OK, I figured it out after installing the game. Razor used the GOG version. That's why the patches fixed the game and NOT the DLC because GOG requires the DLC to be updated separately. Steam updates the game AND the DLC. I also have the GOG X4 Collectors Edition and as you can see below, each DLC has it's own installer. So until Razor or another group releases a GOG update for the DLC we are screwed. You have 2 options here, you can continue to play the 6.20 version without the DLC since it's non-compatible, or you can delete the game and re-install the original and don't apply the 6.20 update. Hope this helped you. Sorry it didn't fix your problem....or mine. 🤷♀
Man, it's annoying. I downloaded this game and the Star wars mod for this game, but the mod requires the game version 6.20 but as many people have addressed the Update download is for COG and when people downloaded from MegaUP it was Razor1911 and so the installer for the updater is not compatible or whatnot.
To people asking for 6.0 update: I just checked 1337x, there's literally no 6.0 uploads. The newest upload is "5.10 hotfix 3a" from August 2022, so I guess we have to content with it for now...
Can't download Part 2. On the Bluemediafiles page the ads are thrown on top of the link where it says Click Here To Download. The ads then break the link, rendering it unusable. Bunch of amateurs running that site, looks like.
I keep getting an error every time I try opening the game. (The code execution cannot proceed because vulkan-1.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem) I did reinstall it but it didn't do anything. Can anyone help me?

After requesting to remove, the antivirus (Microsoft Security Essentials) stated that it was not found. The file with the false positive trojan was the 3.20 update.
Until the files are fixed, this upload is version 3.00 with Split Vendetta DLC (by PLAZA). The following patches should not work due to the fact they are intended for CODEX packages (different hash). Confusion comes from the fact initial upload was a CODEX pack too. I am sure that salad of files will be fixed as soon the uploader will notice. Learn to download the fkin game. There's literally another folder within the ISO that contains the 3 files necessary to crack the game. If it wasn't cracked it would have said so. ffs. They're in a folder within the ISO called PLAZA, double click on it, copy the 3 files in there after you install the game, go to the game directory and paste them there, it will replace the steamapi and you should be able to run the game. If they are missing your anti virus has probably quarantine them based on a false alarm and you have to green flag the files in the AV, and repeat the process.
Same problem as many others sadly when updating from 1.60>2.00 I get the Blank "ISDone.dll" error and the installer totals the whole game so it has to be deleted and reinstalled. I've downloaded the 2.00 update from 3-4 different links and tried every way I know to install the update with no luck, Has anyone else had this error and figured it out?
Just a suggestion really to make things a little easier to understand or know from our end. When you have updates like for this particular game when you have the update version number in the coloured bar maybe you could put the date that update was added in the same bar or another one next to it. This would help people understand at a glance if this was the latest update for the game in question. Again, just a suggestion. :~) Many thanks for all you do.
Just completed a full re-install of this for the sake of my igg family. I actually had no issues with the install... But here's what you can do. When you download the updates make sure you extract the contents in the rar archive to a location, and NOT double-click the update.exe from winrar. That would result in error. Update the game in order. v1.30 v1.50 v1.60 v2.00 v2.20 v2.50 If you are receiving an error for hash sum mismatch you might be installing the wrong update, or the is file corrupted. For any other errors or crashes that occur all i can suggest, run the game before the 2.00 patch. they patched a fair amount of issues in 2.00 and may need to be launched for the game to recognize some changes before moving onto the next patch. just a speculation Hope this helps, wish you all good gaming.
Hi! All worked perfect till I updated to 2.00 and the game started closing without any warning or message. I tried updating to 2.20 but when I try to uncompress the .rar an error pops-up. (Damaged file)
Did you download an exe file? When opening the exe, did you get a rar file, or am I missing something? If the above is true, you downloaded an ad, make sure you get the correct file.

Even better, an updated version of the game could be put up for download instead of an unpatched-patch-it-yourself version. Seems weird to do it that way.
Running the game after each patch may prevent this, or after the 2.0 specifically.. I've been playing the game fine since the first "release" updating with no errors. 2.20 seems to install and work correctly. try running as admin? Also maybe you should request the game be re-uploaded. they do fulfill requests that are posted. Would be nice if they do so.
I did have the thought of running the game between patches, but I guess I forgot to try it in the middle of all the frustration and just settling with stopping at v1.6. I'll try it tomorrow and see how it goes.

