From doing some googling, it appears this bug only happens with pirated copies. so whoever did the cracking for this patch fucked up because I've downloaded past versions with no issues at all.

Hey everyone. i just got a message from Reddit.com. Cities Skylines 2 has a specific release date, the game will released to players starting in October 24th, 2023 this year. It will include 150 tiles both in-game (with suitable outside connections for roads, highways, waterways, etc with unlimitable too) and editors, sandbox mode, more than thousands of disasters related to natural disasters (i.e three types of storms, landslides, cloudbursts, microbursts, blizards, volcano eruptions, etc), events, and such more features and changes here. I hope we will have fun playing on this sequel guys. :)
If the game crashed and the error.log file says "KERNELBASE.dll caused an Unknown exception type", it might be because your system or anti virus software deleted the "steam_api64.dll" file
Does anybody know how to fix this? It goes onto an infinite loading screen when making a new game. I extracted part 1 and 2 into the same folder like intended. Any fix?

If your game crashes you must create a page in order to fix the crash. Creating a page fixes the game crashing 100% i did to confirm and it works! Thank god The crashing is finally fixed! OK for everyone that is having issues with City Skylines sadly it's from the DLC's I found a general rule they are going by but most of us can only run a few DLC's before sooner or later a crash occurs it happens later when there are more assets on screen and the game starts using huge amounts of memory ok here is the list- As an average rule of thumb for Asset/DLC} 8GB RAM: Base game 16GB RAM: Base game + 100 assets, 1-2 DLC's 32GB RAM: Base game + 500 assets, 5-10 DLC's 64GB RAM: Base game + 2000 assets, 15 DLC's 128GB RAM: Base game + 4000 assets, All DLC's !? ---> Keep in mind that an asset with a large mesh can easy fill up your RAM e.g. skyscrapers!
Now the best way to play City Skylines with no crashes is to set up a page here is the steam link i don't know i haven't set it up yet myself. I may just uninstall this crappily made game. The game is so much fun when it works and if the developer wasn't such a greedy miser with NO DLC's and everything that's in the DLC's would of just been in the game with no issues. How can this dev really think people will buy part 2 when he can't get part 1 to run correctly? I've been playing a month now and i love this game I really hope part 2 fixes these issues. Fun game yes but NO way would i pay for a game that even charges for the DLC's that really should of been part of the original game for free. I got this game for free thru epic games and playing it without the DLC's it's a really bare bones game. I'm finding the games issues to be a really big disappointment! Hey the page thing works! 100% i finally got the crashing thing to totally stop! I also did turn down my graphics just to be on the safe side but i don't think it's even needed but i like how fast the game is and there really isnt that much difference so i'll keep everything the way it is. Just follow the directions it's really very very easy all your doing is using the room on one of your drives to act as added memory I used double my actual memory 16gb ram so i used 32gb on my H: drive but you can use as much as you want. I figured it out and i was able to get my saved game to play. 1st what a pain in the AZZ!!!! The best and easy way is to give you the site i went to i had to go into task manager and close all background programs that were taking up large amounts of resources i had none but what i did have was tons and tons of low and very low programs that i didn't even knew was running like chrome then i turned everything down in the graphics i put everything from high to mostly low and like one or two to medium. it also said that the DLC mods can cause crashes but i found no way to turn them off as we don't use steam. Then i restarted my game and it worked when i went in to turn the graphics up yup it crashed so my Nvidia gtx 1060 that seems to handle games like starfield, star citizen and graphic intensive games for some reason can't handle this game at high levels I bet you have the same issue! It's not your hardware! It's the game! It only crashes the game! The game just stops then i have to hit shift, ctrl, delete and bring up task manager and stop the locked game it either just crashes shut or it will just stop responding. I know we all have game crashes after a certain amount of time or when your city gets to a big size the only thing that fixes my game is i just copy the files over the old ones from the download i saved. I would say just download the game and save it in a folder when your game crashes just go into the saved download and copy the files over the old game i mean all the files don't delete anything and the game will work again! I have the same issue too i have an intel i7 10800 16gb ram ddr4 Nvidia GTX 1060 video card i had the game 1st on a D: drive but moved it to E: drive which is an SSD 2 TB internal drive. I tried everything and only reinstalling the game seems to work for me. I think when they copied the game they missed something. I also got this for free on epic games but it's just the basic game it never crashes some of the DLC's could cause a crash but without the DLC's the game isn't as good! I can play for 5 minutes with mods and then it will crash. And I watch a tutorial for page file and I change the page file size. I download it from Skidrow and there is the same problem. I was playing well in the past but now with this updates something is broken maybe a mod or something, but I can't play without mods. I will try to see I can play without mods and what mods is broken

