I recently played this game, and changed the resolution to full screen, and the screen went black. Couldn't hear sound. I properly redownload but backup saves anyway and start again.
I went to setup after I download and extract it then I click the "PLAZA" then it open a little box it looks like an installation setup with a music on it is it right?
I downloaded Octopath Traveler then I extracted it. I went to setup, it opened the little box " PLAZA " with the music to install the game. I install. The game is successfully installed. I click to play it and it bring me to steam webpage buy it 60 euros. Why???
Hello, i´m having a similar problem (opening the game takes me to steam site), but the thing is: everytime i try to download (from the megaup net link) it says the file is unknown or damaged. I successfully downloaded from the torrent site, but it doesn´t include that folder from the gif you posted, so maybe i downloaded an older file (?) How can i fix that? Do i need download a crack somewhere i didn´t see?
Hang on, It's supposed to do that after you install the game and run it not after you're done downloading. Did you read the tutorial? Install setup as well as crack folder are found inside the iso
That's bandizip i used to preview the content of the iso, It's another extracting tool like Winrar or 7zip, It has nothing to do with deamon tools, Just the icon looks a bit similar, I understand the confusion.

I have one problem that i don't know how to fix it. The day i downloaded it and installed it i had no problems. I turned off the pc and went to sleep after few hours of playing. The next day when i turned on my pc i couldn't play it anymore. Whenever i tried to open it, it would crash. If someone has the same problem or knows how to fix it, please respond.
Doesn't work. Downloaded Torrent link for CPY and the CPY cracked fix. Mounted, installed, I can't copy paste the fix into the mount drive because it says no space, so I just went to the C drive and paste the fix there. Launched then it ask me cannot launch as I don't have steam API or something. so I downloaded steam. now everytime I launch the game, steam opens and show me to buy the game. LOL how to make it work please? EDIT: It works now! I mounted the original CPY then installed from there. Then I went to directory where I installed which is C:// then I paste the CPY fixed Engine folder. then launch the game tru .exe inside C://
I ran as admin, applied crack fix correctly, used windows 8 compatibility and ran from file instead of shortcut. Still receive UE4 fatal error game will now close. Any tips?
Doesn't work. I tried with the standard torrent and with the crackfix, and it just says "Fatal Error" and quits. Glad I didn't pay the $89.99AUD in the Steam store as there are others there with that problem that had to refund. AIO Cooled Ryzen 9 3900x, 32Gb 3200DDR4, AIO cooled GTX1080.
I downloaded the files through megaup, but when I extract and run it, steam opens and I can't do anything. I can't follow the featured comment because the files are all mixed up. The cracked files all go into the main octopath traveler folder.

if your problem wasn't resolved, their should NOT be a password, you may have downloaded an ad. check the file name and size. if you're sure you downloaded the right file then try to put a blank password.

This works! Confirmed! Do the install and replace the dll's in the original hack per the instructions in the files you downloaded.....then do this hack last which is a patched game executable.

If you have PS4 controller you can use DS4Windows (google it) to bind keys to buttons. For Xbox360 controller you can use joyxoff (https://joyxoff.com/en/) Also... Octopath by itself allows to use controllers... Just use it...
i tried using my controller, i think it's more like a ps one. but the game doesn't recognize it. the controller is well-calibrated and fine with other games. i checked and tried adjusting the game's options but still no luck....

I noticed a lot of people says to enable Virtualization in Bios. I did it a few days ago to try to use Windows Sandbox and Hyper-V , but none of those works. Could it be related that if VMs don't work the game won't work either ?

I apply the crack correctly, run the game form the original application in the folder after setup and application of the crack. Yet I keep getting a "fatal error" as that is the only description. I've tried to run its compatibility on windows 8 and other versions of windows. (7 & vista.) Yet I keep getting the same thing. Just to make sure there wasn't an issue between my anti-virus and the files downloading, I turned it off and yet I still keep getting the "fetal error". I had a problem...one time I was opening this game, the game sets it's resolution to high and so I am okay with it... The second time I launched the game, the resolution was set to high but when I played it, I realised that the resolution had dropped from the first time I was playing it although it has been set to "high"...can anybody help with this issue

You can still make it work with a x360 controller emulator. Search for it, you download the files for your OS and put the in the game's folder, located at your C:// drive, probably.

That's not a solution for everyone. I know how to crack games, and all the tricks to get them to work at this point. This game just does not work for some people without the modified exe file provided in the comments. That should also be stated in this comment in my opinion as this is not a guaranteed fix for anyone having issues getting this game running.
Well, either all the scans are wrong on virus total, or it's a malicious file so new that it can't be detected yet. It comes up clean either way so it's safe enough to me. Not even as much as a false positive.
A couple of users reported bugs and crashes after using it. In my opinion, It's best and safer to wait for CPY to fix their crack instead of tempting your luck, Either way i cannot recommend something i am not 100% sure it comes from a safe source, Better safe than sorry.
Their fix didn't work the first time. I'll personally use what does work. i'd rather play a buggy game than potentially no game at all lol. Besides, I'm not saying you should recommend it, I'm just saying I have done enough with it that I feel it is safe for me to use.

