I am confused. When I wanted to download the main game, the file that I downloaded was named "DRIFTLAND.THE.MAGIC.REVIVAL.V1.2.1.RAR". So I thought that if this is V1.2.1., then I don't need the updates from V1.0.2 to V1.2.0. I thought that I need only update V1.2.8. But that updage ended in error. I think you are good with only the main v1.2.1 as last working version, i use that and also to me the 1.2.8 update tell the same error. I have encouter a couple of cracked-updates not working properly in the last months...i think with the thousands of title of our days, makin some confusion is normal; our benefactors like IGG and Plaza are overworked! ^_^
in your installed game folder, go in "Engine\Binaries\ThirdParty\Steamworks\Steamv139\Win64", edit the "steam_api.ini" file to change the "Language = english" line and then replace the language.
could someone please update this and re-release it as a fully updated pack, the updates only partially work for me. as in some work, but when one fails, it deletes everything.
I noticed error messages from the first update execution, then i read the plaza.nfo and see "This release is standalone and updated to v1.1.17", so i install only the 1.1.24 and the 1.1.25 (and in fact the base vers have the "Big Dragon" added to the install folder name/directory, so like the 24 and 25 updates) the installations works with no errors and lauched the game fine. Hope it helps.
This is so weird. Yesterday it said it needed a cd to start. Then it started anyways and it was fine. Today it crashes when I start it. Don't know why or how to fix it. Update: I deleted the "Saved" folder in Appdata/Local/Driftland. Didn't work. Added the crack again. Worked after that. Not sure if only adding the crack again made it work or if deleting the save also is needed. Think this means I always have to add the crack before I play now.
Was it mentioned that you need to install unreal engine? If so, you can just download unreal engine 4 from epic's website. If this game requires you to have it, you should be able to play the game regardless of where you install the UE4 engine.
It's an interesting RTS game, and I'll admit it's quite fun to literally put your empire together. Controlling your units is a bit tough, since you place objectives for them rather than manually controlling them, and they seem to like swarming, even when it's complete overkill for the job.
