Is the file size less than 5 MB? Did you get the file directly, or have you used an exe? If the answer to any of the questions is yes, you downloaded an ad. Please try downloading the files again and make sure you get the correct ones.
Okay since the last person who was having the issue with steam didn't put how he fixed it, I'll do it go to the banner saga folder after you install it and delete the steam.dll? and then you shouldn't have the issue anymore :)
I try to play it, but then it says steam cannot initialize it and it quits. Edit: I fixed it. edit 2: I think It was because I hadn't cracked it yet, but at this point, it's been a long enough time that I legitimately don't remember.
