thanks for the post, didnt knew i had to crack it to get the game working. For those who are asking how you have go to the Plaza folder and copy the archives inside the Executable folder, then go to the game folder (the one were you installed the game) and paste/replace the archives on the folder also named Executable. Do the same with the Update and you can play the full game
i got the same problem...... i discovered that it happened when you don't crack the game and to do this go to the same icon that you install the game from and open it as a folder then open PLAZA>executable copy every thing in this file and paste it in the same folder name where you install the game and you ready to play it
this is one of the biggest scams ever. its basically the normal shantae game, just with a bit more dlcs. no reduced price for ppl who own the other version, nothing. and not to forget, this game is basically 5 levels, but you have to play each of these 5 levels about 20 times. itsjust backtracking. the original was OKAY at best, but this "hd remake" bullshit is just a scam. fuck you steam for offering this, first game i will fully play but not buy .,|,. dont support these devs.
I think that there's a misunderstanding between you two. Are you talking about the PREVIOUS games(the ones using pixel art), or just "Half-Genie Hero"? If you're talking about Half-Genie Hero, then yeah it's definitely not a remake or a sequel or anything, it's just a compilation of the original game + all of the DLCs released so far. This new Ultimate Edition does have a few new things but they're not too interesting. Kai, i think you are very confused. The last game in the Shantae series was Pirate's Curse, a PIXEL ART game. NOT IN HD. When 1/2 Genie hero came out, it says ( and still says ) HD! because you can clearly see the character s and levels have recieved a much needed graphical improvment to the anime-ish cel shaded design. the ultimate edition has all the DLC, and it also includes the backer-only rewards of the alt shantae outfit and risky sword, with exclusive to ultimate - blue bikini, tinkerbat dance, and like 2 other outfits + wallpaper. that's it. ultimate edition is not a sequel, or a remake, it is the same game, with 4k options added, and some minor extra shit,
nope, it's just the 3 DLC + backer outfit and sword with ONE transformation ( tinkerbat ) which has no use, btw - and blue bikini and wallpaper. i agree it;s misleading to have both on the store, but no there are no ": exclusive game modes" you on crack, boi?

Normaly, I really love Metroidvanias, but here, it seems the focus lies too much in replaying the same old levels over and over again, to make it seem longer than it is. What there is is really good, the soundtrack is fantastic, the gameplay is on point... but the content absolutely isn't there.