i dont think it mod. the only mod i have on are unlimited resource which is a game mod that included in game. but you can try my method and extract file and see if you can play for longer than 5 mins.

I have intel integrated graphics, but why it won't work??? When I ran it, it said there is not enough space on disk. BUT THERE'S NO ENOUGH SPACE ON C: I DOWNLOADED IT ON D: . Then I deleted rubbish and i got 6gb free storage, then I ran it and AGAIN NO SPACE, I looked at space AND THERE'S 6KB FREE. Then I done same thing again and there was 4gb free and AGAIN SAME THING. WHAT IS HAPPENING?
I click on the game icon made by Codex, but it only opens the game for a split second and then it stops. I had my antivirus and firewall turned off for the installation process, and I copied the Codex files into the directory. Any help?
ugh, like anyother crack, the crack package comes with a folder named codex copy whats inside to your game folder, or simply during instalation PAY ATTENTION and click the COPY CODEX INTO GAME DIRECTORY
I keep getting a checksum error when trying to unpack the two .rar files. Downloaded from both the google drive and the megaup, same error. Also tried using the http://mega.nz files, the first of which failed to download due to some error.

Find the desired mod at this site (or any other source you find reliable) and download it.
Unpack mod file(s)/folder(s) to appropriate location (see instructions below).
Restart the game, so that it can load new items.
Navigate to Content Manager from the game’s main menu and enable desired items. Do you have a more precise explaination for the steam method, do you need to transfer all the cracked files into the steam cities skylines directory? Does it work if you leave the files out? Step 1: Download part 1 and 2 Step 2: Open the iso files and run the setup Step 3: There should be a file named CODEX in the download folder. Find where you installed the game and move everything in the CODEX there. Step 4: Open the game.

Just wanted to add a little note. You don't need 8GB dedicated. If you can find a way to use 100% of your ram for city skylines it should work just fine but I mean that's more effort than it's worth. I run it on 5 GB but that's only because the other 3 is for other stuff apparently idk ram isn't my area of expertise

There's very little difference between f7 and f8. The cities.exe file is exactly the same, for example. Just a couple of dll's are different, I presume they contain parameters that were changed for balance reasons.
So I got the game to work, However when loading the map it loads about 90% Then crashes however i'm unaware if it's because of my computer i'm running on 12gb of ram an I5 processor and no dedicated GPU. Perhaps it's because the developers installed some sort of hidden anti piracy measure? I have seen it before in Grand Theft Auto games where the game is unplayable when downloaded in the same way.

Sunset Harbor is so fucked up, is full of bugs and I noticed because in my saved game I started to loose money in a range of 20000 to 40000 in taxes and verified it when I looked in my transport income and expenditure taxes, here the proof. The first one is from Sunset Harbor and the second is from Modern City. Its worst because of the industries, I had an income of 60000 to 80000 max and now I'm losing in range of 10000 to 30000.
If you all receive an error because of too much people downloading on google drive, put the files on your drive on your account and make a copy of them, them rename them with the original files's name and download from your drive, if you keep receiving the error its cuz you either didnt copy or you tried to download the wrong file.
They probably just updated the site for industries, which previously was parklife, the download says modern city center as well. Just didn't want to create another city skylines site I guess
This game makes my pc freezes and crash but in other games like GPU hungry games DBZ Kakarot, Overwatch, and MHW i got no issues at all it's just this game.

