Anyone know how to get mods working? I download from one of the alternative workshop downloaders, and put the folder in the \AppData\Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Mods folder, start new game in experimental mode with scripting enabled, enable the mods, and it always results in a critical error.
u dont install it in the mods folder,u need to find a tutoriac for this game and install the library, after that u will get the folders in witch the mods work
For anyone who are interested in unlocking armor skins: I can't find any methods on the Internet so I decide to crack it myself. It turns out that actually Space engineer isn't that hard to crack. I actually have the game on Steam, so I only test it on my legal game. I am not sure if this method applies to the igg version.
Replace the Steam\steamapps\common\SpaceEngineers\Bin64\Sandbox.Game.dll
If you find "Sandbox.Game" folder under C:\Windows\assembly\NativeImages_v4.0.XXXX_64, delete it. Its like cache or something. It prevents the system from loading the new dll.
You are done. This also unlocks the DLC block for people who don't want to spend a bunch of money for some meaningless decorative blocks. But I highly recommend you to buy a main game because this is a great game. Anyway, enjoy yourself!
Just found a way how to enable using block skins also for the pirated version!
download and install "Paint Gun – realistic painting for survival + special creative features" mod, avaible on https://catalogue.smods.ru/archives/98445 since steam workshop downloader is down. And its depency Text HUD API, if you already dont have it. Installation is by putting the mod folders into: C:\Users\your_name\AppData\Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Mods
2)In your game directory, find file "ArmorModifiers" open it, and delete all lines with "DLC something DLC" (and arrows from both sides of the world DLC, which i cant write here) Save that file.
3)Unfornaturely, this is not enough, now copy that file and insert it into the paint gun mod folder/Data
4)Open game, activate theese two mods in some world, and use the paint gun mod according the steam description. The skins WILL NOT be avaible through vanilla painting tool, only through that paint gun hand tool.
If someome manages to find a more convenient way (by manipulating the ArmorModifiers directly in the game somehow maybe???), please tell us!
Edit: Oops: seems like its not presrerving the skin when copying/blueprinting... strange
also to quickly remove the 18 or so lines containing the word "DLC" in the ArmorModifier file, use notepad++ mark function

I'm seeing the skin blocks in the skin folder in Content/Textures/Models/Cube/Armor/Skins/ But I'm not seeing any skins when i want to paint.... Any way to add it or activate it?
Hi guys, I've just downloaded v1.200.027, but I have a problem. When I open the P menu in-game, the coloring palette, none of the textures show up. I can copy textures from other blocks I've placed, but I can't pick textures in the P menu, because none of them are there, I can only choose "None". I'm guessing some file is corrupted, but I don't know which one it is. Reinstalling didn't work