Thos who have Hyper-V or Sandbox for Windows 10 they have to disable Hyper-V to let OT use virtualization without hypervisor. And of course update graphic card driver.

i have enabled virtualization, and also downlaoded the newest crack when i try to launch the game (as seen from gif above) nothing came out i have noticed that when i open the game, it's listed on the task manager apps list, but then it disappears after a while help
running great, just copied crack folder (just "engine" folder actually) to games install folder then ran the UE4 setup (in engine folder, extras). Dell G3 laptop gtx 1050ti w 4GB VRAM, 8GB ram, intel i5 CPU, 1920x1080 borderless window, everything to max, game runs 60fps everywhere and barely uses ANYTHING while running, looks extremely better than the Switch game does especially on framerate (switch game locked to 30fps and everything looks blurry for no reason at all) big thank you to whoever cracked this, worried i'd have to buy a horrible switch later on down the line, this is one less reason, thanks!
i don't even know what hyper-V is so i didn't mess with that i don't have an antivirus besides what win10 has already. windows 10 game works as it should
It's not "no reason" keep in mind that everyone's machines are different and in some cases even enabling virtualization doesn't work and other people don't need it enable for it to run

It works now. It still gives the fatal error on launch sometimes but not all the time. When it has launched and I've been able to get in game, I haven't had any trouble at all from that point. That's golden as far as I'm concerned.
dont start the game off with hunter it makes the game pretty easy. I was level 7, wandered into a level 15 forest and recruited some spear monsters in there and now im breezing thru the game. This game is great tho. Im paying full price for the sequel if there is one.

Well, I'm surprised. It does work fine by following Adam's instructions from the .gif Only issue I've ran into is that it sometimes won't run on the first try, other than that, it works. Seems to be a straight port from the Switch; not even the button headings were changed to account for PS/XBOX controllers.

DS4Windows seems to detect my usb generic controller in Settings Tab --> Control Panel. I can even test the buttons in Game Controller Properties as shown on the screenshot, but nothing appears in the Controllers Tab. It says "NO CONTROLLERS CONNECTED". How did you make yours work?

Its has slow dialogues and filler cutscenes that sometimes leads to nowhere. I've only played the thief for now so I don't know if it applies to all stories. power through all the useless dialogue and see if combat can appeal to you

Working for some, doesnt work for some, need to be fix in for some, need to do something special for some, this and that Whew, it just works for me, have played it for the past 2 days. Only issue i got is sometimes when i launch it, the game doesnt launch, and i have to spam click the game 2-3 times. but other than that, no error or anything.

Mileage may vary on this particular crack. Just because it worked for you but didn't work for him doesn't mean he did anything wrong. I also did everything as per the instructions and get a fatal error on launch. With the original crack as well as the crackfix.
It wouldn't solve it, and CPY does great work on these games. But denying the current crack is less than perfect won't solve anything either. Obviously the crack is problematic in its current state as is evidenced by the massive amount of people who can't run the game.

It seems virtualization is enable by the windows default. So u dont need to change it on bios. In my case, virtualization had been disabling by a games installer automatically (gears 4 repack). Then, i need to re enabling it on bios to run octopath crack
I have tried and fatal error showed even with crackfix. I think i need to re-enable virtualization on bios to run this games. But, i will wait for the proper crack, so i wont change anything. It seems virtualization is turn on by windows default. Since i install cracked win10 exclusive games, virtualization turn off automatically by the installer. If i turn it back on, then win10 exclusive games such as forza or gears 4 wont run. It just my assumption, dont know if it true or not

Haha... I got something stupid here. I tried to run the game using my laptop that doesn't meet the minimum requirement (even below the minimum). I got around 40 - 50 FPS at the main menu (with Very High Preset). But then, when I play the game, I got around 4 - 5 FPS (with Low Preset). I guess I need to upgrade my RAM. (＃￣ω￣)
the engine its all fucked up you need to apply the changes by changing resolutions low makes everything blurry as shit medium-highest makes everything more smooth
Dont even need to go into BIOS just go into Task Manager and under "details" right click and enable virtualization...actually had to do this on a game couple weeks ago to make it work had no clue its usually accessed through BIOS
Well, If it worked for you, fine. Realize, though that it is unlikely to work in all cases. Denuvo uses virtual machine sandboxing, which means that if one's machine is somehow different from what the crack expects when the virtualization layer is formed, things won't go well. I'm not the one saying it, by the way, many people are having problems, all right?
I picked the Dancer, cause 'summoner'. I thought she'll be summoning godly beings but then she can only summon humans. xD i probably just didn't read the whole description xD as my first use of allure/summon, I had the grandma at the save pint before entering the catacombs. She's pretty useful then. Very strong against the monsters inside the catacombs.

