Both antivirus and Malwarebytes report setup.exe as infected, haven't had the same issue with anything else on IGG. Haven't seen "Hoodlum" group elsewhere either, and the torrent link goes to a different website "http://PCGamestorrents.com". This seems fishy, can anyone confirm it works and is clear?
Everything is tested and scanned before being uploaded, this website is virus free. If you get a trojan, it's false positive, like explained http://igg-games.com/virus-trojan.html.
Appreciate the canned response, but I've downloaded several other things from this site and have never had this problem with Codex, Skidrow, Plaza, or any others. However, I've now downloaded a number of Hoodlum's releases in order to test and find that they all ping as infected on several security platforms. This represents something particular about this one group's methods of cracking, and whether that indeed represents "false positives" or legitimate threats notwithstanding, it is worth noting this is a single cracking group's work causing this to happen. As for myself, I'll just abstain from downloading their stuff unless I can get one of their releases into a test environment (or just buy the games as your FAQ helpfully suggests), but as curators of this site's content, I think y'all may want to look into what methods Hoodlum is using and why their work specifically is pinging security software when no one else's is doing the same.