Same happened to me, my log file says: "An attempt was made to load an assembly from a network location which would have caused the assembly to be sandboxed in previous versions of the .NET Framework. This release of the .NET Framework does not enable CAS policy by default, so this load may be dangerous. If this load is not intended to sandbox the assembly, please enable the loadFromRemoteSources switch. See http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=155569 for more information."
So I checked the link, and it says stuff about the loadFromRemoteSources line of code. With some intuition and the notepad, I edited the SpaceEngineers.exe.config file, so the first 5 lines of code looked like this:
The fourth line is the one you have to add, then you save the file and that's it, now the game works for me. I'm no expert nor professional, and english is not my first language, but I hope you can understand it, and maybe it helps :)
Any workshop item that has a zip archive version of the workshop item can be downloaded for offline use HERE if you don't already have what you want to run offline. If you already have it it's in [steamlibrary]/steamapps/workshop/content/[game ID number].
They need to be extracted/copied to the %appdata% folders for the game, not the installation directory so they work and run offline.
Mods that have graphical items like blocks that can be placed in the game, the Gear mod and Rotory Airlock Doors as examples (it has blocks not included in the default game) go in the Mod folder in their own folder. Scripts like Automatic LCD's 2 and [PAM] go in the "Ingamescripts" folder, blueprints go in the blueprints folder, and so on. They don't all go in the Mods folder.
They need to be in their own separate folder inside the correct folder that's already there in the %appdata% directory. The folders for the mods we extract, install, or copy can be named whatever we want. They show up in the game as we named them. Name them appropriately. We don't need to use the string of numbers ID from the workshop. We can name the folders so we recognize them in the game menus.
I play SE offline with mods and scripts from the workshop this way all the time. I'm looking for a different (legitimate and legal) copy of the game I can download because I do own it but, go figure, the game got buggy and needs reinstalled. I don't have internet and can't login to Steam to update the validation. The files changed because I tried fixing the bugginess by extracting a zip archive I made of the game version I have knowing I'd be offline for a while.
Be aware that if this cracked version works it's a newer version than what's publicly released on Steam. The latest Steam release is v1.197 as of August 2021. Some workshop items may have issues, not work, because this game version is different than the workshop items are compiled for.
go to appdata find space engineers folder in folder there should be blueprint folder, go to it and click local folder. Download a blueprint using https://steamworkshopdownloader.io/ . If you get a tmp file inside the zip click it if you are using 7zip and the files inside should be a . Sbc (or something close to that) along with a png for the blueprint. Make a folder inside the local folder (for your blueprint that you want) and paste those downloaded files inside the zip into the folder you created inside the local folder.
I don't really know if you can access the workshop to get blueprints but you most definitely can make and use blueprints in your personal storage if you wonder how to do that ctrl+B is to record/update a blueprint and I think F10 is to open your storage from there select your blueprint and click copy to clipboard and paste it into the projector block
For those that are considering downloading Space Engineers, please note the base game download is of a HIGHER version than the patch that is available. THERE IS NO NEED TO DOWNLOAD THE PATCH!
Hello.. I downloaded this game and got all DLC packs... But I didn't got any of the armour skins and character suits that r included in dlc... Pls help..
So i just downloaded it and now for some reason whenever i try to run it, it will open Space Engineers store page and wont even open nor do anything... Please someone tell me how to open it?!?
I already did when it got downloaded i didn't even open it. Instantly moved the crack folder to the game folder. But just to be sure the crack folder is named " Codex " right!?
Move the contents of the folder to the game folder, and as @disqus_rdPG92kxHf:disqus said, in the installer there is a checkbox that will say copy contents of CODEX to game folder, you should always check that.
yes but you have to move the contents of the codex folder not the codex folder itself. for future reference, when installing codex games, in the setup there is a checkbox "copy folder contents to game folder" or something like that, it will apply the crack for you.
just a noted, when i play this and build and Armada, after it finish, it can't go up nor go down, idk why... maybe because the ship was too big? no, it's just stuck and can't go anywhere
Check out the info section under the ship's info panel to see if the 'ship' is a 'station' or not. If so, convert the station to a ship. This should solve your problem.