Just an FYI for people struggling with the economy in this game: keep in mind that this is a SPACE TRADING game foremost. While it's certainly possible to play it as a space shooter (and profit), you still need to be mindful of the supply and demand situation if you want any ships to actually get built. For that reason, it is critical to have at least a few ships auto-trading to the station you want to build and re-supply at, and you should do that earlier rather than later (this is especially true for engine parts).
i have installed the game and have all the DLC installed but every time i try to load the game it freeze on loadup at 58% anyone know a fix to this i try all sorts of thing to get it running but noughten working i even tryed redownload and reinstall with no luck. i checked all drivers clean uninstalled them with DDU and installed them again. i really want to try the game out before i buy it but i;m not buying the game if the game is so screewed it won't load.

You're not getting the updates, because the game is broken and, honestly, nobody gives a shit. Buy it and wait 4 years or bust. This game breaks down after 30 to 50 hrs of play time, even with the recent patches. It's a scam. So either you buy it or forget it.
Works perfectly fine for me. Economy used to be broken but that's been patched for a while now. I'm even nearing a full week of ingame time. Been using that same save since release.

I ve restarted my game 5 times now , currently on 1.32 and every fucking time i ran into a game breaking bug (they claim they fix xenon war and the economy breaking? Fuck no they did not) i literally had exactly that happen in a new save game with the xenon war quest starter bugging out completely and the entire economy breaking down in no time. Other shit they claimed to have fixed is either still broken, or just opened a new problem.These guys are just failures. Ive been playing their games for over a decade and its always the same...the community has to fix their shit with mods in the end. Im not buying their shit anymore, i pirate it and check if its again a fucking desaster i give it fair chance of over 50 hours already...and its FUCKED.

Sadly that is how most companies ship their games lately, i would suggest to forget about the game for at-least 2 months and then check it again to see if they fixed most of it. I am still waiting for pathfinder kingmaker game to be stable but they still seem to be patching it almost every 2 weeks etc.

even with a fixed economy its fake and cheesed by NIVIDIUM mining. You basically make all money that is worth talking about in a short time with only 1 or 2 auto miners, while your other traders are fighting over scraps and behave retarded even if assigned to a station manager with some skill points in management. Also the universe size is a JOKE compared to earlier X games...only about 50 systems.....X3 AP had 150. Btw that is exactly how it has been in X3 from the start until they nerfed Nividium or make it untradeable. After that u cheesed the game by simply selling the ship containing a full load of NIVIDIUM getting all the money it was worth + cargo. I financed a fleet of Capital Ships, Destroyers etc and about 200 traders with that :p

I did that and nothing. then I decided to check the Steam_emu file like I do in all games and I found this (Game data is stored at %SystemDrive%\Users\Public\Documents\Steam\CODEX\392160) so I looked there and I found out that the Documents folder in public was missing so I made that and did the rest \steam\CODEX\392160 and it worked so the game would not launch because there was no folder there, btw every program I've used automatically makes a folder so that is why I did not expect this at first. Actually, all of Egosoft's games go through this cycle of patches upon release and later come good for the most part. X2 and X3 were no different, the only thing that's changed is gamers are more impatient and cannot handle bugs. It's not like classic games were free of bugs, either, not to mention games these days are much more complex. Is X4 too buggy to play? In its current state and in my opinion, it is. BUT, they will fix it and I will come back to it later and buy it when its in a much better state. I do however sympathise with anyone who bought it and expected a polished game, as that has never really been an experience with any of the X games. One thing that never changes though is the awkward voice acting and dialogue lines, storylines and animations, etc. Those have always been a bit 'quirky' and is unfortunately typical of most German games (remember Gothic?) that reach Western audiences. But if you love the genre you owe it to yourself to have a bit of patience and keep in touch with its development over time. It might take them a year but it will come good.
I mean, Egosoft has done this kind of launch behavior since the beginning. I can understand to people new to the company but to expect anything different is kind of shooting yourself in the foot. I got Rebirth on launch, despite thousands of hours in X3, I did enjoy it for what it was -- a very different game. X4 is now a return to it's roots and that doesn't mean they could just copy and paste X3 over... That being said I enjoyed my 50 or so hours so far into the game to see what there is at this point and will just have to wait for more significant patches to play more.

