This was a boring read. The interaction between the MC and the heroine (whose name I honestly already forgot) felt really uninspired. At times, it reminded me of the conversations I had with my school councilor back in high school. And sometimes it was just not engaging at all. No chemistry between them. You could replace the MC with another helpful generic male lead and the story wouldn't be any different. Actually, if the guy was a high school student, then this story might've been more interesting. He sure acts like one anyway. The daughter, Tama, is adorable. But, it's like the supporting character became the heroine, while the actual heroine took a backseat, reversing their roles. It also doesn't help that I found both the MC and heroine, and their romance, to be really bland. What finally made me stop reading this, is that after he confesses, she kisses him, then the scene jarringly rushes to the morning after, where they pretend that the confession and kiss never happened. Uhh... what? Yeah, that makes sense. Alt F4. Delete. At that point, it just feels like the story is unnecessarily dragging itself on. Pass! I'd rather re-read Katawa Shoujo for the hundredth time.
Hmm, while it was not as "exciting" as others I found it interesting as a more realistic story under the circumstances. It is exceedingly hard (*impossible) to find a VN with a story with similar setting. I will keep it in mind as reference since it was hard for me before to understand such relationships.
I see. I don't know about using this as reference though. What you see as realistic, I see as predictable. Once I got a good grasp of their personality, I was able to guess everything that they were going to say/do next (except for what happened after the confession, that didn't make sense). As long as you have some common sense and some experience in writing, then you can easily replicate this story. In fact, now that I'm thinking about it, I've read some fanfics with a similar setting. Off the top of my head, one was from Bleach: a story about Ichigo time travelling and taking care of Hisana and Rukia, with him eventually becoming Hisana's husband; another one with Marvel's Loki + F/SN's Medea (or was it Medusa?) and Sakura; another one with Harry Potter + kid Sakura + heroine; pretty sure there are similar fics in the Naruto and Inuyasha fandoms as well. And if you go to goodreads, I'm sure you'll easily find tons of stories with this kind of setting. Tl;dr. There are other mediums to use as reference, it doesn't have to be a VN. So yeah, nothing special from what I can see.
mine is rewrite. Absolutely love it, sadly the anime was a mess. Also no H content. also kamidory alchemy has a special place in my heart since i wnjoyed it sooooo much, but it is a strategic RPG visual novel
Well I'm not really a fan of short vns unless they are exceptionally well written The art is decent but doesn't match the spirte art... :v No voice acting It's just your avg VN (with a large emphasis on eroge)
I don't think the emphasis on the "eroge" part is large, since this also has an all-ages version. But it does seem like the emphasis on "romance" is large.
And yet this looks like a pretty good pure love story, especially since their ages are about the same. It's just a different formula from the norm, but I approve of this.