nope some say try goldburge but its to complecated games on sale untill nov 2 i am going to buy the base game and use the updates to get it up and see if i can access multiplayer that way
You can't sorry - there's no way possible yet. It's an online-only thing, through the Steam inventory system and the only way to access that at this point is to buy the game though Steam. But even people that pay for the game lose access to the armor block skins in offline mode or when there's no internet connection. It's a good game worth buying, plenty of mods and workshop blueprints to extend the gameplay and keep you invested easily for hundreds of hours. Reviews are mostly good, the developers are open and have a history of listening to their playerbase and remain connected to the community. I really like this game. I liked Planet Nomads before this but that game looks unfinished and dead. I tried to enjoy No Man's Sky but it's very limited on the construction side of things. Empyrion feels lifeless and I drifted away pretty quick. Space Engineers took me a while to get comfortable with, especially the six-degrees of movement and coordinating my fingers effectively. But it's pretty awesome once the controls are mastered and you understand the basics of the physics and you freak out when you first encounter the Clang. But yeah, as soon as I can I will purchase this game as I've already spent maybe 50 hours all up playing it and only just beginning while having fun the whole time. I do suggest watching a few YouTube tutorial videos like how to build ships, how certain blocks like pistons and rotors work and interact and general tips and tricks - they all help greatly as this game is deeper than it appears. You can try out mods and blueprints as well by browsing the steam workshop, copying the mod URL, going to steamworkshopdownloader(dot)io, and pasting the link generating a zip download. The unzipped files go in appdata-roaming-SpaceEngineers - mods folder for mods (unzipped into seperate folders, name doesn't matter but best to name the folder whatever the zip file name is so you know what mod is in each) and blueprints-local for blueprints (F10 or shift+F10 in game to acces blueprints). Check the date the mods were posted though, some old mods are unsupported and don't work or cause annoying bugs, Hope that helps - I wrote a fair bit so later when I buy it I can copy most of this for the review.
You should also try Elite Dangerous, it doesn't have the possibility of walking on planets yet, but the update will probably launch this year, and then it will atleast for me be on par with Star Citizen.
I'm glad I decided to try this before buying it. The horrendously unintuitive UI and building mechanics, along with the tediousness of having to walk back and forth between your storage and what you're building just to carry a few items at a time really saps all the joy out of everything. Hell, you spend more time trying to find, create, and carry items than you spend on actually building anything. Who the hell wants to build entire spaceships via awkwardly maneuvering your character around in a jetpack while micromanaging your jetpack fuel, oxygen, and battery power on top of the clunky-ass UI and having to craft and haul the dozens of different items that are necessary to build just one part? I'm sure there's a creative mode, but that kind of defeats the whole point of playing a scenario. Also, the graphics are absolutely horrendous, even at maximum quality settings. I'm not at all picky about how a game looks, but this game is physically painful to look at. It looks like a PS1 game that went overboard on the textures to the point that nothing is recognisable. And despite the shit rendering, it manages to run worse than Fall Out 4.
Mate, what you're writing here is the point of a creative survival game. Just like in Minecraft you need to worry not to die of hunger, here you worry not to suffocate or run out of jetpack fuel and fall. And yes, there is a creative mode, meant for testing various ideas you may come up with ar just messing around in an environment, where you don't have to worry about survival aspects of the game. You could have as well said that you hate the restart feature in Hotline Miami, that's one of the main things in it. Or that there is too much gore and fanservice in anime, that's the main reason for many people to watch it.
The difference is how well they're integrated and executed. This game does it very poorly, to the point that it's more a chore than a game. Maybe if it ran smoothly and wasn't a literal eyesore, it'd be more tolerable, but with how it was, it just felt like hours of slow torture. Not to mention the bugs. But hey, if that's something you're into, go for it. This is just my opinion.
It should and WILL feel like a chore in the first moments of the game, it will only get to be fun when you create your first vehicle, but it seems you didn't even reach as far as that, and the game for me runs pretty great, no major fps loss, you should check the minimum/reccomended specs for the game, the game has its own art-style, and for me it looks gorgeous, but apparently if it doesn't look like crysis 3 on ultra high it is ugly (at least for you i guess).
dude you miss the point so much use your mind to make it easier to play it close to real life when building u new start and saying is crap if its crap build something to store you stuff t that can weld grind one time this is a real building game look at you tube vids anything id possible in space engineers has a large communite and alots of mods to help in game wish i could of team up with u ingame and build stuff with u then u would understand
Probobly not. The items from unknown signals (or whatever they're called) is probobly stored in your steam accaunt. Now, this being pireted obviously means you aren't connected to any steam accaunt or even internet. Someone may figure it out eventualy but it would be tricky

Fixed various crashes on client and server This faction issues is preventing my friend from changing settings in wheel suspensions, and crashing the server (me) when exiting a camera for example, so reading the changelog for that hotfix I guess that fixes it. But there is no cracked version of it yet :S

I did this but near the end an Iso DLL failture occurs and it rolls back the installation. Also when trying to extract it I got an CRC failed: Space Engineers Frostbite CODEX\codex-space.engineers.frostbite.iso error

Hi, i need help. When i create a game and i don't choose offline, i choose the pod, i can look around and when i go outside of the pod, i can't look around and i can't move. Impossible to play, need to close. When i choose offline, it spawn me in a station so i kill myself to choose the pod and it's ok i can move outside... I see that there is a LAN option in the joining pannel so is it possible like all LAN game with a software ?
I have the same problem and it seems to only be in a multiplayer world. I hope this problem gets resolved soon, I would love to play this with some friends.

If you install the new version with the old version installed the data (worlds, progress ...) goes from the old to the new one even without internet connection.
Installed the update, but it keeps tell me that my .NET framework is outdated and send me to the download page of the 4.6.2 version while I have the 4.8. I am reinstalling the game to see if it fix this.

You see the file sizes i think in the video.11gb or something and the 3 update is ~900mb.You can't skip for example the 2nd update coz after that u can't install the 3rd one.

yeh, game is fun for a while until you realize: 1.- It's a grand grindfest with nothing to do by yourself really 2.- It's lean AF in single player content 3.- It's actually fun with some people, good if you have friends who play it semi-frequently, not so much if you don't. It'd be fun as a minecraft-esque kind of game if only it wasn't so grindy
This game has one of the best indie studio that listen to the community and always deliver , please if you enjoy it and can afford it buy it , worth every penny and the developers are just way too awesome to pirate this in my opinion , not judging , we all have our hands dirty , just saying they deserve your support
when you download the game it should save as .part1 .part2 and .part3 .... if you have WinRAR installed, right click on the .part1 and "Extract to" then it will extract all 3 parts into 1 folder.....hope this helps :) cheers This also applies to all games that have more than 1 part to them!!

