i installed the game and then downloaded 1.3 update, but after that it doesnt work anymore. it says i doesnt vind nvtt.dll fmod.dll fmodstudio.dll and nakama-cpp.dll. anyone know how i fix that
That error means those files are missing. It sounds to me that your files were corrupted during the download and either the game or the update (or both) weren't installed correctly. Redownload the game and all of the updates and install them as normal.
Since its a paradox game there should be a mod file in Documents/Paradox Interactive/Imperator Rome file (if there is none just create one). You can download steam mods using this: http://steamworkshop.download/download/view/1353264294 In the launcher there should be a mod panel with a moding tool in it. With the moding tool create anything (it doesnt matter) . Now in your mod file there should be the mod that you created and its empty so put here the downloaded file. Restart the launcher if its not there you fucked up something... If its not working unrar the downloaded file. I didnt download the game yet but in every other paradox game you do it this way. I kinda forget to tell that you should always check if youre really launched the mod, its easy to forget and leads to lot of confusion why isnt it working, you can do so by clicking one time on the mod in the launcher, there should be an indicator if the mod is selected but i cant tell what it is cuz its different in each game...
you prbl solved by now but for newcomers first install located in the imperator/launcher into a different folder for me c/games/paradox launcher if it still doesnt work then copy the launcher-setting.json into that folder and lastly edit it with notepad++ or similar,the important thing here is gamedatapath just replace with your actual imperator document folder
Problem is with PC graphics drivers not with game, so you have to make changes with your PC graphics options, not in game options. I have(downloaded) amd catalyst control center , so I changed it there.
i finally found fix for game freezing on loading screen. in graphics settings switch your game launcher in to power saving mod, hope it helps... it works for 1.3.1 version.
I have a problem too. The game (1.3) always crash after the second play. I manage to enter the game after I install the game. But the second play will always crash. To fix that, i have to delete everything in c:\my document\Paradox... then reinstall it.
Found the issue. When you change your shadow quality to off it starts to crash. Also in documents you can only delete the settings.txt to make it work again.
Yeah if you just delete the documents folder game will work fine without reinstalling. I tested out what breaks it and it only crash on 2nd play if you change your graphics options.
Same thing here, tried installing each update from 1.0.1 to 1.3.0 but the installer kept getting errors, couldn't install 1.1.0 because of this error: game\dlc\dlc001_dde\sound\banks\http://MUSIC_DDE.bank Hash sum mismatch! Those crashing in 1.2.0 path are probably because 1.1.0 is required in orden to install 1.2.0 (see codex nfo) install in this order: 1.0.0 (base game) 1.1.0 (path) 1.2.0 (path) And it works fine minor versions doesnt need to be installed (ej 1.0.1, 1.0.2...)

Yeah, on the 1.2.0 version, when you start a new save, the game shows the Paradox Crash Reporter window while 'generating world from history' and then closes itself.

For those who have problems with saved games prior to version 1.1.0, delete the Epirus Flavor Pack, Hellenistic World Flavour Pack and Wallpapers+Artbook from the saved game file located in &USERPROFILE% \Documents\Paradox Interactive\Imperator\save games and leave it blank like this: enabled_dlcs={} then start the game in version 1.03 and you can continue your saved games.

Every time I've downloaded the game it tells me it can't be run because I am missing three files, specifically pops_api.dll,fmod64.dll, and fmodstudio64.dll. It's not an option, I checked it out and there are a massive amount of female barbarian leaders for the various European tribes. This just has no historical basis at all, and actually the only writing we have from the time is the Romans. They said that women in those tribes were subservient to the men. FIX FOR NOVEMBER CRASH When in main menu hit the ~ key then type Th then hit tab it should show a command then hit 4 and enter this should fix the problem. Should work. it worked for me. If anything i tried
Don't worry too much, since then Paradox has gotten more into the mind of 'let's launch a game that has its defects, but lets fix them over time through patches and endless DLCs'. If you try the game in an year or so, it should be alright at least.

Try checking that the clips or screws that hold your heatsink and cooler down aren't lose or didn't pop off. You might have to remove the heatsink, clean it out completely (including the thermal compound), reapply fresh thermal compound and reseat it.

With Paradox games, you play as the leader of a nation, with all its micromanagement while leaving the battles to your generals. In Total War series, the entire focus is on war. With Paradox grand strategy games, it's possible to win the game without going on offensive war at all. With total war games, it's all about war. So if you're comparing Paradox's grand strategy to Total War's tactical strategy, you're comparing apples to oranges. Grand strategy genre scratches the itch of people who want to play as a king, a prime minister or a president and not a general. There are plenty of other games where you play as a general.

sometimes , in the games folder , you can find a "_commonredist" folder , in there , you ll find update of directx and visual c++. if you do this 2 update it ll maybe work

Well the first day sales are the most important. After release a game reaches peak sales, so you usually would protect it. But that comes at the cost of reduced performance in many cases and some people simply dont care about it.

It's clear paradox has a progressive social justice agenda, if you've checked out any of their recent practices. They're banning people for even asking about why there are so many female leaders.

There are plenty games with animated battles. Go to those and leave the really good games to the people of culture.
The game mechanics is basically nothing compared to ck2 & eu4 (not even modded with superior overhauls). Paradox could've learned from meiou & taxes modders on the effects of population, religion, and communication. Instead, they created this shitty click-button board game.
this game its so fucked up
and i could try it sure but for few days only untill i beat it, while i still have tw rome 1 and play custom battles from time to time,
you know like xcom is praised by everyone but its turn based and i am more for real time battles thats the only thing that i dont like here other then that this looks great
no DRM so no crack needed and multi is working
With Paradox grand strategy games, it's possible to win the game without going on offensive war at all. With total war games, it's all about war. So if you're comparing Paradox's grand strategy to Total War's tactical strategy, you're comparing apples to oranges. Grand strategy genre scratches the itch of people who want to play as a king, a prime minister or a president and not a general. There are plenty of other games where you play as a general.
