This game has had a number of patches the last patch that the devs released was version 1.3.2 in June. This version that igg has is from January 3rd of 2020. I guess cause game is dead they saw no point. This game could have been decent had they finished the game! The game had good reviews until the devs decided to rob everyone and just quit making the game. They took the money and ran! I think devs need to do better like the only way their game gets to be seen and released on steam is if the devs promise to finish their game and if not, they have to have a pool of money if they fail at finishing the game, they end up having to pay a fine of 100K or 1 million depending on how big the game was.
The community at large needs to hold these devs accountable to stop so many scam artists from making millions of dollars knowing they will never make a game. Look at kingdoms of eleryia that guy got $8 million and the only thing he put out was a terrible obstacle course any dev can make in a day or so.
I'm sure that money is hidden away in offshore accounts. When all his legal problems finally fade away. It's going to be time! and daddy gonna get paid! Makin money! By the time this fool gets to his money it will probably be almost double! I put away 200k and was able to live on the interest alone so 8 million? yeah! He's set, If he doesn't go hog wild and blow all the money. Then this man of eleryia is set for life! Hi make sure the path of the patch(update) is the same path where you extract the game. When the path is correct it should say "Valid version detected! Ready to Patch!" and you need to have 100+gb space on your hard drive to do this. I have the same errors when i did it but when i extract again to my different hard drive the error was fix and the patch takes from 14 to 18 minutes. If the patch stop (stuck) it means done.
I've solved the issue by not moving my extracted files to another harddrive. it just remains where i extracted it and patched it there. The fix you mentioned does not work with me as it does say valid version etc. but at the end the error come out. thank you anyways 😁
the game won't save for me... every time i load the game i have to start over at character creation... anyone that can help? (or well it won't load a save anyway, i look in content folder and find .osf files (what searching has said is the games save files) [Edit] i seemed to have fixed it, there was a log file, i deleted it and now it seems to work. (edited instead of deleted post so if anyone else has the problem they can try this too) the file is located at Outlaws of the Old West\WindowsServer\Outlaws\Saved\Logs. if you have the problem just delete any log files there and it should work

This new patch is just bad! I have clicked every file in the game and it just says it can't find the game or wrong version. When i spend more than an hour trying to get something to work it's just bad! 1st patch is 43mb and takes over a half an hour to patch? This is a 1st time ive ever seen this. Can we get a good working patch? Looks like something isn't right with it, I think this is a great game! Can't wait for the final release! I just hope they don't release any more patch's like this again! UGH!

