download the latest update down the main game links it happened to me too but i found out that igg put an update so i downloaded it and the game opened :) but my money and some other things' numbers are not shown dont know why
Can you please make multiplayer work? It states "ONLINE" on menu but it cannot connect to actual players (game keeps trying to connect to servers all the time) Try to make it so that the game thinks that you are logged in from the epic games client so it can connect to actual players. Like make a launcher that allows players to create a dummy epic games account for ashen so that game recognizes it and allows multiplayer.
Basically you Can't make a dummy account on Epic Games for online play, thats hard to be done with Steam, but Epic Games is another level, unless you would like to use fake online with your account and lose it.

There are pirated games where it is possible for you to play online multiplayer. For example, Broforce. Usually you can find in the installed folder something like "Redist" or a folder along those.. you can go in there and it will have a file called "DirectX Setup" Or look for something along those lines.. worst comes to worst just find the latest version of DirectX on google and download it and it'll find. Hope this helps!
multiplayer doesn't work, it will say online on the menu but the game cannot connect to actual players as it doesn't have an account info (because no epic games account is linked to this copy). So, no multiplayer does NOT work.
the biggest reason for the update was so that multiplayer would work on pc but sadly it doesn't as this is an account free copy (you got no acccount liked to the game so it cannot connect to other players even though you will see online on the menu). The game has no drm protection so its possible to make a launcher that makes the game think that we are using an epic games account and it should let us configure the account to avoid exact same accounts across many players.
Can anyone share their save file please? I was at the Seat of the Matriarch and about to finish Bataran's final quest when my save file got corrupted and deleted... I don't want to start the game from scratch again...
You have to delete DgbHelp.dll for some godforsaken reason to get it to work on Win7. That should get things working. There was a comment explaining this but it's been buried by now.
i requested it 3 times already and they posted it on the game list as if it were updated. but it wasnt. igg essentially made me download the game again for no reason

why? i customized my windows 10 and now it looks like windows 7 for the most part. the only difference i notice instantly is a few extra icons in the taskbar. and the control panel menus. other than that. it looks the same
It was not about the UI it was the performance... it was terrible, i used the builld 1803 if i remenber correctly... just to load into windows took me like 15 min... and no i am not using a penthium CPU. i use a Athlon X6 CPU and 4 GB, i think is more than enough to handle Win10 x64

DbgHelp.dll (_installDir\Ashen\Ashen\Binaries\Win64\DbgHelp.dll) is the only file that causes errors only this file has to be deleted to get a workaround

While i do hate the extreme use and glorification of swords, i find it incredibly moronic for them to just remove them "because why not, we different, we cool yet?". I love polearms to death, specially Bardiches, but this is just a stupid design decision based on subjective bias and trying to excuse itself on ignorance, while limiting the player's choice and world for no good reason. Doesn't help that the thing is only releasing on EGS for now and it runs like garbage compared to it's graphics and mechanics (besides being so unoriginal it's just another Dark Souls copy for most people), that does show the devs have little to no idea of what are they even doing.

I agree with devs, tbh. Swords are fucking everywhere. It's too much. Their proliferation is more due to pop culture than anything else, appearing in scenarios where they don't belong all the fucking time. Swords were not battlefield weapons. They were almost always sidearms (or lower class main arms), with nobles and royals carrying them as main arms to show off since they didn't ever do much fighting. In vidya and anime you see Mr. Protag single-handedly winning a war with a katana or whatever despite the proven fact that POLEARMS ARE BETTER IN LITERALLY EVERY WAY. Spears, lances, halberds, etc. They have been in use since the Paleolithic era and have dominated battlefields and hunting grounds across human history until melee weapons were replaced by guns.
I respect the devs decisions, but they're arbitrary. Most people don't want to see too much 'real life' stuff in fantasy. Real life stuff means a conversation like "There's some suspicious people in the town. They lurk by the granary at sundown. I'll give you 200 gold to run them out." Turns into: "There's...um, some s-suspicious guys. Around here, in the town. I... ah, I was talking to granddad about it. He, uh, says that this sort of thing... didn't happen when he was a guard. That's debatable because it would actually depend on the person using the weapon over the weapon itself (for example, a m&kb is supposed to be superior to a gamepad in FPS games but I take on m&kb users constantly in death matches with an Xbox 360 controller and always end up in the top of the rankings. Make me use a m&kb, though, and I'd be hopelessly slaughtered), but none of that really matters as this isn't an actual battlefield but rather a video game. The decision to not include swords for developer tastes reasons is just the latest in odd decisions from developers lately that while some won't mind, will turn others off of the game in the end. Dice and Battlefield 5, Blizzard and Diablo Immortal, Bethesda and Fallout 76, and to some extent, Rockstar and Red Dead Online 2...now we can add this developer and Ashen.
While the skill of the person is also to be accounted for it has been proven that they are in fact not useful when against weapons like spears, bows, shields, lances or poleaxe. As for the devs choice yes i agree that it is odd not to add them in but to flat out hate/avoid a game because of it is odd in and of itself. Again i too wish there were swords even tho they are worse against alot of weapons, as i LOVE swords, hell i own some and have a t-shirts with swords on them, but i still love the game and think it's worth a try.

