You extract the update rar file then you run the setup. The setup will then ask for the current location of the game (depending on the updater it might detect it on it's own) then you tell it to install. That is the case with every game on this site. Then you take whatever is in the crack folder, which could be called crack or codex, and put it into whatever folders it says (it will usually say if it's in the binary folder) and replace any that are "similar" when it asks you to. Then it should run.
Warning: this game is bad. Watch the 50 minutes of cutscenes on YouTube if you want to have a laugh (they're so bad sometimes that I can't help but start laughing out loud). If you really want to play this, then imagine playing Half-Life 2 again but throwing the good level design, puzzles and interesting gameplay out the window, and replacing it with bullet-sponge enemies, very tedious gunplay, and constant bugs. There, you've played it in your head, now stay away lol

welllllllllllllllllllllllll you had black mesa which is good, that wasnt by valve. although i guess they didnt have to do as much as the devs for hdtf, since its a remaster, the levels are built, the story is written, the weapons are designed. they just have to re-texture stuff

hi guys i have installed and applied the crack ( 3. CRACK FIXED:) straightway not using the crack inside iso file and my game still have not cut scenes ,is there a way to fix this?
Holy shit, This "stand-alone" game just made me... want to kms. The good stuff: Weapon animations and the varied amount of guns. Nightvision is sick in regard of its animation. Using a car with a mounted machine gun is pretty cool. Voice actors are... Decent. Some of the levels have challenges and puzzles that needs you to be creative. Bad Stuff: There's absolutely no tutorials of how to do this and that, literally confused when the room were all pitch black till 30 minutes later, I realized that you have to put on the Night Vision Googles by pressing 6 and left click (anims are pretty cool tbh). Then another 5 minutes on figuring out to take it off (right-click)... Some levels are glitched, meaning that I had to use Noclip to get out of some situations. Many of these levels where you think you have to hold against a push of these reskinned gigantic combine soldier, is actually just an endless push and as per usual, wasted about 10-20 minutes before realizing the push was endless. Ammuniation is a bitch in this game, and the SMG is weak as fuck (need 1-2 full magazine to break a wooden box). Using the Grende Launcher looks cool till you fired it. The explosive rounds just pop out from the center of your face and its not even reskinned, or maybe it is but it's unnoticable. Oh and, be prepared to see a bunch of broken textures (purple and black textures) from time to time. Story doesn't really make any sense... The player arms is cancer. Mounted machine gun and the minigun at the train part... Feels just like the airboat mounted gun. Not immersive at all. Some of the levels are horrid. Glitchy NPC's. Not worth the $20 price tag. Stolen L4D2 tents that flickers like hell when you get close to it. The sounds of when you open your inventory (TAB) will EARRAPE you use your headphones, so beware. Conclusion: $20? 60 GBs? Not worth it... Even the cracked one is not worth it as well. Don't download unless you're absolutely bored and got nothing to do. Also for the memes/cancer. Tips: Tired of the dark? Type in console (you have to enable it first in the game options first): sv_cheats 1 mat_fullbright 1 Tired of running out of ammo all the time? givecurrentammo Stuck at buggy as fuck levels? noclip
guess what? the guns are stolen too apparently. and if they aren't, then they're at least """"inspired"""" also the day 1 patch isn't in this version but I doubt it'll make a difference

Yeah... If you read the review in Steam, there are far more detailed reviews since they played through the entire game, and I only played to the part where I get to control the jeep with the mounted machine guns. I warn you about the artic tho... Many said its horrible xD
Engine Error. A Source engine game is required to run mods. From Steam I downloaded Source SDK, Half-Life 2, even Counter Strike Source, applied the latest crack to this game and still got this message. Can someone help me?
Try making a shortcut, then going to properties and typing at the end (without quotes) "-game hdtf" and then launch that shortcut, if your hdtf is renamed to hl2 rename it back to hdtf

I already did it. The problem was I launched the shortcut, not the .exe. Also need to rename the subdir hdtf to hl2, and the texts in the menu are still not perfect, but readable

I had this too, crackfix applied but didnt fix so i renamed HDTF to hl2. Works but menu text uses #tags instead of the lang. You can at least launch the game. This version doesn't have the cutscenes yet though.

I don't know why but the game has 4K textures that doesn't give you the option to not download, it also has stuff like L4D2 and CS content (although I'm not even sure if these are being used, I can't tell you since I can't get the game to run). The devs also said that there's content inside of the game that isn't even being used.
Tyler Flowers glad to know. I mean the game has been through lots of problems (from what I hear) and its scoring terribly on steam. Apparently some can't even play the game and its very un-optimized. When did they start making the game?
The earliest thing I know about this game is it's concept demo, which was released about a year ago, so I presume they started about half a year ago before that.

This game seems to weigh around 40GB on your hard drive once installed, but Half-Life 2 was just a few GB and it looked better and had more memorable scenes. This looks cold and impersonal. I watched other videos and it seems the whole game looks like that. Also, gameplay seems very simple, with constant shooting, while the original Half-Life games were at the very least 50% exploration, which was one of my main reasons for loving them.
