=================HOW TO UPDATE TO 3.6=================
Made the account just to help the rest of u guys. If your STELLARIS IS NOT UPDATED TO 3.6 you missed a file on this page! The file is NOT next to the usual "part1/2/3/4" files , scrolled higher up and as long as you PAY ATTENTION , above the system requirements you will see a tiny section called "Update 3.6". Download it and simply install it, read the instructions in it.
This is probably the case for a lot of the games on this site , i myself am gonna start double checking the whole page now. I had no idea about this until i couldnt find a clear answer in the chat so i started analysis the page. YOURE WELCOME wasted 10 mins typing this for you , i NEVER comment on the internet, this is my first on any site including youtube and reddit. Go play your up to date pirated games you scrub :P

If ur first downloading this AFTER u extract everything MAKE SURE to look for the FOLDER DLC and install them one by one theres around 19dlc AFTER THAT go update your game if u update ur game u wont be able to INSTALL the dlc then Ta-Dah you have all dlc with the lastest update
NOW IF U WANT TO PUT MODS Download them and put the folder here Documents\Paradox Interactive\Stellaris\mod And Copy paste the .MOD file from there change the name and put it on Documents\Paradox Interactive\Stellaris\mod So there will be the main folder of the mod and the .mod file
Open "launch stellaris.exe" Check if your mods are now enabled just make sure those mods are updated 3.6 i had to spent hours to fix this but if the mod is telling an error like "This archive path in the mod's descriptor file is invalid or does not exist."
Go to your mod folder and look for the one with this problem and OPEN AS "note bloc or whatever just to read the file" the .mod file u need to add or edit this. path="mod/(name of the mod folder)" Example: i have planet.mod(planet is the same name of the mod folder) i open as on a note bloc to add this path="mod/planet" save it and check on the stellaris launcher and it should be fixed enjoy ur game sorry my english is not my first language

