Right. But that's not the issue. EA or Ubisoft can have their games exclusively to their platform because they produced them. However, Epic does what Microsoft did with Rise of the Tomb Raider and buys exclusivity rights for a period of time. And thats a big no-no in PC gaming.
No, actually Sony does pay developers a sh*t ton of money to have exclusivity. Or what do you really think that From Software wanted to cut costs with Bloodbone by not porting it to PC? Pffft. Bloodborne, God of War 4 and so on, I would have loved to play them on PC. But I will never buy a PS4, even if I have to do it out of spite. At lest Epic Store doesn't demand absolute exclusivity, as those games can still be on consoles.
I didn't misread you. Exclusivity means "only sold on a platform because of a contract", not because the deveoper or publisher decided to sold the game only Steam or http://Itch.io.
That's exactly the thing, Epic Store's aren't even exclusive, they are on the other platforms as well. But as someone that doesn't like consoles and especially PS4, I will never be able to play those games. So why again I should join the herd mad at Epic Store, instead of giving Sony the cold shoulder for being greedy?
Because, well, all of Epic's "exclusives" have been yoinked out from the noses of the rest of the PC community. It sets a precedent that blatant anti-consumer practices are okay, if you have enough money. Examples: Metro Exodus: Was originally planned AND marketed for Steam, and they were switched to exclusive so fast that the physical releases had the STEAM logo on them, not epic! The Outer Worlds: Was originally planned AND marketed for Steam, the announcement trailer had the Steam logo in it! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MGLTgt0EEqc Rocket League: Has been available on Steam for years, Epic buys it, whaddya know, all future sales will be unavailable on Steam! WTF? The thing is, Epic is stepping on everyone's toes by doing this. It's anti-consumer, It's so obvious that they are trying to force you into using their platform by buying up games, many times last-minute, which were promised for Steam. It's scummy.
For Metro Exodus, yeah its pretty shitty what they do, its a last minute changes, but I'm mostly blaming it on Deep Silver, and its still planned and marketed on Steam. The Outer World also still planned and marketed on Steam. I don't know about Rocket League, but if we take the argument of the people who against Epic, but ok with Sony, etc, its their first party product, they can do whatever they want with their stuff (even though I only agrees partially with this argument). So the thing is, its only a timed exclusive, its not a real exclusive, they still planned and marketed for Steam, but it just a little longer to release there.
Dude, wiser people like us doesn't belong in this planet, like Sony can do whatever they want with their games, but PC devs can't? why is that? people don't care even though they are force to buy an overpriced, weaker, and locked version of PC, while they mad because they have to download another software that's going to support the devs a lot, and am I supposed to be mad at Steam because they have games that aren't in Epic Games Store now? and Epic Games Store exclusives aren't even a real exclusives, its a timed exclusive, just wait a bit, it will pop up at steam eventually.
i was expecting something similar to bioshock not a damn walking storytelling simulator -_- well to the pits of hell with you and moving for the next epic store exclusive which i am diabolically waiting to download it https://media.giphy.com/media/5nFShZWwq3fdm/giphy.gif
Finally starting learning animation and follow my dreams naaaah Playing a walking simulator instead because you finished every other game you were playing NOW THATS HOT
It's like Firewatch meets Bioshock. If you like good story told through observing the environment(like Everybody's Gone To The Rapture) but hates doing all the action scenes you can download it. It's basically a walking simulator, think of it as playing an interactive movie. The story is hella good though, I really recommend you try it :D
Blockbuster as in one that is notably expensive, effective or successful. A hit. (I just don't want to call it a AAA title) OT: Not really. There are several games on the Epic Store that are available on other platforms, either on PC or console. The only thing that Epic did was put money so the game can't be sold on Steam alone, not because they actually help to develop or publish the game. Which is bullshit.
Sony: tons of exclusives, no other platform will ever see them. Nobody bats an eye. Epic store: "exclusive" in the same way Origin and http://Battle.net , but it's way smaller. Everybody loses they fuc*ing minds.
I kinda like Epic Store. They got free games for all every 2 weeks. I've got Subnautica, Slime Rancher, Transistor, and What Remains of Edith Finch to name the few. All free and legal. I mean I'm not so above downloading stuff free from here when I have to, but getting free legal games is always a nice welcome. I think the one's free right now is World of Goo and the next one's gonna be Stories Untold.
That's not the problem and you know it. Exclusive on console means first-party support, either for a blockbuster title or with Sony's support. Exclusivity on the Epic store only means "not in Steam because fuck them and the consumer"
Oh boy, I've been years on Steam, and they have a pretty nasty dark patterns, my friend lost his account and ask me to help him, and we haven't yet to know how to reply to their email because it's a noreply mail, like "fuck you, and your account, its mine now". But maybe Epic has a worse costumer care than that, I don't know, not really using it.
both have a very shitty service but what you prefer steam who gives you a middle finger or epic store who gives you a middle finger, tell you go to fuck yourself and take your personal info without your knowledge
Epic store games. I boycott their games after since they got rid of Paragon in favor of Crappy fortnite. When i say i boycott, i mean i don't buy their games, i download them MUHAHAHAHAH . This game looks pretty cool though, thanks.
Oh cool a new game lets go see what reviews there are, oh Epic store! Nice. Good to know I have to rely on critic reviews for any Epic store product, and most of them have been pretty bad with the exception of Satisfactory. Will they continue to shovel crap like this on EGS and just rely on 1 hit a year like BL 3? Probably.

Metro Exodus: Was originally planned AND marketed for Steam, and they were switched to exclusive so fast that the physical releases had the STEAM logo on them, not epic!
