just finished the main mission but the ghost dlc wont start do i have to do some trick to activate it, i just read some of the comment that you will need to manually save on any tradetown then load it on start menu then you will receive a call, already do this multiple times with no call do i miss something or the dlc is not working for codex? help

my game crashed right after i tried to explode a vehicle. quite rare but once it happened, notification pop up appears immediately which is hillarious.
So like the dlc and stuff activate and i even started the ghost dlc and i have like the settler pistol but...When i push pause and go into projects and weapons, they don't exist. Like the settler pistol I cant upgrade, and all the dlc weapons are not there. I did notice that they ARE there when i first load in a game from a trade hub, but then soon disappear a min later. I did not know if anyone else has this problem and what i did wrong?
for anyone who can't play this game (like game won't start but appear on task manager) just search for dual core fix and download it, then copy to your install folder... because this game won't start at dual core... just try it, it work for me...

I see a lot of posts about the hot fixes being down but I see no link for any hot fixes anywhere. I used the terrormania codex torrent file and I have no dlc even after saving the game and reloading. Do I need the hotfixes before the dlc will work, and if so, where are they?

Go to a trade town, make a new save, and exit the game (not to main menu). When you restart, load the new save through "Load Game". You should get the call. You will have to repeat this process for each DLC mission.

Hmm..but the hotfix installer did ask for the game installation directory which I can choose manually where I installed the game. My guess is the base game has already included with the fix and updates. I tried download other game like Chrono Trigger which they provided separate base game+fix+updates but when I tried to update the game same error occured. I tried to play the base game and it is already updated to the latest version.
I just checked again. They are all still down except perhaps Uptobox which tells me I cannot access the page because I have an American server. I can try my VPN on that link but since it seems the file has been removed from all the other links due to violation agreement I'm looking for that to be down too. Crashes unavoidably shortly into the game. Both the hotfix and update 1 refuse to install with error messages saying the game directory is the wrong directory.
try to run them as admin and run this program in compatibilty mode for: windows 7, worked for me everytime if that does not work download the update and hotfix with a diffrent link
Didn't help. Says there's a bunch of mismatches and that Hotfix1 updater is for "RAGE.2-CODEX" and not my installed game directory. I'm not supposed to be updating the installer am I?

It might be caused by your anti-virus, anti-malware, or security program thinking this is malware or something. Try right-clicking the .rar file and just choose extract here to see if that'll work.
open part 1, not part 2 for the update rar files and you shouldn't have any issues. Other solution: copy http://mega.nz parts into your http://mega.nz account and use megasync to download. Both of these methods worked fine for me just now. I also used IZArc2GO latest version. No trials or ads
U were right! :) Thx, but i have another problem. In first part of "update 1" there was a steup file so i installed part 1, but in second part, there wasn´t any setup exe only the cdx file. Did i missed something?