Just install the setup, copy the crack to main directory and install the UE4PrereqSetup_x64 (found in Engine\Extras\Redist) and run the game. Everything thing will work fine afterwards. Edit: I used the new link that came with game+crack and not the separate one.
Not sure if a common underlying problem is causing the fatal error but I can just say what worked for me in the hopes that it might work for others too. I went into task manager and saw that malwarebytes was running so I ended the process, as well as a few Adobe processes. I then launched the game as admin from the Octopath_Traveler-Win64-Shipping.exe file. I'm pretty sure it was malwarebytes running in the background that was causing the crash. So check and see if you have any AV running and shut it down. If that doesn't work, try shutting down some other processes that are non-essential. There's a chance something's running on your system that's conflicting with the game. Someone on the CPY forum also suggested running UE4PrereqSetup_x64 located in the game directory and then changing the folder name Octopath_Traveler (located in Documents\My Games) to OctopathTraveler, just taking out the underscore. I'm not sure if this last change affects anything or not but it was one of the things I did and now I'm not getting the fatal error anymore.

Not download at your own risk, more like use at your own risk. but i've played the game for a couple of hours with this and no issues presented themselves so this works for me
The only problem with this modified exe is that zaxrow has deleted several instructions from the file to make it work, but this can make the game crash ... or some ingame things don't work as expected, but no one has reported anything wrong so far use this exe as a temporary solution until CPY release another crackfix or just enable virtualization with the crackfix, both are working

Virtualization on mobo is just a feature used by any emulation program(bluestacks or nox) or virtual machines to communicate directly with the CPU (getting more performance) instead of communicating with the OS and then with the CPU This does not affect your pc at all. btw,i have no idea why cpy crack only works with virtualization on -.-''

So when I try to launch it, I can see the little loading symbol on my mouse, click task manager and it's launching, but then it stops and nothing happens. Tried the new crack and it still doesn't work.
same here tho, the games are lauch at task manager but disapear in any second. But for fix and play it i resolve the problem, what i need is run steam on online mode or offline mode, and the game window appear and can be played. Restart Computer and go into the BIOS by pressing Delete at Asus logo screen
After entering the BIOS go to the Advanced tab at the top and click it
After clicking that you should be inside that tab... Now scroll down until you see CPU Configuration and click on it
After clicking that scroll down till you see 2 options MX Mode and SVM Mode... Enable them both
After you enable them go to the top Exit tab click on it and select Save and Reset the computer will reset itself
And lastly, after the computer booted to your desktop click on the Octopath Traveler Icon and BOOM it should work as it did for me... I hope this real works for you guys
Lucas Oliveira posted a link to a fixed EXE below that actually works. Everything else did nothing for me. I tried it all, replaced the shipping exe and it worked first time....FINALLY. Thank you Lucas, you are a hero.
Same here. That modified .exe file was the only thing that worked. If you're on Win7, you can't get Octopath to run, and you've tried all of the other fixes here, try that. You might need to scroll back a ways in the comments but look for his MEGA link and screenshot, you'll find it. And yes, I had tried the crackfix and virtualization was already enabled in my BIOS. They didn't work. The modified .exe works!

raises hand I do that. I've bought most of the games I've pirated. Keyword: most. If more developers offered demo versions then a lot of us wouldn't resort to piracy. It's no justification, it's stealing either way, but when even early access games are often $60+ I can't afford to shell out big bucks for games that suck or are incomplete. Also, my computer isn't the greatest so it helps to be able to test the game first to make sure I can run it. I'm a thief, no doubt, but I have my reasons!
I suspect that some people here might have kept the original non-working release of Octopath Traveler, which IGG posted a few months ago, and then tried to used the crackfix on it. You have to RE-download the whole game (Octopath.Traveler-CPY), AND then the crackfix as well, it will work.
That's not the issue I can assure you. The CPY release from yesterday, along with the crack fix still produces the fatal error for people. Even with compatibility mode in my case.

wen u copy the crack to the right place it should ask u to overwrite files. If it doesn't ask to overwrite its not in the right place. Also install with admin rights.

