I downloaded and installed a couple days ago and began playing. The initial loading took several minutes and when I ended, it stayed on a black screen for over 5 minutes without any "save/load" messages before I forcequit it.
Is this normal? Or is there some tweak I need to do to the settings.
I'm running within all the game specs, so that shouldn't be the issue.
Wait... I've just figured it out, turn out the Update v4.0.1.0041 is not valid from the beginning, skipped that and installed straight from UPDATE V4.0.1.0044 in order to UPDATE V5.0.0.0040 and it's good to go.

hi I wanna ask about how to install the update. On the update folder I got CODEX folder & Update Folder (patch notes & CDX File). Where should I put the Update files?
I tried to update it but since the UPDATE V4.1.0.0023 is taking forever at the end to install when the bar is full, could I just immediately update it into the newest patch UPDATE V5.0.0.0040?
When starting the game, it appears in top left corner of screen, but i cant see enough to change settings. Any idea from anyone where a config file is? Edit: If anyone else runs into in this game or any other game. Alt+Enter usually does the trick :)
5.0 is awful. The performance becomes worse, the extended dialogue is forced, the leveling system is bad and the new features are underwhelming. Every update is just more awful, the turn based mode is ok, everything else is horrible.

Anyone figure out the patch order? i'm re-downloading the torrent since the last one i dled was the 3.0 version and i had problems with the patches. Other sites that use the same torrent mention this order "Download & install Update v4.0.1.0041 / v4.0.1.0044 / v4.1.0.0023 / v4.1.1.0034 / v4.1.2.0047 / v5.0.0.0040"
This is correct., skipping v4.0.1.0041 because its not included and not needed. But installing them all in this order works without any install error messages, no black screen on launch, and the top right of the screen will say the game is now v5.0.0.0040

Update 5.0.0.0040 can't be installed. 2 error, 1st it said hash sum for Setup-1.cdx is invalid/missing, 2nd, after I chose to continue it still works but only to validate existing files, after that a pop up with no text with the title Isdone.dll appears. When I close it I'm back with the setup screen that hangs when I try to close it/cancel it.

This is not accurate. Your ISP logs every web request you send. Direct Downloads are EASIER to track than torrents for your ISP. On top of that, Google keeps better records of who accesses their sites than anybody. You don't technically NEED a VPN for any kind of activity, but you're doing something illegal that will be forever a part of Google's recorded logs. I don't know why the government would ask Google for their records for just a simple downloader, but if you want paranoid safety, a VPN would be necessary.
What you said is technically correct, however one important thing you didn't mention. Your ISP doesn't give 2 rats nuts about you downloading games/movies/shows illegally. So yes, direct downloads are incredibly "safe" compared to torrents. Torrents (at least popular ones) often have copyright holder leeches who track your IP address when you P2P connect with them while seeding/leeching. They send this info to your ISP which is what results in your ISP sending you those warning letters. If they don't have copyright holders breathing down their neck, they couldn't care less. They're collecting your monthly internet access bill, that's what matters to them. Others copyright issues only matter to them if they have no choice.

Make sure to install the 1.0.2 update first, otherwise updating any further won't work. I had to install the 1.0.2 update twice, since it wasn't working the first time, then I was able to update 1.1 and onward.
download the Update from the Torrent , then once that's done you will find 2 folder : Update and CODEX . Just click on the folder update and use the SETUP , also make sure in the window you get to tick the 'Copy the files from the codex folder' . that's about it . The setup will install and update your game

The last time I could feel this was with... The Baldur's Gate games. Always hated their combat system, loved their stories. Which is why I can even enjoy the story mode, actually. lol
For me, CRPGs are all about the story. If the story is engaging, I can withstand crappy combat. Arcanum, Planescape: Torment, etc never really had "good" combat but the stories were so well penned, that it made up for so many flaws. A lot of games, even modern RPGs just don't have nearly as engaging stories as are found in CRPGs, despite probably being mechanically better. Tower of Time is a great recent example. Though strategic, the combat isn't terribly satisfying and I find myself blowing through it to keep progressing through the great story-telling/world-building.

I don't remember that much how bad Arcanum combat was though... In my memory, it's like good old Fallout 2. Oh, Arcanum's combat wasn't bad by any means, just not great. I liked that it had both real-time and turn-based options which, if I recall correctly, was unique at the time. I have not played that edition! My last run through was about 3 years ago, but I have been meaning to give it another whirl which I will do with that link. I can't recommend Tower of Time enough, right now. The story is really engaging and makes even the scattered bits of lore worthwhile to find.

Love the store, the characters, your choices make huge desicions constantly and the game based on those choices make it one of a kind as it changes with every answer you give to another npc or character. If you think this is an ARPG, then the disappointment is on you, not the game. This game never claimed to be an ARPG. It's a cRPG with a rich storyline that are very interactive. If you're not into good stories then you wouldn't enjoy this game.
I found divinity original sin 2 to be slightly more action oriented. There's no problem in divinity you can't solve by killing everyone. Plus the interface is much more intuitive with drag+drop stuff. And you can rotate the camera! Everyhing in divinity is 3d unlike here where it's all still images
"error unzipping part 4/5" fails my process , grumble , really don´t want to redownload and as it seems this current version is bugged to hell and back and may not even run proper after an install or encounter a gamebreaking bug - guess i´ll have to wait a lil.
Game can run after install. But, I cannot move into the next location (eg a nearby cave). This game is buggy. The same problem happens on Codex/GOG release. Anyone facing the same problem?

