Some tips for beginners: killing the crow man should be your priority, doing so will enable you to use the bed to save when ever you want without the fear of failing the coin flip after advancing a lot in the game then be killed by the crow man and wasting all of your progress for nothing However, the crow is very powerful, big chance that you are gonna get killed or heavily injured and die later from wound infection, so first thing you gotta do is to kill the lizardman in the flesh sewer area, first target his sword arm and cut it off, then attack his head, hopfully you will come out uninjured from that battle, search his corpse and take the crude sword which is very powerful, now go to the bed where you can save, first save is free of risk so you better not use it until you kill the lizardman first, now use the free save, then try to save again, this time there will be a coin flip, if you fail, the crow man will attack you during your sleep, keep targeting his head, its not a guaranteed hit but its your best bet, most likely you will die a couple of times before you manage to finally kill him without suffering dismemberment or eye injury, in which case i advice you to reload the game even if you killed him Once he is dead and you're healthy or with minor injuries, you can confidently explore the dungeon then come back to the bed and use it without worrying about losing the coin flip and be killed by the crow, wasting everything you,'ve done, dont forget to search his dead body which will give you a key to a door where you were hearing voices in your head saying "come find me" Some extra tips: pickup everything you can find, dont pass a single barrel or box without searching it, also pick up herbs from the floor, green herbs stop infection you get from combat wounds without the need to sever your infected limp, these herbs will come in handy after fighting the crow, if you dont stop infection, your characters will die few minutes after the fight Also pick every piece of armor you find, head gear wont just increase your defense, but will also decrease the chance of getting your eyes injured during your fight with the crow man, injured eyes will Make the screen totally black during exploration which might force you to restart the game If you searched book shelves and tables and found an empty scroll and a quill, use the empty scroll, it will ask you to write 3 sentences, write this (with capital letters) 1- O LORD 2- TEACH 3- BLOOD GOLEM, this will teach you to summon a powerful creature temporary at the cost of some HP, he can greatly help you against the crow, just keep in mind, he is a summoned creature not a party member which means he'll disappear after the combat ends
There are two lizard men, one in the flesh pit, the other in the mines, maybe their positions change since the game is a bit random, but in my 3 playthroughs, i always met the lizardman in the flesh pit
empty scrolls don't work even though I typed the correct commands... And the hall of the Gods won't understand any character name I input. Is there a glitch or something?

Figured out a way: Cut off his cleaver hand, then cut his right/left leg, guard< (this is important because he'll try to grab you but you can easily guard and get 2 extra turns) , cut off the remanding leg, after he'll lose balance and you can cut his head off.