that's because the steam_api64.dll that comes with the game is cracked to bypass steam....if you replace it with a common copy it will disable the cracked .dll and run as a normal version of the game.
Hi, just downloaded it as the 3 part http://megaup.net and extracted all files then i was trying to locate where to launch the game, and found it in Bin64 (only place i could find the launcher) and it starts up then crashes then continues to open my steam onto the space engineers purchase page on the steam store. I read a comment further below saying to "crack it" when i mount the file but when i mount the file all that comes up once in the mounted file says Codex, Autorun, Setup, Setup-1. and when i tried before i just opened the 'Setup' file and installed it that way. Help please thx.
the cracked files are in the "CODEX" folder, the installer should have an option to "Copy contents of CODEX folder" ....if not, copy the contents of the CODEX folder into the folder you installed the game to and it should work.....cheers :)
ugh! i tried this when it 1st came out surprised it's done so well i thought it was terrible glad others like it maybe ill take another look at it when it's done
the http://igg-games.com is the correct one but to let everyone know the other day i was having real problems with it! Even though it was correct it wasn't going thru after the 4-5th try i finally got it! I don't know why i even changed it to capitals thinking maybe i was wrong but nope i just kept trying till it worked. So if your having trouble like i did it's the system not you! just keep trying like i did! I almost put in a fix password request glad i didn't , Good luck!
hey i found and bought a 4tb external hard drive as i have only a 1tb solid state drive and one of my games far cry 5 is 93GB!!!! It cost me $70 it was on sale but you can get them for around $140 it will help you make some room and you can play and keep way more games! The new games that are coming out soon are huge! over 100GB so you might wanna think about doing something like that if you like to play the big games with great graphic's or you will end up just watching others playing on youtube! To me watching others play and have fun makes me wanna play even more! Hope this helps
Did you download an exe file? When opening the exe, did you get a rar file, or am I missing something? If the above is true, you downloaded an ad, make sure you get the correct file.
does anyone know how to add mods to this version? Since it's not run through steam you can't add them as if it were a normal steam release game..... Help!?!

blueprints aka ships go to %appdata/roaming /spaceengineers/blueprints/local mods aka wepions n stuff go to appdata/roaming/spaceengineers/mods p.s. to get .bin files working change them to .zip and extract

am curious if you've gotten Hamachi to work with games that seem to use steam hosting.. such as games like Raft and Brick Rigs. ive been trying with those two with no luck. was wondering if you have a work around.
I'm not interested in the multiplayer but I found this on reddit in response to someone asking if hamachi would work with this game : Here are 3 options to how to host a server for you and your friends. I'm not gonna question why you want to use hamachi but i will mention that you need to own the game to join or host a server. The easiest option. For when you just want to play around a little. Friend them on steam and start the game with the online mode set to "friends". This is found in the world options and all you have to do after turning it on is to load the world. Drawback: You game is the server, if you turn it of the server goes down. The harder, but free option For when you can't pay for a host, but still want a dedicated server. Run a dedicated server on your pc. more complicated so here is a guide: http://www.spaceengineersgame.com/dedicated-servers.html Drawback: The server runs on your pc so if you turn it off the server will go down. Though you don't need to have the game running. And it can be run on a farily weak secondary pc. The best, but not free option For when you want a "real" server. Rent a server. But it's also the only one you need to pay for (though it's pretty cheap). Mods that have graphical items like blocks that can be placed in the game, the Gear mod and Rotory Airlock Doors as examples (it has blocks not included in the default game) go in the Mod folder in their own folder. Scripts like Automatic LCD's 2 and [PAM] go in the "Ingamescripts" folder, blueprints go in the blueprints folder, and so on. They don't all go in the Mods folder.
They need to be in their own separate folder inside the correct folder that's already there in the %appdata% directory. The folders for the mods we extract, install, or copy can be named whatever we want. They show up in the game as we named them. Name them appropriately. We don't need to use the string of numbers ID from the workshop. We can name the folders so we recognize them in the game menus.
I play SE offline with mods and scripts from the workshop this way all the time. I'm looking for a different (legitimate and legal) copy of the game I can download because I do own it but, go figure, the game got buggy and needs reinstalled. I don't have internet and can't login to Steam to update the validation. The files changed because I tried fixing the bugginess by extracting a zip archive I made of the game version I have knowing I'd be offline for a while.
Be aware that if this cracked version works it's a newer version than what's publicly released on Steam. The latest Steam release is v1.197 as of August 2021.
Some workshop items may have issues, not work, because this game version is different than the workshop items are compiled for.

