Yeah it turned out that my antivirus decided to block the page where the links appear (bluemediafiles). After adding an exception it worked just fine. I find it weird since I've been using that site for ages and all of a sudden it just changed on me for some reason
this developer is scummy got 37 thousand dollars for his game ride with strangers, gave his backers zero information for 3 years stopped development and moved on to this series looking for the same people to pay for these games ahah not to mention he is complaining that the people who backed it 3 years ago are wondering what happened to the game theygave money towards haah scum bag for sure

Bug Fixes
Fixed bug where if the Node Hexer would start off at the first position, and would not be clickable.
Fixed a bug where The Dollmaker would push you through the floor
Fixed a bug where Lucas would kill you, and the camera would remain blurry.
Fixed a bug where you could quite the game, and get full battery life back. That is now fixed.
Fixed a bug where some achievements would not be activated for beating the game. Such as The Professional.
Added 1337 Mode
No saving at all. If the game crashes or if you alt f4. Sorry GG.
Threats are activated from the start of the game.
Threats will be aggressive from the start.
No tutorial.
No free remote vpn at start.
You will only start with 1 DOS Coin.
You will be given 1 Back Door.
All hacks(except Zone Wall) will be at the hardest level.
You CAN NOT force hacks. If you beat 1337 mode you will get an ultra secret ending :)

You can now get virus if you lose a hack, they can steal DOS coin slowly and cause your computer to randomly restart. You must purchase an Anti-Virus sweep from the zeroDay market to get rid of them.
Now if you complete the Doll Maker quest you get bonous DOS Coin.

opened the game once, worked fine. that is until i clicked new game. it then told me the back story, loaded for 5 minutes, then closed. tried to open it again and the whole main menu disappeared?? (there are no buttons for new game, continue, options.. etc) its all just the background.. help?

WELP!!! Yesterday i downloaded this games and it opens fine but when the girl says "help me" at the beginning it doesnt play and everytime i want to start playing the game it would take forever to load and crashes
help i made the game resolution to 320x240 and screen is now a small square and huge text all over the place and the options is now unreachable and i cant start the game anymore how do i change the settings before launching the game please HELP!!

So Many Buuuugs ! After solved tutorial Shutown issue, the game works but have some bugs again and we can't continue the game : -One bug when you're walking on the hallway, you just teleported in the void of texuture... can't continue,You have to start a new game... -One same bug right after this, on the terrace, you falling down teleported under the textures.... Can't continue the game each time theses bugs
I changed the resolution ingame and is messed it up so now i cant play the game or change the resolution as its just zoomed in really far, anyway to make it so when i reinstall it, theres no previous game files leftover because whenever ive tried to reinstall it it just keeps the zoomed in bad resolution.
Well guys, not applying crack and skipping tutorial (the call) works like a miracle, played for an hour and just got game over.but i am not quite sure if this can keep up until the end of the game though, u know it might crash at some point around the later events of the game.
the tutorial crash is a bug that got fixed with the newest update the crash when you put the crack in must be on your end i put the crack in and had no problems at all played for like 2 hours and did not have a single crash. did you try to download it again maybe crack got corrupted? (and even if it crashes at later events in the game you don't have to worry since it autosaves the game every 15minutes) i hope they update this soon the new update fixed some annoying bugs
oh so the tutorial crash was in the actual game, but what made my day is the game works just fine without the crack when youre supposed to crack it i will try to download it again and see if the first file was really corrupted.

i didnt realize this is from the dev of rides with strangers. i hope people buy it too, $10 seems like a fair price if you enjoy it. hopefully if the dev sees this sight he will comment and recommend people to buy it, IGG usually pins dev comments to the top to help them out

Ok Guys, it worked perfectly for me. I have GTX 1050 8GB RAM and 64- bit. You guys also replaced the Crack folder in the game files too right? Beacuse if you didnt do that, no wonder it didnt work
What specs do you guys have? I might be able to help you. But first let me download the game and try it out for myself if it crashes for me. And please tell me if you have 32 bit or 64. Cuz i dont think this game can run on 32 bit