Before we start, sorry for any spelling mistakes. Stellaris still just as hard the last time it was a real purge to succeed in installing it properly here it's even worse so in the order of what is causing the problem there are no DLCs there are no there is no way to use it as an update of the previous one it makes the previous one which contained the DLC disappear Since there was the Gog launcher on the previous one and that there is more and well we can no longer put a mode no here all the issues so please i know you are doing your best to give us the best possible experience there are games that are being updated and added every day and i am probably talking bullshit but i think it's done by volunteers And in general when there are manipulations to be done after the download it's something that is extremely easy so I thank you very much but here for once it must be rare but on stellaris it doesn't didn't work The tutorials for installing or updating don't change anything since only the tutorial for installing can be used so unless you need a manipulation specifically specifically for this game, what is possible and well that does not work I tried to install it in several parts I tried via torrent I searched in the files to see if I had to do something to install the DLCs once installed it does not work I tried to regroup it with the old stellarist that I hadn't deleted it doesn't work I tried to follow the classic installation tutorial it doesn't work the update tutorial it doesn't work
run the "setup_stellaris_3.7.3_(63182).exe" file and install the base game
open the DLC folder and install each of the dlcs one by one
run the game (from the desktop shortcut or start menu shortcut or dowser.exe)
skip the account login and let the launcher update
after launcher is done restart launcher
click play after checking your dlcs are enable and game settings are good
start new game (make sure to select the same install location for the base game and dlcs) (there is a Bonus folder with other files like wallpapers etc but those aren't needed for the game)
This guide was for version 3.7.3 it might be different for future releases.
So let me make a conclusion of all those comments if you want to play this cracked Stellaris with DLCs and (optionally) MODs:
Unzip and install it.
After installation, copy all files under CODEX and paste them into the installation folder (where Stellaris.exe and dowser.exe locates).
(Optional) Edit steam_emu.ini (copied from CODEX). Set DLCUnlockall=1 if you want all DLCs enabled. Set Language=your_language if you want to change the language in game.
Use dowser.exe (the launcher) to configure DLCs and MODs, but don't use it to launch the game. Instead, directly open Stellaris.exe to start gaming. (This is different from the legal Steam version.)
To install new mods, download them from steamworkshopdownloader.io and unzip them (one folder/directory for one mod), then register your new mods:
For each mod you've unzipped: copy descriptor.mod to C:\Users<YourUsername>\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Stellaris\mod; rename the copied .mod file to whatever you like (but keep the .mod postfix); add one line to the copied .mod file:
path="<path to the place where you unzipped this mod, replace all \ to />"
Don't forget the quotes, and don't include "<" or ">" in your real .mod file.
Some MOD authors may leave their own "path" lines in their .mod file; delete these lines and keep there is only one "path" line (which is added by you, not the author) in one .mod file.
After handling all these .mod files, open dowser.exe to change mod settings (activating, sorting, etc). Then open Stellaris.exe to start your game with your newly downloaded MODs.
OMG I love this guy but I don't know why I enabled my mod in the launcher and open the game with stellaris.exe in the main folder my mod is not working
i would recomend downloading instead the torrent for stellaris off of https://pcgamestorrents.com/stellaris-galaxy-edition.html becose the files i downloaded from here were corrupted. remember to install the dlc before updating from 3.5.3 to 3.6 becose the DLC is version 3.5.3 only and cant be installed for 6.3, otherwise you will have to re-install stellaris 3.5.3 and its agonyzingly slow by todays standards, had to have my computer open for many hours installing it
dlc works fine on my end. didn't need to do anything except mount the iso and hit install. not sure what you guys are whining about. crack didn't even have anything to do with it. i like rune's upload, as opposed to previous uploaders that made you install the gog dlc one by one. stupid
mount, do the install .exe, notice it's by Rune, copy crack is checkmarked, see around 80-100% the dlc folders begin to be added, double check after the install that there's a dlc folder where i put everything. that's all i did
edit ; perhaps it should be noted that i exclusively use megaup.net links, you can't rule out that somebody could have fucked up the uploads on other sites with a lesser version
did you install the game again from the beginning or did you update frm the previous version ? if you updated from the previous version where did you get the new patch ? is it this from the top of the download list : "Link Stellaris Galactic Paragons-RUNE TORRENT:" ? i din t want to fuckup my game as i noticed that people can not get the dlc's and i would need a bit of help
Personally I tried I didn't succeed (maybe it's just me who is stupid) but in any case to make sure you don't screw up your game I would advise you not to try to put it update for now and wait for someone to put a functional tutorial on YouTube because if you do like me and you can't do it you can fuck your part your modes the DLC you can fuck everything in the trash
Buy the game, the DLCs are expensive but so worth it, if really you don't have enough to pay or want to try, go ahead and have fun, it's the best game ! But if you can buy it, do it, it deserves its price.
As far as I can tell the "patch_stellaris_3.5.3_(59318)to_3.6.0.1(60397)" is corrupted in some way shape or form. It never makes any progress and seem to just perpetually run.
I would recommend waiting for another release from IGG before installing it. I have has cases where I let it run for 30 minutes or so and it "updates" the version but then I am missing a background picture, buttons, crashes, etc. there is a lot going on right now.
Please be patient so they can push another release for us. :)

Don't like it revert. Paradox are great for allowing us to go back to virtually any version of the game with just a couple clicks. Oh right, you can't do that on pirated version, I sail the seven seas as much anyone else here, but if you want to complain because you can't revert on pirated, buy the game instead. (you can pirate the DLC tbh and paradox could always use those 40 euros since they're not that big)
Yes paradox experiments, and it's great, users give feedback, what works is reinforced, what doesn't is scrapped. Stellaris is a ever-changing game, you should have been aware of this by 2.0 when the game was turned upside down.

Have you tried version from gog-games (dot) com? They have it updated - I wouldn't normally mention other sites with games here on IGG but it's weird seeing this many people here have problems with that patching app while I had none of these and game works fine for me..

Hmmmm seem like this 3.9 repack causing memory leak issue and very very unstable. Well good thing I still store my 3.1 version since it's using installation process instead repack type it doesn't cause the game misbehaving like this repack it causing issue in system next thing I knew I have 5GB ram memory leak. Guess 3.1 back for me .