I can live with simulated DirectX 12 for gaming purpuses. And I am not leaving a stable enviroment for anything that needs 24 updates everyweek. Let me let you on a secret: I've never updated my Windows 10 in like 2.5 years (disabled updates). It's still very stable, I never have any issues with it. And I love it, I have it on all 3 of my machines since it's the most complete one, features wise. It even has the same performance as Windows 7 on low end PCs. What is there not to like? Which is why I know, it seems you people just parrot some hearsay, and not actual facts about it.

It seems like you found pretty elaborate reasons to not use Windows 10, but in that case what can you use? Certainly not any inferior version of Windows or god-forbid any Mac OS. In that case maybe Linux? Sure, that would do the trick for working environment, but sure as hell won't work for media consumption like gaming, since compatibility issues.
Well its a hydra. Unix as base Two Mrt Linxs and two virtual servers for Windows OS and MacOS applications when needed. All the rest runs as root vboxes. Thats why I said I can simulate DirectX 12 :)
i can think of 2 good reasons why people hate windows 10, 1 bad experience when they released the windows 8 -> windows 10 upgrade, personally i remember a 2 year old laptop i had bricking only because of it but yes people can and should get over that 2 you cant use old copies of games with old DRM (essentially 95% ie the bs with the cd keys and such) so you have to rebuy the perfectly fine games because of apparent security reasons
I didnt say they are bad. They are not stable for the kind of work I am doing. I dont need a mobile look alike OS. I need something that makes my life easier and especialy for customised OS for bussiness purposes. It depends on how you use them. If you need them for Facebook and gaming. Cool. If you need them for something more serious well no. Their Dll libs are out of date and they dont care for legacy DDFS! Even when Microsoft spend the half of the 00s advertising them as a solution for big data. Again, IT depends on what you need them and how you use them. And I dont care for games. I can simulate an OS to play a game I dont need a permanent installation. And if your connection is average you can even go for cloud OS sharing and gaming (aka Shadow) so no,, I am not afraid that I will not be able to play games with my old OS. It will keep working for at least 5 years more. Till then Win 10 will be stable, I hope, or it can even end like those pesky Vista. :P

It states "ONLINE" on menu but it cannot connect to actual players (game keeps trying to connect to servers all the time)
Try to make it so that the game thinks that you are logged in from the epic games client so it can connect to actual players. Like make a launcher that allows players to create a dummy epic games account for ashen so that game recognizes it and allows multiplayer.

I love polearms to death, specially Bardiches, but this is just a stupid design decision based on subjective bias and trying to excuse itself on ignorance, while limiting the player's choice and world for no good reason.
Doesn't help that the thing is only releasing on EGS for now and it runs like garbage compared to it's graphics and mechanics (besides being so unoriginal it's just another Dark Souls copy for most people), that does show the devs have little to no idea of what are they even doing.
The devs stated the reason why but i can't quite remember, i think it was because they were everywhere in games and they tend to take away from other weapons.

And that's what the devs wanted for the weapons to be more about how useful and (most of the time) better then swords.

I disagree, they are made for a targeted audience.
By your logic a racing game should have swords, guns, magic etc so people who like those things are also targeted.
Also "The game has GAY writen all over it." is not called for or have any bases.
That's debatable because it would actually depend on the person using the weapon over the weapon itself (for example, a m&kb is supposed to be superior to a gamepad in FPS games but I take on m&kb users constantly in death matches with an Xbox 360 controller and always end up in the top of the rankings. Make me use a m&kb, though, and I'd be hopelessly slaughtered), but none of that really matters as this isn't an actual battlefield but rather a video game.
The decision to not include swords for developer tastes reasons is just the latest in odd decisions from developers lately that while some won't mind, will turn others off of the game in the end. Dice and Battlefield 5, Blizzard and Diablo Immortal, Bethesda and Fallout 76, and to some extent, Rockstar and Red Dead Online 2...now we can add this developer and Ashen.
As for the devs choice yes i agree that it is odd not to add them in but to flat out hate/avoid a game because of it is odd in and of itself.
Again i too wish there were swords even tho they are worse against alot of weapons, as i LOVE swords, hell i own some and have a t-shirts with swords on them, but i still love the game and think it's worth a try.
