Is the file size less than 5 MB? Did you get the file directly, or have you used an exe? If the answer to any of the questions is yes, you downloaded an ad. Please try downloading the files again and make sure you get the correct ones.
To fix the windows 7 graphical error from water and terrain you must delete explorer.exe from task manager To re open explorer.exe (the thing that shows the task bar and the apps from desktop) you need to have task manager open (or open it with ctr alt delete) you can see in the top left corner something that is called "file" click it and then click on "run new task" then you type explorer.exe there and then done and ur task bar and apps are back (this would bring back the graphical error but the fix can be redone over and over) I hope this fixes the thing and Im glad it helped
I downloaded the game and the game had no music. I don't know if the reason is because a file named "Induc.A" downloaded together with the game and Windows Defender says that it is a Virus! Game installs easily and works perfectly! IGG has really outdone themselves this time, even the "Color Compatibility Issue" has been fixed. Just a heads up though, there's a executable file name "Aconfig.exe", THIS IS NOT A VIRUS! It's a false positive, just exclude it from your "Antivirus" program and you're done. Thanks IGG! EDIT: It seems like the BGM is missing in-game, even in the AOE files, It's not there. You might need to RIP it from somewhere and put it inside the "Taunt" folder. Nonetheless, It's nothing major and doesn't take away the fun of playing the game.
I can't start the game, After installing the game I get this when I click on Age2 (Age2 on your pc need the following windows feature "direct play"), am I suppose to install that?
Also in the AOE II Gold I got "age of empires 2 the conquerors expansion full game" installer and another folder "AOE2 forgotten empires MOD", am I suppose to do anything with this folder? Like put everything into the game directory?
