infection appear in middle of a campaign save(was also after many hours of play and the 3° or 4° building mission), only after the updated 1.0.10, and after the reinstall i backed up the same save and like it have appear it disappear in middle of gameplay/map...i hope you, and others, can resolve.
I just completed another mission, where I had to get 700 colonists, it took me 38 days ingame time and I did not see any random infections, all worked flawlessly, game is updated with the 2 updates you can download here.
Copy everything in HOODLUM (Crack) into the main game location and it should be fixed.
The game was working fine until the 1.0.5 update but the 1.0.10.16 just destroys it!
I almost at the 80% of the game and I have never installed Steam.
The campaign has some "solo" mission, where your character must obtain some items and escape of the building. If you miss an item then you can't play it again. I don't mind much about it but some items are related with the history (newspaper). Is there are a way to play those missions again?
no stone walls
no resources
no tech
and all you got is a base in the middle of an open field
good god
dont play nightmare
Please :)
I've been playing the game without updating it, was there an anti piracy feature in the patch 1.05?
"The narrow passage" mission is crashing the game. It's the one after killing 1000 fast infected horde.
After loading it crashes to windows instantly, no error message.
Loaded from save 3 times.
Once, from a "backup save" the game does when it crashes, and it loaded the map for me... kinda. But without Command Centre spawned xD So i have no vision at all, map is black, and no control, just can unpause ^^
The most interesting part was them fixing the overkill feature for me also the torture mode lol
Edit: Dang I thought that I had it but I'm still stuck at 1.0.0 even after applying 1.0.5
Edit 2: Well I finally did it after all that frustration and wasted time sigh
I'd post a detailed guide on how to update to 1.0.5 but I'm just so tired after all that but if somebody asks I'll make one :P
Copy 2 folders and 3 files from 1.0.0: x64, x86, him.ini, steam_api64.dll, SteamConfig.dat
Apply update 1.0.5
Paste 2 folders and 3 files from 1.0.0
Done. Enjoy 1.0.5
Nothing I tried worked in setup.exe or am I supposed to do something else?
I would really appreciate it if you explain it from the beginning to end because I've been sitting here trying to figure out this thing god knows how many hours :P
Quando você faz o download da atualização, a atualização em si não vem com um crack. E você deve refazê-la novamente. você deve ir para o crack 1.0.0 e reaplicar aquele para ele funcionar.

My Games>They Are Billions
When you go out exploring the moment you find a horde of zombies, stop exploring. find the chokepoint and set a patrol there, 1 ranger is enough to handle walkers.
Only focus on expanding on one side only. Dude you can use starcraft tactics in the game and it'll work just fine.
The massive wave on the first map is gone, though be warned that sometimes a big wave spawns and goes through the bridge (which is physically impossible to defend, you can't place anything there), at the same time the main wave comes through from the chokepoint in the north.
It's kinda bullshit how there's no proper tutorial to the game that tells you this stuff and you had to know about the mechanics from other sources like streamers or having played the game already in EA
P.S: Lovely name and avatar you got there

But I do have some good advice at least. Cause you're only allowed to make few mistakes.

The 2nd thing, expand rapidly by day 13 or 14, kill the zombies fast by micromanaging animation cancel on your rangers until they become vets. only use vets to patrol around your colony.