Again i am trying to get the newest updates (v1.2.7) and im being overlooked again....i will keep trying but if i cant get an answer soon i might stop trying......
i tried using the telescope the one with 3 legs and once i started looking thru it there is no way to get out of it! I was stuck like that and ended up alt tabing out of the game. Anyone else run into this bug? I've been searching all over i have not found a single town yet I'm building mine but no people have come yet, i even used the mail to ask if guards,blacksmith, gunsmith, and the rest but nothing! I was hoping to make a big working western town but i don't see that i see one person in a big town he built himself with the help of his two horse's it's fun but the bug's and being alone is getting boring after a while
I haven't used the telescope, so i couldn't say....as for the game i only play single player mode and the only other people in the game are the bandits and the travelling merchants for right now....No towns, people, etc. but the devs are working on adding more merchants, NPC's, and content to the game so maybe in the future they will add in other AI characters and maybe add a town or two....this is still in development so we just have to wait on the devs to figure it all out.... :) Cheers
omg!!!! I didn't know death was final! I just got to the point where i could make wood planks then 3 men from the skull death gang came and shot me dead all i had was bow and arrows after i died the game locks up so basically i had to shut the game and start totally over i don't know if it is just me or this is how the game is either way 3 hours lost! I tried to play a new game and game freezes my whole computer now so this is one bug that def needs to be fixed!!! Anyway the Game is a lot of fun and it works great unlike that horribly broken crap of a game on steam called: new frontier they promise players the world and when you get on they cram any and every kind of pay option they could think of! They want you to pay before you even play for the 1st time and at 1st the game is great as soon as you level up your horse loses it's full stamina so you can't fight monsters or other players who have the full stamina any upgrade points don't do anything it only worked a while ago so if your grandfathered in your character can pretty much take on 12 players alone as i witnessed after that i looked for a new western game i'm so glad igg games got this! I just wish death wasn't so final! Especially after you build your character up for a few hours and having to watch some sneeky ai gang instantly surround and kill your character out of the blue being totally outgunned with no way to make it even unless you have a team of your own but even then bow and arrows vs. 6 shooter pistols ugh! but i guess that is also what makes it fun too! good luck! and thanks igg-games!
Also, just a side note....i found that if you find a location with "Bandits" that seem to spawn or be there often, take your "Log Mallet" and build a simple 3x3 foundation and put up "Half Walls" around it to use as protection from the bandits you can defeat them easier even with a bow and arrow as they can not shoot you through the walls but you can shoot them over the top of the walls.... ;) just an fyi ..... this also works for large aggressive animals, bears, bison, etc ..... enjoy
if you die, it is not permanent, you will respawn and then you can go to where your "Dead Body" is located and "Loot" it to get your items back...if you open the map after respawn there should be a red X marking where you died last....go there and get your items from your dead self.....then just continue, you keep your level and all stats, skills previously obtained before dying.....hope this helps you out :) cheers
Side Note .....After testing this new update, i have noticed that the game seems more buggy/laggy than before but still very playable, also if anyone gets game crash or 'Fatal Error' crash, right click on the Outlaws of the Old West desktop icon, go to "Compatibility" and select "Run as Administrator" that should help.....also Delete the old saved files in your C:\Users\Username\AppData\local\Outlaws and delete the "Outlaws" folder then restart the game.....Overall this is a great update....Can't wait to see what's next :) ..... NOTE ..... Since this is a new "re-pack" and not just an "update" you WILL have to start a new game, since this version is a cracked "re-pack", there is no way to continue from your last saved game with new re-packs, if it was just an "update" then continuing from your last save could be possible but not guarunteed.... there are ways to make your own server, i am not completely sure how (google should help) , or you can find hosts that you have to pay a monthly fee for.....As for this version since it is cracked and not run thru steam it is a little more challenging to make a server but i think some players have found a way.....
this game is still in "Early Access" and the devs are constantly adding in new stuff every week or 2 weeks, and they plan on expanding the map so be patient, they just might get it in there.....I like to think of the "Big Lake" at 10.17-10.18 as a smaller version of a "Grand Canyon" like it would of been back in those days as it was forming :P
UPDATE: I have just requested for Update Patch 1.2.4 which will include all previous DLC/Patches from 1.2.1 and up.....hopefully IGG will get it this time, if not i will keep trying till it gets updated.....Getting a little frustrated that it's not getting updated now, and before i had 3 updates back to back.....Fingers Crossed!!!
You can't, you have to start over because of how the game loads/saves....if it was just an update you could resume from last save, but with new repack you have to start over because the game loads/saves within the main game folder and only saves config files to external folder.....sorry, it sucks i know but it's how it works, at least for now.....cheers :)

make sure your system specs are above the minimum required to play this game, also mine takes some time to load at times, just give it a minute....if it won't load at all your computer might not fully support the game....also make sure you have the best/current drivers for all hardware, Microsoft Visual C ++, Microsoft .NET Framework, Java, etc. hope this helps :) cheers