For those who are having trouble with something about using steam etc.
Open your steam Go to library and find that button where you can add a game in your local computer (google it because I forgot how) Find stellaris executable Create a shortcut of that game using steam (again google that, make sure its a shortcut created by steam not the shortcut created by "send to desktop" in file exporer) Open stellaris using that shortcut. Done.

anyone figure out how to get the dlc working, there all registering as enabled but upon launching it tells me they are not owned and doesnt let me use them
You set your game difficulty when you get to the "Game options". Click Select and you'll see after that a bunch of settings. Amongst the first one's should be "Difficulty"

you need to install the dlc after the base game, toxoids should be "setup_stellaris_toxoids_species_pack_3.7.3_(63182)" in the DLC folder for this version.

Adding pirated DLC to legit games is 100% possible but requires some miniscule handywork for it to work, I personally don't know how to do it for stellaris but sites like cs.rin.ru tend to have nice work arounds

i found a user in raddit that, better not use skill of fallen empire but only with mod. i was successful with copy skill thread in save file, only failed with fallen empire escort ship. i told it to him/her ... and after, this version isn't allow we use fallen empire skills like that. i found who is destroying fun of this game. yeah, i definitely think these guys just doing experiment to users, instead of doing simple game business.

if you play "dowser", you open launcher. there are some menu's of launcher, you can see adjust dlc and mod. with that, you can activate or deactivate mod.
but if you face failure of game, you have to check if your "launcher-setting.json" file. if you open it with note or note++, concentrate on "browserDlcUrl" and "distPlatform" strings on the top. if you see it's directing steam, change them like this: "browserDlcUrl": "https://www.gog.com/game/stellaris", "distPlatform": "gog", you will see problem solved if it was steam.
Hello! I am experiencing issues regarding the dlcs. When I try installing them, they start, ask me to choose a language and then the installer never opens. Is there any way I can fix this issue? PS: The base game doesn't have any issues.
why...it haves to be GOG..i don't want to manually install 1021092 DLCs, or should i say, PAID PATCHES by myself...but it seems this is the only way though...
open the game files, where the exe is, and open launcher-settings.json. Look for distPlatform": "pdx" and change it to this. You can now run dowser.exe which will let you turn mods on and off.
You can get mods from Skymods, just google them. the mods from that site will give you two files a .mod file and a folder. The .mod goes into your C:\Users\your name\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Stellaris\mod While the folder goes into: C:\Users\your name\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Stellaris\workshop\Content\281990
you can also install them manualy tho it's more of a hastle to deal with,you always need a clean copy of the folder of the maingame in case the mod isn't compatible,if mod is compatible with the game copy all contents from its folders such as "common" and put it all into its respective folders in maingame folder,and yes replace files if nessesary launcher does the same anyway on the start,but difference is the original game files arent affected through launcher like they are if you do this,but as long as mods are compatible with echother and the game you can have as many mods as your pc can handle :)
The paradox is a pain,does someone have an idea how to fix it,at first when i use it to start the game with dowser,it just say launcher not loading,then if the game started and finish loading to 100%,it crashes and tell an error occured.

Yeah, I've been having to use MegaUp, the very first one, it works about as good as Google, if you have decent internet anyway, I get about 100 mbps usually so it takes bout 9 min for 5 gigs

Hello, how to install mods manually. Tried to look it up but got confused, seems like there's a steam and paradox launcher specific mod folder and instructions to be followed for modding. Not sure what it is here though.
Manually theres is manual way sometime it wont work when you try large mod or mod that edit habitat or something. Just copy paste certain file that mod going to replace. But i suggest learn to edit the common file by your self instead using mod. Because i already had legit stellaris i cant go online because how massive the file i edit basically make me a god tier.like my battleship it has 6 slot each section all of it is 12 slot each sections. If you need guide in editing what file just reply this comment.

you can edit "launcher-setting.json" into gog or paradox version. open that file with "note++" program and change specific strings like this:
gog: a. change url direction string of "browserDlcUrl" into "https://www.gog.com/game/stellaris" b. change string of "distPlatform" as "gog"
paradox a. change url direction string of "browserDlcUrl" into "https://www.paradoxplaza.com/stellaris-all/" b. change string of "distPlatform" as change string of "distPlatform" (if you can't see full url strings above, open it and copy url address) note: we don't know what is wont work after it changed
to anyone having issues with the dlc, i can help in the mounted iso there is a crack file in the CODEX folder grab EVERYTHING in that folder and move it into the stellaris install afterword's go into the steam_emu.ini file and look for DLCUnlockall=0 change it to DLCUnlockall=1 then save it, you may need to do that first in order to actually save it
oh and before i forget if you run the dowser launcher as admin after changing the launcher_settings.json file to have distribution platform to gog you can launch the game through it dont know why you would though when its faster to launch it through the .exe