how do install a multi part game?, whenever i try installing a multi part game it always opens steam but when i try a single part game it always works. also what is the difference between the 2 parts they look the same
You only need to extract Part 1, then run the setup and apply the crack if the setup doesn't do it for you. To apply crack you drag the files from the crack folder into the games directory. Also make sure your antivirus is off or it will delete the crack files and you will have to re-download the entire files all over again.
The game doesn't have an addon folder. If you want to install mods, you'll need to go to the files folder then you'll see a mod folder, then install the mods in the folder.
Game crashes after opening a new map for me. Plus, part 2 can't be extracted. Tried with 3 links, i have the 1,3gb file but when I extract it the files are 0 - 6kb weight.
Is the game broken? It takes forever to create a new map and if it does load without crashing, you can't do anything because of the lag. I have pretty decent PC and had different copy of the game that ran well. So i'm pretty sure that it should not lag like that.

clik ont part one then press control and click on part 2, then right click and hit extract files or extract all. then the file will extract. Double click the disk image file inside and run the setup, then check "copy codex to imnstalldir" then hit install

does the program it self not open, or does your pc run it in the background? cuz in the last case i would recommend to extract the whole file to a folder on ur desktop. in the first case i would try the same thing and run it in admin. :)

Maybe he's talking also about Virtual Memory where after ram is 100% used it starts to write data on hdd or ssd to use it as ram but slower.Maybe he got 16gb and found it.Game is Ram eater cause i tested it a lot and 8gb ram is too small amount for it.
I do have 16 and i just think the requirements shown are likely from the base version before the dlc and all their new assets. this version last time i tried used around 10 gb just for getting in the map.

When I try to open the .rar from the Megaup link it errors and says "The archive is either in unknown format or damaged". Not sure why this is happening?
I had the same at first, was a naming issue for me..... Rename the first zip file to match the second but with a 1 and not a 2. Open (extract) the first and you should be good.
This game after Campus DLC is broken or maybe only crack is broken. I have Intel Core i7-9800X, GTX 1080 Ti, 16 GB ram and i must play it on lowest details and still I have 40-50 FPS in city with 40K population.
Try reinstalling the game. Make sure you extract part 1 and 2 into the same folder and copy all the contents from CODEX into the newly created Cities Skylines folder (usually located in the Program Files x86 folder). When asked to choose between replacing the Steam api files or not, click the replacing option. Hope this helps.
How can I get mods for the cracked version is it possible to still download them through the steam workshop or is there an alternate source to download the mods from?
Since this is a cracked game it doesn't actually work with Steam Client, so no downloading mods from steam workshop. The way I get around this is to use a "steam workshop downloader", which spoofs the steam workshop and downloads a zip file. Find the mod you want on Steam Workshop and copy the URL and paste it into the downloader. You just need to unzip/unpack them and put the mods files in the correct folders.
Mods that affect the way the game runs go to the [CitySkylines]/Files/Mods/ dir. Just make sure that each mod has it's own folder under the Mods folder, also some folder names need to be renamed to the .dll name used in the mod to work correctly (ex. NetworkExtensions2). Mods that are Assets go to [UserName]/AppData/Local/Colosal Order/Cities_Skylines/Addons/ dir.
So I am getting the same thing, run with Admin and goes to Steam. I am confused as to how to crack this as there was no process showing how to crack. What files do I use, do I have to download them and if so where are they. Once I have these files where do I put them? I have seen people say the Install .dir but where is that? what folder is this located in? The instructions are not all that clear at all. Even in the Read me it does not explain anything.
After installing the game, go back to the folder that had the setup.exe that you used to install the game. There should be a folder, go inside that folder and copy all the contents (there should be a file called steam.emu) you find there to the game folder that has the game.exe file (where you installed the game to).

Yeah you download and all the dlc before industries too. There are other games because with the more dlc you add you might get lower performance on your machine. Or you just don't want a dlc and you want a older version.
Did you download an exe file? When opening the exe, did you get a rar file, or am I missing something? If the above is true, you downloaded an ad, make sure you get the correct file.

