Similar story here. Games super cool but it costs so much but much worse is that it has paid dlc on it's paid game. I'll avoid that stuff at all cost. I don't want to spend 40 bucks on rimworld, then a year later 30 more, and in 5 years enjoying rimworld has cost 200 bucks

Hey friend you do you when it's safe to do you. Don't go rushing to pick up the game if it's not feasibly safe for your well-being. Make sure you've got all the essentials downpat and a nice bit of savings, then maybe pick up the main game, possibly a DLC if you know you'll be set. Paying folks for their hard work is super cool and all but we value the people who enjoy our work and would rather you take as long as you need as long as you yourself are in a safe situation in life. Don't worry, we'll be here but we also want to make sure you'll be there alongside us.
yeah, about that. The price of Rimworld in my country is enough to feed me a few week but yeah I enjoy committing warcrime especially on historical level realistic if you know what I mean
Literally saving up for Biotech atm. Love your game. Mods are big reason for it so help those guys however you can. Some features and UI are annoying but mods should tell you guys enough about that. My biggest complain is the price, I've been buying expansions as they come but for a new player it's a huge investment, no one wants just the base game. A bundle would be the best alternative to discounts. My suggestion is the Base Game plus All DLC except newest one for 40 euros. It's a huge first step for a new player and you'd still get as much as a AAA game 10 years after the game's release if they decided to buy it all. Besides that, good luck, can't wait for Rimworld 2 in 2053.

It's an okay game, but the development progress has been nearly non-existent, and it certainly isn't worth $100 for the "full game." It relies heavily on the modding community, which has arguably done more for the game than the devs have, or ever will.
If you guys squished all the paid DLCs into the base game and made it $20, it'd be worth buying with the level it's at. Since that's not gonna happen, piracy is the answer.
as of right now, the community that the IGG team gets their cracks from doesn't have a full pack of the cracked all dlc's + biotech updated to 1.4.3525. i think the latest they have crowd sourced so far is this: RimWorld v1.4.3525 rev1007 + DLC Royalty & Ideology | Public Branch | 22 October 2022 vut not the updated biotech =/
They probably wont have a post hotfix version till monday since they usually take sundays off as does most of their sources moderators i assume because they are orthadox russian christians lol
also if you want it to be updated put in a formal request in the "request a game" section in the top right corner, the mods ignore game requests in comments
Hey folks! Ramsis here, one of the Community Managers for the game, hope this version is playing alright. We pushed out Anomaly not too long ago and while we've seen a few complaints mostly pertaining to difficulty it seems pretty well enjoyed. Sorry to any saves, mods, etc that might have broken down from the patching but most mod makers rushed to get their updates out as best as they could.
As always much love to all gaming walks of life. Our group understands the thousands of reasons folks pirate and no shame in doing what you do friends, though if you do get a wild hair and think the team did a great job pick up a copy! If you think the devs did a great job but can't get a copy for one of the many reasons that exist say some kind words about the game to a friend or on our various channels!
If you have some gripes do feel free to post on our forum, the Steam side of things, heck there's the official unofficial Discord too (just don't bring up piracy as that's one of our rules for ease) and come express yourselves.
not even 1 gb for such a legendary game with the best mods allowing for over hundreds of hours. thank you this. btw if you want to mod the game then here are the steps:
find a mod you want on the steam workshop using a browser like chrome and copy the link (not on the steam app)
go to steamworkshopdownloader and paste the link
download file then extract
paste the downloaded mod into the rimworld mod folder. this mod folder should already be there with your rimworld exe
What I didn't knew there is a site you can download mods from the steam workshop without to buy the game first. Thank you very much finally someone knows a site what does such stuff.

That is an option but the downloader in rimpy is broken, and has been for a while, If you attempt to use it the app just freeze's and crashes. Thanks for the suggestion but next time try the app before advocating for it.
its a pretty common issue, after about 100 downloads which do get over pretty fast it starts crashing, google it you can see many people talking about it.
Just a heads up, the Royalty DLC isn't cracked so if you plan on importing it into a paid version of Rimworld you'll need to go into Data/Royalty/About/About.xml and remove the line that looks like steamAppId>0000000</steamAppId
Does anyone know if it's possible to just take the new DLC from this and run it on a legit copy? I have the game and first 2 DLCs, but they got too greedy with the £20 price tag this time IMO.

its not, the post was first created in 2018, when u download the game from here u actually get the newest version together with ideology expansion pack
it means you downloaded the wrong one. be smart bro. get a blocker and make sure you download the actual thing. on some mirrors like megaup you'll need to click download and close out the popped up tabs (usually named sslsearches or downloadsfreefile) multiple times. make sure you get the actual download from the original mirror u chose. all files should be rar and then extracted
I was struggling with opening it and crashing in the same second, but I found a way to get into the game without crashing. To do this you need to click on the RimWorld.v1.4.3704 folder and when you reach the second folder written rimworld you put it in C:\Program Files and confirm run as administrator.
Remembering that I'm talking about when you have it in the winrar application, not when it's already extracted
I don't know if I'll like it, but since making demo versions of a game is unheard of these days, This'll do, just like with kenshi. While speaking about kenshi - I clocked in now over 1k hours on steam, bought it only because I could use the "test" version beforehand. IGG comes in clutch!