As others have said the DLC doesn't seem to be activated. There is no steam_emu.ini to edit in my installation either to try the previous post's suggestion, and there are no separate installation files (iirc they're already installed) I kind of get the feeling this is fixed on steam's end, and will need a new crack.
before you unpack rar , unpack iso too, find this file "CODEX" copy the in install folder is impossible cant start game without that file because is the "crack"

Why use dowser.exe? This is the gog version. You install the game and then each dlc separately. Then you turn on stellaris.exe and that's it. I haven't even installed a dowser. I installed mods using irony manager, everything works fine.
Have you installed all the dlc? Each of them is a separate file. You have to install each of them separately about 17 files. Also, maybe try to disable the antivirus for a while, maybe it is messing up.
I don't know what version of the game is anymore. When I downloaded it from here it was the gog version, it says so here. I had a lot of setup files. You write here that you have the steam version. Sorry, but I can't help, despite my best intentions.

As for fallen empires, these mods work partially. Mods that allow you to play them work very well, but you can't affect them. You just get the colonies ships according to the ethos and that's it. The only thing you can change is the cheat of the received ships. Even the game is very limited. Your fallen empire behaves like any other. For example, by playing as a militant isolationist, your empire will guard the boundaries and react sharply to buffer breaches. In the case of mods that change fallen empires, I don't know to what extent they work.

Keeps telling me missing part 1 while trying to install the game. Edit: figured it out you had to open pack one and extract i opened pack two so a part didnt extract odd.
You need to open up the launcher, called dowser in the files, then go to dlc and make sure it is activated. Then exit the launcher, the launcher does not work with pirated versions, and launch the game normally. You should have it by then if u do not idk how to fix it. You can also use this method for mods.
You probably clicked a fake "Download" button in the advertisement page that will redirect you to the real download link. I recommend installing 360 Total Security antivirus (It is free) or if you already have an antivirus, just re-scan and make sure that you are not being tracked down by a malicious spyware. That's how it was with mine as well, first time around. I used launcher (once I found it) to enable the dlcs, then it worked as it should. Note: You can either enable or disable all of the dlcs at once, launcher gives you no option to choose which ones to activate or not individually. You can however delete the dlcs that you don't want or put them elsewhere if ever if you want for just some specific dlcs to be activated while excluding the rest.
1st: Visit steamworkshopdownloader(dot)io. Put a "." between steamworkshop and io. 2nd: Go to your desired mod page/link in the Steam Workshop. 3rd: Copy the link and paste it in the website on the first step.
Alternatively, you can install Tampermonkey in your browser (it is a plugin) and install an open-source userscript from GreasyFork (It is one of the safest and trustable source of userscripts so I highly recommend it).
If u have yet to find out another way, look up steam workshop downloader. U can download mods from steam without having to do it directly through steam. Just get the link of the mod and paste into it. If the game is compatible with the site, Stellaris is, you can download it.

Okay so this is pretty complex but I'd say it anyway. Hearts of Iron IV and Stellaris shares pretty much the same thing so inorder to install a mod, you need to: 1 - Create a Mod through the "Create Mod" button in the launcher 2 - Go to your Documents folder look for the Paradox Launcher folder and then seek for Stellaris. 3 - Extract your mod's files from your .rar/.zip file 4 - Copy/Cut EVERY FILES in the extracted mod file folder to the Documents/Paradox Interactive/mods. If it is not there, create a flder named "mod" I don't know if it would work, but hey atleast I tried telling you how I did it.
Alright i got the launcher working , but now the problem is that when i enable all the DLC's with the launcher and launch the game it decides that i still dont own the DLC's for some reason even though they are enabled. anyone had this iss ue and if you have do you have any fix for it?
Not sure, all I can say is that first time opening the newly downloaded game, the dlc's are not enabled yet. Just opened the launcher (once I found it) and enabled it and it worked like it should for me. Though I am pissed off that you can't choose the dlcs and either have to enable or disable them all in the launcher, though I just deleted or moved the other dlcs but it is still annoying.