Can you elaborate on what's so wrong with the game? Telling us "it sucks" isn't a good enough reason for me to avoid it. I played X3 religiously for many years and I still go back to it every now and then for a fresh playthrough at building a space empire. No other space sim has ever come close to the depth that Egosoft brings to their titles, or at least the depth they brought to X3. Gimme specifics, dude. Why should I skip this?
You shouldn't skip it entirely, just maybe wait a bit. It's what Valkerion said, it'll be fun in parts but infuriating in others. They have had launch issues with every X game in memory and it takes around a year or so for things to come good and develop to a much more fun and stable state. That said, if you are able to consider this STILL in development and not a final product, that you are playing a Beta... then it's alright for a few hours at a time. But if you want a solid experience start-to-finish, best to wait a few months then come back.
A good way to tell is to look at the patch notes from recent patches. You'll find huge, long lists, filled with fixes, changes of every size and some entirely new features. They generally keep this kind of pace up, after ~6 months or so, it really adds up. They do what they do for the love of the genre and of the people who would have nothing in the genre if not for them. If you don't like the game, ask for a refund, if you can't ask for a refund because you're literally stealing it from them and then crying up a storm about how it's disappointed you, then you're a disgusting human being. It's not a huge stretch though to just be respectful. Gaming companies these days giving 12 year olds the impression that their opinions are valuable is a fad that has to end soon.

Nop when you new start on 1.30 is main quest broken. That a bug from update 1.30 when you must defense a ship to escort out of sector. And i have test it you need 1.31 and 1.32 update from codex. i have update 1.32 from codex and not helpful when you not have 1.31 update from codex. And 1.30 have many broken things

Someone started this preorder crap way back and now it's biting the customers in the ass at every release from developers as acceptable broken wares to be fixed later. The customers end up thinking and hoping it will be fixed to play as intended. This is no longer acceptable. I used to buy them, but stopped buying broken games for that reason. Anyone that says buy it, screw you.
Similarly as others on launch, unfortunately. Keep in touch with its development but its still very rocky and needed another six months at least, like most of their games have been on launch. That said, they will patch it to come good eventually. Just need patience until then. But it's not worth playing yet unless you can force yourself to think of it as a Beta.
Yep, same core mechanics, updated graphics. It feels a bit (to me) like a mix of X3 and Rebirth. There's still station walking but you can also use teleporters to take you to sections quickly - when they work. I have to walk to trade centres and ship dealers else I get stuck. Oh, and you can fly every ship again, which is much better than the single ship lock-in of Rebirth. But the storyline, voice acting, character models and animations are all somewhat iffy as per their other games. It's essentially a 6.5/10 diamond in the rough that is currently maybe a 4/10.

Thanks for the update. Man, the AI in this game sucks balls. My pilots constantly get stuck in stations. Makes auto trading/escorting basically unusable. I whish they'd fix THAT.

They have lost all my trust in releasing functional software with rebirth, they promised not to do that again, and shit on the customer by releasing this broken fucking mess. The core functionalities of this game (just like any other X game) are broken on release. Pathfinding, Collision system, Economy, Quests, Save Crashes, Save Game corruptions, Load game crashes, shitty fps drops in asteroid regions on high end pcs, Clipping into objects and getting stuck all the fucking time. THIS IS SHITWARE, and they had the option to go closed beta or early access instead they do the usual thing, fuck over the customer and hope he has patience for the next FIVE years of patching. i know the file is 19k but that file is for a torrent link (used with program like qtorrent or utorrent) to download actual file which is 7g, and needs 16g to install.

