the game worked the first time i installed it, closed it then opened it again now it says it has stopped working, i installed all the files in redist, any help?

Man, this game sure is garbage probably the worst of 2019 by far. Shitty graphic, every time I playit I end up with a nasty headache. Shitty controls with no remap option. Shitty story that make no fucking sense. Shitty AI and some annoying bugs. Shitty gameplay with every second of it having a stupid cutscene. Shitty map UI with no way to search for anyplace. What a pile of garbage, I get now why it's exclusive on a platform with no reviews.
The next update for the game is adding map icons for places which is desperately needed. Took me forever just to find the veterinary when I needed to find it. The game accomplishes what it set out to and that is to parody Grand Theft Auto 5/Vice City with a 16-bit vibe. It's not without fault though. It does get extremely repetitive, and the combat isn't stellar. I will agree that the ability to remap the controls would be very nice, but I adjusted quickly. Worst game of 2019? Far from it. But everyone is entitled to their own opinion I guess. I liked all the pop culture references and nods in Retro City Rampage along with all the unlockables and stuff, but I liked the aspect of buying businesses and what-not in Shakedown: Hawaii.

If it isn't, I also don't play the pirated version any further. I've played a pirated version of Blood for years, since you couldn't buy this game in my country. As soon as "Fresh Supply" popped up with the original as a bonus on GoG, I've dropped the illegal version as fast as possible and finally bought the game. So yeah, stop assuming the wrong things you moron. ^^

Really fun game now that I've had some time with it. And I just love the graphics so much. Reminds me of when I used to play on the SNES. I think I'll buy it for my Switch. $20 is a bit much, though.. I hope the developer will add some more content down the road.
If someone gets to the point where you have to buy a coffee shop to continue in properly cracked version (Should cost like 30,000 to buy), can you upload your savegame? It's called rtsave0.rsv probably and you can find it in %appdata%\ShakedownHawaii For bonus points, do all the shakedowns as well before you upload save. Thanks in advance :D
The problem is/was that when you get to the coffee shop mission it is impossible to make enough money to progress the story further, and even if you do manage to get enough money it won't let you purchase the coffee shops. Aside from that the game works as intended, just that extra wall of anti-piracy puts a roadblock early on in the story.
A launcher just needs one funktion: Make the game playable. Everything else is unneeded fluff that's available everywhere on the internet (Reviews, a Forum).

I don't really blame vblank. Besides getting more profit in Epic when compared to Steam, they also get a load of exclusivity money. I hate Epic, the way they are going about competing with Steam, and their policies, but I can't blame the game developers for wanting more money, especially smaller, indie companies.

I agree with that, but just put yourself in the shoes of these devs; your game might sell a lot and make enough money to pay everyone in the company and maybe start to fund the next game or games. Or, you can have immediately a ton of cash to secure payments to all employees, and still, maybe sell enough(or lots of) copies of the game, to keep the company running. I dunno, I think that if I ran a well-established company as famous for being great to its community (like CD Projekt Red) I would refuse any Epic exclusivity deals, but in a case like this? Sure, give me that fixed amount of cash that I know I can use to keep the company going, instead of betting on the game selling well right in the first month. Anyhoo, Epic sucks so much, right now.

I wouldn't go that far... if you work in a game company, a small one, wouldn't you like to get a paycheck at the end of the month, instead of having to wait for the money to trickle from Steam, not being sure if it will be enough to have a job on the next month, for the next game,etc? Most small/medium companies that go broke and have to close, either don't pay their workers, pays them less than what they should, or don't pay at all. If things were as simple as you say, no one would take the deal, unless they didn't care for or trust their own product and/or are greedy assholes who don't care about the future of their own company(there might be some, like Deepsilver, but even then, Metro Exodus seems to have done well). Like I said, Epic is being scummy AF, but Steam isn't exactly a shining beacon of righteousness. They cater to the public, yes, they care(or act like it) for their costumers. But they screw hard on developers, especially indie. Yeah, the only way i got far into the game was by using Cheat Engine but i think i hit a dead end because the "Kaupe Cola" guy keeps calling me and said something about "Straw based bail-out" and then the player character said something about his blood sugar or something and that was it. Ive tried shaking down more stores and stuff but it just repeats the same dialouge so i guess im oofed

Yes, the P2P crack leaves in layers of anti-piracy stopping progression. Apparently Unleashed have released a crack, we will have to see if their's fares any better.