No, i install game to my other drive, that folder in "doccuments" is automaticaly created. Two things i tried are enable visualization and copy that folder and its work like a charm !
well we can confirm something its not the OS (win 7 user here) i have opened the game 10 times and theres no errors however i admit something i have tweaked this pc by deleting shitty updates and removing useless garbage like the aero for like 6 years so probably thats why i dont get errors too i even totally altered the menu to look like the oldschool win 98 (that OS was beast before XP and 7)

you need to turn off your computer, and access the bios by turning it on and holding Del or F2 while it turns on,varies from your mobo to how you access bios...
Can confirm. So here are the steps that I took to make the crack work on Windows 7. Step 1: Mount ISO file like normal, and just click on install.exe to install the whole thing. Step 2: Go to D:\Games\Octopath Traveller\OctopathTraveler\Engine\Extras\Redist\en-us. So basically search for and run the file UE4PrereqSetup_x64. Step 3: Go inside the Crack folder, copy all the three crack files, and paste them at D:\Games\Octopath Traveller\Octopath Traveler\Engine\Binaries\ThirdParty\Steamworks\Steamv142\Win64. This should replace the 1 file there with 3 files. Step 4: Go to D:\Games\Octopath Traveller\Octopath Traveler\Octopath_Traveler\Binaries\Win64 and right click on Octopath_Traveler-Win64-Shipping.exe. Select Compatibility, and Click on the checkbox "Run this program in compatibility mode for: " and scroll down and chooses Windows 7. Also check the box below in the same Compatibility page: "Run this program as an administrator to save time." Step 5: Have Steam logged in. Click on Octopath_Traveler-Win64-Shipping.exe and play. Reproducibility: Reproducible by closing and successfully relaunching the game three times. Drawbacks: Start-up is unreliable since it can crash several times in a row before letting you play. Be patient. What to test next: Playing the game without "Crashing to Desktop", or unexpected poor performance. Edit: Tested for nearly an hour with my non-gaming laptop, and it works relatively well. Some steps might not be necessary, so if you can reproduce the results with less steps or greater reliability then please comment down below. Enjoy.
Rukazu,i finnaly get it working,i will tell u step by step what i did 1-Completely unninstall octopath traveler,also delete the octopath folder at Documents/mygames 2-turn off your pc and enable virtualization on your mobo bios 3-restart and install octopath traveler,don't forget to run the setup as administrator 4-Copy the crack to octopath folder,I copied the '' Engine '' folder instead of the 3 files 5-if you changed the octopath traveler executable (both the main folder and the big executable inside win64 folder) Return it to default, uncheck any compatibility options for both exe files 6-go to Engine/Extras and Uninstal the UE4 prerequisites,then install it again, I didn't run this as an administrator 7,finally,I just ran the game from the desktop shortcut, without running as administrator, and it finally opened, I don't know if the problem is with the virtualization itself .... but I prefer to go step by step, I hope you get to run the game <3
Guys, I was able to make it work by activating Virtualization at Mobo, who wants to try it .... if that's the problem, it makes sense because only some people can run without any problems
It would make sense that this would be the issue as to why some can play it and some cannot. I am not going to enable virtualization just to be able to play this game though. I will wait for a crack-fix. When there has to be a workaround to get a crack working right, they always release a fix.
Yes I have tried everything, researched everything. If you got win 7, this does not work. A few said that made it work on win 7, but it could not be replicated on other machines. I will never update to Win 10 damn it ;-)

Guys the game works for me on WIN 10 latest version, nvidia latest driver. No issues I didn't tinker with any settings or options just used exe and game started after applying crack, not running as admin. Going to resume gears 5 from Act 1 Chapter 4, I will start this game after finishing Gears 5.
I run Win7, and it wouldn't work for me. -Then I looked at Compatibility under Properties. I changed it from the Vista default to Win7--and everything works. For me, at least. Good luck, all.

not offense, but it not that great at all especially if you grit your teeth till you finish the whole game. feel like play 8 side story that not connect on each other plus all of them are short and plenty much the same gameplay, quest and holy hell....all of those bosses all do the same thing. feel waste for the graphic and art style.

This is a hit and miss solution that work for me. I made it run in win7, as admin and launch the exe 3 times and it worked. Clearly not a fix but just a rngesus workaround.

There have been easily 50+ attempts. you didn't singlehandedly fix the problem, the crack is partially broken. It is intermittent for some users, glad you're one of them.
The game and crack works great, I just open the game as admin and thats it. If you have a problem with the game may be the problem is your PC or you are a AMD user (The last part is just because, AMD has a litle bit more problems with some cracks for my own experience) My specs: -GTX 1060 -I5 6600k -16 gb ram

This game cost $65 in my region even on sale this game will be a loss to, I bought Gears 5 Ultimate for around $25 and also Greedfall at the same price. 50% Octopath is still pricey while when the other 2 games goes on dist they will be dirt cheap.