It should be the one named "Dowser" for some reason, at least that's the launcher for me here. Not sure about the mods but as far as dlcs go, you either have to enable or disable them all, cannot pick. You can move the files to remove them temporarily though.
open steam_emu.ini with notepad in the stellaris folder and find this DLCUnlockall=0 and change it to this DLCUnlockall=1 then open launcher-settings.json with notepad and change this "distPlatform": "steam" to this "distPlatform": "gog", that will verify the dlc for you in the launcher.

I found it in Codex folder when you do install contents on codex to installdir edit the file first then mb just reinstall the game check the launcher-settings-json if it says steam or gog and if it says steam just change it to gog and try the game.
I have replicated everything said in this post and when i launch the game with the DLC enabled through the launcher it continues stating that i do not own them in the game, thus not allowing me to use them
Delete the Stellaris folder in your documents Documents\Paradox Interactive\Stellaris and then open the game after all the steps and let it generate a new folder.
So when I first used it without the launcher it worked fine. I used the launcher to try to use mods and now the install won't work at all. I've reinstalled the whole thing brand new and it still won't launch. Anyone got a fix? Edit: ok so I've figured out that its something with the launcher. When I tear it out and reinstall stellaris its self it works fine until I try to use the launcher to enable mods. Does anyone have a solution for this?
Some of the new bugs and stability issues are just too annoying or makes the game feel too broken for me to play atm. I'm probably gonna wait until some hot-fixes or so are out and here. Check reddit or so for the bugs and the likes. Disclaimer: Not that annoying or totally unplayable but I am just picky about some certain things is all.

I wait on this site cause at the moment it is the only one I know of that still has google drive links. Google Drive is superior to mega, rapidgator, etc cause there are no speed restrictions and no signups to get premium speeds. If I were to pay for a download service I might as well just buy the game. I would also rather not use torrents as it causes issues with my isp and they aren't always reliable.
I once download a game here from torrent but it wouldn't start properly, wasting hours of downloading the files. Tried it again because I really wanted to play the game after a few days or weeks, this time trying the Megaup option which I somehow got to work and I finally got the game running. Aside from the usually slow downloading speed from torrent, I don't trust it anymore that much compared to the usual download options here. Not sure about the others but that's how it went for me.

check documents/paradox interactive if mods not there create folder and name mods. go to game install folder for me its (D:\Games\Stellaris) open dowser.exe go to mods, mods tool, create mod name mod and your current version, tag did not matter go to u are wanted mod copy except descriptor.mod check inside the folder make sure do not copy descriptor.mod go to documents/paradox interactive/mods there is folder that u created, paste in that folder. I hope u understand i am not good at English this is one easy way that i use to install mods.

everytime i try to launch the game it says "launching the game failed". I tried opening the stellaris.exe but it said im misssing a .dll file. I downloaded that file and now it says "application was unable to start correctly (0x000007b)"pls help .
So, huhh I downloaded the part 1 and 2, extracted on one file, change my file configuration to show by name, installed each setup from top to bottom separatly, checking if each setup was funcioning propely by trying to move the window around and checking task manager, force closing the setup if wasn't responding, deleting all the game files from my pc (C: GOG games/stellaris, delete stellaris), repeat until the process is done wihout crashes and consequent impossibility to: run the setup again, play the game, play normally, listen to the music, etc. (I think this is the intended way) Only to find out that there's an uptade (2.8.1.2) with another 19 setups more and no instruccions again. There are two files in the update2.8.1.2, DLC and Update, in Update there's a update for the base game (I think)(which would make sense goes first) and in DLC 18 setups, one for each DLC. Also, if you thought the game was broken because the shortcut "Stellaris" in your desk post installing correctly launched "dowser.exe" and instanly crashed, freezed your machine, keept weird CPU/memory/GPU heavy apps or second plane apps running or very laggy game, no your game is not broken (hoppefully) go to file location of Stellaris, look for apps, try the one that says "Stellaris", not "Launch Stellaris", or "uninsnumber", worked for me. Sooo, here are my questions: Do I install base game, then update basegame, then the next dlc from top to bottom, the the update for that,... or do i install basegame and dlc's, then update basegame, then dlc's in order ? Hello, i downloaded it form here and the torrent page but i cant get it work, it says the program cant start because D3DCOMPILER_47.dll is missing, and when start with the dowser it wont launch, steam api is not initialized. If somebody knows whats happening i would appreciate any help.
Y'know my game is fine but the mods stuck at 30% complete. I did this a mods enable to disable. Once I removed all this mods and suddenly game resolve. I'm waiting to see next update for 2.8.1 look like.
2.8.1 is on the Beta version. To be honest, it said on the Bold "Fixed an issue where loading would get stuck when trying to load a lot of mods." It's true will have to wait until official update soon as possible.
To anyone can't adjust mods. You must find how to adjust mode in edit in file. Open it with note++, Microsoft word, or something, and edit. There must be way what searchable in portal sites.
you have to take the descriptor file out of the specific mod's folder and have it in the mod folder edit: sorry not the descriptor file. there's like a different text file that you need outside the folder that has the same name as the folder. if you go to mod tools in the launcher and make a new mod, you'll see the format it needs to be
The infinite frontier ebook is a dlc that really just gets you a book to read. That is it. Nothing happens in game you can just read a book set in the stellaris universe. Though I can never get it running, so u might not be able to read it.

