If anyone is having trouble with their controller being detected, make sure steam is closed first. Mine wasn't being detected properly, then I realised Steam was running and closed it. Works now.

If you have crash problem when opening PC setting or starting a new game. try my steps, at least this steps work for me. Ok first it appears Dark Souls Remastered got a problem with refresh rate below 60hz and above 60hz. I myself playing from my laptop that locked the refresh rate to only 48hz and 120hz. So as you would know Dark Souls Remastered will crash if i go to PC Setting or even start a new game. This steps is works for me and i hope it works to all of you to. So here it is :
Download Custom Resolution Utility, just google it
Run the Custom Resolution Utility app, edit your refresh rate into 60hz and click OK
Run the Restart app, it just take a few seconds in my laptop. And after its done click Exit
Restart your PC/Laptop
Done, now your refresh rate is 60hz and you can play Dark Souls Remastered Dont forget to reset all setting back to the original if you want to play your other games or if you have finished Dark Souls Remastered

You've run out of space on your computer to save the game, perhaps change game location to another disk if you have one or clear up some space on the one that your current gamefolder is on.
the game starts fine, but it's pretty much unplayable since it's in slow motion. I don't think it has anything to do with my hardware since when i tried to regulate settings it got slightly better, but still not the usual experience... What's the cause of this ? alright, i tried it once again, figured out there's a new version for one of my drivers, played with the settings a bit and now it works! I'm already at the Taurus Demon and having so much fun! You guys are THE BEST! BLESS YOU!
When I run the game it is in slow motion, if resolution is turned all the way to lowest setting it is better, ds fix is not doing anything on to resolution, quality, etc.
Well, as there is usually not a way to play online with pirated games, you may be able to play with a private network service, such as Hamachi. Hope this helps.

i mean the pvp is riddled with exploits, you can literally change your level to level 1 via CE so easily so that you can fight lower level people; it's ridiculous, even rpg maker games are harder to use CE in.

Yeah there are. In certain areas of the game, if you are not hollow, you can be invaded by NPC phantoms, it's meant to show you how invasions work. Most of those NPC phantoms have good gear they can drop too. Like the Thorns armor set for example

There should be two folders in the iso file and one of them should be labeled as "CRACK" or the name of the group that cracked the game, inside that folder is all the crack files you put into the games files

Even though your VRAM is equal to the minimum requirements, the GPU listed in it is far more superior than yours. Performance doesn't really rely in how big your VRAM is. If you want to know more about the performance of different GPUs, search for benchmarks on Google.
I haven't downloaded this yet so there may be a different way to do it, but when you download it you should get a .iso file, you open that up and then there should be an installer for the game in one of the folders, probably named setup, and there should be another folder labelled "CRACK," you copy and paste all the files in the crack folder into the games files once you finish installing it and then it should be fine.

That's not even the right solution, you have to install the contents of the crack folder to your game, you know, to crack it. If you don't have the actual solution to a problem, maybe you shouldn't be giving people advice like you're better than them.

Yes, I'm having this issue too. I have modding tools and I've investigated the param files and everything looks correct. Not really sure why it doesn't give the correct amount of souls (or any at all for bosses)
um. not all bosses drop boss souls in Dark Souls. Go google the loot tables of those bosses. Some do and there souls can be crafted into weapons like the other souls games. Ex. Moonlight butterfly will drop "Soul of the Moonlight Butterfly" which can be crafted into Moonlight Butterfly horn.
lol we know that. i played every game in the series except for bloodborne, i remember clearly, getting the asylum demon and stray demon souls. i know i got the taurus demon, and the capra demon. however in remastered i have yet to get a single BOSS SOUL, only humanities and the couple thousand souls for each boss kill. i highly doubt this would be a trick from the devs to get back at people obtaining pirated copies, but it's the only thing i can think of. im in the process of streaming the full playthrough on twitch and im sure everyone has noticed like me that i have not obtained boss souls. im hoping its just a bug.

I was asking a genuine question since DS3 was the latest souls title and that one did drop souls for pretty much every boss, so it'd be understandable to get them confused. Besides, you can't just try and take some imaginary moral high ground now while you're acting like a complete bitch. Maybe if you actually looked at the wiki pages for the bosses and reached a boss that DID drop a specific soul your first two comments would have an actual problem instead of being flat-out wrong.
i do have an actual problem, and i answered your question by saying that it wasnt dark souls 3. i played and beat dark souls 3 over a year ago and it did not have the capra, taurus or asylum demon. it did have the stray demon i believe. so getting the first 3 as boss souls wouldnt have happened even in 3. i clarified that it was a mix up betweent he humanity drops and boss souls. i didnt look up the wiki for a reason. i was confident in my memory of the boss souls at the time. but i know for a fact which bosses drop souls now and i have not recieved any of them. i just said fuck off for the rudeness.
you have to crack the game, do this by dragging the contents of the CODEX directory in the download folder into the installation folder. overwrite files, Also, next time you install there is a checkbox that says "Copy contents of CODEX to install dir" . If you check this box, the installer will do it for you so you dont have to manually apply the crack!
so...most important question to start with: how good is the gamepad support in this version? does it work at all with ds4windows? (for those of us with ps4 controllers)
I know that... But when more than one person says it works people take more notice of it. I will however say that my download did fail at first so maybe if you have quite a slow connection dont try this method but the download failing could have been to do with something else.
Although this method works since it changes the ownership of the file, G-Drive has a limit as to how much data you can copy so it's not a perfect solution
Being the one who has played the game with both Keyboard/Mouse and with a Controller, I'd say it is possible to play and complete the game with keyboard and mouse, albeit at strained fingers due to button placement if your lazy to remap them, and it'll take considerable practice to use it like a pro Frankly after making the switch to a controller, it was alot easier to manage and beat enemies and bosses. Still to each their own
Game keeps xrashing when staring game or going into settings. Resolution is 60, went into file made sure refresh is 60. Game still crashes. Is this a issue with laptops?
IMO, Dark Souls 2 was the worst due to the absolutely unfair enemy scaling/spawning in some areas. It has a cool multiplayer, sure but that doesn't make the world you're in any less shitty. Dark Souls 1 was difficult but enjoyable and Dark Souls 3 was the most balanced, introducing new features that should've been present in the last two games. I played all 3 to death but I personally loved Dark Souls 3 the most because it allows the most variety in gameplay and its fairer than the first two. For those players whining about Dark Souls 3 being too easy, do what I do; Play past NG 7+ using only keyboard and mouse. And yes, that includes killing ALL bosses, from Nameless King to Slave knight Gael.
I'm very glad you guys cracked this for us so quickly. Paying 20$ for this mess of a remaster isn't worth it. At least Bethesda has the decency to release the remastered version of Skyrim for free to all owners of the first copy. make sure you only have one download page tab open at a time, with mega up, opening multiple tabs on the actual download links will slow the download down. make sure you have only one link downloading at a time. as well as making sure you are not watching or streaming videos, or looking at too many browser tabs. minimize all of these instances as much as possible.