1.10 update bugged all my game =( But i tried 1.10 update for codex version with game codex version installed. It bugged all my game, so ive to re install. I choose install now gog version (1.0) :D Are those updates (1.10 and 1.20) working for gog versions? If its bugged like as for codex i don't recomment anyone install the updates...
Codex and gog not compatible. And not use 1.10 have fucking more bugs than this update and thanks for 1.20 update on steam works for buy and me really better. And Gog version have alot of bugs and no bugfixes for that. GOG suckz
it works for me no crashes so far but thats about all ...the game itself is a horrible slog to get anything done...the UI is a different flavour of terrible compared to the older X games . They managed to make station module scanning even worse than rebirth. I flew around hours around a station trying to scan all modules and only got up to 50% intel. Theres no fucking indication on where to position yourself to get a scan of a module and its totally rng to get an update it seems. Also they kept the bloody ship modes which is the most fucking annoying thing ever. Instead of having all your functions available you have to switch modes all the time and cant fast travel while scanning. At least they have proper (sort of ) UI scaling slider for high res and u can read the fonts on 4k which is great. Trying to use the map with scaled UI is fucking horrible, all the descriptions popping up constantly obstruct your view. And the map itself is also just atrocious...no idea how people could find this so much better than rebirth. Perfomance on 4k ultra is good even only on a 1080 (not TI ). CPU is 6 core coffee lake @ 5ghz. Docking only works if you have cockpit enabled, if you turn cockpit off you wont see the indicator hud to dock properly. (also fucking stupid). The stole some shit from Elite and did a shitty version of those mechanics themselves. Station interiors are still fugly as hell, npcs look like made by a computer art student in his second year, same with animations. Where is the bloody command console to give explore orders and drop satellites to my ship so i dont have to fly around a sector to explore it manually all the fucking time? And i highly doubt this game will be as mod friendly as the old X games and even if so it will be very limited in what can be done.
Saving, or dying will crash the game.But it save's normally.Turn down glow to save fps, also if you have a intel GPU it will use that as the main.Can't change it.Have to switch to desktop if you want too, I'm running on a intel HD on med settings and getting stable FPS though.
egosoft continues to focus on the ego alone and it will be hard for them to get many modders for this game when there are already so many space simulation games who are already decent and compared to x and x2 times there isnt any need for their trash games who didnt learn a lesson today but instead they should take a look at themselves and reflect of how much of a failure they are

I mean, Egosoft kind of did this before Early Access was a term. It was like that for X3 and Rebirth. Their games are always missing things and full of bugs on launch. Love them anyways. To each their own.

I't recommend everyone to only download this as a "trial". The game has serious gameplay and other bugs and while it works stable on my system (Windows 8.1, i7-8700K, GTX 1080) there are enough people where it just doesn't work. Nothing new here though, Egosoft is kinda known to push out games in a very buggy state, but they're also known to fix these bugs until the game is very much playable. So again, only download this to get an idea of what kind of game it will be when it's fixed. Don't expect a finished game!
Ohhh damn i am so excited,but cant wait,will try now.I was a big fan of the first X-Game,but after that, they quite disappointed me(especially X-Rebirth was disastrous at least for me).Now this part is kinda back to the roots(thats what i did read in game-magazine) + they maybe integrated giving commands on a map(like RTS games)which i always thought is needed in the x-games.Of course you have to earn the money and buy the tools to use this function.But i would luv this combination 4X-Game with RTS-Way to give orders/ command/build.I hope they realized(and hopefully good) it in this game.

Constantly crashing (or not even starting), needs multiple fixes, Vulkan SDK and it's utterly random whether it will run smooth on a 970 or have 20fps on a 1080
While the idea of piloting small ships to biggest ships has been around, a more appealing one would be to introduce AI PC characters you can selectively control as a teaam rather than you, alone, piloting it. As far as X series goes, it's never been the case. Too bad. Was looking forward to play a game as such.
Honestly, I would wait at least a month - seems there are LOTS of bugs/issues. Already a hotfix released - but I would give this title more time to be polished/patched (so maybe even 3 months (and hope IGG keeps up with the updates that will surely be incoming). So I think the only reason to grab it now would be to get an idea of how well it might run on your system (though I am sure they will spend some more time optimizing it as time progresses) - but it sure sounds like you don't want to seriously invest time into a run through right at this point.
I realize that- IGG are simply distributors. I am basically saying it looks like the game is in need of quite a lot of work, so I wouldn't bother with a zero-day release of it now if you want to play it seriously. Best to wait on it till it gets patched a lot more.
Just download it now - it either will work for you or not, some people have had no problems at all, if theirs issue, keep it installed, check back later for update

Performance atm is hit or miss, some people on not too great hardware with it running fine, others with titans getting 20 fps. who knows, random bugs id assume. Decent amount of people can't even play the game as it crashes to desktop on start Though they did just release a patch that fixes some crashes, so maybe that'll fix that issue.