mine works just fine, the only bugs i have are, my animal traps disappear if i restart my game, and ghost bodies left in the traps after a kill (which was fixed in update 1.2.1) .... what bugs are you having?
They say the game has been updated to 1.1.8 but there was a later update (the latest) called the Livestock Update on My 28th that added a lot of content to the game. They had to reboot the online servers to make the changes live, but the update doesn't have a number like 1.1.8 it's just called The Livestock Update. - What do we do to get this new content into the game? I don't know if we can request such an update.. will this be part of the single player game?
Some odd reason it’s not working I downloaded it I start it and it just Keep saying loading What do I do with the server thing that pops up do I allow do I not allow
lag out the wen yang, all the horses disappeared from the map and never came back. building any building part quit placing and destroying until you left the game and returned, the mallet to build wooden structures quit responding all together with right mouse click and randomly started placing sloped railing every time you tried to use the mallet.
Go to C/Users/yourname/appdata/local/outlaws/saved/config/WindowsNoEditor, and delete input.ini. Start your game and set mouse sensitivity to 0.30 or whatever you like. It should be solved now, do not rebind keys or you will have to do it with every restart. (you have to set mouse sensitivity every time you start the game, it will be at 0 again)
Having played this game on steam I can say that this game is promising. But that's all it is right now. It's buggy and severely lacking in content but its got a big open world with landscapes that are quite nice to look at. It is also receiving frequent updates. Hopefully it will eventually become a fully fleshed out game that gives a good frontier life simulation experience. Right now most people won't get much out of it in its current state but if you are a big fan of the frontier life stories then maybe you will still get something out of it.
After update 1.0.8 if you engage the bandits, the game crashes. There's update 1.0.9 today, but Idt they even had that issue reported to them yet... I'll see after I apply the 1.0.9 patch. That said, the scenery is good enough, that I can use landmarks instead of the map to navigate around which is very immersive, and the building my homestead and crafting is enough to easily waste a day. Idk y, IGGy isn't putting up the updates after requests on their request thread. But I still find IGGGAMES awesome sauce.
asking for update for this game is like teaching your new rock a trick, several people put update request in the game request section including myself and several request here on this page were posted and all i can say is this is all the game here will ever be version 1.0.0 and never updated.
i turned my antivirus of then disabled the internet then unpacked the game found the .exe and ran it as admin and the game started working, i got it working on 2 desktop PC's a 6 core ( pretty good ) and an 8 core ( excellent )

If you're at v1.0.0 then yes you need to update from 1.0.2 to latest one. but beware everytime you update it, your saved game/character will be gone! It is best to backup your save file before applying any update
I actually can't find where the game is saving itself...and when I apply the updates from another source, it maintains the player character so far...! I thought it was saving in ~/Appdata/local/Outlaws/Saves, but there's also another one in the ~/Outlaws of the old West/ directory too...I think that one has all the stuff you've built with the install of the game...
Yes, this is what I did to run and save single player, one- run as admin, two- in settings select auto detect,(down the list), then three- you have to lay down a sleeping bag or bed to spawn! Now it still takes a lot I MEAN A LOT of waiting to load, but I'm playing now!
Well single player in this game is nothing more than multi player server being ran locally... Anyway if you exit game through menus (go back to main and the exit to desktop), it will save on exit. I got over 15h in this, guilt the whole little village so far and haven't lost progress a single time. If you quit the game by alt+f4 or any other means the game server keeps running until you kill the process and it also wont save your progress...
your plea of an update has fallen on death ears, they don't care that it doesn't work as long as people keep downloading the broken game it's fine with them
Clearly you do not use IGG-Games very much, if you did then you would know the process. 1: IGG does not own every game. 2: finding and contacting the source and getting the files takes time. 3: cracking it. 4: uploading it to multiple file hosting sites. 5: updating the web page for said game. 7: IGG does this every 3 days in large batches. 6: IGG does this in his spare time, so quit your bitching on playing free games. 7: Make requests in the request section every day till the request is responded to or filled. 8: All in all it can take more then a week on average to update a game.

so after hours of fighting to download nearly 17 GB worth of game now i chose the single player and greeted to a never ending loading screen of different screen shots, is this all there is or is it just stuck here in the perpetual screen shot loop. and there is a new patch 1.0.2 that might fix this problem.

Sometimes there are server hosts ran by Pirates that allow people with cracked copy to play together. Thats why sometimes Online Games got posted here. Plus, those games are mostly donated ones, so figures they just might as well post it.

There's discord exclusive games, even they are cracked and has online fix that runs through discord servers. Even though games are cracked, they work online.