definitely its expensive, i would suggest getting the three main ones (utopia, federations and distant stars(megacorp and Apocalypse is a little meh) and just wait until the species packs are on sale. you're not really missing anything if you decide not to get Leviathans and ancient relics.

For anyone who can't load mods. After looking on forums, checking files, editing and deleting Stellaris and Paradox launcher data files.I found another possible solution to this problem. One of the simplest possible ways how to fix it.... Stellaris and pdx launcher overwrites mod files which causes bugs. To prevent this from happening just try to make your "mod" folder read-only. Do it after placing and editing mods inside it. The mod folder should be placed in your Stellaris documents folder. Probably "C:\Users\Username\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Stellaris" Mod file path in "modname.mod" file should be "mod/modname" not "C:/Users/Username/....." The other ways of fixing it are: Reinstaling stellaris Reinstalling pdx launcher Deleting Stellaris documents folder or mod folder with mod load order file Also remember to check if your Stellaris instalation folder is not set to "read only" this can prevent mods to load also. I hope that this post will help you
Just so everyone knows the launcher is not important at all. I can't get it to launch either, but the only use of it is for mods. If u get into the launcher activate the mod then exit the launcher. Even if u play without the launcher it still uses the mod as long as u activated it.
Alright, i found the solution for the DLC'S not working. So, first off you have to delete dlc_signature from /Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris That should be the solution. (Might not work while starting the game from dowser.exe) If this does not work for you, try different ways to overcome this problem, like copying stuff from .iso / CODEX and dropping that into installer folder (The main one)
How do I install mods? I've tried the tutorial that everyone vomits at anyone who asks this question but that didn't work because I can't make the launcher install in my install folder, because it says I need to sign in as a administrator when I already am.

Thanks to sir wafflez and zomdog The launcher installer can be found inside the game installation file. If it comes up with an error take the launcher-settings.json file (found just below the launcher installer) and right click on launcher-settings.json, open with notepad, and change the steam to pdx. After that Copy-paste it into the installation folder for the launcher (mine is nestled away in %appdata% somewhere), you can use the launcher installation to uninstall and reinstall the launcher to find out where it goes.

The file is NOT next to the usual "part1/2/3/4" files , scrolled higher up and as long as you PAY ATTENTION , above the system requirements you will see a tiny section called "Update 3.6". Download it and simply install it, read the instructions in it.

Go to your mod folder and look for the one with this problem and OPEN AS "note bloc or whatever just to read the file" the .mod file u need to add or edit this. path="mod/(name of the mod folder)"
Example: i have planet.mod(planet is the same name of the mod folder) i open as on a note bloc to add this
path="mod/planet" save it and check on the stellaris launcher and it should be fixed

