guys anybody know how to make the server connection on the 7th game? i want to customize the castle T_T i know it's cracked duh but isn't there a way to cheese it?
Damaged File Solution (IMPORTANT!!!): You have to change the names of the files which have a "(2)" in it. Example: Original and wrong name: The.Settlers.History.Collection.part1 (2).rar RIGHT AND WORKING NAME: The.Settlers.History.Collection.part1.rar
You must cut folder "bin" and paste in "extra1" then you want play with extendion pack or "extra2" when you wand play with legends .then just lauch a game
Say you want to change language from German to English "thesettlers5" -> "base" -> "lng" Now open the folder "DE" (for German) and delete all content. Go back, open the folder "EN", copy all content and paste it into the folder "DE" "thesettlers5" -> "base" -> "shr" -> "text" Do exactly the same as you did before Repeat exactly the same for
"thesettlers5" -> "extra1" AND
"thesettlers5" -> "extra2" This worked at least for Settlers 6... (Sorry for late reply...)

Delete content of folder "en" and copy&paste content of folder with desired language
open folders "thesettlers6" -> "data" -> "base" ->"shr" -> "text"
Copy content of folder for desired language.

I tried removing all language files except english & it stll didn't work, I only managed to make it work after replacing lang.bba file with another one I found online but unfortunately don't remember the site I got it from
I understand your approach pretty well, tried this one initially. Its not about deleting all files you don't need, its about replacing them. If you replace the files in the english folder, all files that refer to this one will use the new language files. But this won't change the in-game text, just the voices (in TS6), By looking at the file you mentioned, it contains the line "language=bb" but you can't change this (if, the game will not start again). Therefore in the text folder, I replaced the content of the sub-folder bb with the language files. All files that refer to this bb folder now use the new langauge files. Thats the rationale behind my approach that worked at least for TS6
How to launch the expansions in the settlers 5, i use the win10cu fix, and the main game works properly but can't find a way to launch the for realm or legend expansions, somebody knows ? thanks
yah u are a shiny star there... some area are not covered with Fiber/ Wire .. and ppl can connect with Satelite or with 3/4G connections... well i'm too lazy to discuss with idiots like u
never heard of this franchise before (on those years starcraft,age of empires,warcraft were so overrated) and coming from ubisoft i wont be surprised why they didnt get so much popularity
Warcraft 3 was never overrated. It's the foundation to pretty much every single moba game today. And that you didn't know about Settlers kind of shows that you lacked the knowledge about games overall. Second and Third version was all over the market, and won several awards. Then again, maybe you're from 'merica. Not much knowledge of non-us games over there :P
sry, but Settler 1-4 were made by Bluebyte. It was actually popular enough. From 5 onward though they changed direction from the original settler and it became (in my oppinion) crap, as they wanted to make it another warcraft. The only ones that were playable from the newer ones were Settler 2 next generation (remake from settlers 2) and another one (i dont remember the name) that was basically another Settlers 2 with very good jokes in it. My Childhood was pretty much Settler 2 and 3 and till today i still play Settlers 3 from time to time. Different from Warcraft and Starcraft, the older settlers arent as fast paced and were more on building up your production with a LOT of resources, especially if we look at the time it was released (I mean, i played Settlers 3 on a Win 95 PC with 166 MHz).

When I was a kid, I played 1 & 2. Years later, I went to play one of the later one 5>7 (not sure which), and it was like "what is this garbage?" Whoever was responsible for it certainly hadn't played the originals to know what was appealing about it.
The settlers 5, also known as 'Age of Settlers'. The problem is when you make a series of games and then suddenly one has nothing to do with the others and you just used the same title just for sales.
Oh true... I didnt think that way about it. But I mean, it's not just AoE it reminded me of but also Empire Earth which is like my all time forever favorite. (the first one especially)

The installer doesn't let you choose which of the seven games to install, it will just install them all.