well what windows do you have ? like Win7 , 10? You can right click on the game exe , and use the compatibility (would say something like Run game with Window XP , 7..etc) . Also , what kind of antivirus do you use ? Some of them block games and screw them up . You can disable it while you play and see if it's blocking it . EDIT: Also make sure your drivers are up to date .
Windows 10. GTX 1050 2GB GDDR5 VRAM 16GB DDR4 2133mhz RAM I don't use any active antivirus. I keep all active scans and gate-keeping off. I scan when I have issues and on a semi-regular basis.
right click and make it run as Admin . also check your drivers if they are up to date . Sorry , I was never good at that stuff of if you have enough RAM . I did google the issue , and it come with alot of games based on Unity it seem . Haven't found a fix though so far . You can also go to 'can you run it' , it will scan your pc and tell you if you have the minimum required .
Done all that. Installed the latest Nvidia drivers yesterday. Did the 'Run as Admin' and tried compatibility modes Windows 7 and 8 just to see if it would work. The same crash each and every time.
then try the website of 'Can you run it' . It will detect your hardware and tell you if anything isn't working . Like shader and such . Sorry I can't help more :(
That website is funny! It balks at my G4560 CPU and says I can't run games I already have and run just fine. Far Cry 5, Assassin's Creed Origins, etc. The run just fine on my PC. But, that site says they won't work.

You could try re-installing . if it's truly a registry error . Then I recommand you Uninstall the game with REVO Uninstaller . Revo is good for games that aren't tied to Steam (cose it will delete every game in steam lol learned that one the hard way) . It will also clean any trace of the game as is . Then re-install it again . And see if that change something . Edit: Oh once you uninstall , you can also use CCleaner to fix registry issue as well .
can you check the folder ? and see if there is a file called : d3d9.dll file In POE1 , some peoples said they had crash and that file was the reason . (Just copy and save it elsewhere after you delete the original to test) . If its there that is .
hum..well you can try reinstalling using Revo Uninstaller (It's free) and see if it work . P.S: The report , at least from Steam . Are kinda mixed . Some peoples are playing the game with no issue , while others are having similar bugs . I myself , about finished downloading Part 5 . Gonna give it a run see if it work then head for bed .

UPDATE. I checked GeForce Experience (the app) and there were even NEWER drivers to download. I downloaded and installed them, restarted my PC, let everything run, and NOW THE GAME WORKS. I took some Advil for my migraine.

Download all the parts . Then Unzip all of them at once with Winrar . You will get an ISO file . You need to mount the ISO File . It will appear like a CD . Click on that , and inside you have a folder with an Install.exe . The crack should be also be in there under another folder .
Torrent often is in one zipped file . some of them aren't though . The process is the same . The difference , is here you can download them one by one . While with Torrent it download the whole thing at once but it depand on how many seeders (which are peoples) are on and the speed of your connection .

Well mostly when the files are uploaded to the premium site, they last longer. Chance of the link expiring is significantly lower than the other server. Think of it as a backup link.
Honestly? It's free, so don't complain. The only annoying thing is, when old games still have Uploaded links online, but all others are down, and they respond with "Well, Uploaded is online, wo we won't reupload". It's still understandable though.

Open the url where it says the google limit has been reached. Change the "uc?id" in the url to "open?id" Click on Add to My Drive on the top right Go to your Google Drive and right click on the file and click Make a Copy Download the Copy of the original file. Delete the Copy from your Drive and Bin after downloading.

I can't recommend Tower of Time enough, right now. The story is really engaging and makes even the scattered bits of lore worthwhile to find.

It's both. If you google top ARPGs, Diablo will usually be on the list. You don't have to like to the terms, but this is what the gaming community has decided as a whole.

How can you compare shitty ARPGs to epic CRPGs like this? They are mediocre in comparison.
It's always good to Google/YouTube before buying/downloading. You know, to make sure the game is the one you like.

You can right click on the game exe , and use the compatibility (would say something like Run game with Window XP , 7..etc) . Also , what kind of antivirus do you use ? Some of them block games and screw them up . You can disable it while you play and see if it's blocking it .
EDIT: Also make sure your drivers are up to date .

I don't use any active antivirus. I keep all active scans and gate-keeping off. I scan when I have issues and on a semi-regular basis.
You can also go to 'can you run it' , it will scan your pc and tell you if you have the minimum required .

You could try re-installing . if it's truly a registry error . Then I recommand you Uninstall the game with REVO Uninstaller . Revo is good for games that aren't tied to Steam (cose it will delete every game in steam lol learned that one the hard way) . It will also clean any trace of the game as is . Then re-install it again . And see if that change something .
Edit: Oh once you uninstall , you can also use CCleaner to fix registry issue as well .
In POE1 , some peoples said they had crash and that file was the reason . (Just copy and save it elsewhere after you delete the original to test) . If its there that is .
P.S: The report , at least from Steam . Are kinda mixed . Some peoples are playing the game with no issue , while others are having similar bugs .

The only annoying thing is, when old games still have Uploaded links online, but all others are down, and they respond with "Well, Uploaded is online, wo we won't reupload".
It's still understandable though.

Change the "uc?id" in the url to "open?id"
Click on Add to My Drive on the top right
Go to your Google Drive and right click on the file and click Make a Copy
Download the Copy of the original file.
Delete the Copy from your Drive and Bin after downloading.