Stellaris still just as hard the last time it was a real purge to succeed in installing it properly here it's even worse so in the order of what is causing the problem there are no DLCs there are no there is no way to use it as an update of the previous one it makes the previous one which contained the DLC disappear Since there was the Gog launcher on the previous one and that there is more and well we can no longer put a mode no here all the issues so please i know you are doing your best to give us the best possible experience there are games that are being updated and added every day and i am probably talking bullshit but i think it's done by volunteers And in general when there are manipulations to be done after the download it's something that is extremely easy so I thank you very much but here for once it must be rare but on stellaris it doesn't didn't work The tutorials for installing or updating don't change anything since only the tutorial for installing can be used so unless you need a manipulation specifically specifically for this game, what is possible and well that does not work I tried to install it in several parts I tried via torrent I searched in the files to see if I had to do something to install the DLCs once installed it does not work I tried to regroup it with the old stellarist that I hadn't deleted it doesn't work I tried to follow the classic installation tutorial it doesn't work the update tutorial it doesn't work
- download the parts and extract them
- run the "setup_stellaris_3.7.3_(63182).exe" file and install the base game
- open the DLC folder and install each of the dlcs one by one
- run the game (from the desktop shortcut or start menu shortcut or dowser.exe)
- skip the account login and let the launcher update
- after launcher is done restart launcher
- click play after checking your dlcs are enable and game settings are good
- start new game
This guide was for version 3.7.3 it might be different for future releases.(make sure to select the same install location for the base game and dlcs)
(there is a Bonus folder with other files like wallpapers etc but those aren't needed for the game)
RIP Modding
- Unzip and install it.
- After installation, copy all files under CODEX and paste them into the installation folder (where Stellaris.exe and dowser.exe locates).
- (Optional) Edit steam_emu.ini (copied from CODEX). Set DLCUnlockall=1 if you want all DLCs enabled. Set Language=your_language if you want to change the language in game.
- Use dowser.exe (the launcher) to configure DLCs and MODs, but don't use it to launch the game. Instead, directly open Stellaris.exe to start gaming. (This is different from the legal Steam version.)
To install new mods, download them from steamworkshopdownloader.io and unzip them (one folder/directory for one mod), then register your new mods:- For each mod you've unzipped: copy descriptor.mod to C:\Users<YourUsername>\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Stellaris\mod; rename the copied .mod file to whatever you like (but keep the .mod postfix); add one line to the copied .mod file:
- path="<path to the place where you unzipped this mod, replace all \ to />"
- Don't forget the quotes, and don't include "<" or ">" in your real .mod file.
- Some MOD authors may leave their own "path" lines in their .mod file; delete these lines and keep there is only one "path" line (which is added by you, not the author) in one .mod file.

I would recommend waiting for another release from IGG before installing it. I have has cases where I let it run for 30 minutes or so and it "updates" the version but then I am missing a background picture, buttons, crashes, etc. there is a lot going on right now.
Please be patient so they can push another release for us. :)

Go to library and find that button where you can add a game in your local computer (google it because I forgot how)
Find stellaris executable
Create a shortcut of that game using steam (again google that, make sure its a shortcut created by steam not the shortcut created by "send to desktop" in file exporer)
Open stellaris using that shortcut. Done.

I used launcher (once I found it) to enable the dlcs, then it worked as it should.
Note:
You can either enable or disable all of the dlcs at once, launcher gives you no option to choose which ones to activate or not individually.
You can however delete the dlcs that you don't want or put them elsewhere if ever if you want for just some specific dlcs to be activated while excluding the rest.
set up with launcher, use main game file to play game.
2nd: Go to your desired mod page/link in the Steam Workshop.
3rd: Copy the link and paste it in the website on the first step.
(This archive path in the mod's descriptor file is invalid or does not exist)
Hearts of Iron IV and Stellaris shares pretty much the same thing so inorder to install a mod, you need to:
1 - Create a Mod through the "Create Mod" button in the launcher
2 - Go to your Documents folder look for the Paradox Launcher folder and then seek for Stellaris.
3 - Extract your mod's files from your .rar/.zip file
4 - Copy/Cut EVERY FILES in the extracted mod file folder to the Documents/Paradox Interactive/mods. If it is not there, create a flder named "mod"

that will verify the dlc for you in the launcher.

I've reinstalled the whole thing brand new and it still won't launch.

Edit: ok so I've figured out that its something with the launcher. When I tear it out and reinstall stellaris its self it works fine until I try to use the launcher to enable mods. Does anyone have a solution for this?
Check reddit or so for the bugs and the likes.
Disclaimer: Not that annoying or totally unplayable but I am just picky about some certain things is all.
I might wait a bit more until some hot-fixes or so are out, might need to redownload the whole thing again anyway or not, who knows. I just find it to be too broken or well annoying in my case with the new sets of bugs or so.