It won't work for me and I'm on an AMD gpu. That could have something to do with it. Most of the time it just crashes and doesn't even give me the fatal error.
If anyone is having problems, use the EXE located at: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Octopath Traveler\Octopath_Traveler\Binaries\Win64" it will be called "Octopath_Traveler-Win64-Shipping.exe" to be extra safe, run as admin as well. I had to do this too.

When you install any game by steam, it usually installs all the programs needed for that game to run smoothly (Net Framework, directX, XNA etc ....) In this case I believe that one of these programs is missing to be able to run the game without this Fatal Error
One day you will learn that different people have different CPUs, OS versions, etc which can all impact the viability of exploits and cracks. You'll learn, it's cool.
If i didnt crack it, it would open steam instead. And i tried all the fixes listed in the comments and none of them work. It just sits for about 10 or so seconds and then the error pops up.
Seems like a few people are getting it to run intermittently, and others are having zero success. That's going to make it tough to diagnose because the people with random intermittent running are going to be absolutely convinced that they've solved the problem by lifting their left leg and clicking the mouse with their left hand or something.

Try to execute the .exe, when I start the game from the shortcut happens the same. It is quite weird but it is working, it does take 30 sec to run but it does work.

When you are buying a game, Denuvo's program embedded within, which slows down performance as every single file of the game were encrypted. But I don't think there will be much performance issue on a game like this. I am not saying you shouldn't buy the game...buy it if you wanted to...we want the cracked version so we'll have to wait...I don't think the game will be available anytime soon. Denuvo is extremely difficult to crack. Square Enix uses Denuvo on most of their game.

Not only that but they use extremely high end effects and pixel art, not to mention it's 3D Pixel Art world, it runs on Unreal Engine too. The game is stunning for it's artstyle and the camera flow is beautiful too. I already have the game on my Switch, I'm just waiting for this cause I'm not paying for a game I already own.

Maybe look past the fact that it has pixels and stop assuming that 2d immediately means easier. This game's lighting quality is actually fucking insane and that cost a lot of effort. Additionally, the effects for literally any attack in combat are stunning, not because it has to be but because it can be. Wanted to quickly (just for the hell of it) mention that first I love old school type RPG's. If they kept releasing RPG's with Final Fantasy 6 graphics I would pre-order and purchase every one of them. That being said the pricing for games sporting retro graphics is freaking insane. Only square is so arrogant to charge $60 for an RPG that has graphics from 20 years ago. To put it in perspective they are asking for the same amount of money that Skyrim (probably the best RPG ever made) asked for. That just shows how full of themselves Square-Enix really is.
Personally, I don't think graphics make the game. Gameplay do. But in my opinion, I usually put a price on games that are either annoying to even run or play, performance wise. After TW:Warhammer 1 and 2, alot of these Denuvo games runs poorly in my experience. So I usually put like, 5 dollars on these games, value wise.
Unlocked just means the game isn't locked behind a paywall. You need the Crack to get by Steam now.... Unfortunately nobody has been able to crack it yet.

Just an FYI, every last game that ever existed has had some that said was crap, even the Witcher 3. Watch a few reviews on it. You can get a good idea about a game and whether it's one you'll want to play without having to play it first or buy it first. There are several reviews you can watch of the game on youtube. The best games have a consensus that raises it to the top in spite of its inevitable detractors.

also not trying to sound like a jerk but those are really low specs, if your laptop isn't meeting that, go buy even a super cheap laptop and it should have more than the minimum, i mean come on, i3 CPU? most everything these days is i5 or higher and 4gb vram is pretty much standard now if you're any sort of PC gamer.
When the pc version came out, i remember there was some people in the steam forum claiming the requirements were only very high because of denuvo. with some luck the cracked version will require a lower pc to play it.
That will probably be plenty, unless the game is insanely badly optimized. But as usual they just dump there some medium range stuff as requirements so it would be guaranteed to work on it.
just because it's "pixel art" doesn't mean it won't take resources all the special FX, 3d rendered backgrounds and objects, hell looking at the screenshot here, I see a lot of blur effects, everything has a detailed shadow render, and the lighting effects. then again it is a switch game, and switch is like a modern day potato in specs