According to someone from igg's torrent site for RAGE 2 Update 1, you need to apply the Update Hotfix first before the Update 1. Now with that said, Codex updates often have an Update folder that you can open to find Setup(or Setup.exe), open/run this. That program will update the game for you but you have to tell it where you installed RAGE 2 in your computer. Don't forget to click on the checkbox to automatically apply the crack for you. Otherwise, just manually copy-paste the contents of the CODEX folder to where you installed the game and replace the files there.
The story design of this game is TERRIBLE. Not sure if I'm just a super nitpicky bastard... Or if the game really does suck.... I could barely get past the very beginning of the game it was so damned slow and annoying. Edit: thx for the upload, Definitely won't be buying this game.
I rented the game from Redbox for my PS4 and finished the "story" part in about five hours, maybe six. That's only because they literally FORCE you to do side content to progress the story. Otherwise it would have taken about 3-4 hours to complete the story. The gun play is incredibly fun, but I have Doom/Wolfenstein for that.
I think it is nitpicking :S For me the first 20-30 minutes are slow, then I started doing secondary objectives and killing bandits stylishly a la Doom 2016 for 3 straight hours, completely A SINGLE main objective :S So yeah not slow And Philip, why the hell play an open world if it is to rush the story ? You indeed have Doom 2016 if you want something more straightforward. I like both, because I didn't expect going into this to get the same experience. The best similar example I have is Breath of the Wild. You can easily, even without being a pro, finish it in around 10 to 15 hours (less if you're good with the combat system and not even speedrunning) but I spend more than 100 hours in it. I feel like the Doom/Wolf comparison is a very unfair one. It is Doom 2016 open-world, but with a quite interesting open world for once (it's not that often we get those with the generic open-world formula nowadays). Besides Wolfenstein The New Colossus sucked. It was cringey as hell, bordered on SJW territory, and I never saw the end coming (hell the second half of the game was just as bad as Rage 1's second half in the eastern westland and the ending sucked just as much :S)
who are you to criticize how I play a game. When your on a timetable you don't dick around. I certainly have some problems with the way the game is structured, but I didn't say it wasn't fun. Nor do I think the world is as dead as some Youtubers claim it was. That also wasn't my comparison, my comparison was about the gun play...and the gun play is EXACTLY like those two games...given that ID made Doom/Wolfenstein AND designed the gun play for Rage 2. It's open world being more more interesting than other open worlds is open to debate, because it doesn't do anything different...and is almost Mad Max levels of open world (which is also by Avalanche, and also a good game).
I'm not criticizing dude ;) I'm just pointing out why you obviously won't get the best of the experience that way. You're on a timetable ? Fine, then games built like this are probably not for you. But it felt like you were against the sidequesting being a main aspect of it when really it's the best part (and really really feels like BotW). Sure it makes rushing the storyline less interesting, but it's also not what it's made for. I feel like it's criticizing Doom 2016 if you keep using the same 2 weapons during all the game and hide behind cover ;) Actually id had little to no involvement in Machine Games' Wolfenstein games ! I agree that from what I've seen it does look similar to Mad Max but it seems to have much more frequent and interesting random/semi random events and the discovery of activities is very organic. You either stumble upon them or learn from them through a small talk with a NPC that don't actively give quests. And it's in this respect that it's so similar to BotW as opposed to the very mainstream Far Cry formula. Sure most devs are trying to shake things up, but many are not willing to go a bit crazier, which they should. In essence what I mean is that yeah, if you play it like that, it's not interesting, but it's also not fair reviewing/juding it that way. You have all rights rushing it. Especially when you say "The gun play is incredibly fun, but I have Doom/Wolfenstein for that", you imply that its existence is unjustified because of Doom and Wolfenstein, and I disagree with that ;) As an extra bit of advice, I'd say that if you're on such a timetable that you need to rush a side-content-focused experience, you should probably play less games but ones you have much more fun with and spend a bit more time on them. While I'm not on a super strict timetable, it has been tighter for a few years, and I've started adding many more hobbies, so I've personally done this and uninstalled many games after 2-3h because I knew I wasn't enough into them to warrant putting in the time ^^
I play plenty of open world games my man. I certainly don't spend 100's of hours in them, but I still enjoy messing around in them from time to time. I have put a lot of time into Shadow of War, which is an open world game with a campaign/story line that clocks in over 20+ hours. The fact that Rage's CAMPAIGN only takes at most 5 is pretty pathetic really. Hell even Mad Max's campaign was twice that, if not more. Having side activities is one thing, but forcing you to participate in them to progress the story is bad game design in my opinion. I may even still pick Rage 2 up to be honest, but I can tell that Bethesda was counting on their "live events" to carry the game. Those NPCs do in fact actively give you quests. They are dotted all around the trade cities with dialog boxes above their heads, and when you talk to them, it marks/tags a location on the map and makes that quest your active quest. As for my comment on Doom/Wolfenstein, it certainly wasn't worded the way it should have been, and I concede that point to you. It wasn't my intention to disregard Rage 2's "existence", but it is certainly what I did now that I look back on it. For the record...I was only rushed because it was a rental. That's the reason for the time constraint...though even then, I shouldn't have been able to complete the campaign in one sitting.
Does it ? It did create landmarks for me but completing those gave me nothing more than completing them without being told to go there. It feels to me like those NPC are jsut there to point out the side quests. As for the structure, let's agree to disagree as it's clearly a matter of taste. I hate being told where to go and what to do in open worlds (unless it's VERY direct like older 3D Zeldas, for example OoT, but I'd argue it's semi open world, which is another thing entirely IMHO) which is why this formula reall worked for me as I organically progressed within the game (might very well be that once I go see Loosum and Kvasir, they already tell me the next step's ready xD I've just roamed for 6-8 hours and talked only to Marshall). Live events do look fun, but they feel more endgame-y to me than pure content ;) But I can see why this architecture doesn't fit every style and every taste ! No problem, happens to the best of us :) Oh shit now I feel dumb not having realized that ahah !

