If the game keeps closing for you automatically after you run SkyrimVR.exe, try running it but with your VR headset set up and connected to your device. For some reason this worked for me, if I don't have SteamVR opened with everything connected it'll automatically close the game
Also, remember to apply the crack as this one doesn't do it for you. Just go into the VREX folder, copy, and then paste to where the SkyrimVR.exe is

The solution to instant crash after launch is to make sure your Oculus software is running and headset is set up, steam VR is installed and running. I connected my headset, started oculus link, opened my desktop in VR and then launched steam VR, viewed desktop again and then launched SkyrimVR.exe.

Uninstall/delete the game folder and re-install it, and install it again, then copy the contents of the VREX install folder( steam_api.dll, binkw64.dll, SkyrimVR.CDX, and SkyrimVR.exe) into the main game folder. i was getting that, too. but i did this, and it worked.

The Crack does not work at all, the exe in the crack file says that it is unreadable. tried the other things like using the api from another VR game but doesnt work (I doubt it would have worked without the "crack" installed anyways... please fix?)

Ok so you know how there is a codex or crack file? Go into there and copy its content, paste it into where the game files are stored and it should be working edit: It usually contains steam files and a game exe
1.4.15.x is the version of the download, at steam i cant find the most recent version.... i guess its the latest version, although SKSE aint working and my Oculus aint starting the game

So you only take the exe from CRACKED folder? Have you tried to take ALL OF THEM and replace the existing items with it? It should do the trick most of time

Don't expect to be able to get in under that price, but it's worth triple that price. The rift S is for people who have an IPD of 60-65mm; this is the distance from the center of your left pupil to the center of your right pupil. If you're outside of that range, you will not have a clear experience. 75% of all people fit in that range, so unless you're Andre the Giant or Child Sized you should be good.
anyone know how to get sounds to work with oculus link? I hear the game sound thru my speakers. I tried setting "oculus speakers" audio output in sound settings of my pc as well as steam but nothing happens.

Having trouble with mods. LOOT isn't recognizing the game, could it be because the registry for the install is different with a pirated copy? Has anyone else had any luck with this release and LOOT?
This IS still the latest version of the game. Simply look below on HOW I confirm this is the latest version (1.4.15 from August 2018) Mods work just fine for this game as they are made for the latest version, which was updated last year, and NOT SINCE.
There is a particular mod called "VRIK" which states it will not work on pirated copies. I dont know how that is the case, but they mentioned because it has to be the latest version of the game. I tried it, my game doesnt work with the mod, either this download isnt the very latest version bethesda released, OR the mod developer intentionally somehow made it not work on a pirated copy.
Once again, this is the latest version of the game. check the change log themselves on steam of bethesda. you'll see they match this version of the game. Some modders can add their own DRM to prevent pirates from using it. Easy enough to do as it would just require a simple check to see if the game was cracked. It's not impossible for them to do. Google Kladien mods. He is a modder that has done a check for pirated copies before. Got a lot of heat for it because it was seen as malware.
The way the modder worded the whole thing, it sounded like the mod doesn't work with pirated copies and he just wont go out of his way to fix it, rather than intentionally adding something to make it not work with pirated copies. So im not sure if he intentionally did it, but either way the mod doesn't work. The mod is like the VR Body mod except it has arms that move realistically with yours, very immersive for VR. But it doesn't annoy me enough to want to give Bethesda more of my money. Anyways, thank you for the help, friend.
Still modding this game, it takes a lot more effort than normal skyrim that's for sure. So far so good I think with my mod list but still got some left to go. Spent some time trying to get VRIK running but it simply does not work. Either the game crashes, or, the body is invisible. Don't know if theres a fix for it. The mod author is a cuck putting DRM in their mod to help greedy bethesda, so sad. But it's not a huge loss.
There shouldn't be any way for it to detect it is a pirated copy though, that point of the crack is to trick it into thinking it is genuine. There must have been a micro update, or maybe it has to do with file structure, but it should be doable.
After looking things over and installing this game. The current version up for download is the latest version. Mods support version 1.4.15 and (as of this point) the latest version is 1.4.15. (checked the exe's properties to confirm it myself) If you found a version 1.9x... then it's for a different version of Skyrim... Not the VR edition. Going by the fact you called this one "like 1.3x" shows you did no research on this subject at all... I am glad I decided to download it and confirm all of this myself as you clearly did not. Hopefully this will help anyone else looking to play the latest version of this game as well.
oh well, thank you for downloading it and checking it, cause i was for a VERY long time waiting for an update link like they always do in every other game i have downloaded from the website, like in fallout 4 VR where they put the update link for the game after several times of asking for it, and turns out they updated skyrim since i dont know when but they did it with a full upload, cause the version a first got from here was 1.3xx and then i downloaded again a few months later and was still 1.3xx then i gave up on asking casue i never saw the update link like the other games, thank you very much for doing it all your self, and it wasnt about not doing a research it was becasue im not used to have whole reupload of the game updated usually we only get an update standalone link below the normal download links and description. BTW i was trying to type 1.4xx but for some reason i miss typed 1.9x instead, i actually knew casue i looked onn the bethesda patch notes website that it was outdated but i guess since i dint want to get a full download to find out it was the saem i had already installed i never checked it again.

I've cracked the game both manually and with an option in the installer but every time i launch it it takes me to the steam page. I also disabled my firewalls and antivirus but no luck. Maybe i can't find the crack folder or i'm missing something else. Someone please help idk what's wrong!!
get 7zip, then mount the iso. In the virtual drive with the iso files, there is a .bin file. Right click it and open archive. Find the .exe and hit extract on the top. Extract it to the Skyrim VR install folder. (this assumes you've already installed it.) They mustve mixed up the original and cracked .exe's.
Hey, just bought a Rift and dying to play this game. Downloaded it and can get it running through SteamVR and it works...for a few minutes then get resource spikes that freezes everything for about 3-4 seconds. I get the spikes every 30 seconds or so making this game unplayable. Robo-something works fine through Oculus (no steam) so guessing SteamVR and Oculus don't work together well. Any advice? Also, should I be worried about playing these games through Oculus? I have a Steam account with legitimate games so not sure if that's a concern. Any help is much appreciated! Thanks. Syd

I think it should have been a free update, or at the most a dlc for max 10€, but not full prize standalone. I get that porting takes efford, but not as much as making the game itself.

Hey, I have a problem. The game works flawlessly except for one thing : the saving option. When I or the game try to save the game it shows me an error saying it failed. I have the same error with another game, Bioshock, so it's not only Skyrim that have something wrong going on. I tried starting the game in admin, failed too. I have an HTC Vive.

Hi, you can download the langpack for skyrim special edition (search that on google). After, install the langpack in a new folder (not the game folder). Copy the "Skyrim - Voices_**0.bsa" file and past in the skyrimVR path under "data" (exaple c:\games/skyrimVR/data), rename the file "Skyrim - Voices_en0.bsa". Enjoy