What would you call files that have been unlocked then? When you download games on steam they come in files that need to be unlocked. The day of release is typically when they become unlocked and steam open ups and installs the game files. "Fully Unlocked" makes complete sense because of how this stuff works. If you can't tell the difference from Unlocked na Cracked, that is on you not them. Take the time to learn the terminology instead of complaining about the terms the industry uses to give you a literal explanation of the state of the files.
'full unlocked' is computing/scene terminology, meaning that it's all the files unlocked, so you don't need to run an installer to unpack the files (though many crack packs repack the files and use their own installers). Not that the DRM was cracked.
I've been in I.T. for over twenty years, and actually taught myself to crack software in assembly language back in the day. Never heard of it, and quite frankly I believe you're making this up. I have this game, but I don't really like it, henc, I never finished it. Graphics are great, but the idea of all the characters not really interacting with each other as a team really takes me out of the immersion. 8 different stories, and as you fight a battle with one character, a previous character that you finished a chapter in his story just shows up to battle with you. No introductions, no in-depth party interactions, no motivations...they are just there. I'm into RPG more for the story than the tacticle aspects of the battles. Just not my cup of tea.
Absolutely everyone that played this Octopath game and wrote something about it, it was "i disliked it". I can't see one single player saying "the game is more then good". I personally cut my expectations off when i realized what is final fantasy vi remastered and what i see for graphs on octopath. Tell me about time expertise... It's not often Denuvo games get cracked quickly. Exceptions being when they actually forget to put the exe with denuvo in it that is... (like FFXV for example)
From what I saw in a random reddit thread, scenes that were actually the ones cracking denuvo games has been silent for a while now. So expect a long wait for cracks on these games atm.
Read the note on this page: "NOTE This game is using Denuvo, so you need wait for Crack" means you can't install it yet because it is not cracked. The game is here waiting some expert people crack it but nobody knows when it will be cracked, we may need to wait for months. Also, you need to crack the game security to be able to play it for free, this one is particular hard to crack because the security system is called Denuvo, a new way to protect games.
think of like someone's password, you crack the password and then they change it to a more complicated password which means it needs to be cracked all over again.
Just common sense here after some reddit and whatever, but i would aim on the lack of specialized tools to crack it at the moment; Denuvo's updates after a cracked game; and a hell of encryption. Denuvo is kinda new, just need time and motivation to make someone crack it again and again over and over until it gets old, things just escalates.

Some games are harder than others to crack. Not all cases are the same. Look forward to it, look at all the games that they have cracked, the website is full of them, successfully. Even Final Fantasy XV was cracked on 0 days after. Just don't lose yourself on the waiting!!!
For sure Square got some people fired after FFXV. The history is that they launched a Demo without Denuvo on it, and groups used it to bypass the game with Denuvo. They are not making this mistake again, but still, nothing is one hundred percent protected in terms of computer science, just takes time.

Basically any program way to remove the Denuvo protection thing from the game. Or you can remove it partially, just the necessary to make it playable, or you emulate the denuvo thing to make it thinks everything is fine with security and play the game. Who cares if the graphics are "old school"? If its a good game, its a good game. You don't need bleeding edge graphics for a game to be good. In fact, too often game devs will focus too much on the graphics and not enough on the substance. IE a pretty face, but an ugly soul.

Well first never believe in those recommended settings, they always exaggerate them. Second, this game seems to use some really heavy post-processing effects (the lightings for example).
i'll tell you something kids, lets using example with the witcher 3 and nier automata. do you know what game model is ? do you know what poly on a game is ? this game literally just like ps1 game it's required a lower poly count than current gaming systems. The image is an example of the low poly count that could be found with these earlier generation game models and i know what is game sprite i can make it and you cant because you dont have talent with drawing so the game only use low poly for the character unlike with game i play the witcher 3 and nier automata its 3D and didnt have ridicilous spec and i can play those game without problem. As you can tell, those two game has a ton of details that OCTOPATH TRAVELER couldn't have. The amount of polygons for those the witcher and nier can be put into a single model has increased greatly and it's obvious even in the example PlayStation and PlayStation 3 models. There's obviously a huge increase of the available polygon count for an asset. Yes, the game uses 2D sprites, but from what I saw that's the only 2D aspect of the game, everything else is 3D, and it uses A LOT of heavy lighting effects. I just hope we can turn all the fancy stuff off, so I can run it on my Intel HD Graphics in 800x600 :)
as someone whos actually played this game. it is amazing. i see a lot of people in the comments who havnt played it saying its overrated. which its not. its much better than the rpg maker crap we been showered with. this game is a work of art even if it is sprite based.
I played it and it is overrated. The stories are all poorly told because of how the chapters are split with long gaps in-between so its hard to get invested at all. Characters barely interact with each other at all so it's hard to care about them. the battle system gets stale after some time, and the gatekeeping of chapters by level is such an ass excuse to prolong the game longer than it needs to be. As a JRPG fan, I don't think its a bad game but its definitely over-hyped and not as good as people say it is.
Didn't play it but i'm a jrpg enthusiast (played nearly every game of the genre) honestly Square enix dissappointed a lot after FF 10, i have no faith in this game. The each character unique story kinda makes me remind of mana story games. Going to give it a try after it's cracked and say the veredict after that.