There's also the fact that Google Drive downloads are one of the fastest, at least a meg a second, often more. Most of the other sites throttle the d/l speed immensely. The more download options that are available, the more likely the game can be downloaded. The fact that I'm being forced to explain that more is better than less is upsetting.

For anyone having a problem after launching the game and it requires validation, exit the game, go into your rage installer folder and click codex-rage.2.iso then go to Codex, copy the rage.exe in there then go to where you installed the rage game and paste it in the directory replacing the current rage.exe and it should work, if still having a problem then sorry but idk what's causing it besides not having that exe in the directory.
Why is it not working for you. All google drive only have 15gb space. So you have to add 3 parts first and download and the delete them and also delete them from trash. Then add another 3 parts to your google drive. Then download again. Or use multiple Google drive. My google drive is unlimited so can save upto 5TB at once so i dont have to remove the files i add but you have to.

yes, what is happening, is that your hard drive, or whatever your storing it on, is formated wrong, if you trying to save the game to your main hard drive, then you out of luck, but if you have something else you can save it to, do that and it should download. for those who want an explanation, then were about to get technical, see, whats going on is, your hard drive is formatted to a format called FAT32. this format only allows you to store so much data, before it will do what Okiff says its doing, so you go into your file explorer, and right click on the drive and hit format, warning do /not/ i repeat, do /not/ do this on the hard drive that has your operating system on it, aka the one your running off of with the windows symbol PS: the reason i know this is bc i've had this happen XD

still no luck for me.. maybe I didn't install the hotfix correctly? I copied all the files in the CODEX folder into the game directory folder then ran the setup.exe from the Update folder.

Step 3 Copy RAGE 2 FILE and copy that in ur Main Game Folder of the RAGE 2 Game and let replace it the old file of the game. Now u can play! If u cant see the folder or files, activate on WIN tht u can see hidden files on ur Computer.
You should be able to run it just fine albeit on med/high settings. I think either your installation was botched or you're missing the crack. I would just reinstall and make sure you tick the box "Copy contents of CODEX directory to installdir".

Yes, the same goes for me too. For me it's the car horns and other weird sounds that keeps looping and APC vocal problems. The hotfix doesn't fix it. It's annoying but the only solution is save the game and load the game saves. But after awhile the issue keeps coming back. The only solution is to wait for a new patch.

i5 could be 2-4-6-8 core. i5 is just the number of the generation. If you got everything to play the game, everything up to date and still not working, you are unlucky, pray to the devs to fix the problem.
While that's true that i5 doesn't indicate anything about the number of cores, the i5 7400 Cry_wolf says they have is in fact specifically a quad core chip.

Next time read about cracking games before you download game something from here! There is a CODEX folder in the mounted ISO.Copy everything from there into the game folder!
Mostly ISO or zip files are here.If ISO, there is crack folder.But if there is update, don't crack it from iso, install updates and use that crack just like now. But sometimes some games just in zip files, that u have to just extract somewhere and play(with latest winrar!).

Download strictly direct. The torrents can add leeches that connect to you. They don;t care so much that you download it, it they care more that it's being redistributed with your help. VPN's don't really do dick to stop them from leeching on.
I know about "downloads", i use to be one of the top uploaders on the pirate bay years years ago , along with limewire and Kazaa. Don't need VPN, just have to be careful. Dude.The ISO has just 1 exe file in the crack folder.FORGET IT!!!!!!!! Install the game(don't copy that exe!!!!), install the update, and copy that 6 files that is with the update and stop wondering.

Guys, I'm having a screen flickering issue at 4K 60Hz. My game is running at 4K on a 4K 60Hz monitor, so everything should be fine, but the screen goes black in a flicker at 4k res, but at 1440p it's fine. Could anyone help ? Thanks

Updated drivers updated g fource installed game added crack then installed the hotfix add that crack and still nothing. It open the steam store sometimes but still won't play game :(

Still nothing happens when I try to start it from the desktop. It shows up in my gefource experience if I hit play threw there then it just opens up steam. My anti is off has been off for a while due to it trashing useful files.