Gave it a second chance and got to play for a bit, pretty wonky.
I want to try out the new re-worked features (Including Bugs) especially the first contact framework which now just makes so much more sense than before.
Btw, what's different from Codex and GOG version? Checked out the torrent for a bit though for now I might just wait for it here cause I've already waited this long anyway.
It should be soon for the game file/s here to be updated. Can't wait to try it out, been watching youtuber wars and rp mp to pass time.

Tried it again because I really wanted to play the game after a few days or weeks, this time trying the Megaup option which I somehow got to work and I finally got the game running.
Aside from the usually slow downloading speed from torrent, I don't trust it anymore that much compared to the usual download options here. Not sure about the others but that's how it went for me.
Either have patience or look elsewhere.

Only to find out that there's an uptade (2.8.1.2) with another 19 setups more and no instruccions again.
There are two files in the update2.8.1.2, DLC and Update, in Update there's a update for the base game (I think)(which would make sense goes first) and in DLC 18 setups, one for each DLC.
Also, if you thought the game was broken because the shortcut "Stellaris" in your desk post installing correctly launched "dowser.exe" and instanly crashed, freezed your machine, keept weird CPU/memory/GPU heavy apps or second plane apps running or very laggy game, no your game is not broken (hoppefully) go to file location of Stellaris, look for apps, try the one that says "Stellaris", not "Launch Stellaris", or "uninsnumber", worked for me.
Sooo, here are my questions:
Do I install base game, then update basegame, then the next dlc from top to bottom, the the update for that,... or do i install basegame and dlc's, then update basegame, then dlc's in order ?
Are the update setups more, less or same likely to crash than the basegame setups?
What's even in update 2.8.1.2, is it worth it?
Why in the name of ### ####### ## ####### would anyone not give feasible installing instructions, or any instruccions at all?

I did got it to work but wihout the update V2.8.1.2, not really sure in what order to install them,didn't want to risk break the game. pretty sure they are not necesary

game has higher System Requirement than it says here
I have 8gb integrated graphics, here says it needs 4gb and 1 vram, so my pc should be ok because 8gb integrated is roughly equal to 6gb 1.5 vram.
But it has slowdowns and as the game progresses andd more shit is happening the worse the performance gets, i would advice having
at least 16 gb 1 vram to get the whole experience
The last time I downloaded is the gog version was this gog version too?

You must find how to adjust mode in edit in file.
Open it with note++, Microsoft word, or something, and edit.
There must be way what searchable in portal sites.

edit: sorry not the descriptor file. there's like a different text file that you need outside the folder that has the same name as the folder. if you go to mod tools in the launcher and make a new mod, you'll see the format it needs to be

the reason its like this is because gog has a seperate installer for all dlcs

After looking on forums, checking files, editing and deleting Stellaris and Paradox launcher data files.I found another possible solution to this problem.
One of the simplest possible ways how to fix it....
Stellaris and pdx launcher overwrites mod files which causes bugs.
To prevent this from happening just try to make your "mod" folder read-only.
Do it after placing and editing mods inside it.
The mod folder should be placed in your Stellaris documents folder.
Probably "C:\Users\Username\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Stellaris"
Mod file path in "modname.mod" file should be "mod/modname" not
"C:/Users/Username/....."
The other ways of fixing it are:
Reinstaling stellaris
Reinstalling pdx launcher
Deleting Stellaris documents folder or mod folder with mod load order file
Also remember to check if your Stellaris instalation folder is not set to "read only" this can prevent mods to load also.

So, first off you have to delete dlc_signature from /Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris
That should be the solution.
(Might not work while starting the game from dowser.exe)
If this does not work for you, try different ways to overcome this problem, like copying stuff from .iso / CODEX and dropping that into installer folder (The main one)

The launcher installer can be found inside the game installation file. If it comes up with an error take the launcher-settings.json file (found just below the launcher installer) and right click on launcher-settings.json, open with notepad, and change the steam to pdx. After that Copy-paste it into the installation folder for the launcher (mine is nestled away in %appdata% somewhere), you can use the launcher installation to uninstall and reinstall the launcher to find out where it goes.