Even if the game itself isn't "sent from god" I have a feeling the graphical design may take off and become a big thing for other games. It's a nice mixture of both old and new. I'd love to see some of the older games remastered with the new style.
Eh i think the best style to remake games in 2D would be Arc System Works 2.5D style (used in Guilty Gear and Dragon ball fighterz) that would allow the game to look amazing while keeping the style of maps of old JRPG.

Denuvo is quite effective, there's a lot of game that have stayed uncracked for along time (Hello Forza Horizon?) As someone from a country where computers and games are overpriced due to a poor economy and insane exchange rates that is only becoming a bigger issue that is affecting everything in the country, i simply don't have the means to support developers on the little free time i have, other than providing bug reports and just show support. I believe the majority of pirates are people who can't afford the games, if i ever have spare money i use it for important things that i cannot normally afford. (Veterinary fees, for example) And if you think people doesn't deserve to play games just because they can't afford it, that's a pretty stupid mindset. People who can't afford it, won't buy it no matter how long they have to wait. And people who has money and still refuses to spend it on a game, will most likely just ignore it and do something else. So people always jumps to the conclussion that when a pirated game was downloaded a hundred times, that's a hundred copies lost, and it isn't. Maybe only fifteen ot those would have brought the game if they didn't had a way to pirate it, while the rest would have just ignored it. Look at Undertale, super popular game. pirated by a lot of people, yet it sold around five million copies. Imagine if the game had denuvo and was 25$ instead of 10$. Making your fans pay extra money to cover up for supposed 'pirates' that ruins gaming companies is just dumb. Since people won't buy your game for 30$, you sell it at 60$ with protection so they don't pirate it. Just keep trying to push a wall.

You can tell most reviews are by the developers or paid by someone. A dude literally said: "The game is a bit expensive" And everyone keeps saying the game is just like a old-school jrpg with nice graphics and music with a nice story. So there definetly isn't any kind of 'deep combat system'. Honestly any final fantasy would beat this game in that sense.
Sounds fun, haven't seen a single person make a comment on that yet. I still recommend anyone to get a ps1 emulator and play final fantasy tactics or tactics ogre over this game if you haven't.

The day i downloaded it and installed it i had no problems. I turned off the pc and went to sleep after few hours of playing. The next day when i turned on my pc i couldn't play it anymore. Whenever i tried to open it, it would crash. If someone has the same problem or knows how to fix it, please respond.
EDIT: It works now! I mounted the original CPY then installed from there. Then I went to directory where I installed which is C:// then I paste the CPY fixed Engine folder. then launch the game tru .exe inside C://

Whew, it just works for me, have played it for the past 2 days.
Only issue i got is sometimes when i launch it, the game doesnt launch, and i have to spam click the game 2-3 times. but other than that, no error or anything.
This is how I could play the game without errors.
Pretty sure CPY cracks are just trash because every other cracked game never gave me this much problem, so I will wait to see if it gets a better crack.

In my case, virtualization had been disabling by a games installer automatically (gears 4 repack). Then, i need to re enabling it on bios to run octopath crack
It seems virtualization is turn on by windows default. Since i install cracked win10 exclusive games, virtualization turn off automatically by the installer. If i turn it back on, then win10 exclusive games such as forza or gears 4 wont run. It just my assumption, dont know if it true or not

Realize, though that it is unlikely to work in all cases. Denuvo uses virtual machine sandboxing, which means that if one's machine is somehow different from what the crack expects when the virtualization layer is formed, things won't go well.

Edit: I used the new link that came with game+crack and not the separate one.
I went into task manager and saw that malwarebytes was running so I ended the process, as well as a few Adobe processes. I then launched the game as admin from the Octopath_Traveler-Win64-Shipping.exe file.
I'm pretty sure it was malwarebytes running in the background that was causing the crash. So check and see if you have any AV running and shut it down. If that doesn't work, try shutting down some other processes that are non-essential. There's a chance something's running on your system that's conflicting with the game.
Someone on the CPY forum also suggested running UE4PrereqSetup_x64 located in the game directory and then changing the folder name Octopath_Traveler (located in Documents\My Games) to OctopathTraveler, just taking out the underscore. I'm not sure if this last change affects anything or not but it was one of the things I did and now I'm not getting the fatal error anymore.