Yes i have those. Directx and redist is all up to date, but my version of Nvidia driver. It just a few number away from new but i'm gonna download is anyway because it mention RAGE 2. Current version is 430.39 and newest is 430.64 lol

Well, the problem being addressed is that dual cores won't run the game, so IF they decided to release a fix for the dual core issue and it still doesn't work, then it's something else.

theres a fix for google drive.. save the file to your googe drive, then click make a copy, then download the copied file.. easy takes just a few secs.. u can do that all the time
i was rockin an athlon ii x4 640 up until november last year when i found some people hard on drugs wanting to trade a brand new stolen computer that had a r5 2400g a 1050 2gb and 8 gb 2666 ram, i got it for like 300 bucks....i took the cpu out traded the ram and some other stuff for a 1060 6gb version amp gpu. traded something else for 2 8gb sticks of 2400mhz team vulcan ram oc to 3200 stable, then got a mb from msi and a case from vivo mb and case off amazon. i have a total off 500 bucks in my pc which normally for the build i have would run around 1000 u.s.d. my point is you dont need money to upgrade your pc, you may have to sacrifice something you love to better yourself in the long run but it took me from november until march to get my computer fully built, started with the stolen hp pavilion 690 0013w from the drug heads. to the beauty i have now so keep grinding man, im not working at all atm and still hustle so dont give up fuck what jean said and his mommy daddy money.
Just to point out something, alot of people use dual cores in 2019, the more up to date intel dual cores though. But the guy lives in Brazil, might want to keep that in mind. If he lived in the USA, he could buy a cpu for 17 dollars, 6 core like i did.

if your on win 7 use this to mount the iso https://igg-games.com/daemon-tools-pro-advanced-5300359-final.html if windows 10 just extract ALL parts (highlight all parts and right click with 7 zip installed and hit extract files) when its done double click to mount when it opens it should play some music that your gonna hate the first 5 seconds then somehow you cant turn it off....if you get to that point, then make SURE YOU HIT COPY contents directly to installer on the drive you choose for some reason mine always chooses drive letter d when i dont have a d drive so make sure you install it somewhere you have space for and one last thing, dont delete the downloads UNTIL YOUR GAME LOADS AND PLAYS! but about that far cry new dawn...that shouldnt be there...i think you downloaded the wrong stuff bud....i suggest using XDM extreme download manager.....

I bought this game and it is really good but my heart sank as soon as I saw it cracked yesterday lol. I logged into CW and it said 0 minutes since cracked so it was taunting me. I guess it will be worth having the purchased copy if they decide to patch out any annoyances or make the game better plus you get the DLC. This is Avalanche though who completely wrecked Just Cause 4 so I am not holding my breath. Anyways, game is very good if there is any doubt if its worth playing. Best shooter since Doom and wicked fun driving and very violent. Super satisfying to get stronger. GOTY so far!

NOPE! Many times game needs different method for crackin it/makin it work... and it will read in .nfo and ppl askin wtf it dont work when it all reads there.... THAT was my point.
99% of the time (including this game) the crack is applied the exact same way and the instructions in the .nfo are exactly the same. Even less needed with CODEX releases since their installer will literally apply the crack for you.. If you want to read the .nfo you can spend a while 3 seconds to look it up online and read it (Most scene releases on this site actually do include the .nfo on the .ISO anyway unless it's a pre-cracked install). Aside from the name and description of the game it's exactly the same as every other CODEX .nfo and has the same instructions for applying the crack as this page does. It's not like .nfos include troubleshooting sections or anything and most of the problems people are having, like usual, don't actually have anything to do with the crack to begin with.

You probably have a dual core CPU ? If so don't bother : the game won't launch on dual cores (at least untill a patch is released - like they did for Assassin's Creed)

I got it to work and confirmed what was causing it not to run. (If your game loads and is stuck at Launch try this) My problem was the audio driver Nahimic i exited the app and boom game launched and loaded perfectly. So if you have any audio launchers try disable them and try if it works for you too. Enjoy
Did you copy the crack etc.. Mine was stuck when you open the game no loading etc.. when i disabled the audio Enhancer which mine is the Nahimic the game ran perfectly.

