To save, you can copy everything on the Iso file into your own file (consider copying to somewhere with some space to save files). It's because the game is tend to save its file on the same file as the game, and since the ISO file can't have extra space for the save file, you will have to make another file on your pc in order to save the game. the warning that came up everytime you open the game is saying that 'you don't have enough HD disk to save the game file'
you will need to use the locale emulator in order to change that unreadable letters into kanji. Other than that, the warning is saying that you can't save the file and that's because you're saving it inside the ISO file which can't have more space. So consider making a new folder and copy everything in the game file there in order to save the game.
(WINDOWS10) You're probably changing the wrong settings. Try this path -> settings -> language -> admin language settings (right side) -> administrative (tab at the top) -> change system locale (jap obviously). Might need to restart your computer. You'll also want to undo all the incorrect language setting changes you made elsewhere. For the same problem with a different game I had to redownload AND extract the game with the new locale to get rid of the gibberish file names and errors. You'll know you did it right when the previous gibbersih files in the game folder display actual Jap writing.
