I managed to make it work by taking the steam_api.ini from another game (risk of rain, just in case) and the config.ini too, and changed the appid in config.ini to 1055590. Not worth it though, shitty game.
Honestly, I don't care anymore if it's bad or not, it's the principle that counts. I'm still traversing the files, and I feel like I might be able to crack open any game soon thanks to all this. But nothing is working.