Game is a generic shooter nothing special. You will get bored after few missions as you almost do the same things. Missions are boring and uninspired the story is forgetable and only certain combat mechanics are good. This ends up as a repetitive mess

the reason those games rules are mostly because they have tons of mods which keep them alive for like forever take a example of doom 2 that game its 26 years old and the community are active as fuck
If by "exactly the same" you meant you point and shoot then you are right. But the dynamics of old skool fps and new skool are really really different. Old skool FPS prize resource management (ammo, health) as much as your reflex. Old skool FPS has more enemy throw more of them at you at once. The enemies fire projectiles that you can dodge instead of hitscanning weapons you can only hide from. Old skool FPS forces you to use enemy behaviour against them (bait them into small corridor, bait them into grouping up) so you can use less amount of bullets (preferably from a shotgun/grenade or rocket) to wipe out the most amounts of enemies possible. Old skool FPS have tons of different enemies mixing and matching together, force you to change your approach every now and then. Old skool FPS have much bigger level with much more diverse layout. Old skool FPS typically dont waste level space (no driving, running through empty area just to "look good" or to be "cinematic") Old skool FPS want you to explore every nooks and cranny of a level to fill yourself up on resources because only a small number of enemies drop items. New FPS? Most enemies drop items. 2-3 enemies will fill you up. There isnt many enemies at once and if they are, they are trash zombies/rifleman with some actually dangerous one mixed in. They all look the same and behave the same. Or they behave slightly differently BUT never enough to change your play style. You can fill your ammos with chest, shops, or an ability. Enemies cant even hurt each other so dont even try. You either have a limited amount of weapons or each weapons can fulfill multipler roles so you can basically spam it the whole game or the enemies are designed as weak shit who will die easily from any sources. Your health fills up by itself, or you can push a button to fill it, or you can kill enemies, who die easily to anything i might add, to gain it. The level design is boring: small, simple layout, linear with some arena filled with chest high walls sprinkled in or big and empty with randomised enemies. You dont have to explore, dont have to run out of your comfort zone (aka cover) unless the objective force you to. The difficulty of them, as such, come from bloated health, unavodable damage (hitscan enemies), objective that forces you to play how the game isnt designed for, cheap failure state...
i see tho i used all the things you mentioned for new fps games in old ones i was never paying attention on ammo and usually spamed same weapon if it was posible switching only when out of ammo. only difference is the limited health and enemys dodgable attacks other then that i dont think that theyr maps have better layout or that there is waste of space in both old or new fps games, unless you count openworld ones in which case both waste space
Also i went back and try playing doom 2 on ultra violence without mods and try spamming the "best" weapons until it run out of bullets. I suffer double the damage i would normally receive because enemies have really differnt TTK unlike modern shooter and the weapons dont deal remotely the same DPS at the same range. And Doom 2 forces you into encounters at many different ranges. There are enemies and situation where you cant spam certain weapons like pain elemental/lost souls in a small room, spamming rocket launcher there is asking for an early funeral. There are enemies that will eat through your health raw if you dont switch to shotgun/chaingun and kill them right away like shotgunman, chaingunman. There are enemies that eat bullets and plasma for breakfast like pinky, caco, baron, knight... At around the "dead simple" level (lvl 7), i was desperately trying to find bullets for certain guns otherwise i'm forced into close range with big beefy demons who can deal large amount of damage. The game doesnt have jumping so unlike doom 2016 you cant just jump up and negate all damage.
You can spam one weapons in easier difficulty, this is true for any games. Thing is newer games are DESIGNED to spam: you have only 2-3 weapons, ammos are everywhere, enemies die easily... The only way they make you switch weapons/loadout is to force you into a sniper section/turret section... If you dont spam in newer games, you are playing them wrong. If you spam in old FPS, you waste more bullets than you should. Old maps have better layout, that's just obvious. They mix wider arena with smaller hallways while new game will lock you in one of the two until you reach new area/finish the objective. Old map is designed like MULTIPLE map on each level and let you and the enemies run around them freely (when they are activated that is). Newer maps? You dont even need a map screen in newer game as they are all linear shooting gallery. There are also really wild crazy maps like a map full of explosive, a map with the shape of a hand, a train map full of secret and locked doors... One thing old school games have is surprise and secrets in their map, which is tricky and contain supplies for gameplay, not just pointless collectibles. There are much less waste space in old game just for one reason only: they dont try to be cinematic. No sequences that force you to walk and listen to exposition, no non combat area where you go around do menial task. The only way you cant regcognise those differences is willful ignorance.
Respect for old school gaming, but I'd wager I'm close to or perhaps even older than you, and couldn't disagree more, unless we're comparing the original games to the modern day versions solely on a nostalgia factor. EDIT: On second thought, I'll give you the Duke Nukem one, but that's the exception, not the rule. Duke Nukem Forever was abysmal.