How to Uninstall Individual DLC? yes you read right i want disable/uninstall few DLC which i feel useless, so it can free some of my PC's RAM usage, as this game with these all DLC use about full 8gb RAM without mods
actually, good news, i found the way to choose, in the game folder steam_emu.ini file (may be something related file name), you can completely disable all dlc or you can add dlc by individual steam id of that dlc. enjoy :)

I've been playing on my map for about 4hours then i saved, then when i started my game my ''load game'' button was grey and the game could not find any saved game but when i go to AppData\Local\Colossal Order\Cities_Skylines\Saves, the save file is still there, someone got the same problem?
It all works fine(no lag, nothing), but it's using 100% of my gpu... and just as a measure of comparison, I'm running Rainbow 6 with only 25%, so why that ? had same problem on "Surviving Mars"
You need to copy the crack folder called CODEX and then copy whatsever inside it and then paste it in the downloaded file. Replace anything that is already there.
I get nothing from the industries dlc. no roads no buildings only the toll booths. Paradox will update the game but IGG i think you need to update this too and get the latest update from paradox :)
The Industrial Roads, both small 1-way or 2-way and the medium 2-way 4 lane are found in the map editor ONLY. In-game they aren't found. The toll booths work perfectly. Any building/asset from Industries DLC though can't be found. The cargo airport & airport hub or any other buildings are NOT there. I don't know what's wrong I did everything it's asked to properly install the crack. Paradox has updated the Industries DLC to fix any problems regarding to mods and the DLC itself.

Just wanted to put it out here. Games works great i don't know why people complain played it for 9h straight no problems at all. I have download the game via google drive, when u extract the file first start with part 1, then find your part 2 rar or what ever you use Winrar or 7-Zip. You find the crack in the ISO, i use to open ISO the program called "PowerISO", i'm not sure if u need it in this day and age but i still use it. To Install the game just use "DAEMON Tools". When installed go to game ISO and find the folder in it called "CODEX" copy whats in it and paste it in your game where the game.exe is. If u don't know where u have install it just right click on your game, go to properties, then you just go to "Open File Location" and copy your crack there. If u can't find "Open File Location" try to find it in other tabs, for me its Shortcut on Windows 10. I didn't use the other windows os in a long time so i can't tell you if its the same. I'm not the best teacher so maybe if u don't get it watch some Youtube videos that explain much better. Thanks for reading, hope it helped some of you newbie's :)

yeah i have the same problem, I always tought it was a mod fucking the game up but after deleting every single one of my mods it still is like that, empty -Edit: I redownloaded the game and the industries was working the tabs weren't empty anymore, so after hours of testing which mod was causing the issue.... hold and behold it was the loading screen mod disable that mod and the industries tab should not be empty anymore

Where exactly is the crack in the folder located? I can't find it and I copied and pasted the insides of the codex to where I put the game file. So where is the crack folder and where do i put it in the game?
The Cities Skylines Parklife version "1.10.0-f3" is working perfectly, but the update patch for version "1.10.1-f3" is corrupted. An error occurs in the middle of the installation. Currently the version of Traffic Manager: President Edition will not work on this version "1.10.0-f3", so is necessary a correction of the "Parklife Update Patch - 1.10.1-f3" or temporarily an older version of TMPE.
Yep, the game works perfect without the patch, anyway I recommend downloading the Cities Skylines Deluxe Edition that is already updated "1.10.1-f3" and compatible with Traffic Manager: President Edition.

Yeah I got a solution. First reinstall the game because when the game crashes, some files disappear. After reinstalling the game (I have McAfee security) turn off real time scanning as well as your firewall. I dont know if you have to do this every time you play but it worked for me. Cheers!

The setup wont work. I open it and all it does is show up on the task bar with the codex logo. No window shows up. I have to use task manager to close it. I dont have my antivirus when I start it. This happens with every codex cracked game for me

And then where to put the mods? I'm really new to this, and not just the game but in general it's my first time so I get really confused. When I tried placing it in the mods folder with the in game mods for unlimited money, soil etc, it doesn't seem to be working, or if it does, there's an error. Am I missing something or should there be a separate folder for this? I've been reading up and I tried but I really don't know if I'm looking at the wrong folders because I can't seem to find it.

you need to crack it you dont just download and run after you install in the file there should be a folder with some files that might include steam api.dll or something like that, just drag it into the folder and then try it if it still doesnt work just comment again and i might be able to help you better
Hi, I'm having the same problem. Is there a specific subfolder I have to put the crack files in? Because for me just putting them in the game's main folder doesn't do anything.