It's a good game worth buying, plenty of mods and workshop blueprints to extend the gameplay and keep you invested easily for hundreds of hours. Reviews are mostly good, the developers are open and have a history of listening to their playerbase and remain connected to the community. I really like this game. I liked Planet Nomads before this but that game looks unfinished and dead. I tried to enjoy No Man's Sky but it's very limited on the construction side of things. Empyrion feels lifeless and I drifted away pretty quick.
Space Engineers took me a while to get comfortable with, especially the six-degrees of movement and coordinating my fingers effectively. But it's pretty awesome once the controls are mastered and you understand the basics of the physics and you freak out when you first encounter the Clang.
But yeah, as soon as I can I will purchase this game as I've already spent maybe 50 hours all up playing it and only just beginning while having fun the whole time.
I do suggest watching a few YouTube tutorial videos like how to build ships, how certain blocks like pistons and rotors work and interact and general tips and tricks - they all help greatly as this game is deeper than it appears.
You can try out mods and blueprints as well by browsing the steam workshop, copying the mod URL, going to steamworkshopdownloader(dot)io, and pasting the link generating a zip download. The unzipped files go in appdata-roaming-SpaceEngineers - mods folder for mods (unzipped into seperate folders, name doesn't matter but best to name the folder whatever the zip file name is so you know what mod is in each) and blueprints-local for blueprints (F10 or shift+F10 in game to acces blueprints). Check the date the mods were posted though, some old mods are unsupported and don't work or cause annoying bugs,

Who the hell wants to build entire spaceships via awkwardly maneuvering your character around in a jetpack while micromanaging your jetpack fuel, oxygen, and battery power on top of the clunky-ass UI and having to craft and haul the dozens of different items that are necessary to build just one part?
I'm sure there's a creative mode, but that kind of defeats the whole point of playing a scenario.
Also, the graphics are absolutely horrendous, even at maximum quality settings. I'm not at all picky about how a game looks, but this game is physically painful to look at. It looks like a PS1 game that went overboard on the textures to the point that nothing is recognisable. And despite the shit rendering, it manages to run worse than Fall Out 4.
And yes, there is a creative mode, meant for testing various ideas you may come up with ar just messing around in an environment, where you don't have to worry about survival aspects of the game.
You could have as well said that you hate the restart feature in Hotline Miami, that's one of the main things in it. Or that there is too much gore and fanservice in anime, that's the main reason for many people to watch it.
But hey, if that's something you're into, go for it. This is just my opinion.
The items from unknown signals (or whatever they're called) is probobly stored in your steam accaunt. Now, this being pireted obviously means you aren't connected to any steam accaunt or even internet. Someone may figure it out eventualy but it would be tricky

Fixed faction issues
If you still experiencing issues with your faction, restart the faction. Remove all members including the leader so the faction is deleted and make it again.
Fixed various crashes on client and server
This faction issues is preventing my friend from changing settings in wheel suspensions, and crashing the server (me) when exiting a camera for example, so reading the changelog for that hotfix I guess that fixes it. But there is no cracked version of it yet :S
it just doesnt run well
Otherwise I don't know how good the the integrated intel graphics are.

1.- It's a grand grindfest with nothing to do by yourself really
2.- It's lean AF in single player content
3.- It's actually fun with some people, good if you have friends who play it semi-frequently, not so much if you don't.

I read a comment further below saying to "crack it" when i mount the file but when i mount the file all that comes up once in the mounted file says Codex, Autorun, Setup, Setup-1. and when i tried before i just opened the 'Setup' file and installed it that way. Help please thx.

Here are 3 options to how to host a server for you and your friends. I'm not gonna question why you want to use hamachi but i will mention that you need to own the game to join or host a server.
The easiest option. For when you just want to play around a little. Friend them on steam and start the game with the online mode set to "friends". This is found in the world options and all you have to do after turning it on is to load the world. Drawback: You game is the server, if you turn it of the server goes down.
The harder, but free option For when you can't pay for a host, but still want a dedicated server. Run a dedicated server on your pc. more complicated so here is a guide: http://www.spaceengineersgame.com/dedicated-servers.html Drawback: The server runs on your pc so if you turn it off the server will go down. Though you don't need to have the game running. And it can be run on a farily weak secondary pc.