Just want to make sure people are aware of this. It was said further down on this page, I know. But, I want to make sure people don't miss it.: DO NOT download this if you have a Dual-Core CPU. It will NOT run. That may get patched eventually like Assassin's Creed Odyssey did. It's just a few lines of code and can easily be patched. I have Mortal Kombat 11 and it runs fine on my dual core Pentium G4560 that came out in 2017. But, don't hold your breath waiting on this one to be patched like that because 1. Bethesda lost a lot of reputation due to the Fallout 76 fiasco, and 2. The interest for this game is nowhere near the interest there was for AC Odyssey. So, IF it ever gets patched to be compatible, it will be far down the road.

Nope. It has the same flags in the code that AC Odyssey did when it was first released. After MANY people complained, they released a patch which removed the restrictions in the code and AC Odyssey runs fine on older hardware like mine.

Well, I just wish I had read down the page to see it first. But, live and learn. I don't think there's enough interest in this game for them to patch it. Oh well. Mortal Kombat 11 just came out and my system has no problem running it. So, this is Bethesda being lazy like Ubisoft were when they released AC Odyssey. I wonder if these publishers/devs have secret deals with hardware manufacturers to put these flags in. Most of these games will run on dual-core CPUs - Mortal Kombat and AC Odyssey prove that. So, having those flags in the code doesn't make sense unless there is some kind of incentive in forcing people to needlessly upgrade. There are many people who are more than happy playing their games in 1080p or even 900p. It's the game, not the graphics. So, I say whatever. It was a learning experience to read the comments BEFORE downloading. And, I'm not heartbroken about not being able to play this. From what people are saying, Bethesda have gotten lazy and these games coming out from them lately are piles of crap which are just the same old code with only a couple tweaks. So, if Rage 1 could run on my system - and they're using the same engine, Rage 2 should work just as well.

Apparently it wasn't Denuvo's fault. Bethesda uploaded .exe file of the game without DRM on their own launcher while on Steam they uploaded the right version with protection.
I have a Pentium G4560 and a GTX 1050. I have Mortal Kombat 11 and it runs just fine. Only a couple games wouldn't start with it - but, those were patched by the developers because people demanded they fix the code - which they did. The G4560 was just released in 2017.
I'm yet to play Rage 2, but from the other 2, I'd say Odyssey is far more boring. It isn't even much of a game tbh. Exodus has has really clunky combat, probably intentionally, but it was more suited to Metro Last Light, which was a game with a more narrow map design. Porting those system to an open world environment doesn't really feel good. The gameplay is slow and repetitive. However, you can still play Exodus based on the story and dialogue which is worth sticking with the sub-par fps mechanics for. Can't say the same for ACO. It's a literal snoozefest.
Obvious troll, but I'll reply anyway. Personally, I think Assassins Creed Odyssey is the most boring one. Metro Exodus has excellent immersion and the gunplay in Rage 2 negates the boringness and repetitiveness of the story. For some reason Assassins Creed Odyssey really didn't sit well with me, I just found it to be straight up grindy and repetitive as hell. "Accept quest, hit enemy to deplete health bar, turn in quest, repeat".
I know you're trolling but Assassin's Creed Odyssey is in the conversation for best game ever made, among the greats like your precious Final Fantasys, Marios, and Metroids. Easily one of the best games ever made, easy, not even an argument.
They are all open world games, I think. I am actually playing AC, but after about 40-50 hours I was wondering if there are other similar games more focused and less grindy/boring.
Yup I don't really like AC Odyssey too because of the grindy system. I would suggest you the Yakuza series. Less grindy compared to AC and I prefer Yakuza over AC.
I liked Metro's story and gun play. AC:Odyssey's game play became tedious for me after the 55 hr mark (currently at 80 hrs). However, it was fun though. And from what I've seen from Rage 2 I don't think I will go past 30 hours. I think it'll get boring pretty soon. If you want an open world with lots of shooting, driving around and exploring to do then get Rage 2, if you want an open world with lots of sword play, archery, stealth action and ship battles, plus a damn good character customization then AC:O all the way. I already played Odyssey and I missed shooting a lot. I had a good time playing it though. Exodus has an amazing story and graphics with variety of different gun. Its a linear campaign though.
I played the first Rage and I quitted after about 5 hours in the game due to the mindless shooting, although the setting was almost interesting. In this moment I am playing AC Odyssey and I feel exactly like you have described.

