I have to ask why the first collection is so big in file size. I know there is additional content, but the first three games were originally SNES games, and even as a PS1 game, X4 was about 500 MB, right?
X3 was also on the PlayStation AND on PC. All Megaman X games had PC releases, though X1 is a DOS game, and X2 was a Win 95 game, but is very hard to find. FTR, the soundtrack for X3 is completely different on PS1 and PC, and patches exist for playing the CD soundtrack on the SNES version via emulators.

Yes, Its the installer, not the game, a have same problem with other games from skidrow, the installer not works., but repacks like "El Amigos" work fine.

i tried this on the 1st collection and it improved the speed by a real little bit not by much. tried it on the 2nd collection and it improved more than the 1st collection
This game is basically a fuck fest, they made a tat for tat shitty emulators to run roms exactly as they were, less than 30fps and slowdowns, no reconfigurable controls, 36 bux everybody kek
"no reconfigurable controls" I'm not sure what game you're playing, but I've had no issues changing my controls both in game, and in the challenge mode. I don't like the dash being on "B" so I moved it to the left bumper on my Xbox One controller.
Huh weird, couldn't find it at first, but still, the reconfig is very limited for keyboard, so sticking to my case :) i know you'll say this is a free game and everything, but the roms are also for free, and run better than this fuck up.
No, actually won't say "it's free" and so on because it's only free if you choose to steal it. The people that pay for this game have the same issues in the end, and $30 - $40 per collection is highway robbery.