Now the best way to play City Skylines with no crashes is to set up a page here is the steam link i don't know i haven't set it up yet myself. I may just uninstall this crappily made game. The game is so much fun when it works and if the developer wasn't such a greedy miser with NO DLC's and everything that's in the DLC's would of just been in the game with no issues. How can this dev really think people will buy part 2 when he can't get part 1 to run correctly? I know we all have game crashes after a certain amount of time or when your city gets to a big size the only thing that fixes my game is i just copy the files over the old ones from the download i saved. I would say just download the game and save it in a folder when your game crashes just go into the saved download and copy the files over the old game i mean all the files don't delete anything and the game will work again!
I have the same issue too i have an intel i7 10800 16gb ram ddr4 Nvidia GTX 1060 video card i had the game 1st on a D: drive but moved it to E: drive which is an SSD 2 TB internal drive. I tried everything and only reinstalling the game seems to work for me. I think when they copied the game they missed something.
I also got this for free on epic games but it's just the basic game it never crashes some of the DLC's could cause a crash but without the DLC's the game isn't as good!

HOW TO INSTALL MODS
Install manually:
For Cities: Skylines mods and assets can be stored in user data, game installation directory and Steam Workshop downloads directory. If you want to install mods manually, we recommend the first location since it should not be affected if you decide to temporarily uninstall the game or move it to another library.
User data directory for Cities: Skylines is located at C:\Users%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Colossal Order\Cities_Skylines. Consider all other paths in the guide from this directory.
Place mods under Addons/Mods/. It should look like this: Addons/Mods/Example Mod/ExampleMod.dll (mod’s directory name doesn’t really matter).
Place maps under Maps/. It should look like this: Maps/ExampleMap.crp. Alternatively, you can copy directory with .crp file.
Place assets under Addons/Assets/. It should look like this: Addons/Assets/Example Asset/ExampleAsset.crp.
Place game saves under Saves/. It should look like this: Saves/ExampleSaveGame.crp.
Install via Steam:
Wait until files are downloaded (make sure your Steam app is running and has access to the Internet).
This method is the simplest and more preferable. Steam app will keep your mods updated and synchronize subscriptions between your devices.
Thats what I did and it worked
Just move everything in the CODEX folder into the games directory
Step 2: Open the iso files and run the setup
Step 3: There should be a file named CODEX in the download folder. Find where you installed the game and move everything in the CODEX there.
Step 4: Open the game.

Plus, part 2 can't be extracted. Tried with 3 links, i have the 1,3gb file but when I extract it the files are 0 - 6kb weight.
Extracting part 2 manually will not work.

Mods are working fine, but When I put my assets in Assets folder nothing appear.
I am confused as to how to crack this as there was no process showing how to crack. What files do I use, do I have to download them and if so where are they. Once I have these files where do I put them? I have seen people say the Install .dir but where is that? what folder is this located in?

Paradox will update the game but IGG i think you need to update this too and get the latest update from paradox :)
The toll booths work perfectly.
Any building/asset from Industries DLC though can't be found.
The cargo airport & airport hub or any other buildings are NOT there. I don't know what's wrong I did everything it's asked to properly install the crack. Paradox has updated the Industries DLC to fix any problems regarding to mods and the DLC itself.
The crack is in the CODEX folder in the iso.

Games works great i don't know why people complain played it for 9h straight no problems at all. I have download the game via google drive, when u extract the file first start with part 1, then find your part 2 rar or what ever you use Winrar or 7-Zip.
You find the crack in the ISO, i use to open ISO the program called "PowerISO", i'm not sure if u need it in this day and age but i still use it. To Install the game just use "DAEMON Tools". When installed go to game ISO and find the folder in it called "CODEX" copy whats in it and paste it in your game where the game.exe is.
If u don't know where u have install it just right click on your game, go to properties, then you just go to "Open File Location" and copy your crack there. If u can't find "Open File Location" try to find it in other tabs, for me its Shortcut on Windows 10. I didn't use the other windows os in a long time so i can't tell you if its the same.
I'm not the best teacher so maybe if u don't get it watch some Youtube videos that explain much better.