When you have to extract something(doesn't matter how many part!!!!!!!!!!!!!!),just right click on any part, and extract.This will "put" the files together.
You downloaded update 1 part1 and part2.Right click, extract.You'll have update and crack folder after that, update folder has the update setup, crack folder has the files that you have to copy-paste into game folder.
The stupidity or being arrogant?
Now with that said, Codex updates often have an Update folder that you can open to find Setup(or Setup.exe), open/run this. That program will update the game for you but you have to tell it where you installed RAGE 2 in your computer.
Don't forget to click on the checkbox to automatically apply the crack for you. Otherwise, just manually copy-paste the contents of the CODEX folder to where you installed the game and replace the files there.

And Philip, why the hell play an open world if it is to rush the story ? You indeed have Doom 2016 if you want something more straightforward. I like both, because I didn't expect going into this to get the same experience. The best similar example I have is Breath of the Wild. You can easily, even without being a pro, finish it in around 10 to 15 hours (less if you're good with the combat system and not even speedrunning) but I spend more than 100 hours in it. I feel like the Doom/Wolf comparison is a very unfair one. It is Doom 2016 open-world, but with a quite interesting open world for once (it's not that often we get those with the generic open-world formula nowadays).
Besides Wolfenstein The New Colossus sucked. It was cringey as hell, bordered on SJW territory, and I never saw the end coming (hell the second half of the game was just as bad as Rage 1's second half in the eastern westland and the ending sucked just as much :S)
Actually id had little to no involvement in Machine Games' Wolfenstein games ! I agree that from what I've seen it does look similar to Mad Max but it seems to have much more frequent and interesting random/semi random events and the discovery of activities is very organic. You either stumble upon them or learn from them through a small talk with a NPC that don't actively give quests. And it's in this respect that it's so similar to BotW as opposed to the very mainstream Far Cry formula. Sure most devs are trying to shake things up, but many are not willing to go a bit crazier, which they should.
In essence what I mean is that yeah, if you play it like that, it's not interesting, but it's also not fair reviewing/juding it that way. You have all rights rushing it. Especially when you say "The gun play is incredibly fun, but I have Doom/Wolfenstein for that", you imply that its existence is unjustified because of Doom and Wolfenstein, and I disagree with that ;)
As an extra bit of advice, I'd say that if you're on such a timetable that you need to rush a side-content-focused experience, you should probably play less games but ones you have much more fun with and spend a bit more time on them. While I'm not on a super strict timetable, it has been tighter for a few years, and I've started adding many more hobbies, so I've personally done this and uninstalled many games after 2-3h because I knew I wasn't enough into them to warrant putting in the time ^^
As for my comment on Doom/Wolfenstein, it certainly wasn't worded the way it should have been, and I concede that point to you. It wasn't my intention to disregard Rage 2's "existence", but it is certainly what I did now that I look back on it.
For the record...I was only rushed because it was a rental. That's the reason for the time constraint...though even then, I shouldn't have been able to complete the campaign in one sitting.

for information I have a Intel (R) Core (TM) 3.50 GHz i7-3770k but I do not know if it's a dual core or not
All google drive only have 15gb space. So you have to add 3 parts first and download and the delete them and also delete them from trash. Then add another 3 parts to your google drive. Then download again. Or use multiple Google drive. My google drive is unlimited so can save upto 5TB at once so i dont have to remove the files i add but you have to.

V1 = start of the game, unlocks BFG and skins.
V2 = after the first two missions, unlocks BFG, skins and "Cult of the Death God" mission.

The RAGE 2 deluxe edition and/or pre-order content can be found in the following places:
Cult of the Death God will unlock shortly after completing Blackout and leaving the area.
The Settler Pistol and Nicholas Raine’s armor are obtained during the Cult of the Death God mission.
The
BFG-9000 is obtained once leaving Vineland after The Ranger, and
driving towards the fork in the road to the right. A meteor containing
the BFG-9000 will crash and the player can pick it up.
The Monster Truck skin and Battle Standard will be available in the Garage menu once it is unlocked at the end of The Ranger.
The cheats and progress booster will be available in the cheats menu (under settings).

If you want to read the .nfo you can spend a while 3 seconds to look it up online and read it (Most scene releases on this site actually do include the .nfo on the .ISO anyway unless it's a pre-cracked install). Aside from the name and description of the game it's exactly the same as every other CODEX .nfo and has the same instructions for applying the crack as this page does. It's not like .nfos include troubleshooting sections or anything and most of the problems people are having, like usual, don't actually have anything to do with the crack to begin with.