You have 2 options here, you can continue to play the 6.20 version without the DLC since it's non-compatible, or you can delete the game and re-install the original and don't apply the 6.20 update. Hope this helped you. Sorry it didn't fix your problem....or mine. 🤷♀

I actually had no issues with the install... But here's what you can do.
When you download the updates make sure you extract the contents in the rar archive to a location, and NOT double-click the update.exe from winrar. That would result in error.
Update the game in order.

If you are receiving an error for hash sum mismatch you might be installing the wrong update, or the is file corrupted.
For any other errors or crashes that occur all i can suggest, run the game before the 2.00 patch. they patched a fair amount of issues in 2.00 and may need to be launched for the game to recognize some changes before moving onto the next patch. just a speculation

Replace C: with the drive name. This should convert the disk without any data loss :)

and 1.31 can i not test i have no upload premium account or share-online premium account for download it and test it, he have more than 2 GB
so I looked there and I found out that the Documents folder in public was missing so I made that and did the rest \steam\CODEX\392160 and it worked so the game would not launch because there was no folder there, btw every program I've used automatically makes a folder so that is why I did not expect this at first.

Is X4 too buggy to play? In its current state and in my opinion, it is. BUT, they will fix it and I will come back to it later and buy it when its in a much better state. I do however sympathise with anyone who bought it and expected a polished game, as that has never really been an experience with any of the X games.
One thing that never changes though is the awkward voice acting and dialogue lines, storylines and animations, etc. Those have always been a bit 'quirky' and is unfortunately typical of most German games (remember Gothic?) that reach Western audiences. But if you love the genre you owe it to yourself to have a bit of patience and keep in touch with its development over time. It might take them a year but it will come good.

That said, if you are able to consider this STILL in development and not a final product, that you are playing a Beta... then it's alright for a few hours at a time. But if you want a solid experience start-to-finish, best to wait a few months then come back.
They generally keep this kind of pace up, after ~6 months or so, it really adds up. They do what they do for the love of the genre and of the people who would have nothing in the genre if not for them.
If you don't like the game, ask for a refund, if you can't ask for a refund because you're literally stealing it from them and then crying up a storm about how it's disappointed you, then you're a disgusting human being.
It's not a huge stretch though to just be respectful. Gaming companies these days giving 12 year olds the impression that their opinions are valuable is a fad that has to end soon.
Also, no reason to be so high and mighty here. You're on a game piracy site just like the rest of us. Personally, I like to try games before I buy them because game demos aren't really a thing most developers do anymore. I have an older rig so I first need to make sure my computer can handle it before I drop $60 on a game that may or may not even run for me. And obviously I want to see if I will like the game at all. Of course this isn't really justification for stealing, but whatever. I still buy games if I like them. For what it's worth I never "cried up a storm" or anything like you're suggesting.

Oh, and you can fly every ship again, which is much better than the single ship lock-in of Rebirth. But the storyline, voice acting, character models and animations are all somewhat iffy as per their other games. It's essentially a 6.5/10 diamond in the rough that is currently maybe a 4/10.

Man, the AI in this game sucks balls. My pilots constantly get stuck in stations. Makes auto trading/escorting basically unusable. I whish they'd fix THAT.

Pathfinding, Collision system, Economy, Quests, Save Crashes, Save Game corruptions, Load game crashes, shitty fps drops in asteroid regions on high end pcs, Clipping into objects and getting stuck all the fucking time. THIS IS SHITWARE, and they had the option to go closed beta or early access instead they do the usual thing, fuck over the customer and hope he has patience for the next FIVE years of patching.
And what is it with the person who makes the UI for this game, how do you actually come up with these retarded, contrived and inaccesible fucking garbage menus, not put in a decent overview and direct command console, not have economy stats page, and everything else that is necessary to manage a 4X game? Fuck this barebone pre-alpha shit man.
Edit: Just tested, you only need the update from this site and works perfectly with the version from IGG.