If more developers offered demo versions then a lot of us wouldn't resort to piracy.

i have tweaked this pc by deleting shitty updates and removing useless garbage like the aero for like 6 years so probably thats why i dont get errors too
i even totally altered the menu to look like the oldschool win 98 (that OS was beast before XP and 7)
Step 1: Mount ISO file like normal, and just click on install.exe to install the whole thing.
Step 2: Go to D:\Games\Octopath Traveller\OctopathTraveler\Engine\Extras\Redist\en-us. So basically search for and run the file UE4PrereqSetup_x64.
Step 3: Go inside the Crack folder, copy all the three crack files, and paste them at D:\Games\Octopath Traveller\Octopath Traveler\Engine\Binaries\ThirdParty\Steamworks\Steamv142\Win64. This should replace the 1 file there with 3 files.
Step 4: Go to D:\Games\Octopath Traveller\Octopath Traveler\Octopath_Traveler\Binaries\Win64 and right click on Octopath_Traveler-Win64-Shipping.exe. Select Compatibility, and Click on the checkbox "Run this program in compatibility mode for: " and scroll down and chooses Windows 7. Also check the box below in the same Compatibility page: "Run this program as an administrator to save time."
Step 5: Have Steam logged in. Click on Octopath_Traveler-Win64-Shipping.exe and play.
Reproducibility: Reproducible by closing and successfully relaunching the game three times.
Drawbacks: Start-up is unreliable since it can crash several times in a row before letting you play. Be patient.
What to test next: Playing the game without "Crashing to Desktop", or unexpected poor performance. Edit: Tested for nearly an hour with my non-gaming laptop, and it works relatively well.
Some steps might not be necessary, so if you can reproduce the results with less steps or greater reliability then please comment down below.

1-Completely unninstall octopath traveler,also delete the octopath folder at Documents/mygames
2-turn off your pc and enable virtualization on your mobo bios
3-restart and install octopath traveler,don't forget to run the setup as administrator
4-Copy the crack to octopath folder,I copied the '' Engine '' folder instead of the 3 files
5-if you changed the octopath traveler executable (both the main folder and the big executable inside win64 folder) Return it to default, uncheck any compatibility options for both exe files
6-go to Engine/Extras and Uninstal the UE4 prerequisites,then install it again,
I didn't run this as an administrator
7,finally,I just ran the game from the desktop shortcut, without running as administrator, and it finally opened, I don't know if the problem is with the virtualization itself .... but I prefer to go step by step, I hope you get to run the game <3
I was able to make it work by activating Virtualization at Mobo, who wants to try it ....
if that's the problem, it makes sense because only some people can run without any problems

Second, this game seems to use some really heavy post-processing effects (the lightings for example).
do you know what game model is ? do you know what poly on a game is ? this game literally just like ps1 game it's required a lower poly count than current gaming systems. The image is an example of the low poly count that could be found with these earlier generation game models and i know what is game sprite i can make it and you cant because you dont have talent with drawing so the game only use low poly for the character unlike with game i play the witcher 3 and nier automata its 3D and didnt have ridicilous spec and i can play those game without problem. As you can tell, those two game has a ton of details that OCTOPATH TRAVELER couldn't have.
The amount of polygons for those the witcher and nier can be put into a single model has increased greatly and it's obvious even in the example PlayStation and PlayStation 3 models. There's obviously a huge increase of the available polygon count for an asset.

At first glance it seems to be just a straight-forward rpg with multiple endings and a lot of eye candy.
There's a lot of great game without Denuvo, only Steam got cracked on 1st day of release and many people still cheer for the crack and not even think of supporting the dev. All indie games suffered the piracy so hard don't you know it?
Admit it, you guys don't give a fuck about denuvo if it's cheaper or more expensive, it's all about if you can get the game for free want soon or late. Stop the hypocrisy
I believe the majority of pirates are people who can't afford the games, if i ever have spare money i use it for important things that i cannot normally afford. (Veterinary fees, for example)
And if you think people doesn't deserve to play games just because they can't afford it, that's a pretty stupid mindset. People who can't afford it, won't buy it no matter how long they have to wait. And people who has money and still refuses to spend it on a game, will most likely just ignore it and do something else.
So people always jumps to the conclussion that when a pirated game was downloaded a hundred times, that's a hundred copies lost, and it isn't. Maybe only fifteen ot those would have brought the game if they didn't had a way to pirate it, while the rest would have just ignored it.
Look at Undertale, super popular game. pirated by a lot of people, yet it sold around five million copies. Imagine if the game had denuvo and was 25$ instead of 10$.
Making your fans pay extra money to cover up for supposed 'pirates' that ruins gaming companies is just dumb. Since people won't buy your game for 30$, you sell it at 60$ with protection so they don't pirate it. Just keep trying to push a wall.

And everyone keeps saying the game is just like a old-school jrpg with nice graphics and music with a nice story. So there definetly isn't any kind of 'deep combat system'. Honestly any final fantasy would beat this game in that sense.

It depends on if some cracking group is interested on it and on the difficulty. Lately, I see that Denuvo games are taking more than a month (Mortal Kombat 11 has been released 46 days ago and still uncracked) so it could take a while.