But the dynamics of old skool fps and new skool are really really different.
Old skool FPS prize resource management (ammo, health) as much as your reflex. Old skool FPS has more enemy throw more of them at you at once. The enemies fire projectiles that you can dodge instead of hitscanning weapons you can only hide from. Old skool FPS forces you to use enemy behaviour against them (bait them into small corridor, bait them into grouping up) so you can use less amount of bullets (preferably from a shotgun/grenade or rocket) to wipe out the most amounts of enemies possible. Old skool FPS have tons of different enemies mixing and matching together, force you to change your approach every now and then. Old skool FPS have much bigger level with much more diverse layout. Old skool FPS typically dont waste level space (no driving, running through empty area just to "look good" or to be "cinematic") Old skool FPS want you to explore every nooks and cranny of a level to fill yourself up on resources because only a small number of enemies drop items.
New FPS? Most enemies drop items. 2-3 enemies will fill you up. There isnt many enemies at once and if they are, they are trash zombies/rifleman with some actually dangerous one mixed in. They all look the same and behave the same. Or they behave slightly differently BUT never enough to change your play style. You can fill your ammos with chest, shops, or an ability. Enemies cant even hurt each other so dont even try. You either have a limited amount of weapons or each weapons can fulfill multipler roles so you can basically spam it the whole game or the enemies are designed as weak shit who will die easily from any sources. Your health fills up by itself, or you can push a button to fill it, or you can kill enemies, who die easily to anything i might add, to gain it. The level design is boring: small, simple layout, linear with some arena filled with chest high walls sprinkled in or big and empty with randomised enemies. You dont have to explore, dont have to run out of your comfort zone (aka cover) unless the objective force you to. The difficulty of them, as such, come from bloated health, unavodable damage (hitscan enemies), objective that forces you to play how the game isnt designed for, cheap failure state...
only difference is the limited health and enemys dodgable attacks other then that i dont think that theyr maps have better layout or that there is waste of space in both old or new fps games, unless you count openworld ones in which case both waste space

Old maps have better layout, that's just obvious. They mix wider arena with smaller hallways while new game will lock you in one of the two until you reach new area/finish the objective. Old map is designed like MULTIPLE map on each level and let you and the enemies run around them freely (when they are activated that is). Newer maps? You dont even need a map screen in newer game as they are all linear shooting gallery. There are also really wild crazy maps like a map full of explosive, a map with the shape of a hand, a train map full of secret and locked doors... One thing old school games have is surprise and secrets in their map, which is tricky and contain supplies for gameplay, not just pointless collectibles.
There are much less waste space in old game just for one reason only: they dont try to be cinematic. No sequences that force you to walk and listen to exposition, no non combat area where you go around do menial task.
The only way you cant regcognise those differences is willful ignorance.
EDIT: On second thought, I'll give you the Duke Nukem one, but that's the exception, not the rule. Duke Nukem Forever was abysmal.
DO NOT download this if you have a Dual-Core CPU. It will NOT run.
That may get patched eventually like Assassin's Creed Odyssey did. It's just a few lines of code and can easily be patched. I have Mortal Kombat 11 and it runs fine on my dual core Pentium G4560 that came out in 2017. But, don't hold your breath waiting on this one to be patched like that because 1. Bethesda lost a lot of reputation due to the Fallout 76 fiasco, and 2. The interest for this game is nowhere near the interest there was for AC Odyssey.
So, IF it ever gets patched to be compatible, it will be far down the road.

I wonder if these publishers/devs have secret deals with hardware manufacturers to put these flags in. Most of these games will run on dual-core CPUs - Mortal Kombat and AC Odyssey prove that. So, having those flags in the code doesn't make sense unless there is some kind of incentive in forcing people to needlessly upgrade. There are many people who are more than happy playing their games in 1080p or even 900p. It's the game, not the graphics.
So, I say whatever. It was a learning experience to read the comments BEFORE downloading. And, I'm not heartbroken about not being able to play this. From what people are saying, Bethesda have gotten lazy and these games coming out from them lately are piles of crap which are just the same old code with only a couple tweaks. So, if Rage 1 could run on my system - and they're using the same engine, Rage 2 should work just as well.