listen, rimpy breaks after reaching 100 mods in the mod location, the cracked one works forever and can handle more files at once, i know its hard to trust but where else am i supposed to talk about this? Game runs fine. DLCs work fine as well. Can play it vanilla without any issues whatsoever.
However, I'm unable to use any mods. They show up in the mod list but are unable to be switched on or be moved. Clicking them gives the activation click sound but no change in appearance nor are they active in-game. Can turn on and off the Royalty and Religious addons without issue but not anything else, doesn't matter if it's a single mod or a dozen so t's not a mod interaction issue. As well, it's not a ram/memory issue as have more than enough to spare and my hardware is working fine.
Any help is appreciated. Using the build 1.3.3270 downloaded from this site.
you can use the rimry mod manager to bypass the ingame mod menu. using rimry you can also load the mod manager workshop mod to give an ingame mod menu. hope this helps until the file is fixed.
Not sure what exactly was the problem with DLC not loading(no cannibal or empire factions when making new game) but shutting down steam and deleting/renaming the appdata Ludeon folder seems to have fixed it(just closing Steam might have worked but dunno, I was going to reset save data anyway to clean out old mod stuff and such)
I've been looking for them all over, but the latest 1.4 only comes from a single site known to be suspicious. Some mods absolutely require it to be the latest version AND the latest rev, which I couldn't find otherwise. So I'm going to request the alternative versions on the request page right now. Check back later, hopefully they'll add them!
Wsg chat, so I got problems, I download game as zip file, I unzip it and there are setups inside the game as a setup + the dlc. I can setup the main game just fine, but the dlc, I cannot. What could be a fix for my problems? much appreciated ay gl out there
i got most of the game but anom visa steam but im trying to use a pirated anom and in order to use it i got to forsake ALL MY MOD unless i want to download my active list into a file pile. its only 90 mods but i rather not do this for every list i feel in the mood to use. anyone got ideas
ok so a fix for issues like mine if you just want to add anom to a legal copy just throw anomally into the mod file instead of the data (were all offical dlc is) and it will function as far as i have tested. mostly a quick start thrown togeather with a decent modpile too
But that way Anomaly won't get updated next time Tynan pushes out a new patch, I'd rather use IGG version as a whole to avoid version mismatch & potential unstablility that comes with it.
If you own RimWorld on Steam even without DLC, starting the game using this copy will boot into your Steam copy... what kind of wizardry is this, or am I missing something?
Steam is probably just detecting it, the actual copy running is the pirated one. Check task manager and determine where the .exe is running, you'll see.
When I click "show file location" it does lead me to this exe file, but for some reason the process that's actually running is my legit RimWorld on Steam, it even says I'm logged in.
Guess I'll just copy all the mods then delete Steam version.

The reason it's doing this is because all RimWorld copies on your PC will share the same save location set up by Ludeon Studio (the one in AppData) and they literally put an instruction in the ReadMe for us to change that per-install, silly me.
Is there anyway to get an alert for when this updates? I got the game on steam and only use this for some of the DLC but the new update just messed everything up.
Yeah it was, they updated the DLC and it was causing errors on steam because I don't own the DLC there. IGG are pretty good at updating their games quickly though and it's already been updated so it's working fine now.
But they do. I tested 4 and all worked fine. Would be nice to know what you do or don't do that they don't, so we could help you out. So, more context would be nice. Also great would be to make absolutely sure you did everything in your power you could think of, like simply pressing the "Click here to download" button after the 5 second timer goes down, which then leads you to the actual download site.
I don't know why, but all of Anomaly's content is in English. The German folder is actually available in the game folder for the expansion. How do I activate this?
it's relatively simple. Just head to your Rimworld folder, Data, Anamoly and then languagues. There you have Rar files. You just unzip the German rar file which spits out a folder German (Deutsch), but make sure to rename it afterwards to just German. After that, start the game and just to make extra sure go to the language tab in the main menu and select German again, not German (Deutsch). It will load everything again, but after that all the Anomaly stuff was in German for me :)
Since I can't edit my previous reply, I just want to mention that this method of changing the language is the same with every other language in the languagues folder of Rimworld, in case you want to switch to what you want. The process is otherwise the same as above :)
I bought the anomaly dlc on Fanatical.com (because it gives me a discount there). I'm just missing the Biotech dlc, might buy it tomorrow or next week but until then i'm just gonna grab it from here. 🙏🏾
does anyone have the 1.4 version cuz there's like 3 mods that are compatible with 1.5 and all the 1.4 mods dont even work i need my 12 seconds of gameplay with avalis

I noticed this seems to be missing some libraries. I don't know if this would have any effect on the game except for loading times after modding the game, but it would be great if they could be added back in. The error log is posted here https://pastebin.com/RSqx8Ne2

Can you guys help me I have Rimworld on steam and I transferred the Royalty and Ideology folders from the Cracked to Steam version and they dont work. Only biotech works. This worked until now.
Nevermind I figured it out if you are in the same situation as me you should go to the data folder --> select the dlc --> go in the about folder (open with wordpad to edit it) --> remove the "steamappid" line and save the document. Pirated DLC should work on paid steam copy
you can also put the dlc folders in the mod folders and it will load the dlc as a mod with zero problem. it will complain about not using ludeon name in mods but you can ignore those
the actual DLC is not out yet, the 1.4 update is in the unstable branch which im not sure if they upload here, just wait until the dlc and update are completed and then you should be alright. :)
